  1. I think I worded my question badly, let me try to explain. So if a company has a budget of 1000 USD for arguements sake, what % of that would be allocated for talent?

And the second question would be for bigger companies, if I worked for WWE/aew and they sold one of my t shirts, what % of the profits would I expect? Basically how much does stone cold get for each stone cold shirt sold?

    Hope that makes sense.

  2. Hi all, does anyone know if there is an industry standard (for either big or indie companies that make a profit) for a revenue split for talent and expenses. Like, how much of the profits are usually reserved for talent? Also with thinks like merch, what is a normal split between companies and talent. Would really appreciate any help with this. Thanks in advance if you can help.

  3. Hi everyone, I am looking for examples of the old switcheroo gimmick, used by twins or guys who wear the same outfit (like the Villainous gimmick or um. . Los conquistadors). If you have ever seen this gimmick done well or effectively I would really appreciate it if you could let me know about it. Thanks in advance.

  4. Why do you think he decided to do the whole 'never challenge for a title gimmick? I assumed he was going to challenge and turn heel breaking his promise but he has been meandering around a turn for a long old time  now. You think there will be any payoff for this?

Nope, not having that as a redeeming factor. If more people "had a clue when it comes to the voting booth", then nobody would have to rely on donations for healthcare, housing, legal aid or funeral expenses.

Rich people being able to donate to their mates and causes they care about, while the rest of us have much less say in which good causes get funding, is the right-libertarian wet dream and shouldn't be celebrated.

He made it, he has shared some of his wealth. That's at least decent. This arguement is insane to me. He should have used his 1 vote better? Or his platform to promote a better political  message? Even if that were true  I don't see how that negates the simple good of helping people out.

  6. Hi all, I hope you guys can help, I'm about to get all 6th form philosophy student but I have a question I'd really appreciate any input. What is wrestling? I have had trouble defining it in the past but didn't dwell on it much. I a recent discussion with a friend who hates wrestling but loves things that I consider very similar like kung Fu movies or big fight scenes. I realised I couldn't accurately define what it was.  There is the obvious distinction of wrestling (usually) being a live performance but the recent cinematic matches have changed that. Are they wrestling?  How would you define pro wrestling?

Apologies if this has come up before, I couldn't find it.

I enjoyed the episode but the narrative that was peddled about Rikidozans death was just stupid. A simple wiki check from anyone can tell you about the events of Rikidozan's death.

I may be misunderstanding you but I think they said that North Korean sentiment at the time believed the patriotic/tragic death of Rikidozan.  Not that I have any idea if that is true or not.

  8. Hi guys. I was watching some old Mid South and I saw this Dusty Promo

later on the show they talked of an 'Unsanctioned' match, Dusty could wear what he does on his ranch and can paint his face for war (?!) but there is no mention of the match in the following shows. Did this match ever happen?

  9. Hi guys, simple topic, if booking 101 was taught as a class, what eras or bookers would you use as great examples for people to study and learn from? Would really appreciate any input on this! Thanks in advance if you can help.

You just know which wrestlers see nothing wrong here.

I love the idea that these fellas making it to Mars on a boat wouldn't be the greatest achievement mankind has ever managed.

  11. Well that Dragon gate stuff is fucking horrific. The stuff with Will to me seems like he believed a friend rather than actively supported a rapist but that's just my opinion I guess. It's weird because he was always a guy I disliked personally, but I guess it makes more sense to me, somewhere between Occam's razor and faith in humanity. However I can't know why he did it and There is a genuine victim here and it isn't my place to speculate.  It's an awful situation I find very hard to find any moral ground I'm comfortable with. How should Will be punished? How should Polly be compensated? What is justice here? I am really hesitant to type anything on here that looks like I'm defending him. But I have a hard time believing he willfully knew she was a victim and supported her abuse as that's totally psychopathic.  I just have a hard time with internet justice as opposed to due legal process.

TL/DR it seems like a lot accusations it's impossible to know the truth of. So umm what the fuck should I think here? So worried about posting this and I am trying not to disrespect anyone .

The promotion who were threatened with losing their venue confirmed it was true and apologised. In the end it's New Japan, they hired Elgin after his dodgy shit, Honma after the domestic violence accusations and I'm sure many others (I'm unsure what the Takagi, Sabre or Owens incidents were). They don't really give a shit.

I don't think they give a shit you are right there. But apologies, when you say 'the promotion confirmed it was true.' What did they confirm? I am a little bit out of the loop because the lack of due process made it hard to see the wood from the trees. I'm not trying to be a prick or defend anyone but I've never been quite sure what he was  accused of, and the sensitive nature of this topic makes it hard to have a good faith discussion about it.

  13. Correct me if I'm wrong, (Please do, I'm not trying to take a side here) Isn't the Ospreay stuff all skuttle butt? I never saw any evidence to base an opinion on.

    This is from a match with Naoki Sano in 1990 but it’s the only footage coming up when I search;

But from what I can tell he debuted the move against Masakatsu Funaki in 1987. So must’ve been right at the start of his run with the Liger gimmick.

It mentioned in the observer this week that he debut it in 87. I thought it would be a well remembered moment but seems to have been an under the radar thing I guess. Thanks for taking your time looking. Appreciated.

  15. Hi all, I was having a lively discussion with a couple of friends about Japanese Pro wrestling  and we all had our own definition of Kings Road style and how it related to modern NJPW. I wondered what the consensus would be. Non of us were very confident we were correct, as we all realized we hadn't really defined it before.  How would you A) Define kings road and B) say how today's NJPW differs from that style?

Khabib beats him 7 or 8 times out of 10.

This is pure fan boy maddness. We have seen 1 fight Khabib won withoutout ever being in danger. Never been knocked down, never been in serious trouble. Yet in some deluded mma maths somehow Conor wins 3/2 out of ten. No evidence at all to support this. You are wrong.

  17. Man that was an awful presser. I would have had to take time off work to watch this live and this has made me think catching the highlights will be fine. Cowboy went  full bitch, thanking Conor and did he really have a go at the one decent journalist in the room?! What a fucking yes man. Bmf ranch my arse. He did a fawning IG post this week

You are just like me! Thank you Cowboy! His gimmick is kinda like if Stone cold was a model employee.
