  1. He was set to debut the moonsault at Starcade, but the match got cancelled.

Kevin "Consumate professional" Nash pussied out of the match, you mean.

I never understood that rumour. He had enough stroke to refuse to do take the move anyway. He got taken into hospital due to a heart scare (the same kind which killed his Dad off) and didnt turn up at the PPV. Wouldnt Nash have just refused to job and refused to take the move if he really didnt want to take it? It was the biggest money making PPV of the 90s up to that point. Why would he miss out on that payday?

Every wrestling site pretty much reported as fact that Nash was shitting it to take the Giantsault. I don't blame the poor bastard, either. Anyone who let Paul Wight perform that move on them in the WCW Power Plant must have steel, water-melon sized balls.

Has Nash ever addressed this in any of his shoot interviews?

  2. Has Vince Russo always been involved in the wrestling industry or did he come in from elsewhere?

If I'm remembering rightly, he used to own a video shop and do a wrestling radio show. Somehow he parlayed that into a job with WWF magazine, and he became editor of that and then squeezed into the creative staff and took over that because everyone else was about ninety and had no new ideas.

Russo actually got his job at WWF Magazine through Linda McMahon after sending a letter addressed to her personally, as opposed to Vince or the WWF. Rightly, Russo theorised that Linda would read her own mail, whereas someone else would be responsible for dealing with Vince's. Smart thinking, Vinnie Ru.

  3. I was reading about Summerslam 88 on wiki and read this

The original plan for SummerSlam was to bring Ric Flair over from the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) to the WWF. Vince McMahon, the owner of the WWF, wanted Flair to challenge Savage in the main event for the WWF Championship. Flair, however, felt obligated to the NWA and did not leave the promotion for the WWF. Therefore, Hogan and Savage were paired together to end their feuds with their respective on-screen rivals.

Is this just someone making it up or did Vince really plan that?

It's true. In his book, Flair documents a meeting he had with McMahon in 1988 to thrash out a deal. He also goes on to say that signing for the WWF the second time, McMahon insisted they shake on it and told him "When I shake your hand, I'm taking you at your word" because Flair backed out of joining the WWF in '88.

  4. Why was the crowd unbelievably dead on the ECW Matter Of Respect 98 show? Granted it wasn't the greatest show ever, but thats the worst atmosphere I've ever heard on an ECW show.

With that understatement, you just answered your own question, I think.

  5. Why does Undertaker wear eye-liner?

For the same reason he wears leather trousers and make-up: it gives him a cheap thrill that I can't morally explain to you until you're a little older.

Seriously, it's because it enhances the whole 'Dead Man' gothic look. And if he didn't wear it, it would be much more apparent from looking at his eyes how old and knackered he really is.

  6. I was just watching Wrestlemania XIV. In the video package shown before the 'Taker-Kane match, Paul Bearer is shown telling the story of how Undertaker had supposedly burned the funeral home to the ground, killing their parents and scarring Kane for life. During this, Bearer is shown screaming "You are a murderer! You are a murderer! You're a (censored out) murderer!"

Now, trying to lip-read that, I thought he said "You're a cock-sucking murderer," which would have been pushing the envelope even in the Attitude era. However, it was probably "You're a Goddamn murderer."

Does anyone know what was actually said?

  7. I like how The Sun keeps pointing out that his licence condition included not contacting the other dude involved in the murder or the Bulger family, when theres no suggestion that he tried to do that at all.

I think it's The Sun themselves that are making that suggestion, Soap.

  8. To all you do gooders, that are saying he should not be harmed, and they where only 10

I do hope you never ever have kids. These two should have rotted for natural life for what they did. Being 10 is no defence. With any luck the father will find out where they are and do what he said on tv.

If the man gets found out and fucked up, so what maybe just maybe he might feel a tiny bit of the terror that baby did when they killed him on the railway tracks by chucking rocks at his head while he screamed for his mummy.

Here, here. Post of the fucking day right there.

  9. From today's copy of The Sun:

ONE of the killers of toddler James Bulger was back in prison last night after breaching the conditions of his release.

Jon Venables, now 27, broke strict rules which include a ban on him contacting his fellow murderer Robert Thompson or the Bulger family.

Venables and Thompson - given new identities when freed in 2001 - killed two-year-old James on Merseyside in 1993.

The mother of murdered James said last night that Venables' arrest was "justice" for her son.

Murdered ... James Bulger, twoDenise Fergus spoke out on her Twitter site: "Would like to let everyone know jon venables is where he belongs tonight behind bars this is my sons justice."

Her husband Stuart Fergus added that he was "thinking when will this all end for my wife!!!"

News of Venables' return to prison came two weeks before James would have celebrated his 19th birthday.

Venables and his killer pal Thompson were handed new identities when they were freed in 2001 - along with a list of conditions, banning them from contacting each other or the Bulger family.

CCTV film ... James is led awayVenables was also ordered not to return to Merseyside - where he and Thompson committed their terrible crime when they were ten - without the written consent of his probation officer.

A spokesman for Denise, 42, said: "She has always said she did not believe it was safe to parole Venables and Thompson at the age of 18 before they had ever spent a day in an adult prison.

"She believes this breach of parole shows she was right.

Worry ... mum Denise"The Probation Service has promised to keep Denise informed about progress in the case and has assured her she was not in danger at any time.

"But she believes she and the public have a right to know what Venables has done and what is to be done with him now he is an adult offender."

Venables was locked up again after being subject to "immediate recall". He will remain behind bars INDEFINITELY until the Parole Board decides if and when he can be re-released.

In theory, he could be kept inside for the rest of his life.

It was not clear if he had re-offended or broken other terms of his parole.

A Ministry of Justice spokeswoman said last night: "We can confirm Jon Venables has been recalled to custody following a breach of licence conditions.

"Offenders on licence are subject to strict conditions. If they breach those conditions they are subject to immediate recall."

Hunt ... cops gather evidence where body was found in 1993Criminal law expert Michael Wolkind QC said there was a "significant chance" the breach had been serious after all the trouble taken by the authorities to arrange Venables' new life.

The torture and murder of James after he was snatched from a Bootle shopping mall shocked the world.

The pals threw modelling paint in the tot's face, kicked him and beat him with bricks, stones and a 22lb iron bar. Then they stuffed batteries in his mouth.

James' mutilated body was found on a railway line in nearby Walton two days later. His injuries were so severe medics were unable to determine how he died.

    Freed ... Robert Thompson

Venables and Thompson - the youngest children to be convicted of murder in English history - were freed amid controversy over how long they should have served.

And in an unprecedented move, they were granted anonymity for the rest of their days.

Even the jail where Venables is being held cannot be disclosed because of a legal injunction.

He is there under his assumed name, but other lags may soon cotton on to his true identity.

It is not even possible to tell how Venables has changed from the last picture of him when he was a boy.

He is entitled to launch an appeal in a bid to regain his freedom.

Laurence Lee, his solicitor at the time of the 1993 murder, said last night he was "shocked" by the dramatic development.

  10. Well, I hope he gets the boiling-kettle-with-sugar-in-it treatment, the evil fucking bastard.

Would you have wished the same treatment on him when he first committed the crime as a ten-year-old?

No. But I would have liked him to live in fear of the fact that it might happen as a ten-year-old. And I would have liked him to be unshadowed by the cloak of anonymity when he was released from prison.

  11. I've recently noticed the tattoo on Hogan's forearm. When did he get this, and what's the meaning behind it?

It says "I Am That, I Am". It's from the bible. He got it when he went all "DDP" after his divorce and turned into a positive religulous freak. He got it done mid-2009.

    Thank ye for that.

Yeah, I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing. It just doesn't look right on him.

  12. UFC 21 is the absolute worst of the UFC 20s. I've watched it once only since I bought the 21-22 DVD set, but wore out UFC 22. That Tito Ortiz-Frank Shamrock war really lives up to the hype...

The most disappointing UFC ever for me has to be UFC 61: Bitter Rivals. What a fucking abortion that was. One half of the co-main event didn't get started (Tito-Ken II) and the other was the most boring, plodding affair since the Shamrock-Severn "superfight".

  13. Ive met afair few famous people mostly bands and westlers that im not gonna bother getting into, but one that should be mentioned was being at a Limp Bizkit/soulfly after show party and chatting to fred durst and wes borland.

it was just after Limp got off tour with Faith No More and me and my mate storm was asking about them about FNM and what Patton was like?

Wes was really into Patton and Mr Bungle so we were chatting about them loads, but Fred Dust said they suck live and are totally overatted, so we just ignored him.

ANYWAY 6 months later we saw Limp Bizkit (AGAIN  ) i think it was with Korn and we bumped into Fred at The Chicken Shop by the Astoria. He looked at us and was like "hey your those kids from the party" and storm was like "hey yor that prick who doesn't like FNM" then started laughing at him and e walked away

Out of order on my part i know but since alot of people i know who really like Limp Bizkit have told me they met Durst and he was nothing bt a prick to them, So fuck him and limp bizkit up their stupid asses! (Plus with the millions he's made since im sure we're not keeping him awake at night)

I've met Fred on several occasions, being a Limp Bizkit superfan. I worked on the official LB website as a teenager and got to know the band on the official chat. I exchanged AOL/MSN with Fred and Wes and found them both to be great guys. They were HUGE at the time and made themselves extremely accessible to fans, always on the official chat and putting on free shows and shit at that time (1999-2001).

When I met Fred, I told him who I was, hoping he'd remember me but doubting it. Surprisingly he did and I spoke to him for a good half-hour. He told me how much he loves Scotland, having played here when the band first started out and remembering the fires in the crowd and how racous our metal community is. He also told me he'd attended a Hearts-Hibs game that was "dope" (it finished 4-4). He just seemed like a very down-to-earth, decent guy.

I've got Fred Durst and Sam Rivers on Xbox Live as well. This further re-affirms my belief that Durst is a decent guy. He's shit at videogames though. He told me the other day he's called his dog Halo, after the game. Sad fucker.

I've met Jordan, did the security as a one-off a few years ago at a Superdrug in Glasgow where she was shilling her new perfume. She's tiny. Also an absolute fucking tramp, every second word out of her mouth is fucking this, fucking that.

I met Eminem in 2000 at Cube nightclub. Can't really gauge how much of a nice guy he was. I only got a couple of minutes of talking to him before he got mobbed.

  14. The eighties feuds involving Hogan were given added momentum from collisions with his opponents in SummerSlam, Survivor Series and Royal Rumble matches before the sole singles match at 'Mania. So they can't really be taken into contention, with the exception of Hogan-Warrior - and you know what I'm going to say about that...

What do you mean by "collisions"? You mean tag matches and suchlike? Because I'm pretty sure his feud with Earthquake didn't feature that, or his feud with Andr

  15. Another thing. I was suspended on the UKFF for aparently saying a racist joke but here on this thread the offending word which i wont say as i fear permanment ban is being said in a joking context. If the moderators here dont suspend the people here for the same then poor show that the forum moderators will have one rule for their favorites and one rule for people that they are dying to have an excuse to ban.

Tommy missing context as per usual. This thread, a thread about masturbating while drunk turns into some harmless faux "your racist" talk where someone says the word "nigger" with absolutely no context (also receiving zero reports). While good ol dangerously420 here posted the following:

President Barack Obama was informed that that he was going to be receving a papal visit from the Vatican. He replied back to one of his close aides that "I aint ordered not italian shit from ebay ni**a"

IN A THREAD WHERE SOMEONE ASKED ABOUT PAYPAL

If the new people stick to the rules, the first thing they'll do is ban you. Previously banned members can't sign up. You should be grateful for the fact that you are even allowed to pollute the forum.

Something he ALWAYS forgets by the way.

The UKFF management needs a shake up i think with new people being in charge.

May as well announce it here, but I've recently handed in my 30 day notice to Moo. We've parted amicably, and my replacement is going to be selected in a "UKFF's Next Top Moderator" type event.

Good luck with your future endeavors.

  16. Hmmm, you're a hard man to please. We'll have to disagree on Batista/Trips, then.

What about Y2J/Michaels? Their second match after WM19 wasn't really so much part of the feud as it was a facilitator for Jericho's next one.

I would certainly class their feud in 2008 as one of my all-time favourites. Everything they did was absolutely perfect from the Jeri-tron incident post-Backlash up until their classic ladder match at No Mercy and everything in-between. One of the highlights of BOTH men's careers - and that's a strong statement when Michaels is involved.

Like Michaels-'Taker from this year, Jericho-HBK in 2003 was a one-match feud (and like Taker-'Michaels, that one match was a classic) that would have been great if it had been extended further.

  17. Triple H/Batista did have matches after WM, but THE big match was at WM, and if they hadn't had the last two matches, just that match alone would've made the feud.

I strongly disagree with this. Given, it was an excellent build-up in the months prior to WrestleMania, but it was the post-'Mania momentum that made the feud a great one - and the final match at Vengeance is still, in my opinion, the highlight of Batista's career.

Cena/JBL and Rock/Austin, I'll give you those. But how about Triple H/Cena and Angle/Lesnar? Even if you accept just one of those as good examples, you accept that sometimes a good-to-great feud CAN be made by one match, no?

Triple H/Cena was such a God-awful feud that I'm glad it lasted only one match. The build-up was awful, with HHH belittling Cena on television and making it sound like it was going to be the biggest squash in WWE history. I'm sure you remember the famous line: "Do you really think I'm going to lose the title to a guy whose biggest move is pumping up his Reeboks?"

I wouldn't say Angle-Lesnar was a particularly 'great' feud either, but it was certainly decent due to having a much longer period than two months to build upon. I'd classify it in the same way I would HBK-'Taker - if the feud had extended into a series of matches, it may have been a classic encounter.

  18. I would have voted for the Michaels-'Taker feud if it had involved a series of matches, as everything they did was top-notch. However, it just didn't go on for long enough, and one match does not a great feud make, I'm afraid.

That's just not true. Most of the best feuds of the 80s were only one match, you can't just discount them. And even some of the best ones of recent years were only one match - Triple H/Batista, Triple H/Cena, Cena/JBL, Rock/Austin (in each stretch at a time), Angle/Lesnar as well - all these had just one big match after a load of build-up through angles, segments and promos.

If you want to go back further, there's pretty much all of Hogan's big feuds, same with most of the big names in the WWF at the time.

    Right, you.

The feuds of the eighties were stretched over a much longer period than the two month Michaels-'Taker conflict. Most of them were built on strong angles and months of build-up prior to the match.

Of the feuds you reference, but one of them lasted but one match. The HHH-Batista feud culminated at Vengeance 2005 after matches at Wrestlemania and Backlash. Rock-Austin (1999) featured matches at Wrestlemania and Backlash, Cena-JBL featured matches at Wrestlemania and Judgment Day (feuding on TV for the two months in-between) and Rock-Austin 2 subtly started in December 2000 and carried on through to the post-Mania Raw, during the course of which they had collided at Armageddon and Royal Rumble before the two singles matches (Wrestlemania and the following night's RAW).

  19. Punk/Hardy, the obvious and correct choice.

Solidified CM Punk as a main-eventer and that suits me just fine. Did the other feuds deliver anything like this one? I don't think so.

    This.

I would have voted for the Michaels-'Taker feud if it had involved a series of matches, as everything they did was top-notch. However, it just didn't go on for long enough, and one match does not a great feud make, I'm afraid.
