  1. What matches have taken place at both a Starcade and a Wrestlemania? I can think of Ric Flair Vs Randy Savage (Starcade '95 and Wrestlemania 8).

The only other close one I can think of off the top of my head is Steiners Vs Wild Samoans (Samoan Savage & Fatu) at the Starcade with the tournament and Steiners Vs Headshrinkers (Samu and Fatu) at Mania 9.

Are there any others or any other close ones? I know I could Wiki this but I am throwing it out there for a bit of fun.

Good question, I can't find any other exact instances but a close one would be Hogan v Piper who headlined Starrcade 1996 and they also faced each other at WrestleMania 1 teaming with Mr T and Paul Orndorff.

  2. Does anybody have a full list of what match edits there are in the early WWF PPVs released on VHS and therefore carried forward onto the tagged classic releases (between 1985 & 1991) ?

For example the Bulldog/Warlord match at WrestleMania 7 is heavily edited compared to what aired on PPV

  3. Cheers, done a bit of research and the list now looks like -

    Summerslam 90, 91

    Survivor Series 88, 89, 91, 92

I know Sid and Slaughter got interviewed at Summerslam 90 but can't find owt with Hogan and Warrior.

You can eliminate Survivor Series 91 and 92 as Warrior was gone from the WWF when these both went down.

And I think at Survivor Series 89 a lot of the wrestlers did promos at the start of the show saying what they were thankful for and Warrior was one of these (Dusty Rhodes was thankful for his polka dots  )

  4. Did The Ultimate Warrior cut promos or get interviewed at any of these PPV's (or TV show in the case of Royal Rumble 88, if you want) -

    Summerslam 89, 90, 91

    Wrestlemania 5 & 7

    Survivor Series 88, 89, 91, 92

    Royal Rumble 88, 89, 91

I don't have any of these events nearby to check myself, any help greatly appreciated.

At Royal Rumble 91, he came out for an interview segment with Sherri/Mene Gene, where Sherri tried to talk him into giving Savage a title shot at a later date. After rejecting Sherri's advances and turning her and Savage down, Savage then cost Warrior the belt later on that night.

  5. Was Survivor Series 1991 the first PPV that Hulk Hogan wrestled for the WWF Championship that was not put on as the last match of the night?

He also wrestled in a WWF title match against Roddy Piper at the Wrestling Classic PPV back in 1985 which was in the middle of the show

  6. Can anybody list any of the WWE DVDs that have not been released by Silvervision? I think there was a Tribute To The Troops special but are there any more?

There was also a Kane: Journey to Hell dvd that wasn't released over here.

It only featured 5 matches though

    Kane v Undertaker (Inferno Match)

Kane v Shane McMahon (Last Man Standing Match - Unforgiven 03)

Kane v Matt Hardy (SummerSlam 04)

Kane v Shawn Michaels (Unforgiven 04)

    Kane v Edge (Vengeance 05)

  7. Also, was it known on the intnernet beforehand that Haku would return at the Royal Rumble in 2001, or was it surprising?

I think it was a total shock. He was WCW Hardcore Champ, at the time, so nobody expected him to jump.
He won the Harcore title the Sunday before at the WCW Sin pay-per-view. But if I remember right he wasn't under contract to WCW which is why he could jump ship like he did.
  8. I always thought that winning the coin toss was a DISadvantage if anything. In kayfabe-terms, Luger, on losing, could've got counted out or DQ'd straight away against Crush and then been fresh against the winner of a likely gruelling World Title match. I know the character would never have played that card, but still. I guess it's the whole issue of the champion's advantage that would've been attractive?...

I agree, and I always thought it wasn't right that Bret got to wrestle in the opening match and then got the rest of the night to recover. Whereas poor Yoko only got a small rest. It's no wonder he slipped off the ropes near the end and lost the match ;)
  9. It was Crush that Luger was supposed to face. Good job Luger won the coin toss though otherwise that Crush/Savage feud may never have got its blow off match >_>

thanks for clearing that up not sure what made me think it was borga
I think Borga was injured at the time as well, as Bam Bam replaced him in his match with Tatanka at the Royal Rumble
  10. Bret Hart pinned The Mountie in an announced three seconds at MSG one time.No he didn't. I'm sure Bret confirmed in his autobiography that the match actually went closer to 8 or 9 secondsApparently The Mountie suffered a concussion 2 seconds in, so the awesome Hitman had to completely carry him for the remaining seven seconds!! :p

Is this match on any of the old WWF tapes, as I'm sure I remember seeing it ?
  11. I have been watching a compilation of JCP tv shows from early 1988. One of the angles they did was Dusty Rhodes getting suspended for 120 days for losing it and attacking Jim Crockett and Tully Blanchard with a baseball bat. He then returned under a mask as the Midnight Rider, but this lasted less than a month and he is back 'as himself' without any explanation.Does anyone know the reason why they dropped the Midnight Rider storyline and what reason they gave on tv for his reinstation ? Thanks

  12. Did the Hart Foundation and Rockers ever have any other matches against each other, apart from the one that features on the new Shawn Michaels set when the top rope snaps ?

Yeah. At least two are available on WWFE DVD/video. They did one on the April-ish 90 SNME, which is on the Bret Hart DVD (and is a bloody excellent match), and there's also one from around 89ish on one of the Coliseum Video releases (might have been one of the World Tour vids)...
Cheers for the info, i'll have to dig these out later to watch. I'm actually surprised they had more than the one match. As I don't think WWF did a lot of face v face matches back then.
