  1. Oh, do shut up.

I think I have a right to defend myself when I'm constantly being ripped by the clique of neil-wannabe dipshits.

I'm all for a bit of flippancy, but this place used to be mixed with other stuff too. The pack mentality now is just stunning. Personally I find the social behavioural element of this stuff interesting, sorry if you don't. I think it's a direct result of LOL-LET'S-MAKE-NEIL-A-MOD-LOL. Now that the pack has decided that I'm fair game for being ripped on, it's open season, and thanks for joining in.

You have to admit that it must be hard to be an "alright poster" when you're constantly on the defense. I can't post anything without being jumped on. Look back over the last month since I've come back from being suspended, the vast majority of abuse headed my way, I've not responded to, just reported and tried to get on with posting normally. But I'm not prepared to be bullied off the forum, just because it's been decided that I'm not in with the cool kids any more.

And I'm sure everyone will respond with, "self-pitying scouser" or an irreverent picture, or "shut up, you're boring" or more of these classic avoidance tactics.

You not exactly endearing yourself to anyone though are you? Calling people dipshits and the like whilst throwing a paddy after being called a cunt amongst other things smacks of the double standards you're trying to play out.

As for pack mentality? Maybe they are just tired of your postings? No?

Anyway, why would you want to chat amongst us, you're clearly way too intelligent for us and as you probably suspect, always in the right.

Give it a rest and have a break please.

    Regards

  2. Depends who owns the rights to the design I suppose. ECW had the winged eagle belt as their TV/FMW title and the ECW tag titles were the IC belt design, so I can only imagine that Reg Parks designed those belts back in the day. Considering how long its been around, the big gold belt might have been designed with an outside party as well, so the WWE probably doesnt own the rights to the design.

The big gold is pretty much open source. Crumrine of Rodeo, Nevada made the original one and only one other copy has been produced of it. The design wasn't copyrighted at the time which allowed anyone and everyone to make their own version. WWE only owns the version/s they designed, (i.e. The one you currently see on tv or anything with a WWE logo on it.) but still hold the copyrights to that specific design too so it can't be copied outright or even slightly modified. Each maker has their own unique twist on it. The NWA World Heavyweight title design is open for all too but there is a $150 fee for using the NWA initials/logo. The NWA DG was said to have been made in Mexico but it's not for definite.

The ECW versions of the the wigned eagle TV/FTW and IC tag-team belts were done by Mike Vartanian who sparingly makes belts these days and is pretty hard to get a hold of if your not familar with the Tri-State area scene, even then it is a hassle. He bootlegged the designs as have many others. Reggie Parks did design them and does hold the copyrights to those belts. Reggie Parks and the Midwest team now actively pursue legality and copy issues where possible, the most recent case was WWE re-introducing the old style IC title. Their design had been slightly modified but not enough for it to be deemed an entirely new belt. Joe Marshall (J-Mar, WWE's principle belt maker.) made the belt, the Midwest team were probably in process of suing for copyright infringement but it has been resolved one way or another as Dave Millican made the current one used on TV (Without the nugget texture.) Reggie Parks and Dave Millican can make certain WWE & WWF belts for the public but WWE's logo fees alone are $1000 per belt.

As for the replica belts issue, WWE would more than likely have cases but it would be too time consuming and a waste of money to pursue. They make money off them through the Figs Inc deal as does the Midwest team (Off certain designs.) so as long as promotions don't go claiming they are the WWE/WWF there isn't too much of a problem. WWE also makes money from replica AWA and WCW titles too as they own all the copyrights to the respective promotions.

The XWA title does not have a sticker on it, the logo is etched into the belt which was made by Wildcat Belts.

EDIT: Hope this helps. If you want to know anymore info on belts, go to Belt Talk

  3. Some tit who I work with is facing the sack for CC'ing everyone an e-mail about them.

Just out of curiosity, what was the email? Was he jokng about the groups views and/or very existence? Or was it a serious "these guys are good lads" type email?

    Full blown support.

Edit: Cheers for the explanation Merzbow. I didn't really have the time or space to do a search about them before.

  4. Sorry for my ignorance of not searching this thread but has anyone heard of or had any encounters with Britain First?

Some tit who I work with is facing the sack for CC'ing everyone an e-mail about them. I had a quick nosey at their site Britain First and laughed a whole lot. I wouldn't even say the website is thinly veiled to the out and out racism it spews. They should have just gone ahead and said WE HATE NON WHITES in big letters and linked themselves with the KKK, fucking idiots.

I don't see them doing any damage anywhere but it is worrisome that another group is going down the same route as the BNP and the like. When will they ever learn?

  5. The Vegas gold was used in WCW in 1994 after the Masked Man Hits Hulk's Knee angle too.

I've never seen clear footage to verify it to be honest though it would not surprise me considering Ric Flair owned it until he gave it to Triple H a few years back. Good job he did otherwise he probably would have pawned it by now.

EDIT: I'm fucking stupid. I have seen that footage but thank-you for posting it. I'll be straight with you, I'm not a WCW fan so no wonder it flew over my head.

  6. When Ric Flair showed up in the WWF in the early 90s and proclaimed himself the "real world champion", what belt did he bring with him? It looks like the NWA one, but surely he didn't have permission to wear it on WWF TV, did he?

It was the original Big Gold belt.

Your best bet is to look up on places like wikipedia for a more detailed answer to this, im sure someone with more time will fill in the gaps as well.

But basically, Ric Flair got into a bust up with Jim Herd and left WCW/NWA in 91. At the time the champion had to put down a 25K deposit against the belt when they won it. Ric Flair had actually never reclaimed his as he was holding onto the belt most of the time so just left it there when he didnt have the title.

As he was NWA champion when he joined the WWF in 91 he asked for his 25K back to no avail and decided instead rumour has it to fedex the belt to Vince, who started the story with bobby heenan proclaming the Real Worlds Champion was coming.

When flair did arrive he had the Big Gold Belt around his waist during entrances etc, without any permision of course from WCW/NWA. Eventually they won a legal battle and the belt was returned. however the WWF then made there own almost identical version of the belt which was then banned and then used a blurred tag title on TV. The whole angle was dropped pre flair winning the rumble in 1992

On the WCW side, they had to use an ancient North American title belt temporarily during the Luger Vs Windham title match, then created the recently more famous due to SVR games - WCW title belt this raigned as the main belt till 1994. Even when returned the big gold belt was only briefly used for the sometimes seperated/ sometimes not NWA title for a very short time as WCW left the NWA in 92/93 i believe. It was then called the Big Gold Belt and then the WCW International title until it was merged back with the WCW Title in early 94 for the arrival of Hogan and the Big Gold Belt was kept and the title belt.

Here's what I posted in the Best Looking Belts thread from July:

Ric Flair actually owned the Big Gold in principle, Crockett gave him the belt during the transition with Ted Turner. This is what led him to bring it to the WWF in 1991. WCW filed court action and Ric Flair gave the belt back to WCW after they refunded his $25,000 deposit (As per NWA tradition.) plus extra. (The figure was never disclosed.) That's just the general jist of it to be honest. it's a lot more complicated than made out. Due to that happening WCW had Dusty Rhodes PWF belt trophy shop plated over and was used as the companies World title at the GAB 1991 which Lex Luger won. Unless a belt is being replaced, the champion usually has to pay out of their own pocket if they want a copy of the belt.

IIRC the Vegas Big Gold was made after the WCW filed action against Flair using the Big Gold on WWF tv. It was made to play out the 'real worlds champion' angle Flair had entered the comapny with. The shape of the plate and general design were kept but obviously had to be altered so that WCW could not file anymore cases.

  7. Enzo Macarinelli's Light Heavyweight debut takes place tonight on boxnation from 8, anyone watching?

I won't be, the last time I watched him he got tanked by Alexander Frenkel. He should have quit there and then, it's frightening that he still wants to box on.

  8. Has anyone ever cheated on their girlfriend?

I kissed some girl when away for a Wedding Holiday type thing, and both of us were so drunk (not that that is an excuse) and it didn't last long, she was a girl i liked way before my girlfriend came on the scene. but I've never cheated on anyone before and feel like shit, cause my girlfriend is actually amazing, even though we've only been going out for 2 months...

thoughts? do i tell my lady what happened? I think I should, but i think thats our relationship fucked.

You're going to tell her, might not be today or the next but you will. The guilt is already consuming you and posting this upon here means that you're not the type to just do it and hide it away.

Every time you look in the mirror I bet you hate yourself for it, if you don't tell her the truth and it comes out, you'll be well and truly fucked.

Just get it over and done with, if you lose her at least you were honest and then you can carry that experience over to the next relationship. One way or another it will come out.

  9. My favourite theory is that the building was taken down with explosives and/or missiles. All the TV footage of the planes and subsequent photos are fake. Also all the accounts on the day are fake. The real planes are being held in Alaska or something and the people on board being held in a NWO camp.

Quality, I'd love to see them piece it all together or the reasoning behind the accusations.

Also, how do you fake a real plane crashing into a building?

  10. If these conspiracy/truthers took a little time out to lookup how the twin towers were made then I think they'd understand a little better on as to why they felled. As people have said planes hit them and the aftermath of the damage that they caused led to the collapse.

It isn't as straightforward as that but it's the truth.

I've always been fascinated by tall buildings and slowly more information has come out of the past few years going into depth about how the twin towers were made, from what I've read up on, the evidence reports to that there was no way an outer load bearing steel building could withstand and safely be repaired to a functioning standard after a plane or serious incident occurred to its frame. Especially with magnitude of size and weight these buildings stood.

Also the buildings would have had to be taken down at somepoint in the future, even if they stood today, I don't think they would have had a lifespan longer than 50 years in them. The cost of maintaining them, modernisation and bringing them up to current day health and safety standards would not be worth it.

  11. Anyone who mentioned Deathnote in this thread - wins.

When it comes to movie vs anime with deathnote both have their own pluses. The animes extra time to focus on the intricate details of the plot however is fantastic and it's deffinatly worth watching even if you've seen the live action movies.

Naruto, Bleach and Full Metal are also good watches.

You'd sit well in my brothers company, he's gone full on with these two at the moment even going as far as getting a tattoo of Naruto Uzumaki. (I had to look that name up.) He's also started building a collection of stuff related to it too, no idea where he gets the money for it though.

The only Anime/Manga I've ever really had patience for is Guyver and Mad Bull 34, the latter being utterly lowbrow and stupid but I think that is why I liked it.

  12. Since when has the back of the World Heavyweight Championship belt been red?

Since J-Mar (WWE's beltmaker.) made their new 3D Big Gold. Every version made by him usually has tweaks made to it so it is unique and be easily pointed out should it fall into the wrong hands. The backing is Bergundy/Red faux alligator skin similar to the type used on Steve Austin's Smoking Skull belt.
