  1. Yeah, he popped in for a cup of coffee between being a Dynamic Dude in WCW, then returning to WCW as Rick Steamboat's partner.

I remember watching that live(or however delayed it was on SKY) , show's how old i am! Anyway was that his only television apperance in that run? I don't remember seeing him again.
  2. I know you have all been waiting, so here you go ....Another day of excitng developments, and im finally allowed to tell you all more details Basically, as you know, i was scheduled to sign the company over to the Liquidator yesterday, and i did not do it, due to a series of bizarre and wonderful and completely un-fathomable events. I was approached by two seperate potential investors, and have been involved, along with the company solicitor, in some serious talks with both parties over the last day or so. Things are looking very promising indeed. I feel like such a tease, but there is one more issue to be addressed prior to me being allowed to share with you all the most amazing news i have ever heard. I can tell you that our two investors are not connected to wrestling in any way at all, aside from their new association with 1PW. I can also tell you all that one of the potential investors was actually in the crowd at WND, and was completely taken aback by the passion, enthusiasm, pride and sheer love that our family/ fans has for our beloved 1PW.I quote " There were dozens of grown men actually crying... i couldnt believe how special those fans are, and how much they believe in the company " See, i told you all, YOU are 1PW ;-) If we are all blessed with a second chance, there will understandably be many issues that need addressing, and many facts you all need to know. We will tell you EXACTLY how the company died in the first place, who was owed what, how we paid them, how the WND show came about, and the entire story thru to present. We will give you all , all the facts, as you deserve nothing less.I type this knowing some troll will copy and paste my words and use them against us, to try to tell you all that you are all insane for believing, but, and here is the most beautiful part, they cant hurt us ever again, as collectively our belief and our passion is greater then anything they can even comprehend. As long as you all believe, they have no power at all. The best announcement ever TM is coming tommorrow night at 9pm.Steven Gauntley

I'm willing to give it another shot, because I did love the 1PW events, I just hope he does business the correct way this time.
Are you not in the slightest bit bothered about how the situation look's regarding last saturday's event? I know i for one will be disgusted should it be proved that the event went ahead with the intention of putting Gauntley's promotion back together.
  3. I don't want to be jumping to conclusion's but this stink's . If we're all right in our assumption's then the people who worked on saturday's show have some serious question's to be answer.Seriously i know wrestling can be sleazy at the best of time's but this situation is looking terrible -even for pro wrestling.

  4. British wrestling needs an independent union in my opinion. As this thread and countless others prove , any Tom , Dick or Harry can promote a half assed wrestling show paying people NOTHING and doing little or no advertising. If you had a Union that all wrestlers had to be part of this kind of thing could be nipped in the bud before it got to the point where outsiders like myself are wondering if anyone in British Wrestling is remotely professional. Look of course i know the last statement to be bollocks but threads like these do sow doubts into my mind anyway from time to time.

  5. Scott Future is no backyarder. I don't know too much about him, but I do know he trained at the Hart's Dungeon at some point, and was the trainer for one of RBW's schools until early-mid 2004.I've only seen him wrestle once (against Alan Kilby), and whilst far from being the star of that show, he was far from being awful.Having said that though, he's not a drawing name. For reasons unbeknownst to me, he's massively unpopular in some circles, and in a thread on the old TWC forums about who was the worst wrestler, someone nominated him, along with a tirade of abuse to follow it up.

I've seen Scott Future wrestle twice for IWW in 2002 (a matinee show, then the evening show) and he was DREADFUL. e.g He blew a spot, then shrugged it off as if to blame his opponent (eh, Michael Kovac!), thus drawing attention to it. He also attempted a legdrop from the 2nd rope, and appeared so afraid/hesitant, he didn't let go of the rope with his left arm, and fell all awkward. Needless to say he wasn't brought back, and I've yet to see him on the line-up of any UK show - which could be just a co-incidence, because surely someone books him?
Your right its strange how this is the second so called 'supershow' he is booked on and yet you will be hard pressed to find his name pop up in any promotion that gets any sort of mention on the net.Perhaps he just kisses the right arses?
  6. I admire all of these heartfelt pleas to try and get Kriss' head out of his Ready Brek, but it really is a waste of time. He's proven time and time again that his ability to listen to reason is precisely zero. If he's absolutely determined to do a giant shit all over the industry that a large number of hard-working professional people slave for day and night, then there's nothing we can do to talk the stupid, deluded, selfish cunt out of it.

Of course your right about the deluded cunts complete inability to listen to anyone about anything but there is something that can be done. as i said before , people from within wrestling need to stop the wrestlers working for him. If they refuse to do so , blackball them for a while. Its the only way to insure nutters like this stay away from pro wrestling.
  7. When and not if this goes tit's up i really hope people within the wrestling community take serious action to prevent idiots like this staining the name of professional wrestling. I dont know Sprules and neither do i want. Throughout the 2 or so years i have mostly lurked on this forum i have watched him make a complete cunt of himself numerous times. Im not just talking about his hilarious attempt at a wrestling match either. The man has claimed he was a scriptwriter , wrestler , promoter , master crime solver and god knows what else from what i remember , it just goes to show how fucked up the internet can be. He seems to have lost all touch with reality and somehow has now talked some rich fella into backing a show which to say is doomed is an understatement. So when it draws all of 15 or so fans into that huge arena i really hope all promotions across the UK actually start to refuse to use the workers that have agreed to take a quick payday for this shambles. Its all very well slating the deluded cunt but he is obviously a mentalist that has no grip on reality. What worries me is workers who im sure love wrestling are agreeing to work for him for what is basically a quick payday. Look when it all goes tits up all thats likely to happen is the owners of the Skydome be put off any sort of wrestling and the people of the midlands be witness to what they think is a professional wrestling promotion acting like what it really is (a nutty internet story teller playing out his fantasy). How many times will the guy get shown up to be a loon before people within the wrestling community take action to prevent him having anything to do with it apart from being a fan or selling cans of coke? Come on people sort it out its meant to be an industry not a playground!

  8. Then why do most similar characters suck?

I haven't seen any characters similar to Delirious, and if I did, they'd likely be just as bad as he is.

What did Austin ever do except Thesz Press and Stunner?

Don'e embarass yourself. Austin is probably the best talker in the history of the business, an awesome storyteller, his facials are some of the best of all time, his character was superb. And even in terms of his moveset, Austin did a lot more than what you said. Not only that, he made every move count. A right hand by Austin has ten times the effect of an Irish Airborne Death-Valley-Driver.

His opening bell run is a spot.

But it's a terrible, stale spot. Eugene's spots were good for a while, but soon people began to tire and realise that actually he sucked.

Not many people I've seen do it as well as Delirious. Other people do the underdog thing well, but he does it very well.

The only time I've seen him do it really well is when he's been wrestling American Dragon, one of the top wrestlers in the world right now. Rey Mysterio is far, far better at it then Delirious, who at the end of the day, will be gone and forgotten in 3 years time. Kanemoto is a great underdog sympathy seller, Delirious had two decent performances in the role.

Daniels is ridiculously over-hated on these boards. Ridiculously.

So what do you like about him?

I bought the last few minutes of his title match with Danielson far more than I bought anything I saw him doing with Colt Cabana.

But Cabana is an average worker as well, just he is a great talker and has a much better character.Plus, Delirious/Dragon II went on far too long. How is it a guy who has won a total of about 2 matches can last nearly 30 minutes with your champion?

    What's wrong with his moveset?

There's nothing different about his signature moves. Movesets are often a general problem in ROH, mainly because most of the roster uses the same moves. If someone does a flip off a Lariat in the main event, it should be a massive thing, but it isn't really, as we've likely seen about 5 of them already on the card. Delirious'offence is OK, but some of it looks really contrived, and none of it grabs my attention.

I'm stunned they've never looked at Delirious. He's the perfect character for WWE.

The gutys at least 30LB's short of being a guy WWE would look at, and I can't see why his gimmick would capture their attention that much.
Wow just wow. I understand you dont dig the character but your being way , way to harsh on Delirious here. I tell you his promos connect with me more than anyone else on the ROH roster (with the exception of Jim Cornette). Sure he isnt making sense but its all about the intensity and feeling he puts into them. The man knows his charachter down to a tee , he performs a promo like its the way he really talks. And wether he is trying to be funny , sad or angry he gets the feeling he needs across perfectly in the promo. His wrestling is fine. I've just watched a match between him and Matt Sydal and its a perfectly acceptable ROH upper midcard match. I also noticed by the way how the crowd popped when he went mad at the bell -stale my arse..its a fun spot that makes him stand out in a promotion filled with super serious wrestlers. Sure he is no Samoa Joe but he doesnt need to be , the guy is over by having a character people can get behind. In fact if the WWE dont want him (his just as big as Kendrick , London or Noble so your size issue is incorrect) then i hope Brian Dixon brings him over. The kids at the holiday camps would love himand he could make himself a small fortune selling replica masks. One last thing . Colt Cabana is in my opinion an AVERAGE talker who is over by incorparating a British style into the modern style. He is far from an average worker however. In fact i think all the young Brit wrestlers should look towards him as an example of how to get a WOS style into your moveset. The guy is better at doing British than most of Britain.
  9. I think Delirious would be perfect for a run on Smackdown. He isnt overly stiff and he doesnt do too many flops so the wrestling shouldnt be an issue. His gimmick would be a hoot in the cruiserwieght division. Imagine him facing the bully Greg Helms and desperatly trying to win the belt but just failing everytime! Yeah its similar to his ROH stuff , but it works. Also WWE could let him use the Ultimate Warriors music , which would be perfect IMO.I can see why people get bored of the gimmick but i would hope EVERYONE can see just how damn talented the man playing it is.

  10. That show sounds great. Can't wait to see the dragon gate six man. The reviews on DVDVR are full of praise so well worth watching hopefully. Two thing's. I cant wait to see Joe beat the shit out of Czw .Please give Colt a win over Homicide!!!Seriously i cant really afford ROH dvd's at the moment but these two fueds make me desperate to keep up with it.

  11. Recieved 'Steel cage warfare' this morning and watched it already so some thought's.The main event was totally awesome. It was one of those matches that after i'd finished watching it , i had a massive smile on my face. M.V.P in my opinion was Alex Shelley. Until this match i've never really seen the appeal in Shelley but he ruled here. He was the total heel and was being a dick at every opportunity. Yes he was'nt as spectacular as other's but he carried the match during the slow period's. Abyss was awesome as well . The way he would continuosly do the hand gesture if one of he's team mate's looked at him was a cool touch. Show's another side to the charachter rather than being just a 'monster'.By the way i dont want to ruin the match so all i'll say is there is a must see moment for any 'spot monkey' fan's out there. The undercard was good to average in my opinion. Danielson against Romero was excellant but seemed to finish too soon for me. It kinda felt out of the blue. Homicide/Corino was ok for what it was but not my cup of tea. Way too many weapon's for my liking, although that may not have been there fault as im sure this was the match Homicide did he's shoulder in. Sal Rinauro looked way out of he's depth to me , although he has looked that way everytime i've seen him to be fair. Mamaluke look's just to fucking small to be fighting these guy's in the manner he does. Cabana and Milano ruled though so i was happy.Jay lethal is the most fucking average wrestler i think i have ever seen. He just inspire's total apathy from me in everyway. Sorry i cant see the appeal. That's all i really have to say about that show . Overall though i did enjoy it. Money well spent i think.

  12. ROH would be my favourite promotion if i could afford to buy the DVD's reguarly. I love what there trying to do with the place. I just watched ' Dissension' and have fallen in love with Adam Pearce. Yes he is no Tracey Smothers but in the north east of America where people as shit as Trent Acid get regular work he is a refreashing change. I'll run through the stuff i like and dislike rather than review an individual show if that's ok.Like's ; Adam Pearce . See above.Jim Cornette ,. I love this guy and he is an awesome figure head to have when your rival promtion's are obsessed with 'spot fest's' and garbage wrestling. The Rottweiellers. See 'Manhattan Mayhem' when they initailly come out. They really did come across as a group of thug's who wanted to hurt someone. And Julius Smokes' cheesy grin just makes the whole thing even more intimidating . Yes Low ki has left but as long as Smokes and Homicide stick around well im entertained.Brian Danielson. The guy is fucking awesome. A wrestling machine . What a champ to have.Prince Nana . The best manager in wrestling today. The guy is money , surely Vince will come calling sooner or later?Honourable mention's go to Nigel Mcguinness , Ring crew Express , Generation Next and Jimmy Rave. I also like the look. Its simple but professional . Makes the product more pleasurable to watch in my eye's.In my opinion ROH is trying to evolve into an old school type territory and i fucking hope they succeed.Dislike's;Jimmy Jacobs , the man isnt a wrestler . he is a new romantic gone wrong. Sorry the huss thing was entertaining the first time but now , no matter what he does , well im just not interested.Christopher Daniels . I HATE watching him wrestle. I dont know why i just do. He bores me senseless.Basically apart from maybe the Generation Next members and Joe id really like them to try and stop using the TNA guy's. The more they can create their own star's , the better off they will be. I honestly dont think they need to use Styles and Daniels anymore. Sooner or later Tna will pull all it's talent so ROH would be better off pushing them out now in my opinion.

  13. Gotta be Edge for me , he has turned into a fucking great heel. Triple H is good but he get's to many cheer's , Edge however is hated by everyone which is something that sadly pro wrestling really lacks these days -heels that are actually hated.
