As the SWA year comes to a close, the events of our chaotic year will come to a head in a huge double header!

After his recent demand to the SWA committee for bigger and better competition was granted, "The Aggressive Technician" Damian O'Connor overcame 10 year European veteran Paul Tracey in an enthralling battle which could have gone either way.

After the match however, O'Connor was smashed with a steel chair by one of the "Originals" The Raging Bull. Bull fled before O'Connor came to, but in retaliation, O'Connor attacked SWA owner Peter Murphy whom he thought was the perp. We expect to hear from Murphy regarding the collision, but that victory over Paul Tracey has sent O'Connor's stock rising in the SWA, and could finally put him into contention for a long awaited opportunity at the Scottish Heavyweight Championship.

His next opponent is going to be another massive challeng, and is perhaps the best all-rounder in Scotland today, "Bad Boy" Liam Thomson.

Thomson has stated that now is the time for him to be recognised as a Heavyweight Champion, an honor that has so far elluded him in his career. After failing at the final hurdle in 2010 against then champion Scott Renwick, Thomson has trained harder, gained way more experience and is doubly focused. He's ready to make his mark as we roll into Govan!

These two have never squared off in singles competition, and are very well matched. Although O'Connor may have the height and power advantage, Thomson most certainly has the speed and agility to counteract him.

What we will see here is arguably the best technical wrestler in Scotland vs. arguably the best all rounder....this should be something special! What role however, will SWA's owner Peter Murphy and the "Originals" play, if any?

Expect to see SWA Stars such as NWA Scottish Champion Andy Anderson, Nikki Storm, Tag Team Champions Adam Shame and Eric Canyon, and many more!

More details to be announced soon.

Another man who took Murphy's words to heart at Point of Origin, was the former masked sensation Falcon. Falcon turned his back on former tag team partner Black Samurai Jr. to join the "Originals" and made a statement in Uddingston when he destroyed Lewis Girvan. After the match however, Falcon unmasked, throwing down the attire he's famous for, and then spat all over it. This is the birth of the new Falcon.

His first match without his mask couldn't be any bigger, it happens to be against current NWA Scottish Heavyweight Champion "The Surprise Package" Andy Anderson. Anderson has been on a roll since he downed Eric Canyon to lift the Heavyweight Title, capping off one hell of a year. The underdog became the youngest ever Champion in SWA's history, but he has certainly earned his stripes, after training and working in Canada with Lance Storm, two tours of the United States and training at WWE's Florida training facility. Anderson's committment to his cause is most certainly second to none.

It will be interesting to see who comes off the better man in what we expect to be a high flying, fast paced affair between two phenomenally talented wrestlers.

Already up Dom!

Third match announced already for Govan!

Former NWA Scottish Heavyweight Champion Eric Canyon lost his title in August to rising star, the trail blazer, "The Surprise Package" Andy Anderson. Since then, he has been afraid to look owner Peter Murphy in the eye. Murphy saw Canyon's loss as an embarassment to the newly formed "Originals" and at Point of Origin in Uddingston he gave Canyon one hell of a challenge for Canyon to make up for it.

He had to topple the phenomenon that is Joe Coffey in a strap match. Unfortunately Canyon was unable to comply and lost what was a fantastic match up to the agile powerhouse Joe Coffey. Because of this, Murphy will be laying down the gauntlet to Canyon as we roll into Govan. We haven't yet been given full details as to the "trials" Canyon will have to go through, but we do know that he will have to face off against the man-monster John "The Bomb" Graham. Whats more, if The Bomb wins, he and tag partner Nathan Black will finally get a real shot at the Tag Team Titles the very next night in Motherwell!!!

For Graham this is the biggest opportunity in his short career so far, not only because the gold is on the line, but because Motherwell is HIS town. This has the potential to be a hard hitting, almost frightening affair if The Bomb's previous match ups are anything to go by....but don't count out Eric Canyon just yet!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Fourth match announced! Laird of the Ring Champion Joe Coffey has so far seen off all challengers in defence of his title. With massive victories over the biggest names in Scotland, Coffey has helped raise the esteem of the Championship. Its surely only a matter of time before Coffey moves forward to challenge for the Heavyweight Title. At the end of the day, Coffey believes in success and nothing less.

His next challenge, may not be as straight forward however. The "Lowland Superstar" Glen Dunbar has been catatonic since he lost in his only ever Scottish Heavyweight Title opportunity. He had been primed and ready, training harder, working harder, studying his every detail of his opponent Andy Anderson....and yet the "Surprise Package" was able to walk away with the victory.

Not only has Dunbar been livid, but he has been told that if he doesn't make good against Joe Coffey, then he is out of the Originals group and perhaps out of SWA altogether! With Coffey seemingly unstoppable, could we see the end of Dunbar's career in SWA???

Fifth match announced!

SWA is delighted to announce that one of the premier female wrestlers in Britain will be making her debut in Govan at Trial By Fire. The 8 Year pro - Erin Angel! The Southampton native is well known for her top-rope aerial offense and will doing everything in her power to make her mark in the SWA...but that may be harder than she realises, as she will be going up against the ruthless Viper! With Viper's visciousness coupled with her hefty power, this could be an epic David vs. Goliath battle! Erin Angel will have to rely on her agility and experience to overcome such a frightening opponent. This should be an excellent clash of styles!

Big news from the SWA committee. It appears that former SWA Laird of the Ring, T-Division and Tag Team Champion Chris Renfrew will be in attendance at Govan! The last time we saw Renfrew was in August when he made a massive statement by hitting his infamous Spinebuster on Dickie Divers. Will Renfrew explain what happened in Motherwell, or does he have another agenda for Govan?? Only one way to find out on the 25th November!!!
