1. I have to cement the fact that Maddogg Maxx should be nowhere near this shit list, was just trying to track down a match he had with Spud on youtube as proof but unfortunately couldn't find it. Am really surprised that he is on the list and personally think it's to do with vendetta's rather than any lack of ability.

2. Seven Pounds.. i love Will Smith but could not watch this film again

way too depressing

Really?

I would have thought it would be one of those films that seeks to inspire and actually cheer you up after you've had a good cry.

Nope, im not one of those people who always enjoys the happy ending either but this film has zero inspiration

3. Does this mean there will now be a shortage of chops outside Flair matches? I know if I was wrestling then I would be cautious about throwing a chop for what it could be assoicated with, same as the diving headbutt, sharpshooter, rolling germans and the crossface.

4. From an extremely selfish point of view I hope this doesn't mean that networks will now begin to be even more wary of pro-wrestling. TNA must be gutted with all those rumours of a two hour time slot, this will set them back huge.

5. To Curryangel, stfu and wait for the official comment before you start tarring a guys name with such vile accusations!

Hardly a vile accusation, the AP have confirmed he strangled his wife one day. smothered his child the next then finished himself off. He's one of my favourite wrestlers (the other being a wife beating wanker) and I really enjoyed watching him over the years, but he's a murderer and I'm not going to make any sort of excuse for him just so I'll still have a "hero".
Not making excuses, but the fact is that until the report of the coroner is given they said they aren't confirming anything.
Ah right, Fox News' headline was a bit miselading

Official: Wrestler Strangled Wife, Smothered Son, Hanged Self

It's official as in 'an official person' rather than 'an official statement'. You can't make an official statement until the formal procedures are complete. However, if the Associated Press are running a story, it's about as credible as you can get short of seeing it with your own eyes.Apter was just scary. He completely dimissed the idea that steroids are commonplace among major stars and implied Benoit just liked working out a lot. How anyone can with his experience in the business can call themselves a journalist and then say something like that is baffling.Incidentally, I don't see any real conflict between being disgusted by the apparant actions and remembering the guy's in-ring talent. His ring skills don't excuse the manner of his death, and his real-life activities don't change his on-screen work.
Yeah and i notice you have retracted your prickish statement yet?
6. Or just disturbed. Or someone who just didn't know what to do, so did nothing for a while.

Exactly. Think about it for a minute. Perhaps he killed his wife by accident, then realised the enormity of what he'd done, then came to the conclusion that he couldn't go on living any more after all that's happened, and decided to take his son with him. So he sits down on the sofa to spend one last night with his son, watching on the TV all those people he's known for years, all those he called colleagues and friends, texting them because he knew they'd realise something was wrong from the emotion in his voice. And when it finished, he put his son to bed, waited for him to go to sleep, smothered him, wrote the note to the rest of his family, and hanged himself.Complete hypothesis, I know, but given that it's something you could imagine any ordinary person doing, I'd say it's the closest idea.
This will be turned in to a film.
7. As bad as all this is i really hope they dont erase Benoit from all memory. As bad as what it is that he's done he has achieved so much and he was a great wrestler and has touched alot of people's lives. I for one hope WWE dont abandoned his memory and legacy as a performer. They dont have to mention him again on TV or PPV but to remove his name from DVDs and remove his merchandise seems very childish and desperate in order to protect themselves.

If your a public company selling a murderers merchandise that's not going to sit very well, they have to do this.
8. As the WWE has only in the past given passed wrestlers a single memorial show i would be surprised if they changed that in this circumstance.

When Eddie passed away, both Raw and SmackDown were memorial shows.
I appreciate what you are saying here but things are a bit different with Benoit's. There is a large cloud hanging over this one. i think whoever stated they should take a few weeks off has got it spot on. This means they don't do anything thay may embarass them in the future, it gives the other wrestlers time to come to terms with this and lastly (and less importantly) it gives Creative the time to come up with a totally new direction.
It was me that said that and it really needs to happen because the morale of the guys is going to be screwed in every way, shape and form. WWE can't do anything right at the moment, if they acknowledge Benoits career on screen then they will get torn to shreds by the media and if they don't acknowledge his career than a lot of guys are going to be pissed off. ECW storylines are shot, Vince's storyline is shot and most of the roster is not going to be able to recover for a long while. To many benoit was/is wrestling and if this is how a hero of theirs can be it's going to screw the mindset of many.
