With Ember Moon it's so much worse than that. I recommend you listen to this interview.

She tells of story of blatant marginalisation and being royally fucked around, and deeply ingrained misogynistic behaviour towards her.

Although this is  very much reading between the lines, it's almost like the mentality is "well I wouldn't shag her, so why would we put her on the main roster?"

    It's incredibly gross.

Wow! Yeah. Says it all really.

Telling how there is no upper age  limit for male talent but only girls who can wear booty butt shorts need bother.

As an aside, what a real, relatable bubbly person Ember seems. Hope she lands on her feet.

I missed out on Summerslam 1992 but I was 6 and no chance were my parents taking me to Wembley.

I never got to see Bret Hart wrestle live. He appeared at the WCW house show in Manchester March 2000 but just spoke as I think he was still injured.

Same! I begged to go to One Night Only but for some reason mam wouldn’t let a teenage girl visit London on her own!

By mayhem in Manchester in 98, he was gone and I never got to see him wrestle.

Don’t think I ever saw Hogan but I’m glad about that to be honest.

  3. I love when you boys do these thirsty threads!

    Hangman

    Andrade (and Jose, of course)

    Roman

    Wardlow

    Mox

    Walter

Retro nostalgia ; Bret, Nash, Billy Gunn and I always thought IRS was rather dishy.
I also had an unfortunate dirty dream about Don Callis, so make of that what you will…

  4. I just don’t enjoy him. I find him bland as a wrestler and his entrance infuriates me (especially when he makes his wife, dog and entourage come out of the regular peasant tunnel).

Placing the america v Ogogo match right after the Memorial Day Merica video package at D or N seemed desperate.

That said, he’s seems a great chap outside the ring, so no hate, but I can boo him if I want to!!

  5. Should be a good show.  They are filming about 6 hours worth of content for the next month or so and with the crew all being in Orlando I fully expect to see all those advertised appear.

Jericho cruise talent is massively reduced than previous years, no headliners or title changes expected.  Still wish I was going though!

While being wheeled up, my knob fell out of my shorts and Tony tried to put it back in my boxers for me.

Is this something that ever happens to you all (the falling out part, not the Tony part)? Obviously I don’t have one, but I also don’t recall ever seeing this happen to anyone else.

I dreamt that my big strong 20 stone buddy was drowning and was rescued by none other that the Hulkster.
When he carried him ashore I hugged them both.
Surprisingly, Hulk smelt AMAZING! Like cologne ad worthy.

What’s the best way of asking for a salary range for a position that hasn’t advertised the pay? I’m looking to get out of my job at the moment, and I’m fairly comfortable taking a pay cut just as long as I can still afford my mortgage etc.

I’ve always been discouraged to ask the salary beforehand which I think is fairly ridiculous.

I’ve found the most palatable way to discuss it is to ask (if they don’t ask you first) about ‘salary expectations’ and ‘how much I’m looking for’ in the first conversation. Hopefully that’s with HR/recruiter so doesn’t even register with the hiring manager.

But yeah, no point going through all of the process if the pay is too low- waste of everyone’s time.

Although,  not related to the Plane Ride From Hell, on a side note, why the hell would Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty need to date rape people?  Both good looking guys (in the time period in question) and would not be short of attention.

Guess it boils down to getting a kick out of the power and the "because they can attitude" either way, it is a Psychologists dream.

It’s fascinating isn’t it? Being surrounded by ‘mat rats’ desperate for your attention that at some point that’s not enough and maybe becomes the need to degrade them too.

Even Jake (not quite a heartbreaker)  spoke way back in Beyond the Mat about having endless women willing to fill his bed, day in day out….’ 2 a day. 2 a day with toys’.

I’ll out myself by stating that I am a female- so have even less understanding of what might specifically drive a man to abuse a woman, but I do remember reading a (surely heavily santised) biography of a 90s pop star. He knew he could f any fan- without even chatting to her for 2 minutes. They’d be fighting each other  to be the one who got to go up to his room.  It became boring, he said.

Totally  agree though that some of Janettys stories from what happening in public in commercial flights seem hard to swallow.  Don’t know if anyone has seen the Beefcake clip from 89 where he’s recounting on the antics of the Rockers with glee, the interviewers chuckling and nodding but it made me sick to my stomach.

I have a wild one next week overall, AEW Wednesday, GCW Thursday and Friday and then I bounce over to LA for Halloween Horror Nights in Universal and PWG on Sunday! Gonna be wrecked!

I’m going too and can’t wait! Open air stadium with the sun setting over Manhattan is going to look amazing 🤩

Sadly GCW was sold out for Friday night but I might pop over anyway and see if anyone is selling.

Watched it this morning. How Dreamer thinks anything he said is acceptable is beyond me.

Hopefully this stamps Flair out of a possible AEW deal. I really wasn't looking forward to him turning up.

I know Jericho narrates these but wouldn't he have been on that flight?

He was drafted to SD in 2002 and insurrection was a Raw only PPV- so I don’t believe so.

  11. Watched it last night. Vile.

I was a fan in 2002 and remember hearing bits about this (maybe on here, even!) but thought it was just drunk idiots, fighting, perhaps the odd grope.
That poor girl- having just come back to work from having her baby- disgusting.  She wasn’t some groupie trying to hang with the boys, she was trying to do her job and couldn’t get away, how frightening for her.

No love for Flair and wasn’t looking forward to having him in AEW but I’ll be very upset if they have anything to do with him. I’m sure this wasn’t the only time he behaved like this either.

Craziest thing to read was that Vince AND Linda were onboard and they just let it happen.

  12. Honestly, typically at shows fellow fans completely ignore me and talk over me to my male buddy/date.

This is his first wrestling show. He only came to keep me company. He doesn’t know what any of those words you’re using mean.

Though based on everyone else’s tales of woe perhaps that’s a blessing?

I was once asked if I was a wrestlers girlfriend. As if that’s the only logical explanation to my presence.

Someone new on the staff list at my mate’s place of work. It’s outstanding whichever way round the names are.

Even more outstanding when one considers the name ‘Wang’ translates to King…

  14. I had the absolute pleasure of attending this show (I used to live in Charlotte) and it was totally one of my favorite wrestling nights. I was sat grinning from ear to ear like a fool for most of it. Just superb. The pop for Hangman/DO gave me definite Calgary Stampede vibes. Not sure where they go with this but unlike so many times I have been disappointed in the past, I have faith we’ll get the payoff.

One thing of note for those that don’t review Hangman’s Instagram with as much vigor as I- he and his wife are expecting their first baby. Perhaps he’s looking to take some time off rather than take Kenny’s head off?

Loved the Pinnacles Krypton Factor Chic tracksuits and Dons scandalous shorts. More please!

Everything about AEW (even without Punk and Bryan) makes me excited to tune in. It makes me excited to be a wrestling fan.

  15. Went back to the office Tuesday for the first time since March 2020. It was totally optional, but I was fed up of lounging around the house day after day and am more productive in ‘workspace’.

In a building that once held 1000 people (across 4 floors) I counted 5 people on my floor.
Hello Executive level parking space and a private gym for Ms Sonny!

  16. Totally agree as others have said this flew by (as have other shows, including DorN- never have a second to grab a beer as it’s mostly must see!).

The Hangman story makes me feel like a kid watching wrestling again. The tension between him and Kenny was electric.

So happy to be a fan at this time!

  17. Ugh, hoped the lifting of 10 day quarantine rules for double jabbed returns from Amber countries might mean I could come and see the fam, but alas it’s only for those who got it through the NHS.

Which don’t get me wrong- I totally understand for logistics purposes. Just sad.
Even Christmas looks like a stretch right now and I miss my ma 😢
