  1. Perhaps the one thing that puts me off FSM more than anything is its "left-field" views. This is a terrible phrase I am using but it is the only one that comes to mind when I am attempting to explain what I mean here. It's comments such as the one regarding Kevin Nash looking out for himself like it is a negative and the articles that big up the independent scene more than it deserves to be; there were way too many comments when I last read the magazine saying how much greater pro wrestling would be if it was the smaller, indy companys in the mainstream public's eye. It's as far away from my point of view on wrestling as is possible, and that is the main reason I wouldn't buy it. Sorry to sound so pessimistic(sp?) about it but that's my opinion for what it's worth and I wish you all the best with FSM, Bryan.

  2. ^ Yeah, I remember that happening. I think it was in an issue of Power Slam where I read about the referees ruling matches that way. Obviously on a live airing such as Raw or PPV's all of the wrestlers' theme musics and on-screen graphics will have been set up prior to the shows going ahead hence why I was wondering how they went around it. As I imagine though, it's probably never happened. Cheers anyway though Ian.

I wrote that before I saw your reply, Raid. I did read something about that but I can't remember who was involved either. I'm not so curious that I'll be getting a dose of AIDs anytime soon, though.

  3. Are there any famous examples of the wrong person winning a match? IE the wrestlers or referee botching the ending completely? I read somewhere that the refs are to count as if it were a legit contest. It should probably go without saying that Montreal doesn't count here.

  4. This is the greatest thread I have ever read on here. Almost every post has been superb and the full flow has had such a feel good vibe to it, top marks all round! Pitcos's post is probably the second best post I've seen on here, if not the best and even posters like Cobra have made me laugh out loud.

  5. However in a time where WWE has such a monopoly over the western wrestling industry, a devoted wrestling magazine would be mad not to put the promotion over. At the moment, WWE IS wrestling. There is no WCW or NWA that Powerslam can divert wrestling fans onto. TNA is still nowhere near, and am I right in thinking Powerslam hate them too anyway?

They loved the '05-'06 era if I remember correctly and were delighted when the fans voted TNA the promotion of the year in the year end awards. However I think that his love for the group faded in '08ish and at the point I stopped reading, he wasn't a fan of them at all.

  6. I bought each and every issue of Power Slam without fail from 139 all the way up until around last christmas. I can honestly thank the magazine for getting me back into wrestling and introducing me to the 'insider' world of wrestling, for lack of a better phrase. I will also say that since I stopped reading the magazine, I have enjoyed watching wrestling a dozen times more than I did before.

However, I can probably say that the same went for the period of time that I didn't read this forum much. That's not a dig, it's just part and parcel of reading a forum such as this.

Wrestling magazines like Power Slam and forums such as this can be a huge asset in helping us remain fans of the industry, though they can also be a detriment.

  7. WWE Hardcore title to return?

    Taken from WWE.com:

"For some time, the WWE Universe has been salivating over the possible return of the defunct Hardcore Championship on Twitter and Facebook.

Now, in light of Mick Foley's return on RAW GETS ROCKED this past Monday to reinstate "This is Your Life!," hope has never been stronger as to whether this could actually happen. WWE.com pleads with the The Hardcore Legend to lead the charge and bring back WWE's most brutal titles."
