Talks have happened. More than once.

With a card like that, if it had been in the UK i'd have been there like a shot.

 

If it had been in the UK, the show would have been cancelled a week before and the promoter would have been in New Zealand.

 

I just came across this photo and thought the belt there looks quite unique and interesting. I don't recognise it though.

 

I think that's a PWI Title. They're like a Canadian NWA of sorts, having one champion that covers a lot of different promotions.

You know, I don't post here often anymore, but this was the finest and most informative thread i've read on here in a very, very long time. It was great that despite being a fan for longer than I care to remember, I actually learned so much stuff that I didn't know.

Does any one in the UK use a quote from terminator when they come out in the music or whatever?

Namely the "It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear" bit. It induced a thought of some show some where and I don't know why.

 

Yes, a heel faction in 1PW uses it. Opens with that quote, then mixes into an instrumental version of Mein Herz Brennt by Rammstein. If you need it, I can probably upload it and send it to you.

Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on the European Wrestling Federation which was on Eurosport in the early 90's. I remember Orig Williams commentating, and their champion was a french bloke called Flesh Gordon, but that's all I remember.

 

Any one able to help?

 

My memory is rather hazy, so some of this may have been twisted in my mind over the years.

 

The EWF is known as the Federation Europeenne de Catch in France, so you may get more/better info from searching for that. They had a deal with the CWA (Germany), who they also shared TV time with on Eurosport, who I think was a sponsor of both promotions and another deal with the UWA (Mexico) that saw a few of their guys on EWF shows. Flesh wasn't just the champion, he was also the booker.

 

I remember very few matches from it, but seem to recall a masked Regal (doing the Hellraiser gimmick), Danny Boy Collins, Dave Taylor Drew McDonald and many other Brits being on the show.

Can anyone recommend me some GameCube games? It's a Korean PC version of Street Fighter II, similiar to Rainbow edition or Red Wave, but not one i'm familiar with at all. Anyway, the video is of a fight between Guile and Sagat (not sure if it's actually a boss stage, it's fought on Guile's stage, but with these Korean/Chinese versions, you never know), with Sagat murdering Guile with repeated, unblockable fireballs. I've got 10 discs of the Satellite Wrestling from Screensport and the quality is suprisingly good. It features the likes of Breaks, Yamada, Rocco, Cortez and Cullen and I'll see if I can rustle up the listings. The commentary and announcing is so bad and campy it is good.

I too remember loving that game. I tried booting up the old C64 disc quite recently, but alas, it wouldn't load.I think Aliens scared me more (and games like AVP still do) because of that damn motion tracker sound.
