  1. Incredibly disappointed in Henderson. He was one of the very few players I thought actually had morals and integrity, but an already enormously wealthy man becomes even wealthier at the detriment of the causes and people heā€™s been championing his whole career. Always wanted him to come back to play for us at the end of his career, not now though. Fuck that guy.

    Ā

Played 5-a-side with him a few times when we were like 12, shouldā€™ve two-footed the prick when I had the chance.

  2. I didnā€™t mindĀ The Flash, itā€™s got some really fun scenes and cameos. Not anywhere amongst the worst films Iā€™ve seen this year, just also not one of the best Iā€™ve seen. Ezra Miller was pretty good in it, shame theyā€™re an absolute nut job of a person in reality.

    Ā

Finally got to see SpiderverseĀ the other day, what a fantastic film and fully lived up to the hype. I personally enjoyed it even more than the first one, theyā€™ve built it up perfectly for the next film. 9 months to go.

  3. I always loved Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, despite it taking many liberties with fact.Ā

Still maintain itā€™s a great shame that Jason Scott Lee didnā€™t go on to have a massive career, bloke oozed charisma and coolness. Always like it when he pops up in things, needless to say he was the highlight of Balls of Furyā€¦

Cole's comeback being that MJF isn't respected was pathetic, why would MJF as a character care about respect? Cancel Eddie Kingston's flight to the G1

Plus accusing the champion of the whole fucking company as being on steroids, who fucking signed off on that shit? So tired of all these feuds based on having to have prior knowledge of dirtsheet rumours, itā€™s just incredibly lazy and not ā€˜edgyā€™ like they think theyā€™re being when itā€™s done every fucking week.

Agree about Kingston, at least heā€™d have some believability and intensity in his words.

    Ā

This week was just entirely plodding with no real advancement anywhere, it just felt like all the star power in the company took the week off.

  5. What a fantastic day that was for a Sunderland fan.

Not even in the past week did I think weā€™d actually make the play offs, let alone this time last year when we scraped 5th place in League One. Just an astonishing effort from literal kids. (Massive effort from Blackburn to help us today)

We went from being an embarrassment of a club and having past it wrong-uns like Darron Gibson, Kyle Lafferty and Marc McNulty to having incredibly bright young players with an actual future in the game and a willingness to give a shit about the club. Not only that but we have the youngest team in the entire league - an average age of 22. Just utter madness.

As I say, these are kids and for most of them itā€™s their first season even at Championship level. You only have to watch us once to see the beautiful football theyā€™re capable of, itā€™s truly a joy to watch and thereā€™s been several times this season weā€™ve scored goals that would make peak Barca ā€˜08 blush.

In no way am I expecting this playoff run to amount to much. But even if we hadnā€™t finished 6th, I would have been so proud of this team and how itā€™s brought everyone back together after what was a really depressing and embarrassing 5 years. Itā€™s nice to look forward to games.

If somehow we do go all the way Iā€™ll be petitioning door to door for a Mowbray statue outside of the SoL, made out of Jaffa Cakes.

I mean, seriously. Other than Cameron Grimes and Grayson Waller, who out of the NXT lot that were drafted to the main roster stands a genuine chance? Iā€™d be shocked if any of them are even employed by Summerslam.

No, boy. Pretty Deadly are going to have the best run out of any of the call ups. Theyā€™re just made for the main roster.

He's low key one of my favourite people in football. For a player that didn't have a glamorous career and quite frankly looks the way he does he's always seemed almost romantically commited to playing attractive football and developing players.Ā

    Ā

    And eating Jaffa Cakes.

I love the bloke, heā€™s just an absolutely genuine nice person. He had been coming to pretty much all our and Boroā€™s home games as a fan since leaving Blackburn, just cause he wanted to see all North East teams to do well.

I was on the fence when he got hired but the way heā€™s developed our young team, the way heā€™s shielded them from criticism by taking it himself and the way heā€™s often not over complicated things for his players by just letting young creative players be creative players. Just the best man-manager weā€™ve had since Peter Reid - probably even further back. Iā€™ll admit I was skeptical of his tactical prowess but, as well as the utterly beautiful football we have played this season, he did a really interesting interview on Radio Newcastle shortly after his hiring which was really eyeopening. He really knows his shit and spends pretty much all his spare time watching/studying football - a footballing dinosaur, he ainā€™t.

But yeah, please do yourself a favour and look at some of his pre-match press conferences on Twitter for his impromptu chocolate/sweet reviews and reminiscing over discontinued items. Always has a bar of chocolate in his coat pocket, heā€™s just a proper loveable grandad.

  8. For when he inevitably recovers from a 3 week hangover - congrats Butch!

You can say what you want about Wrexham ā€˜buying the leagueā€™ ect. but when you see Reynolds and especially Rob McElhenney take to a team and community like they have and bring everyone even closer together, itā€™s hard not be happy for them. Rob pissing tears at the end was wonderful. Love that bloke. (side note: Rob decided he wanted to buy a football club after watching Sunderland Til I Die)

Being from a fellow poverty-stricken mining town myself where football is everything and your whole week is spent looking forward to the match, Iā€™ve got a massive soft spot for Wrexham. Looking forward to seeing them back where they belong in the football league.

I still think Parkinson is a shit manager though, from personal experience.

He's in the team because we have noone else. Simms had a good spell at Sunderland for the first half of the season. But he is best suited playing off the main striker. Seeing as Everton have no strikers he's become it and spends 90 minutes, chasing lost causes.Ā

Youā€™re right, heā€™s better alongside someone. All in all, right now heā€™s a lower table Championship player that shouldnā€™t have been thrown under the bus having to almost single-handedly save a PL team from relegation. No surprise his good spell with us was when Ross Stewart was fit, he was dreadful when having to play as the lone striker, in the division below no less - which makes his loan getting cut short even more baffling.

Poor bloke had to be consoled by Tony Mowbray when he heard he was being recalled.

His whole recall by Everton really summed up the calamity that club is these days. Brought back but Lampard had no plans to play him, he was going from playing 90 mins every week to sitting on the bench and playing 10 mins in an entire month. Really fucked his development. Then again some fans thought the recall was orchestrated by James Vaughan - a man so bad for us we sold him at a loss 6 months after signing him - Ā who had constantly badmouthed the club since leaving us.

Craven cottage only holds a out 22k, may as well use an arena. You can't use it during the season anyway. You are pretty much only able to use national stadiums such as Wembley, Hampden, Twickenham, Murray field or Cardiff.Ā

All Out hasn't actually been officially announced yet has it? with a date and venue? I wouldn't be surprised if you saw All Out put back until early October. Eyes will be on this show, far more than All Out so I think think they will put big matches on this.Ā

You could easily get 30k+ in Craven Cottage when you factor in pitch seating and a modest stage set up. Youā€™re right though, I forgot about it being a few weeks into the season. Fair play to Khan though, very ballsy move.

Youā€™re probably right, that would make sense. Although really they shouldā€™ve just branded this show as being All Out, fuck those needy Chicago fans.

  11. With it being the first ever European show and in such a big venue, itā€™s a complete unknown as to how itā€™ll sell because thereā€™s nothing to go off but I can see them doing a good number. Youā€™ve got to say anything above 40k/50k would be a win in their eyes.

I do think itā€™s a tad over grandiose in booking Wembley Stadium as opposed to Craven Cottage but I suppose youā€™ve got to try to make a big first impression.

    Ā

Venue isnā€™t the concerning thing for me, the match card is. I donā€™t doubt they will put good matches on but with All Out being the week after, will any of the matches here have any real meaning? Like are they really going to do something big like Omega vs. CM Punk, for example, if they have their big domestic show the very next week?

  12. Man. They really fucked it again, didnā€™t they? Two nights in a row.

Shite forgettable episode of Raw on a normal week, let alone the Raw after Mania - that they themselves make such a big deal about. Seems as obvious as ever that Vince is back involved in creative, so many of his usual lazy tropes throughout the showā€¦and letā€™s not forget the return of ā€œlocal medical facilitiesā€.

KO/Zayn vs. Street Profits was really good, I quite enjoyed the Bad Bunny beat down and enjoyed Brock going mental (though baffled by the cop out) but other than that it was a totally forgettableĀ

Be interested to see what kind of reaction the live crowd had to being misled that main event (including a rare Roman Reigns match) and the only return/surprise being Matt Riddle.

After night 1 of Wrestlemania, I thought weā€™d be in for a cracking weekend with it ending in optimism in WWE being at a modern high. In reality theyā€™ve probably alienated a lot of casuals even further.

  13. Via The Telegraph:

ā€˜Suella Braverman was so impressed by the decor of the Rwanda homes being built for migrants deported from the UK that she joked she wanted the name of their interior designerā€™

  14. Someone needs to get him off Twitter.Ā
    Ā

Heā€™s announced Orange Cassidy vs. Sex pest Jay Lethal and gotten a negative reaction. Now heā€™s replying to wrestling ā€˜journalistsā€™ with a sell job so bad he should expect a cabinet position with the Tories soon.

Big box office success? Also, their 2nd match was the most watched because it kicked off the show that directly followed Big Bang Theory on TBS. The rest of the show after those few minutes averaged 900+k viewers.

Matches usually donā€™t require this level of justification.

@METAL ON METALĀ how's Amad Diallo actually doing? I can't trust the opinion of United fan accounts posting his goals and odd bit of skill on Twitter and neither should anybody else.

    Quite bipolar.

Took him a few weeks to get into the team, then went on an absolutely fantastic run of being man of the match in most games and getting a goal or assist in pretty much every game for two months. First name on the team sheet. Won EFL young player of the month and PFA Fanā€™s player of the month in December.

But since January he has been very poor in most games, seemingly complete lack of effort or passion. Visibly sulky on the pitch at times. I donā€™t know if itā€™s a confidence, fatigue or ego thing but you honestly donā€™t know what player is going to turn up from week to week. His recent drop in form ties in with Ross Stewart getting injured actually, come to think of it.

Heā€™s nowhere near playing for Man Utd regularly (yet, at least), Iā€™d say heā€™ll need at least another season in the Championship before attempting the step up. That all depends on his attitude, but heā€™s only 20 and can produce moments out of nothing. The expectation from his price tag definitely canā€™t help the lad but thereā€™s definitely a player in there when heā€™s motivated.

  16. Words canā€™t describe how much I detest Dan Burn. Lanky career Championship player at best, who since signing for them, his whole personality has suddenly become that heā€™s a Geordie and playing up to the ā€˜jawdee nashionā€™. Basically heā€™s Jimmy Nail in shin pads. Just cringy shite.

Only solace with Newcastle being owned by the rich murderers, the ā€˜lifelongā€™ fans like Burn and Dummett will be the first ones thrown by the wayside without a thought.

People talk about Adam Coleā€™s Physique all the time, Tez is smaller than him.

You are talking utter bollocks. Thereā€™s probably at least 4 inches height difference and a good 40/50 lbs difference.

This isnā€™t intended as a slight against Cole, but heā€™s not noticeably much taller than Britt Baker. Whereas Ford towers over Bianca Belair (who is the same billed height as Baker).

  18. I remember going to Egypt around 2015/16, the bloke had done fuck all at Chelsea and was out on loan in Italy but fuck me, Iā€™ve never seen a country so obsessed with a player than the Egyptians were of Salah.

He was the topic of conversation within 10 seconds of meeting any local. All the knock off Chelsea & Roma kits hanging in every little market stall and his face plastered on nearly every billboard youā€™d see.

Not one single mention of Ahmed Elmohamady mind.

Fans have a right to protest, boo, cheer, vent their frustrations, ask for change, demand change even. Most fans and most clubs do this and there's a right way of doing that. What the cunts don't have a right to do is confront players and their children, or chase cars down the road, send death threats to people threatenening both them AND their families because the scrotes want a reason to be aggressive and aren't happy unless they have an excuse to be angry.Ā

    Ā

In hindsight, Iā€™m very happy this Chris Coleman response was the worst it got with us in terms on confrontations with fans.

  20. They did the same with Ellis Simms (who had to be practically consoled by Tony Mowbray when Everton recalled him from his loan spell with us), despite him only playing 17 minutes for them over the three games since returning.

Odious twats. Itā€™s just such embarrassing, counterproductive and downright scummy behaviour. Would hate to see how theyā€™d react if their club had say back to back relegations and multiple years in League Oneā€¦.all recorded on a global streaming service in perpetuity.
