  2. I tried really hard to watch Dumb and Dumberer last night... I got to about the 15 min mark before I stopped and deleted it from my sky plus and watched Kill Bill Volume 1 instead....

I watched Dumb and Dumber the other day. Fucking hilarious. One of the funniest films ever.Cop: "Pullover"Harry: "No it's a cardigan but thanks for noticing!"Lloyd: "KILLER BOOTS MAN!"
  3. When was it in 2000 when Commissioner Foley suspended Steve Austin?

I think it was late 2000 going into the Armageddon HIAC. Foley had declared a rule of not touching him in anyway whatsoever and Austin stunned him and he got suspended I think.
It would have been October of that year in the run-up to No Mercy (Austin's return match against Rikishi). Austin was going round Stunning whoever he felt like whilst trying to find out who drove the car that ran him down. Foley told him to stop, so Austin Stunnered him - obviously. Foley suspended him and then - somehow - managed to piece together all the clues and discover it was Rikishi who drove the car. Austin was reinstated and Austin/Rikishi was made.
  4. Was Shawn Michaels legit injured in early 1997? Was the plan for Michaels vs. Taker at Wrestlemania 13?

I've always thought that accepted line of thought was that Shawn was supposed to win the title from Sid at the Rumble, retain it up to WM13, and then drop it to Bret in a rematch at WM- thus returning the favour from WM12. Of course Shawn didn't want to drop the title to Bret, and faked/exagerated his knee injury, causing Vince to go into damage control (big men), putting the belt onto Sid, and then giving it to Taker as a 'reward' of sorts....
I'd always thought/remember reading that Taker getting the title was always the WM 13 plan, with Hart/Michaels on the 'undercard'.
  5. Mr Seven is a half and half poster, half good stuff, half complete shite, nothing in between.

But his shite stuff makes me angry. Really angry. And it's only the internet. So I just voted him.

  7. Mindhunters starring Val Kilmer, Christian Slater, LL Cool J (add on "aka: James Todd Smith" according to the credits) and Jonny Lee Miller. Not a bad film, just not a very good one. Basically the film is about 6 or 7 FBI profilers get sent to a remote island for a training excercise, but of course there is a killer among them and they start getting picked off one by one. So far, so D-Tox (horrible Stallone movie). It is better than the aforementioned Sly movie, though that wouldn't be hard. The film has way too much potential, and doesn't capitalise on it enough. Don't get me wrong, it starts off very well, and there are some inventive deaths, but it falls apart a bit in a last act which features a fight scene so unrealistic it makes the WWE look like shootfighting. It's a whodunnit, and it's not hard to figure out just who done it, but it does keep you guessing and the performances are pretty good, although Jonny Lee Miller's accent (he plays a real Southern country boy) keeps slipping leading you to question why they just didn't make his character English, and maybe it's the fact that LL Cool J uses both his rap name and his "serious actor" name, but it seems to me he's trying too hard. He also has one of the most laughable one-liners in film history, but I won't spoil it for you.So yeah, worth a watch, just don't expect anything groundbreaking.

You just reminded me that I watched 45 minutes of this at a friend's but had to leave to catch my bus.I was quite enjoying it until I left.
  8. Watched Eternal Sunshine on DVD for the first time since I saw it at the cinema. Still very, very good but loses something after the second watching I think. Still, a great film worth watching if you haven't already. Also watched Episode III on DVD for the first time since the cinema. And I enjoyed it just as much. Probably more. It's brilliant, the last 20-30 minutes are my favourite 20-30 minutes doing anything ever. Say what you want about Episodes 1 and 2 and I'll understand why (even though I personally enjoyed them, even fi they didn't feel especially OT-ish) but Episode III is STAR WARS. Especially from the scene where Anakin pledges allegiance to Sidious and becomes 'knighted' as Vader. Watched A new Hope after it and I could just see Christensen's mangled, older body inside the Vader costume, except you feel a tragic, sad sympathy for him, unlike the first time you watched Episode 4. Also watched Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou for the first time, and it's brilliant. It's funny and sad with some absolutely beautiful scenes. Director Wes Anderson is just brilliant (he wrote it as well, so he's doubly brilliant), and this is better than Royal Tenenbaums. And Bill Murray's in the film, and, let's be honest, he's the best actor of all time not to be called the best actor of all time.
