Our turn (maybe), 5yr old daughter now has to isolate for 2 weeks due to a confirmed case in her year group at school. Her 9yr old sister continues to go to school as normal, and my wife and I aren't required to isolate just advised to ensure only 1 person goes out when we need to - which we did anyway for the most part. Living in a small town in a region with historically lower numbers this is the first time since day one that it's felt 'close', even when there was 1 other case a month ago in another year group it still felt relatively safe.

Time will tell, but if she has caught it then I'm going to assume we all will. Can't really isolate a 5yr old from others in the home, despite my suggestion we stick a bed in the attic....

Id double check the advice they gave, my daughter picked it up from school (also in Scotland) and we were all indoors for 14 days, including other kids.

EDIT: Just noticed yours doesnt actually have it.

Youd be amazed by the way - my kids dodged it so many times and eventually when one of them did catch it, there was not one symptom in our house among any of us. She was asymptomatic. Couldnt tell you if we caught it or not, was never anything wrong with any of us.

  2. In most areas of Scotland you’d struggle to find a private Paramedic for less than £300

In England I believe the St Johns trainees can volunteer for experience in the final years of study - however in Scotland the St Andrews service doesn’t offer a similar service

Even those who do elite football matches and most events in Scotland are not Paramedics - only enhanced first aiders.

Someone I know told me a story about a guy from St Andrews Ambulance who volunteered at events up here a while back but then was told his qualifications weren’t strong enough to meet the WWE “Level 6 Medic” which is required by a promoter if they have NXTUK talent on the show. This same guy had done many old firm football matches (stitched up players at half time) Commonwealth games etc - but technically wasn’t a Paramedic and didn’t meet criteria for a wrestling show

that in it itself is probably a small problem

  3. Triple H mentioned during the U.K. PC opening press conference that they were also able to use it as a sound stage. I took from that that they were always planning to record TV in there same as full sail/NXT - so I’d imagine they will just tape behind closed doors. Probably soon, now that closed door sports etc have the go ahead.

  4. I’m really sorry guys i forgot to edit my post

It ended up a huge crossed wire between him and a general email they sent about possibly disruption

still - I have more or less taken the decision now not to travel. Not as much worry of getting unwell, but Edinburgh to London to Tampa and back at a time where presumably will be our “peak” based on the data they displayed at the press conference, huge bad idea for me.

  5. Friend of mine got notification that his Norwegian flight was cancelled

30th of March too, presumably same flight as yours.

really sucks tbh - massive spanner in the works for a lot of people travelling. Doesn’t look good at all

Mania May very well go ahead As planned but international travellers can forget about it.

  6. I'm off to NJPW, Axxess and Friday either do Wrestlecon, TNA, or Spring Break 4 - Hoping Jericho possibly replaces Muta at SB4 or competes at the WC Supershow as he is already doing a signing there. got Takeover on the Saturday also and considering Bloodsport.

Also looking to hit up Foleys stand up in Downtown Tampa on the Wednesday

BA have started cancelling flights to areas affected in high volume - if Tampa situation worsens then flights might not go there - London to JFK Flights have already been halted for most of March.

  7. I’ve always thought wwe missed a trick with not having a tryout specifically for managers etc

they go hard for the athletes and then hone them in the PC

However there are talented managers/non wrestling personnel who would flourish under the guidance of the NXT staff

A lot of the former athletes don’t possess the skill of acting or strong promo which a manager would show up already possessing. Get him in the gym and make money from him. They’ve kinda did it with Stokely Hathaway.

  8. I think this season might do not bad - they seem to have learned from their mistakes - first of all having a limited schedule and teams.

The main difference is opting for Saturday and Sunday game days with only two games per day. So the viewing isn’t mega intense

i can see them simply dipping their toe this season and expanding in future as opposed to to quick. The rule changes look interesting and their marketing during Super Bowl/playoffs was quite heavy

I reckon they’ve done the business the right way this time and really looking at the “sport” aspect of it rather than trying to bring entertainment and glitz to football like they did the first time.

looking forward to seeing it and glad we can watch it live in UK

  9. While it's hard to disagree that the product is not the same as 2015/2016, Its a shame as its not particularly their fault, WWE have signed most of their top talents since then and they are plying their trade across all WWE brands which is a testament to the pot of gold they had at the time as a roster. PROGRESS I would presume went the same way.

Regarding SHP, It was an extremely difficult time for the Scottish Wrestling community in general. A lot of the roster and team I would presume were still in shock at the events the month prior with Lionheart with his funeral being not too long before that weekend - I don't feel it was ever going to be the show that it could have been - creatively certainly, given so much possibly had to change.

I still watch the product, and it is getting better without a doubt.

  10. There are a couple of flaws in your final theory though - first of all I would doubt that any ICW OR progress wrestlers have contracts so wwe wouldn’t be buying any talent out if they did buy said companies.

also - they already are in possession of the tape libraries - it was reported at the time - it’s upload to the network is more or less imminent if this weeks beta tests are anything to go by (ICW fight club popped up this week in a test episode)

    Year after. 2020.

Somehow I'm not that surprised at this development with BT Sport. At one point WWE were a great option for Sky to plug holes in channels when they had just three; now that they've moved into a 'channel per sport' option and (it seems) they're planning to keep up the NFL deal, I think Action and Arena can be easily filled with plenty of other stuff that probably rates very similarly to censored repeats of Raw and Smackdown.

Thing with the NFL is, the GamePass is relatively cheap if that’s all you’re into. NBA is extortionate because of the number of games/length of season. But my nfl on costs £35 a quarter with no game blackouts.

I’m surprised Sky aren’t trying to hold onto WWE. While the live showings don’t garner good viewers, the product as a whole surely is very well-watched. The bigger picture for Sky is they won’t have Game of Thrones on atlantic anymore which was also probably a huge game changer for them with the exclusivity. Almost all of their in house produced stuff across the whole network is garbage (except League of their Own & soccer Am)

  12. Virgin Media customer get BT for free above a certain tier.

me personally I’d not need sky sports if this happened as I’d have WWE, UFC, Champs League, Europa League and plenty of Scottish/English league on BT. And started using NFL game pass this year so didn’t even need Sky for that either.

would save me 28quid a month.

If WOS don't get a second season, I'd like to see Wade Barrett/Stu Bennett in that role. As the authority figure he was one of the few highlights of WOS, and with the WWE production he could be superb, plus then you have a GM who can actually wrestle should they ever wish to go down that road. I appreciate it's unlikely for several reasons, but it would have been a nice fit potentially.

I'd be very curious who they can put with Saint to speak for him, no-one immediately springs to mind from the people under contract.

With certain promotions under affiliation to WWE at the moment including ICW - I think Rudo/Red Lightning could be a shout for that role, based on past experience in doing same thing under one of the WWE banner companies. The other companies as far as I know didn't utilise heel GM or anything of that nature.

You're right about Stu Bennett, to be honest I thought he took the job simply to try and perhaps get something similar from WWE (akin to JR - they signed him back to a contract to keep him away from WOS Season 2 and essentially he did nothing).

  14. added cost of a medic at each show could price a few smaller companies out of the game altogether

a step in the right direction but will have consequences for those who may not be able to work that into their budgets. Would be faced with not using NxT guys at all but that probably isn’t long term solution as it appears that may be first step in trying to regulate the industry here.

Canvassing opinion here...their "Homage" range isn't bad...

    7R1009.jpg

Homage themselves actually have a bigger range than wwe shops. They stock nWo original and Austin 3:16 etc.

also lots of other pop culture and classic sport tees

the comfort and fit of their stuff is outstanding
