  1. Currently working my way through all the Nightmare on Elm Street films followed by all the Friday 13th film. Been 9 years since i watched them all one after another for my dissertation so have forgotten how bad some of them are. First Nightmare film still holds up quite well. Some of the effects still look great ( Both scenes with the rotating room are amazing and Freddy streaching through the wall pisses all over the CGI version in the remake.) There are some effects that just look shit now but thats to be expected and Freddy is a lot more of a bumbling twat than I remember him being.

Watched A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2 last night and it is just shit. Freddy has about 10 minutes of screen time. The whole film has the most blatent gay subtext of all time which apparently no one picked up on at the time and theres a scene where a parrot explodes for no reason(possibly through gayness, im unsure). Dream Warriors tonight which is the first film when they start pushing the comedy into the franchise

I done the same thing last week after I watched the Never Sleep Again doc, I don't think number 2 is that bad really especially when you compare it to number 4 which is just horrendous. I always skipped NOES 4 when I used to watch them all years ago and I realized why when I finally watched it last week, everything about it is just awful, the acting, deaths just everything even worse than some parts of NOES 5 like Freddy in the wizard of oz

  2. Is there a decent website to watch old matches on? I'm going through a real wrestling phase just now and I want to catch up on some old classics I've never seen (this might be blasphemy, but I only saw Flair/Steamboat from WrestleWar 89 and Eddie/Rey from Halloween Havoc for the first time last night).

Also, is there a comprehensive list or anything like that of the considered 'greatest matches of all time'?

This guy has shit loads of old NWA/WCW shows up in full on his channel

  3. I will always pimp The Thin Blue Line, Dear Zachary, Crumb, Paradise Lost, Video Nasties and Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy!

Watched Easy Riders, Raging Bulls and A Decade Under the Influence the other week as I am studying Film at Uni and the 'New Hollywood' period is probably my personal favourite period in Film History.

Got A Personal Journey With Martin Scorsese Through American Movies on its way in the post as well! Can't wait.

If you're not too hot on Documentaries I would suggest the Michael Moore documentaries. Has anyone seen Zietgeist by the way?

Cheers for mentioning that I never knew it existed, just finished watching it there and it's awesome. Runs at 4 hours and covers all the films up to Freddy Vs Jason with interviews with all the cast from the films except a couple like Depp & Arquette.

  4. Question for the MMA fans, I used to have a video what a friend of mine copied for me what he'd bought from the tape traders back in the day. It was a UFC PPV from New Years Eve 2001 ( I think ) and it was pretty much a best of type deal showing fights from all the shows which werent clipped from what I can remember so you had a couple of fights from each one. It was on for about 5/6 hours or something like that, anyway I'm just wondering if anyone knows the proper name for said show so I can try and find it to download as it was awesome.

    Cheers

I used to have a copy of that. I'm pretty sure it was called Ultimate New Year's Eve.

    Thats the one, cheers.

Looking into it they did this up until 2004 from what I've managed to find. The show I had was definitely New Years Eve 2001 come to think about it as I left school in the Summer of 2002 and I got it while there so when I named it 1993-2002 it was just the lead up to 02.

I've had a bit of a search round for a download link for the 2001 show but the only one I could find was the 2003 version but from reading the description its the same type of deal going from UFC1 till 2004, hopefully it still has the fights I had on my video.

    Cheers once again

  6. Dangerously420

Laura is a very nice girl. Im very happy with Laura. She is very good friends with a lot of people in the Scottish wrestling scene and workers. She is also very good friends with the TNA roster and its owner Dixie Carter

    There is no other option.

Well seeing that Dangerously420 isn't on the list there is plenty of other options you mong.

  7. All the picks I was going to say have been mentioned but I'd have to throw these 2 in as well for sheer drama and having me jumping around like crazy while they lasted

    Brock LeSnar Vs Shane Carwin

    Brock Lesnar Vs Cain Valasquez

    Along with

    Sonnen vs Silva

Leonard Garcia vs. Chan Sung Jung

    Bonnar vs Soszynski 2

    Anthony Pettis vs. Benson Henderson

    Leben vs Akiyama

    Scott Jorgensen vs Brad Pickett

    Diaz vs Noons 2

  8. I also watched the Hall/Waltman Face Off yesterday and it was better than I expected some really funny stories and Big Kev cracking out the jokes. I turned it off about 3/4 of the way through when Waltman's girlfriend came back and they all started breaking down like some group therapy carry on, not something I really want to watch but the rest was good.

  9. 'Don't Look Now' might be very difficult depending on what you usually watch. It is quite slow in places and has quite an unconventional narrative. The twist ending is very good and still quite frightening, even today.

Out of curiosity, what kind of DVD is it? Is it a recent one or is it like one you would get free with a Newspaper (which is how I first saw it)? 'Cause 79p is a bargain really mate.

Its a proper DVD release has Studio Canal on the front seems to be from 2002, the Barnardo's I pop into sells all its DVD's for 79p I even picked up Pro Evolution 6 for the Xbox 360 for 99p although I havent played it yet I couldnt let it slip by for that price.
