  1. Im a bit surprised at some of these entries in here. I think people are right when they say the backyarders from the SWE are much more worthy of places on this list. On another note surely James Wallace has to be amongst the top if not number one.

I'd say that is a certainty!
  2. Can anyone tell me the name of the entrance theme music used by Chris Hero and The Briscoes in ROH?Cheers.

I think The Briscoes theme is Fuckin' In The Bushes by Oasis. I may be thinking of somebody else though.EDIT: Nope, that's Nigel McGuinness. Sorry.
Cheers anyway mate. I take it with McGuiness' theme they tag a different opening onto the Oasis song?I found the Briscoes song here;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJzgWVq86a8but still have no idea what it is.EDIT It is 'Gimme back my bullets' by Lynyrd Skynyrd.Search for Hero's goes on......................
  3. Back at No Way Out 2002 Edge was attacked and put out of action for about 9 months. Was the attacker ever revealed or is it one of wrestlings great mysteries?

One of wrestlings great mysteries. It never was resolved.
I thought it was Team Angle that done it? And wasn't it No Way Out 2003?
It was 2003 as Edge missed WM XIX. I was always under the impression it was unresolved too.
  4. Caged Rage (August 24th show) is definitely going on my To Buy As Soon As I Can list now that it has Pac vs. Danielson. That will be one HELL of a match. Not sure how Pac vs. Davey will go - maybe Pac's going into some sort of thing with the NRC, since he did face Roderick in his debut and all.

Following matches also added to the card;Four Corner SurvivalNigel McGuinness vs. Delirious vs. BJ Whitmer vs. Adam PearceSpecial Challenge MatchHallowicked vs. Chris Hero with Larry Sweeney, Sara Del Rey, Tank Toland & Bobby DempseyKeep me right. Does Four Corner matches have one pinfall to finish the match or are they elimination?
  5. You forget, the Briscoes have had a series of 2/3 falls tag matches in ROH this year, and not lost a fall so far. I'm guessing the first fall they lose will be a storyline marker in itself.

Yeah fair point. Could still work on the above though where Steen/Generico beat them in a fall but can't get two against them. OR, The Briscoes win two straight. Should be a good 'un.Just added for the 24/08 show is this match;ROH World Title Elimination MatchTakeshi Morishima vs. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Brent Albright Another that sounds good. The Champ's last two challengers in a Three Way Elimination match.
  6. Does anyone know if/where Drew McDonald is wrestling at the moment? I'm a huge fan, and personally think that he's still one of the best wrestlers in Britain, but the only time I've seen him this year was at Croydon I believe. I'd really like to see him wrestle again at some point, so any info would be appreciated.

I don't know where he wrestles now but I just like to pipe in with what a nice guy Drew McDonald is. Talked to him at a SCW show many moons ago, and was a very nice chap. You wouldn't have thought it.
I was informed by a BCW regular he had a 'no compete' clause in his new WWE contract meaning he couldn't wrestle anywhere and risk injury. I was also told he starts work Stateside in about 8 weeks. I'm sure someone with their finger MUCH better placed on the pulse of Scottish pro wrestling could enlighten you better though mate.
  7. The Briscoes are now defending the Tag Titles in a cage match against Steen and Generico in Hartford on 24/08 AND in a 2/3 falls match the next night in NYC.Briscoes to win in the Cage, go one fall a piece in the 2/3 falls match and tie the third, but Morishima to go down to Danielson. I am never right though lol!!

  8. August 9th: ROH officials are very excited to announce that PAC will make his ROH debut in the United States on 8/24 in Hartford and 8/25 in Manhattan. We'll have news on his matches next week in the ROHwrestling.com Newswire. Many ROH fans know PAC from his bouts at the last UK events. PAC will bring his unbelievable high-flying to Hartford and Manhattan. Get tickets for both shows now at ROHwrestling.com or by calling 215-781-2500.

Nice one. Well done PAC. Certainly deserves it.
  9. Some good build up for the title match there. Training segments and such are always good. Claudio's 'nice guy with bad English and great athleticism' character is pretty old school and awesome. I'm half convinced he might take the title...

I agree, but not about the title part. They wouldn't change the scheduled Morishima vs. Danielson match.
That could be the "curveball" though..............................
  10. In an as-of-yet unrelated note that may seem totally off-topic, but may also wind up being totally on-topic, the July 30th Wrestling Observer reports that there are tentative plans to retire the WWE Cruiserweight title (hence Hornswoggle winning it, burying the title) and setting up a more serious, pushed TNA-like 'X-Division' and new title belt, with the division having a new name other than 'cruiserweights' and 'light heavyweights'. I'll believe all of this when I see it like, but it makes sense to start pushing 'smaller' guys, given the way this Congressional investigation and will sure go and wind up.

That I would like to see.......................
  11. The following are scheduled for the ROH event in Hartford on 24/08/07;Steel Cage MatchJay & Mark Briscoe vs. Kevin Steen & El GenericoSteel Cage MatchJack Evans vs. Roderick Strongwith the following taking place in NYC the next night;Bryan Danielson will challenge the ROH World Champion!!!2/3 Falls MatchJay & Mark Briscoe vs. Kevin Steen & El GenericoDoesn't look like the Briscoes will be putting the Titles on the line on this weekend.Thoughts?

  12. Might be hard to answer but did JR ever wear the hat (on air anyway) before Vince forced it on him?

Nope, that was a big sticking point at the time. I might be wrong, but I think I remember him refusing to do it just before the first time he was fired. There was talk of Vince wanting him to portray "a good old boy character with a cowboy hat," but Jim Ross didn't want to be forced to play a JR role. After he came back, he was all hatted and cliched up to the eyeballs, and in true fucked up wrestling fashion, became that gimmick in the real world too. I bet he hasn't referred to himself as Jim in over a decade.
That is kind of my point. It seems like the JR character turned up at the funeral and not Jim Ross. That is either highly insulting to the grieving family or Jim Ross has become, for the most part, the WWE guy he is on screen.
