I quite liked Virgil after listening to it, he seemed like a good guy at heart. I thought Colt was shady in the way he framed some of his questions, trying to trip him up.

I warmed to Virgil also but i don't think he's a "good guy at heart" I just don't think he's at all a bad guy. (Roman reference not intended). Just maybe, not all there. I imagine he couldn't pour water out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel. ye-me?

I didn't get that feeling about Colt myself though. I just got the impression (as did Colt by the sounds of it) that unless Virgil was prompted to fill bits in, then his stories weren't making much sense at all (as if he was making a lot up). And even those stories just weren't very interesting. "I went into a room, (Pause to think)......... Vince's office Colt ye-me? aaaaaaaaaand (Pause to think) ........ Andre was there ye-me? I don't know what they were talking about" and my fav wtf comment from Virgil was "I got called up to WWF Colt ye-me? But I didn't know I got called up to WWF Colt" Ooooo, I thought to myself. Could be interesting, I thought. Turns out it was simply because they called his parents home and he wasn't there at the time. His Mum took the message. Gave it to him later that day.

It was a great listen but mainly because I was amazed at how it just felt like the wheel was turning but the hamster was dead. Ye-me?

  2. I normally stay away from Jericho's podcast too but i went onto his feed just to see who he'd recently had on. Turns out I've not bothered with talk is Jericho at all this year because i saw he'd had Robbie Brookside on. So i listened to that one as I don't know much about Brookside other than what I've seen on Breaking Ground if I'm honest. It was a cracking Podcast (mainly because Jericho just let Robbie speak). I'd love to find out more about him.

I took a look who Colt's had recently too and decided to give the Virgil episode a listen. Does Virgil just make stuff up?

He also mentioned how he never realised he may have been portraying a slave character to Ted DiBiase but even if he was aware, it wouldn't have mattered. As long as he got paid :D haha!!

And for anyone else who has listened to that virgil ep, what the fuck is that "Ye, me" sound he's always making after a sentence? Is it his way of saying "You get me?" or "You with me?"

For someone who never took any big hits, he sure talks like someone that has!

  3. I think it's about time they gave Raw another new look.  New set design, new logo and new theme music.  It's shit that they use the same set for every televised show apart from Mania. They should give Raw a new stand alone look.

I could deal with RAW keeping it's look. It's PPV's that feel boring to me now. Its the same damn wave entrance screen thing but without a ramp. That's it.

Isn't the reason they basically use the same set for every show to do with the HD sets? It cost them a lot to produce that set or something.

Still get use out of the HD set but they could add stuff to the wave screen entrance thing. Like the smackdown fist in place of the WWE statue/logo, or the backlash pendulums somewhere or some of the amazing Halloween Havoc sets (honourable mention to Road Wild 1999).

Since we damn near watch a PPV's length of wrestling content* every Monday night, I need that something extra to mark a bigger show. Each and every show always starts with a pan of the crowd followed by fireworks and a shot of the stage. I remember as a kid pausing the tape to get a proper look at this months set.

    I miss that

    *Edited before anyone comments

  4. get some decent threads, looks like he bought that suit from fucking TK Maxx clearance sale.

I quite like Cesaro's gimmick in theory! But I fucking hate just how 007 it all is. The James Bond entrance screen he has is just 100% rip off!! He needs less corny Bond jazz and more hardman Statham business going on. But lets give him/the suit a break. It's a suit done up round the back by velcro :-D it's never gonna be Prada now is it.

When he shushed Miz and used his "when my hand goes up" line, that worked a treat. Lovely stuff.

  5. Aye that's cool cheers, I assume WWE edit and send out those formats to sky. I agree that match is prime for the scrap heap, but it's the debut of 2 new stars who caused a bit of havoc. There was no replay or 'look what happened earlier' which I assume were also scrapped.

A daft scrap in my book, unless they don't plan to use them on Raw.

I reckon this sort of editing suggests Sky edit it. They have that Raw Highlights on Sky1 also which I assume gets a third edit

Watched the JBL interview with Michael P.S Hayes while at the gym last night (its taken me months to figure out it had free wi-fi...) and its definately worth a look. Felt a bit rushed though, would have loved to hear more Freebirds road stories.

Has he been on Austin's podcast yet? If not I'd like him on the none WWE version, let loose a bit.

He has indeed already been on it. Episode 106 which was back in April 2014, so the conversation might be a bit dated. And because it's so old you have to be a paid subscriber to PodcastOne to listen to archived shows, unless some nice person (not me by the way) puts it on youtube

    BOOM!!

I haven't listened to it since but I remember it being really, really good. Talking about wrestling at age 13 or something crazy like that?

Yeah, i haven't listened to since either but i do remember only listening to it because Cabana and Jericho had crappy guests that week and this was probably the best of a bad bunch in my eyes and it being a lot better than i'd anticipated.

Made me like Hayes a wee bit more than previously.

It's probably one of those things they change as and when to suit themselves. Like there's no rope breaks in a triple threat.

I spat out my drink when I heard that on Sunday night, because it's utter bollocks.

Whilst I agree that they imply the rules as and when it suits them, I think "no rope breaks" in a triple threat makes sense doesn't it? I mean it someone gets DQ'd in a triple threat, then who wins?
