  1. Land Of The Dead - Loved the original trilogy, and the Dawn remake. I liked this movie, though i think they should have left more gore in and slapped an 18 certificate on it.

I agree with the 18-cert bit, there seemed to be a fair amount of stuff cut to get a lower rating. Entertaining, but the story never seemed to go anywhere!
Its not just to try and lower the rating for cinema-goers, its also to take advantage of the DVD market. A nice little 2 DVD uncut version will be out within a few months. The film makers realise now that this is the way forward, deliberately cutting out many (often key) scenes instead of having a genuine 'directors cut'. Its getting a tad annoying now to the point I don't go the cinema half as much as before (almost as annoying as having 'outtakes' at the end of the film).
  2. My mini review of Burnout: Revenge (or how to make a game that makes you want to hang yourself). In the ten months since the release of Burnout 3, one thing has certainly become clear. All of the games testing staff at Criterion have either been made redundant, are dead or perhaps both.Burnout: Revenge is one of the most bugged, shoddily programmed pieces of garbage I have ever had the misfortune of paying for.I'm a huge fan of the Burnout series and managed to overlook the one or two problems Burnout 3 had (crashing, lock-up) because it was a ton of fun to play. This time, the problems are so severe, it stops any kind of enjoyment I can have with it.Problems with the draw distance are frequent. I don't know how many times i've crashed my car because an object or barricade appears just in front of my car. Several problems with the game crashing in between races. My car magically exploding mid-race without hitting ANYTHING at all, the on screen display disappearing on two particular tracks, falling through the floor into a nicely lit void underneath (twice being placed back on the track, the other falling forever) and countless other graphical bugs (being able to see through buildings when you drive next to them etc).Another massive problem is the utter lack of common sense with car respawning. Many times have seen me being taken out in the race, only to be respawed in the oncoming lane with a bus in front of me, resulting in another crash and more wasted time. Other times has seen my car respawned right in front or a barrier or wall, leaving me no alternative but to reverse out of the predicament and try a salvage what is left of the race. The new crashbreaker races are stupid. Why do I now have a weapon that the opposition can't use? I have to say, I prefer a more level playing field. The times I have used it have resulted in more problems, with the cars i've supposdly taken out being respawned ahead of me, sometimes way ahead. The majority of the cars are a complete waste of time, with most of them sharing the exact same stats with only cosmetic differences setting them apart (although to be fair, this also existed a little in B3).The crash mode was something I really loved about Burnout 3 and something else they've managed to ruin. Not only does it have fewer crash tracks than its prequel, but as you progress, most of them are repeated or are the exact same track with an ever so-slight change in starting position. All in all then, it all feels a tad rushed out to me, probably the result of the Criterion buy-out by EA. Back to the shop it goes, as i'll pick it up again when the Xbox 360 version comes out in 6 months or so, hopefully minus the above problems.(Before anyone says anything, i've tried two different copies on two different Xbox's, all with the same results.)

  3. I just noticed that RAW got a 4.4 this week.... When was the last time is scored a rating as high as that? And does anybody have a link for a week by week RAW rating since 2001?

Here you go.Its the highest RAW rating since March 22nd 2004.

I was watching Fox and Friends today and a guy by the name of Brian Kilmeade came on. I haven't got the tape to hand but could somebody confirm that he commentated on a UFC PPV and what one was it. Thank you.

Okay, he did interviews with the fighters on UFC1, whilst the amazingly hilariously brilliant 'Superfoot' Bill Wallace did commentary. Kilmeade took over for UFC2 and 3, but I don't remember if he did any after that.
  4. Anyone know the name of the song played when the ECW guys came out at the end of ONS?Also any of the songs played throughout the 'ECW Memories' segments would be helpful, thanks.

Thunder Kiss '65 by White Zombie.I imagine a deal was struck between Rob Zombie and the WWE for showing the trailer for his newest film.

This week I have been mostly playing...

Wario Ware (Gamecube) and Touched (DS): Its mostly been my girlfriend hogging my TV and stealing my DS that has reignited my passion for these. Games so short they fill in 10 minute gaps perfectly, until you notice you've been playing for three hours. I have to get better at these, I can't have her being better than me at playing games.

NFL 2k5 (Xbox): I really suck at the one player mode, if you leave your assistant coach to look after your team, they all become shit and I haven't got the time to set up training schedules for all my players. However, in two player all shall fall to the mighty wrath of my Vikings.

Pop Idol (PS2): Blame the girlfriend. Moving on...

Top Spin Tennis (Xbox): I didn't give this a second look when it was first released and picked up a very cheap copy this week. Fantastic game and dare I say, more fun than VT2 on the Dreamcast.

Snatcher (Mega CD): Every couple of years I dig this out and start it from scratch and I love it. I managed to find my Lethal Enforcers light gun this time around too. With an ending that weighs in at around 40 minutes or so and a genuinely engrossing storyline, its a game that just leaps up and screams "remake me!".

I should get round to starting on Zoo Keeper this week, but im not sure I have the urge to start something I hear is so addictive.

On this site, there are some posters for house show tours featuring Bret Hart vs Jim Neidhart from 1994. Does anyone know if any Bret vs Jim matches happened on Raw or appear on a colliseum video. I have a couple of Bret-Davey vs Owen-Jim matches, but no Bret vs Jim one on one matches.Rick
No, not in a singles match capacity. As you say, plenty of tag matches across quite a few colliseum video releases (although a great many I think are doubled up). I do know that quite a few from house shows in 1994 (including 29/10/94 and 5/11/94) were fan filmed.
  7. Whatever happened to the S.A.T's?They seemed to be on every indy show two years ago.

They co-ran the FUSION show in December last year. It became the laughing stock of the indy scene at the time, with many advertised names not appearing. Still, its hardly a surprise when the names didn't actually exist; "Yoshinori Misawa", "Mitsuharu Ogawa" and some weird spelling of Evan Karagias. The show DID have Ultimo Dragon, Scott Hall, Sean Waltman, New Jack and Tommy Dreamer amongst others, but the damage was done and only 250 turned up to the RexPlex.Save the odd appearance for UXW and NWA: Cyberspace, they haven't really been seen much since.
  8. I've only watched bits and pieces of Smackdown over the last few weeks and have just realised that I haven't seen Rene Dupree for a while. I haven't even seen him on Velocity either. Anyone know where he is? Injured? Took off television? Even released?

As far as I know, he's off screen to be repackaged.*insert own Dupree package joke here*Not quite sure what they could change him too, although knowing the WWE, it'll be another foreign cheap shot. Napoleon anybody?
  9. Might as well ask another question. Just trying to get my ECW PPV collection for the year 2000 up-to-date. I currently have Anarchy Rulez, Heatwave and November to Remember from that year. What are the others?Cheers.

  10. Does anyone know the theme music used for AJ Styles at ROH "Night of the Grudges" (2003?) for his match against Paul London? (Featured on the ROH best of AJ vol. 2).I know it wasn't 'Touched' or 'I Am', but have no clue what it is. Have done a google search but can't seem to find anything.Thanks.

Without watching it again, I think it was the show where he used AC/DC's 'It's A Long Way To The Top'.
