  1. I never said Wrestling was more popular than Extreme Sports, I said it had a larger audience. I would also add to that that wrestling makes far more money.

I dunno, I reckon Quicksilver, Mambo, Vans, Tony Hawk, all the companies that make wetsuits, surfboards, skateboards, pads etc. are probably raking it in.
    More than Vince?
On videos alone, there is a possibility.Clothing merchandise too, t-shirts are the WWE's best seller, but again look at the number of clothes on the market related to extreme sports, vans shoes, airwalk hoodies. However on stuff like figurines, ticket sales, television deals etc Vince makes money where extreme sports cant.
  2. There are more extreme sports videos out there than there are WWF, its just they arent all as big a seller.

    'aren't as big a seller'.

Hence 'wrestling has a larger audience'.

    Thank you.

Of course some are made by small name pros that shift a few hundred copies, which is still more than anything by FWA standards.

Some of the bigger name videos *the CKY series, tony hawk's old stuff and a few of the Gravity Games* will rival WWE sales. The wwe have made tapes that sold as much as a randy savage album too.

Wrestling does not have a larger audience, its just that the majority of its audience is focused on one product.

And my case for the Extreme sports channel surviving is that there is no other channel that covers any factor of sport. TWC's biggest opponent is the WWE shows put out on sky sports and sky one. Its a losing battle from the start, and having only one company represent british wrestling aint gonna help much.

Channel 4 and Five have shown extreme sports, as well as Bravo.

Yeah, unlike sky they didnt sign a show that would attract 99% of extreme sports viewers to just watch that one show and forget everything else. Thats why the extreme sports channel survives BECAUSE IT COVERS THE WHOLE RANGE FROM SUCCESSFUL TO NON SUCCESSFUL

And for the millionth time, TWC doesn't give a shit about British wrestling, reviving the business, showcasing the business or burying the business.

They are in the business of GETTING VIEWERS and they will show whatever they deem worthy. Obviously they never felt that any other British promotion would be much a draw, hence signing the deal with FWA.

And whose opinion was that based on. As I suggested before the smart thing to do would to have given everyone a three month trial run and see who draws and who doesnt THEN offer out contracts. As I said, if FWA bombs then it will be shit for TWC cos they will have a useless contract that they would have to honour, and it would be shit for british wrestling because the other companies wouldnt be served justice in not been given the oppertunity to showcase their talent.

  3. Oh, and wrestling has a FAR LARGER AUDIENCE than 'extreme sports'.

    Evidence please.
From BARB.co.ukWWE RAW - 4th most watched show on Sky Sports 1 (week ending 29/02/04) with 270,000 viewers. Figures vary weekly, from lows as 170,000 and highs as 500,000.Extreme Sports channel - No data available. Videos and DVDS in the shops? WWE has tons of them.Extreme Sports? Erm.....
Hmm, lets see, do a search on skateboarding videos, anything under cky, the gravity games series. There are more extreme sports videos out there than there are WWF, its just they arent all as big a seller. And my case for the Extreme sports channel surviving is that there is no other channel that covers any factor of sport. TWC's biggest opponent is the WWE shows put out on sky sports and sky one. Its a losing battle from the start, and having only one company represent british wrestling aint gonna help much.
  4. Where can I buy tapes of all these great non-FWA British promotions' shows, and are they of good enough quality to be aired on national broadcast tv?Actually, I'm still waiting to find out the names of all these great British promotions that people seem desperate to have aired on TWC.Any help would be appreciated. ;)

If you actually read the posts like you claim you do there are examples on nearly every page of companies that people held in opinion to be on the channel.Jus cos they didnt quote your questioning and give you a full list doesn't mean it hasn't been suggested. Now that someone has paid attention to your little request feel free to have a lil ego boost, get over yourself and maybe pay attention to people's opinions before spurting off again. :D Thank you for your co-operation.
  5. What about Extreme Sports Channel? That's been on the air for years.

Yeah, it has the Gravity Games coverage every year, covers a large audience market for alternative taste *damn big audience for "alternative sport" must note* And there isnt another show on a different channel that the world follows like with wrestling and the wwe.The FWA in my opinion isnt strong enough to hold british wrestling in the tv viewers interest on its own. In hindsight a smart move would be to offer all companies interested a 3-4 month trial period, see which companies draw ratings and which dont. And THEN sign up the ones that work. If FWA bomb now on tv then TWC are in shit for five years unless someone put a buy out clause in that contract.
  6. (GPW allegedly already are as they use Sumners too)

Actually after seeing the quality of production Sumners produced the FWA poached Sumners from GPW. GPW do have a new production company however that can easily replicate and surpass the standards Sumners produced, the "hold the line" tour last week was a test run of the company's capabilities and was deemed a sucess.Shame, cos most of you wont be able to see it for 5 years now.In short I gotta ask one thing, classics guy. How much is shane paying you to kiss his ass on here so much, your missing the entire point of most people's anger and talk like you have been to every wrestling promotion and seen every event because unless you have the comments you are making are based on your opinion, so stop bringing them across as facts.Personally, this is a time where the rest of the uk scene are gonna have to dig in, work together and come up with interpromotional shows that share talent and production values to come up with shows of such a high standard FWA will look like a 2 bit production company. Wont happen sadly, would be nice though.Oh and when is Shane making his big announcement?
  7. But this is a wrestling channel.Airing in the UK.

Yes, airing mostly Japanese, American and Mexican wrestling.
Well with all british wrestling now coming from one fed they arent going to show much else are they? The idea of the wrestling channel opened up the possibilities that companies of different ability and style would be able to showcase their potential and attract a larger audience. Of course with Alex Shane thinking of
  8. A FULL statement can be expected in 48 hours from Alex however he and the FWA wish to stress that the deal between the FWA and The Wrestling Channel is not designed to hold back any other UK Promotions from putting out their productAlex was very keen to stress that the FWA were not going to hold a monopoly over the channel in ANY way

Hmm the above two quote segments to me either say "bullshit" or "wow, we really messed up saying EXCLUSIVE FOR FIVE YEARS"

meets or exceeds the standards that will be set by the FWA to uphold the integrity of British Wrestling.

There is a joke about alex shane and standards of integrity in there, cant think what tho. ;)
  9. Damn, its taken an hour to read through this whole thing.Personally im openly skeptical. The net thing alone looks dodgy and could be faked but the running from the cameras thing doesn't really leave him with a leg to stand on.Of course he might claim to be "intimidated by a camera prodding him in the face for no reason and escapes a hostile situation brought about for no reason" but thats far fetched and bullshit.Infact what HAS he said in his defence?I hope whoever's with him has him on suicide watch cos he aint gonna be able to go far these days, the downside to running a large scale indy corp and bein a general ass.Meh life sucks, then again so does Rob, thank god there really was no little 14 year old tho.
