  1. The Cavs aren't a title winning team this year though, even with Lebron joining Irving & Wiggins. Guess that home town pull is strong. The Heat are fucked if he does go though, as Bosh will almost definitely take the Max contract at Houston in reaction. FREE AGENCY DRAMA.

You're right, they're not right now, that being said, apparently Timberwolves will trade them Kevin Love for Wiggins..... That would make them the best team in the NBA. Apparently Carmelo is stalling on his decision to wait to see what Lebron does. Gotta be honest, there's no chance Bosh leaves Miami before Lebron makes his decision, Melo will almost definitely sign with the Knicks. Never thought it would be this way round, Lebron leaving and Melo staying.

The Cavs cleared said cap space by sending Jarrett Jack to Brooklyn and Zeller to Celtics along with Marcus Thornton. The landscape is changing drastically daily right now, very exciting time to be an NBA fan.

  2. I think the Lebron Miami Era is about to end, the Cavs just cleared up more than enough cap space to sign him for the max, their also in talks with Ray Allen too. While I wouldn't call it cut and dry just yet, most sources stateside are calling it a 90% chance of happening now. I'm guessing all the Heat fans will be Cav fans next year.

  3. I predicted Miami in 6, but I'm edging more towards Miami in 5 now. Will be interesting to see how the next 2 games go in Miami. Got a feeling Miami are gonna win comfortably at home.

    That went well.

  4. Pryko, I think you're doing the Spurs a huge disservice there. They are the clear favourites with most U.S bookmakers still too. I certainly don't see it ending in 5 anyway, be incredibly shocked should that happen.

To be honest, for the NBA landscape, it would be more interesting if the Spurs did win, the Heat team will break up should they fail the 3-peat, plus only Norris Cole is under a guaranteed contract for next season. If the Heat win it, no way are any of the big 3 leaving a chance of a 4-peat like that, but should they lose I think Pat Riley will shop Bosh for some younger legs, the start of a slow rebuild. (Around Lebron, if he stays that is.)

  5. Anthony Davis went to work on the Heat last night, I loved it. Trust me, this guy is going to be a top 3 player in a few years. He's an animal and he's got outside scoring ability, he used to be a guard in high school. This Heat team will not retain, there's too many cracks there, and although they've always been a bit slack defensively, they've always found a way to tighten up come crunch time. Hasn't happened this year. Should they get past the Pacers (who have been worrying me greatly the past month) they won't beat whoever comes out of the West. I can't wait for the off-season. The league is going to look completely different next season. We may very well be seeing two or three 'Big 3's' across the organisation.

  6. Yeah I've got no time for Kobe running his mouth right now, he should have took on a smaller deal to help bring in a name. They've got little to no chance of attracting anyone other than Melo who looks like he will stay with Knicks for whatever reasons we'll never know. Kevin Love even dissed them last month when he rightly said that the Timberwolves are a better team than the Lakers. The Lakers are horrible. With the step up in Luxury Tax Penalty they need to be careful. They've also got a completely knackered Steve Nash on the payroll who admits he's not going to retire because he needs the cash!

Yeah the Bulls look great, with talk that D Rose will return should they get the 4th seed or higher for the playoffs, they look great right now. They play some serious defense and Noah is a lock for defensive player of the year. As I've said many times in this thread, they add Melo or another big name and I think they're immediately in the conversation for a title contender.

  7. The opening 5 minutes of WarGames 91 was so good. Pillman and Windham just going full throttle, the rest of the match is also great, the stereo figure fours and a super performance from Flair. Pillman was the MVP though, so much so that I decided to re-watch a lot of his WCW run. What's the general consensus on Pillman's WCW run?

  8. How much of the old WCW footage has entrance music dubbed over on the WWE releases? I was watching the Clash Of Champions boxset the other night and I'm sure Rick Rude's music is dubbed. Also, having Tony Schiavone commentate by himself is really shit. Fuck you Jesse Ventura.

  9. I love Doc Rivers, he gets his teams playing defence better than most coaches in the league, they've got the best point guard in the league, the second best power forward in the league and an all round deep squad, apart from the small forward position. I see that being a key factor should they meet the Thunder. Matt Barnes is terrific defensively, his hustle is amazing too, but does he offer enough on a consistent basis on the offense? I don't think he does. The other factor to remember is that since CP3 has been in L.A they have had strong regular seasons and then melted in the playoffs. If anyone can get them a tough playoff series it's Doc Rivers. I see them as semi-finalists at the minute. I also don't rate Deandre Jordan. In fact, save for his blocks and the highlight dunks, he's garbage.

I can't believe the Knicks didn't move for a point guard during the weeks before deadline, Raymond Felton has reverted back to the Blazers version, absolutely horrid that is. So have most of his team mates to be fair. If I was Melo, I'd be listening to anyone and everyone who is willing to make an offer, nothing can be as bad as this season.

  10. I just don't get why Melo wants to stay in NYC. It's very much win now and there's no chance in hell they're making the playoffs. It's just been a straight up embarrassment for them this year. Melo is absolutely made for Chicago, at the very least he should listen to their offer in the off-season.

I could definitely see him in Chicago.

What about Miami? Lebron said recently that he'd love to help Melo in some way and is 'worried about him in New York'.

For the Heat to sign Melo he would have take the minimum salary or get rid of Bosh and Wade and ask Lebron to not ask for top dollar. It's almost impossible. You'd be more likely looking at scenario where Lebron leaves Miami to go to NY.

Lebron's 61 point game was huge. They may very well catch the Pacers, but I still maintain the Pacers will end the Heat's run in Eastern Conference Finals.

  11. I just don't get why Melo wants to stay in NYC. It's very much win now and there's no chance in hell they're making the playoffs. It's just been a straight up embarrassment for them this year. Melo is absolutely made for Chicago, at the very least he should listen to their offer in the off-season.

  12. Can't believe you liked the new Dunk Contest, Art! It was terrible, the freestyle section will almost definitely be removed for next year, it was so bland and pointless. Which was a shame as there was actually a decent roster of dunkers, if they'd just have let them have a normal contest we could have seen something special. Wall's dunk was sweet though.

The Heat got their win back against the Thunder the other night, nothing newsworthy there, I fully expected them to win to level the season series and the fact that Westbrook has just returned. Nothing against Russell, but he's come back at the wrong time for me, KD was in the form of his life while he has been injured. Still, nothing matters till June. I still don't think the Heat will move past the Pacers in the East. The Pacers picking up Evan Turner was a great piece of business on Trade Deadline Day, giving up Danny Granger was a small price to pay. I've got to feel sorry for Granger though, he carried the team throughout the barren years, and then accepts his a role player now, only to be traded when the team look to be on the brink of a championship.

  13. Heads up, 'David Stern: 30 Years', the one hour special is live on NBA TV now!

I can't watch anything about that arsehole. He buried A.I and Gilbert Arenas. For that alone, I cannot stand the man. He also cost the Kings the Finals in 01/02. The guy is a fucking cretin. Good riddance and all that.

  14. Delighted to go in to the AAA and pick up the W. Durant is in the form of his life, also worrying for Miami is the fact that Lebron doesn't seem to be able to get anywhere near KD on the dribble. If the Thunder get out of the West (which they should) I can't see them losing this time. Durant on the fast break is taking literally 3 strides up the court and then nailing 18 footers for fun at the moment. On another level.

  15. I was watching WWF UK Fan Favourites 93 last night and it amazed me at some of the commentary errors from Jim Ross and Gorilla Monsoon. It actually got to the point of spoiling the matches. One particular low point being during the El Matador vs Rick Martel match ( Butch's favourite series of all time~!) Ross can apparently recall each man defending their IC belt against each other years prior to this bout. Astonishing really, because to my knowledge Martel never held the IC strap. They also claimed each man knew the other man's next move, through years of facing each other. Whilst that may be true, they didn't once acknowledge that they used to be a tag team. Utterly baffling, just goes to show that absolutely no one checked or edited the Coliseum Home Video releases.

  16. Kevin Love at the Lakers would be a great move for them. The only negatives I can mention regarding him are: He's turned into a whining bitch this year, but I don't think that's particularly a bad thing when you realise he must be frustrated to hell in Minnesota. The other negative is a big thing though. He goes missing in the fourth quarter. Regularly. Just check his stats, it's ugly viewing. He's still a top 3 PF in the league though and a huge step up for the Lakers on a broken, washed up Pau Gasol.

  17. I usually play on Hall Of Fame with Simulation sliders but it's significantly harder on next gen. I've dropped down to All Star and custom sliders downloaded from OS for a more realistic game on My GM and my exhibition matches. I'm mainly playing Domination Mode on My Team though, I've been saving all my VC for the 90/91 Chicago Bulls packs in my quest to get MJ. My current team is :

    PG Kyrie Irving

    SG JR Smith

    SF Danilo Galinari

    PF Blake Griffin

    C Tim Duncan

    6th Man : Tony Parker

    Nikola Pekovic

    Kyle Lowry

    Klay Thompson

    Michael Kidd Gilchrist

    Eric Bledsoe

    David West

I'm just missing a gold level SF to make an all gold lineup but I've sailed through the first 3 seeds online with that lineup, using the Clippers playbook, lots of alley-oops and pick and roll action with Kyrie and Blake, tons of fun!

If you're struggling with the game this year, I recommend running pick and roll and letting the coach run plays for you, you'll get lots of good looks from the perimeter and plenty of opportunities to take it to the rack. If only the servers were more stable!

  18. Thoughts on the Deng/Bynum trade that happened last night?

I can understand why the Bulls did it, but I thought they would have took a role player instead of taking Bynum to waive him. It's a risky move from the Bulls, Rose has told management that he has no interest in rebuilding which means they must have had a pretty strong indicator from either Melo or Lebron that they will sign and take a pay cut to link up with Rose and Noah. Expect Boozer to be amnestied next.
