  1. On a couple of the recent topics,

The crowd are annoying cunts that think they own Wrestling, but it is hilarious watching them boo heels like Eva Marie and Baron Corbin because they don't think they're worth a shit in spite of that being the reaction WWE wants regardless.

The amount of heels is a funny subject in NXT and it relates to the nature of the crowd. The crowd react to entertaining figures and personalities by cheering them, as such these guys aren't proper heels. Rhyno and Tyler Breeze are decent examples, they get more/as many cheers as boo's, so they're not really a heels. The only proper heels in NXT are the people that the crowd don't think deserve their place. Imagine how butthurt they would get if Baron Corbin beat Finn Balor for the belt.

I liked James Storm's debut, I like his work but I think he still needs some refining and if he's willing to listen to some of the older heads there he will be a great addition to the main roster. I think the general consensus on Rhyno and maybe Joe being perma-NXT guys is correct but I reckon Storm may be destined for the main roster. I liked his look and his music, not his finish so much, looked sloppy.

  2. I really enjoyed Raw. I know a lot of people are going to hate the idea of Kane being in the main event it makes sense and I think both of his characters being on the program at the same time with brief moments of crossing over was actually pretty fun. Kane seemed threatening for the first time in about three years. Truthfully, it seemed pretty creative and I was left feeling surprised that they hadn't done it before.

Cesaro has been a bit of a sacrificial lamb for Big Show recently, good match and good following promo afterwards. I see that House Show having more buzz than some PPV's.

After the opening segment I was expecting the predictable tag team main event and it pleasantly surprised me in not happening. Obviously a HIAC one.

Loving New Day, they still get heat but they are getting over which may be a problem further down the line.

Starting to think we get a Lana/Summer swerve which sees Lana back with Rusev.

  3. They've pretty much struck gold with the four they've produced recently in Bayley, Sasha, Charlotte and Becky. Promoting three of them, whilst thoroughly deserved on their part, has pretty much killed the division in NXT. I'm not really buying Dana Brooke, although I can accept she'll get there eventually.

Bayley will suffer for it, the other three had each other to have good matches with.

  4. When you're wrestling in a small arena on show being aired to thousands upon thousands more than whats contained in that arena camera work is the most important thing. The in house crowd will get involved in the show via the buzz of being there, in most ways they look after themselves.

  5. You're not alone, gary. Almost everybody on here has had a wee moan about how underwhelmed they are with the show.

Personally, I gave up watching WWE in the Winter and only decided to get back into it because 'Mania season is usually good. However, it's been weeks and weeks of some right toss.

Sting v Triple H and Cena v Rusev has been pretty strong the past two weeks, which is something. The rest, not so much.

I think that's a little unfair on the Ladder match, I think the build up for that has been really good. They've also given the time of day with TV time.

  6. Was watching Wrestlemania xx earlier and Billy Kidman looked like he had bulked up considerably at this time, cannot reallly remember much of his WWE run to be honest.

I remember he went through a stupid story line where he was afraid to use the Shooting Star Press because it had injured someone.... sigh*

  7. I was watching some WWF from the late 90s recently, and Vince looks like the least strong or athletic man on earth. Austin had to tie Vince in the ropes (the old Andre spot) and Vince look like Austin was fastening an anchor to a Bend 'Em figure. Vince's arms didnt look like they could take the weight of a rope. Its so odd. For a man in such good shape he's like the weakest bloke on earth.

Whilst you're right in what you're saying, standing next to Austin at his best probably doesn't help that. Austin is a pretty big guy.

  8. I fully understand - but I fully disagree.

I'm also not saying that the biggest draw can't also be the best match; like Warrior & Hogan at WM6 (IMO) - but they are 2 different things. That match could have stunk, but still been what drew the crowd & PPV numbers.

Andre vs Hogan was a stinker of a match, but was indeed a spectacle - an iconic moment where they faced off and when he got slammed. It drew the crowd. But it wasn't the "best match". IMO.

If you thought Hogan vs Andre was the biggest draw AND the best match - then that's fine - that's your opinion. But they are 2 different things.

According to you, who had the "best match" at WM10? And WM13? And WM17? And WM25?

IMO it was HBK vs Razor, Bret vs Austin, TLC Match, HBK vs Undertaker. None of those were the main events though. Were they the main draws? Likely not for most part (WM13 had a stinker of a headliner). But they're 2 different things.

You're missing my point and missing the point of what a draw is, a draw is the worker/match that everyone is paying to see. The best of the situation is said worker/match giving everyone paying to be there what they want to see. Wrestlemania 3 is the biggest drawing wrestling show of all time and everyone that was there left feeling like they got their monies worth. That would of happened if Savage and Steamboat hadn't of even been there.

  9. Why can't people differentiate between biggest draw & best match? They're clearly 2 different things. How is it a debate?

Does the best scene in a movie have to include the main character that people paid to see? No.

Does the best goal in a football game have to be scored by the biggest name star? Obviously no.

Does Fight of the Night on a UFC show always go to the main event? No.

    This is no different.

There is a difference in this case. What caused the bigger crowd reaction that night? The finish to Savage/Steamboat or Hogan slamming Andre? Wrestling is about eliciting reactions and emotions from people, its why Hogan has been the biggest draw ever and why 99% of wrestling fans have no idea who Johnny Saint is.

Saint may be an master of what he does but his fanbase pales in comparison in Hogans and even Shirley Crabtrees.

The better match is what gave the fans in attendance and fans watching at home what they wanted to see. How many do you think left that arena saying "Wow, Savage and Steamboat sure tore the house down!" compared to "Wow, Hogan slammed Andre!".

    Do you not understand?

  10. Snow has no idea what he talking about. He can't differentiate between the match and draws the crowd and the best match from a technical perspective. I'd call what he says the 'biggest draw' of the show

No, you have no idea what you're talking about. Wrestling is all about drawing money so naturally the one that draws the most is the better match. Besides, 90,000 people paid to watch Hogan slam Andre and went home happy because they got what they paid to see. Hogan and Andre could of been the only match on the card that night and nobody would of given a shit because they got their monies worth in one moment.

As a side note, what is a 'technical perspective'? You are aware Pro Wrestling is fake and more like a film than a contest, aren't you?

  11. I could be wrong but this could be the first time that two companies (WWE and TNA) hold PPV's the same month without there world champion wrestling,

October has WWE Hell in a Cell and TNA Bound for Glory.

Interesting one that, isn't Bound For Glory their big one as well?

  12. This shit still goes on in the more old school promotions - on another Alex Shane podcast, while ranting about wrestlers paying their own travel, Nathan Cruz said it was entirely appropriate that a younger wrestler was made to wear a nappy made of duck tape and run laps on a camp show for being five minutes late.

Perhaps I'm in a severe minority, I detest lateness and I find this perfectly acceptable.
