  1. The original desire videos were made for wrestlers who at the time planned to retire (Undertaker and Steve Austin). Due to their popularity more were made.

I don't believe this is the case. When was Undertaker exactly planning on retiring? The first one was 'My Sacrifice' with all the stars. IIRC, after that there were some 'individual' ones, and then of course the awesome Kid Rock History of WWE video that Flair played to convince Vince not to bring in the NWO.
  2. My macho fight story:I got pissed and showed this twat my arse and told him to kiss it. I walked home, when all of a sudden I find myself on the floor, this guy kicking me. I get up, try to throw a punch but land on the floor again, where he pucnes me in the nose. He runs off and I have a messy face.I have a very, very long fuse and can't remember a single time where I've been pushed ot the limits of wanting a fight.

  3. Mankind vs The Undertaker - WWF In Your House 14

The 'Revenge of Taker' match?Good match, but if you don't mind me asking, why did you choose this over the umpteen other Mankind vs. taker matches that (I think) are all better.
Simple. The other Taker vs Mankind match that beats this IMO would be the Hell in the Cell match from King of the Ring 98. But we have all seen those clips a million times over so you would hardly forget it would you. I also chose this for the head first dive that Foley does through the announce table. I think the match is really good.
Damn, forget about that awesome table bump. Yeah, good match, but I much prefer HIAC (you've explained why you wouldn't take that), Boiler Room Brawl and Buried Alive matches. Each to their own though. :)
  4. Do you not get SD & Raw form anyone any more?

Nah. Lost interest in early 2003. Only seen a few comps and WM 19 & 20 since then. Getting all PPV's I missed shortly though. Whether or not I'll actually watch them is a totally different matter. That FF button will probably come in handy, what with all the non-Nash stuff.

Oh, and what business have you got calling Austin vs. Hart the best match of the decade when Austin vs. Rock exists?

  5. TAKA Michinoku/Sho Funaki/Dick Togo/Shiryu/Men's Teioh vs. Gran Naniwa/Super Delfin/Tiger Mask IV/Masato Yakushiji/Gran Hamada - MPW 3rd anniversary ShowQuit simply awe-inspring. Non-stop lightning fast stuff, with the opening square-offs when they were still cool, the funny spots from Delfin and co, the great dick heel spots from Kainetai DX, leading into the cool flying/diving sequences, leading into the EVEN COOLER flying/diving sequences and near falls. Best 10-man ever, including Canadian Stampede. I just wish I could remember what tape of mine this is on because I have a real urge to wtach it.

Terje, if you're still looking at the thread, you may know what tape this match is on? I think I got it off you...
It's probably on the Michinoku Pro at Sumo Hall tape, also known as "These Days". I don't have it on any comps, so if you got it from me, it has to be on that tape. Unless I made you a comp. BTW, you're late in sending Raw & Smackdown to me
I think you may be right. And believe me, if I did tape SD & Raw for you still, I wouldn't send you SmackDown out of compassion. I don't want you to go through that. Do you not get SD & Raw form anyone any more?Oh, and what business have you got calling Austin vs. Hart the best match of the decade when Austin vs. Rock exists? :p

  8. Randy Savage vs. Ultimate Warrior - WM 7It was close between this and warrior vs. Hogan for Warrior's match, but this match has pretty much every reason I'm a wrestling fan thrown into it. Great story, great heat, great post-match angle, great commentary and a great carry job from savage. What WrestleMania is all about.Rock vs. Austin - WM X7Ten years later, Rock and Austin have another match that defines what the glitz, glamour and drama of WWF is all about. Add in that this IMO, is Austin's single greatest performance ever, subtly turning on the heelness, abolsutely DESPERATE to snatch that title from The Rock who just won't stay down, until Stone Cold does the unthinkable and sells his soul to the devil himself.Jay Briscoe vs. Samoa Joe, Cage Match - ROH At Our BestAsk em this in a year or so and this may not be here, but I just watched it last night. Wrote about it in the 'what tapes are you getting/watching' thread. Love the match, one of my fave Cage Matches ever, and easily my fave ROH match ever.Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog - SummerSlam 1992One of the greatest WRESTLING matches in WWF history, in front of a huge, rabid crowd, feels like a crowning moment in Bulldog's career. Great, great match.Eddie Guerrero vs. John Bradshaw LayfieldSay what you want, this match was only good because of the bladejob blah blah blah, SO WHAT? Pure, unadulterated entertinament for me. The crowd are so into Eddie killing Bradshaw, then comes the bladejob from hell!~~ He fucking HULKS UP from it and does the Eddie Dance whilst bleeding like a stuck pig!~~ Keep your Great Muta bladejobs, Eddie is the new king of colour! If I hadn't used eddie here, Black Tiger/Sasuke vs. Benoit/Ohtani would have been coming with me. So...Chris Benoit vs. Great Sasuke - Super J Cup FinalI'm sure this had been talked about 900 times before, so I'll just leave it at I'm taking this because it's FUCKING AWESOME.Mitsuharu Misawa vs. Toshiaki Kawada - 6/3/94Quite possibly the greatest match ever. They go at it for over 40 minutes of non-stop action. Misawa's bleeds weird black stuff from his ear and they completely rip into each other for the most prestigious title in the world at that point. Misawa's Tiger Driver '91 is the perfect ending.TAKA Michinoku/Sho Funaki/Dick Togo/Shiryu/Men's Teioh vs. I just wish I could remember what tape of mine this is on because I have a real urge to wtach it.Shawn Michaels vs. Mankind - Mind GamesI don't care about the finish, these two went out there with very little build-up and in the home of ECW, blew away anythign ECW did that year. These two were ON that night.Goldberg vs. Hollywood Hogan - Georgia Dome NitroI was a massive Goldberg fan at the time. He was just about the hottest thing in wrestling, and had never really mixed it up with the main eventers. This match just came out of nowhere, and no one really thought they were going to give Goldberg the title on a non-PPV show. So when Goldberg hit the Spear and Jackhammer, with the crowd at fever pitch,a nd there was no NWO run-in, I couldn't beleive he'd actually dethroned Hogan. Unbelievable. So, there's my ten.

  9. Anyone used to run their own little promotions with these bad boys?I know I did...The highlight was certainly my ultra-violent Mr Perfect vs Jake Roberts feud, where I got loads of weapons form assorted action figures of the time.Oh, and my Bret Hart vs Brutus Beefcake feud. They were a tag team called The Pink and Black Attack (both wore pinka and black, you see) but Bret turned on Bruti!Thinking back, Hogan should have come in and avenged Brutus' attack at the hands of Hart.Me > Vince

  10. There appear to be some people who didn't enjoy this show. (Interestingly, the type of people who sit by a computer while watching WrestleMania.)People who didn't enjoy this show should stop watching WWE right now. Seriously. Don't waste your time.

This is the first time I've ever watched any PPV whilst on the computer, mostly to talk to a few mates who were watching it an Uni through MSN, and it certainly ruined the enjoyment for me, to be honest.I watched it again twice the next day (already knowing the reaction Brock/Goldberg got, so not expecting anythign more), and I enjoyed the hell out of it.To be honest I think I went in with far too high expectations on the night watching it live. But watching it again, I fucking loved it, and it was everything WrestleMania should have been.Still, I fucking hated that crowd.
  11. Best. Mania. Finish. Ever.

Absolutely! Stop moaning about the bad stuff (of which there was a lot, I agree) and just concentrate on the good. Eddy AND Benoit are BOTH the frickin' champions and that was the greatest Wrestlemania ending of ALL TIME.So relax, reflect and mark the fuck out. I know I am....
I posted that I thought it was the greatest Wrestlemania moment ever and straight away I regretted it but now as I reflect I'm not so sure. What could beat it?It was touching to the nth degree.
Hogan slamming Andre?Warrior beating Hogan?Austin vs Rock WMX7?Anyway, I'm being a dick. :)I'm now forwarding through Wrestlemania watching the good bits (and ignroing the crowd i hate so much... have I mentioned that? :)) and it really was a good PPV.Where was the new WWE logo?I'm a little shocked at next years Mania venue. That can hold 20,000 tops? Come to the Millenium Stadium, I guarantee you'll fill it, Vince! PLEASE?Great Christian/Jericho, Angle/Eddie and Triple Threat matches.Where was Heyman? No Steph (shocker!)?Benoit and Guerrero as champs = Good Thing! No more Lesnar = bad thing!Trish is a great heel...I think I'm one of the few glad with Undertaker NOT being totally 'Dead Man'... I just can't see it working after the first month of nostalgia pops.Anyway, all in all, good show. Not quite the best show in 20 years of sports entertainment, but it'll do... :)
  12. I think this PPV's failure so far is due to two things.. the crap that the writers are coming up with, and the NYC crowd seeing straight through that crap. Theyre the most critical crowd when they detect bullshit, but they appreciate a good show. Either way they let you know about it.Vinny Mac is learning a big, big lession right now..

Couldn't disagree more. The PPV was doing fine until Brock's match.Brock has shit all over Vince, WWE and the fans by doing what he did. He could have waited until tomorrow to hand his notice in - and left right.I don't think Vince will be impressed by Lesnar shooting on the MSG crowd with the bird. The only lesson Vince is learning is not to trust Lesnar ever again.
Geez, not many people here like brock, eh?He could have "shit on Vince" a lot more...He stayed around and jobbed at their big show, didn't he? He could have fucked off after Tuesday night and really screwed Vince over!He only quit a job he was unhappy in for Gods sake!
