  1. I like animation, but I don't like the look of the animation for that.

It's not so much that I don't like it, more that it just doesn't appeal to me anymore. I loved all 4 Shrek films but it took me ages to get round to watching them and the only reason I did in the end was because I knew I was going to see the 4th at the cinema. It's silly really, but I'm hesitant to say I've grown out of animation.

  2. BUMP

First Trailer for Speilbergs Tintin is up. TinTin

Visually it looks like The Polar express but with the talent behind it i'm hoping its going to be good

I'm actually a little disappointed, I didn't realise this was gonna be animated :\

I think that's the only way to really do it. For me at least anyway. I'd hate to see a real life version, it was attempted with Asterix and it was horrible. Plus the animation looks better than I expected it to so I'm a happy camper. The script's written by an impressive bunch of people, Jackson's directing and the cast is pretty star studded, I think it looks like a promising film. It'll be nice to see it at the cinema anyway. And if it all blows up I'll just buy myself the boxset of the old TinTin series I used to watch on TV as a kid.

Speilberg is directing, Peter Jackson is doing the sequel / second part

While Speilberg is oddly back for the third part.

I don't think this will be shit by any means, but it was the live action idea that had drawn me in. I'm not a big fan of animation these days.

  3. RE: WWF Primetime Wrestling 1985

I'm trying to number up my episodes of Primetime as I get hold of them and I notice the episode info I have for 1985 shows no info for 29th January, 12th February, 2nd April, 1st May, 21st May, 9th July, 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th December. Likewise there's episode info missing for 1986 too. Does anyone know if they're actually were episodes on those dates or if WWF was bumped for something else?

  4. Apparently the guy that filmed it has admitted it was actually chicken skin stuffed with bread. This came out when the police turned up to question him having had reports from people concerned this was actually an infant. Now I don't wanna sound all Duane, but am I the only one who finds the idea that this is chicken skin and bread a little hard to swollow?

  5. I saw that yesterday, not 100% sure it it just looks fake to me, but in this world of conspiricys etc, how are we ever going to know?

I can't really say it looks real or fake. The problem is that it's a quite a good little video but it occured to me while watching, what would I expect a genuine video to look like? The answer is that I actually don't know. I need to look into this one more, the article and video alone aren't enough.

  6. As for getting in to the early Doctor Whos - they are among the very best. I think the biggest barrier to entry is that they are black and white. You'd be surprised at the amount of people who won't watch anything black and white.

Actually, generally speaking I hate black and white, but yet I had no issues with Doctor Who, infact it aided the novelty to start with. When I put the first episode in and the opening theme and logo where on screen I felt like I was watching it on one of those really old TV's rather than my LCD!

I actually have one of these

    OldTV.jpg

  7. That's me now finished reviewing the entire first series of Doctor Who - An Unearthly Child through to the Reign of Terror.

For anyone who has seen them, let me know if you agree...

    You can read them here

I watched the first series a couple of years ago, I was suprised at how easily I got into it. I noticed a few things that don't seem to fit with what I know about The Doctor, such as seemingly being human, etc, but I really look forward to seeing how that plays out in later series. I have series 2 sat on my PC just waiting for me to record and watch, I may do that over the weekend.

The only thing that made me sad was all the missing episodes. Really, what on earth made the BBC think getting rid of them was a good idea? If I had a T.A.R.D.I.S. I'd go back, find the moment someone suggested that and give them a good poke in the eye!

  8. I imagine it would be quite a lengthy trip from another planet by balloon.

Maybe they would of been allready dead by the time they got here then?

In all seriousness, isnt this like "Massive" news if true? I mean this sort of confirms aliens are real and all that jazz, which is like, stupidly huge news?

Or am i just being to hopfull?

No, if you read it you'll see it's not an FBI Agent reporting back that ET crafts and body's were recovered. It's actually and FBI Agent reporting that someone else is claiming that's what happened, which isn't the same thing at all, even if the person talking to the Agent were credible.

I imagine it would be quite a lengthy trip from another planet by balloon.

Maybe they would of been allready dead by the time they got here then?

Well I assume the Duane answer would be that they came in a much larger craft, and the balloon thing was just like a landing craft. Much like if we were invaded by the Imperial Navy in Star Wars single pilots would be landing in TIE fighters having travelled the greater distance aboard a star destroyer.

Well no, Duane wouldn't actually answer the question at all, he'd just pretend it was never asked. In fact he'd likely ignore the memo that implies a balloon and focus solely on the one that claims there were 3 saucers and bodies were recovered.

Of course in fairness, the idea that they came in a much larger craft and the balloon thing was just a smaller craft or even that they collided with a whether balloon is perfectly possible unless you find the idea of ET's totally impossible in the first place.

I move around a lot on this but at the moment I'm gonna go with this being some sort of Earth made object, likely sometime that was very sensitive and secret which explains the secrecy surrounding it. I also kinda think maybe the Military / Government are quite happy about the UFO idea as it has helped distract people from whatever was really going on.

  9. Also, call me cynical, but it's interesting that this coincides with the launch of this new 'vault' website......is there advertising or any commercial gain attributed to the site that would benefit from the traffic of not just conspiracy nuts, but hundreds of thousands of interested people?

Since it's an official government website I'd be very suprised if they had adverts on there or anything like that.

  10. I imagine it would be quite a lengthy trip from another planet by balloon.

I've always found the balloon bit odd too. The whole Roswell thing is odd though, because there is enough evidence floating around to suggest something happened that the Military wanted kept quite, and while these memo's confirm nothing more than the FBI looking into it, it is odd that they even bothered if there was nothing to look into. Of course that certainly doesn't mean ET's were involved.

  11. 'Aliens exist' say real-life X-Files - The Sun

REAL-life FBI X-Files have emerged sensationally claiming flying saucers piloted by aliens did crash on Earth.

The top secret memos appear to back up conspiracy theories that extra-terrestrials landed in the US town of Roswell - before they were sent to the infamous Area 51 US airbase.

Three circular-shaped spaceships crashed containing the bodies of extra-terrestrials which were only three feet tall, said a special agent in 1950.

The explosive claims - that could be out of an episode of sci-fi thriller X Files - were unearthed after classified FBI documents were made public.

And they are sure to fuel conspiracy theorists' beliefs that the existence of alien life has been covered up.

Last night UFO experts said the files could be final proof that aliens and flying saucers "are real".

The amazing UFO find at Roswell, New Mexico, was detailed by FBI agent Guy Hottel in a 1950 memo to the agency's director.

Hottel reveals what a US Air Force investigator found.

"Three so-called flying saucers had been recovered in New Mexico.

"They were described as being circular in shape with raised centers, approximately 50ft in diameter.

"Each one was occupied by three bodies of human shape but only 3ft tall dressed in a metallic cloth of a very fine texture.

"Each body was bandaged in a manner similar to the blackout suits used by speed flyers and test pilots."

The name of the investigator who told Hottel about the sensational discovery has been blacked out in the memo titled 'Flying Saucers' and there is no mention of the date of the discovery.

Roswell's radar sparked technical problems on the UFOs causing them to come down, said Hottel who was in charge of the FBI's Washington field office.

He said the spaceships crashed "due to the fact that the Government has a very high-powered radar set-up in that area and it is believed the radar interferes with the controlling mechanism of the saucers".

Last night British UFO expert Nick Pope - who investigated mystery air threats for the Ministry of Defence - said: "These are the real life X-Files. This document could be the smoking gun that proves UFOs are real".

The FBI published the document along with thousands of files available in a new online archive called The Vault.

Roswell became infamous after reports that a flying saucer had crashed in the desert near a military base there on or around July 2, 1947.

The bodies of aliens were said to have been recovered and autopsied by the US military at Area 51, in Nevada, but American authorities allegedly covered the incident up.

Another secret FBI memo could confirm the 1947 Roswell UFO incident.

It claims in the same year that an object was found at the base "purporting to be a flying disc".

The disc was "hexagonal in shape" and "suspended from a balloon by a cable", according to the "urgent" memo sent to the FBI director.

The disc was initially thought to be a weather balloon - but the memo claims the US Air Force "had not borne out this belief".

But the United States military maintains the debris was just an experimental high-altitude surveillance balloon belonging to a classified program.

I realise these memos have actually been available for sometime and that they've only caught attention because of they're release through the FBI's new site. Though some might be interested. I certainly found it interesting how the 2 memo's contradict each other with the description. Personally I'm not sure what to make of the whole Roswell thing, but I've always found it interesting.

  12. Some nice string pulling there.

Someone over at AboveTopSecret was certain a chair couldn't move like that without being on some sort of track, but surely with the objects that are on the floor all you really need is one string going one way and another going another to be able to creat that movement? It really did look too easy to fake.

  13. HHH is miles better as a heel. In 2000 people were calling him one of the best heels ever.

But that was over a decade ago! Since then the heel Triple H, the turns, it's all become so over done..

However, I'm sure that he has at least another six month run left in him so I'm skeptical as to whether he will do or not. A match between the two without the career-threatening stipulation would be brilliant and certainly something I'd like to see.

You think Triple H has another 6 month run left? Have I missed something? When did he become about ready for the scrap heap?

  14. In the build up here, you could have HHH come back and do a similar thing, the turn at Wrestlemania being something of a catalyst for it. He can't beat Undertaker one on one so he doubts himself. He then uses his power connections with the McMahon's in order to try and claw his way back into the title scene for one last run. It's hardly the wrestler, and we've seen it done before, but I think a HHH heel run has got some mileage in it should they choose to do down such a direction.

Honestly, I was so fed up with Triple H being a heel before that I really don't think I ever want to see it again. Not only that, I've seen switches become more frequent over the past 10 or so years. I much prefer guys like Cena, who are one or the other and stick to it, that way if/when a turn comes it really is a big deal. Triple H spent so long as a heel and has turned on people so many times that I often expect it and wait for it, like with Shawn, I kept expecting a turn. I'm glad it never came.

  15. Of course people are still speculating. That's the point of the videos being vague. If they didn't want speculation, they'd put up a graphic saying "Undertaker returns next week". This way, even though most people are pretty sure it's The Undertaker, the speculation might make people tune in to see if it's quite that simple. Also the fact that it might not be just The Undertaker, if it is The Undertaker makes it more interesting. It's very clever.

It also wouldn't be the first time The Undertaker had returned and not been The Undertaker ;)

I said nothing of the sort, not in this thread, not yesterday at 6:05pm, and I'm fairly sure not at all.

I have no idea what you hope to gain by besmirching my good name sir, but - BY GOLLY! - you won't get away with it.

I was also tempted to mention the time Razor Ramon and Diesel were advertised to return next week ;) Am I the only one who actually liked that idea?

I read this interesting bit of trivia over on Lords Of Pain earlier today:

In light of speculation of a Sting vs. Undertaker showdown at WrestleMania XXVII, if they were to wrestle, it would not be their first encounter.

Sting, as WCW World Heavyweight Champion, wrestled and pinned the future "Deadman" on September 1, 1990 in the main event at a World Championship Wrestling live event in Greensboro, North Carolina. They were scheduled for a follow-up bout the following night in Knoxville, Tennessee, but the match in Greensboro was such a disaster that they put Harley Race, at that point a generally retired wrestler turned manager, in the main event instead. Knoxville was Mark Calaway's final date as "Mean" Mark Callous as he had already given notice to WCW officials and agreed to join the World Wrestling Federation.

It should be noted, however, that the concept of The Undertaker character was not presented to Calaway until after he signed with Vince McMahon. He said in a 2002 interview with WWE Magazine that he was terrified that he would be hatched from an oversized egg at the 1990 Survivor Series, which had been on display at WWF events for months and heavily hyped on television, and appear as an egg-like character.

"The promotion was leading up to Survivor Series, and I was terrified that (Vince McMahon) was going to call me and want me to be a big egg, to shave my head and eyebrows and be "egg man," Calaway stated. "It was definitely a relief to get the Undertaker call."

Yes, and Bret Hart had a match against Kane!

I'd never heard the egg story before, I now have a picture in my mind of a bold egg like Undertaker!

  16. Of course people are still speculating. That's the point of the videos being vague. If they didn't want speculation, they'd put up a graphic saying "Undertaker returns next week". It also wouldn't be the first time The Undertaker had returned and not been The Undertaker ;)

In all seriousness, this is clearly The Undertaker. I like the theory that someone else is in the vignette, but when it comes down to it I think it's just supposed to be him.

  17. Dude, don't be so bloody lazy! If you're gonna post a link at least say what it is so people know if they wanna click it!

For the benefit of everyone else, this is excellent footage of a UFO sighting over Jerusalem last week. What I found interesting about this is that Tuesday night me and my mate saw a UFO, not saying its aliens or anything like that, just that it was flying really odd. Changing direction sharply, lights going really bright then back to flashing. Was all a bit bizarre, so when I come online the next morning and see the headline about a UFO it was freaky timing!

It's a viral ad for Battle LA.

Really? That's a fucking cool idea! What's Battle LA?

IMDb page for World Invasion: Battle LA

That looks fucking awesome! Made sweeter by the fact their viral campaign made a headline on AOL!
