Osaka Pro on SKY-A - June 27, 2010, Osaka - (1 1/2 hrs)

June 27, 2010, Osaka - Matsushita IMP Hall (729 fans)

1. Billy Ken Kid & Asian Cougar & Atsushi Kotoge & Daisuke Harada -vs- Black Buffalo & Tigers Mask & Orochi & The Bodyguard [** 1/4]

--- A real good way to open the show with a big 8-man tag of the motivated kind as the heels do their best to hurt the faces and especially Harada who got isolated a lot getting thrown around and multi-teamed down. And that had to mean a happy comeback as Harada fought them off and managed to German Orichi for the pin!

13:03 of 13:49 - Harada pinned Orochi with a German Suplex

2. Tadasuke -vs- Shigehiro Irie [3/4*]

--- Only half the match aired and Tadasuke beat the indy guy rather easy with the Outcast finisher.

3:32 of 7:19 - Tadasuke pinned Irie after the Outkast

3. Yutaka & Ebessan III & Perro -vs- Tsubasa & Takoyakida & Kanjyouro Matsuyama [1/2*]

--- The traditional Osaka Pro comedy tag. As you'd expect it to be with a little wrestling mixed in with the dog winning.

9:42 of 12:16 - Perro pinned Takoyakida after a top rope senton

4. Kuishinbo Kamen -vs- Ranmaru - (Owari/World's #1 Titles) [* 1/4]

--- Just watch the clown beat up the woman! Comically evil! And he wasn't just satified with beating up the bitch. He also bitchslapped the guys around ringside following the match! Yeah, Kuishinbo Kamen was a mean son of a bitch in this one.... which ment he had to lose, didn't it?! YES!!!

12:12 of 14:11 - Ranmaru pinned Kuishinbo with a forward rolling cradle to become the 4th Owari/World's #1 Champion.

5. Masaaki Mochizuki & Don Fujii -vs- Hideyoshi & Masamune - (Osaka Tag Festival '10 - Final) [** 1/2]

--- The annual Osaka Tag Festival and this years final is between Dragon Gate's veteran team of Mochizuki & Fujii against the reigning Festival winners Hideyoshi & Masamune! And we got the expected long epic battle. A little too long as they ran out of ideas how to keep it alive and it get kind of random and repetitive toward the end when they should have brought something new and different. But the effort was there to give the fans a good match. And the Dragon Gate side were the mean outsiders with the home side getting to happy comeback moments. But not happy enough as Fujii & Mochizuki would always find a way to knock them back down again. And Mochizuki especially kicking Hideyoshi's head in quite nicely to beat him for the tournament gold! And now they want Osaka Tag gold as they set up a title match between the new Osaka Tag Festival winners against current Osaka Pro Tag Champions Harada & Kotoge!

22:28 of 22:28 - Mochizuki pinned Hideyoshi after a high headkick. Mochizuki & Fujii win the Osaka Tag Festival 2010.

COMMENTS: Good show from Osaka Pro with two tag matches meaning something and the comedy belt match which was funny.

FUTEN on COMM - June 27, 2010, Kawasaki - (1 1/4 hrs)

June 27, 2010, Kawasaki - Lazona Kawasaki Plaza Sol

1. Daisuke Ikdea -vs- Hajime Moriyama [* 1/2]

--- Futen's main man Ikeda giving Moriyama enough chances to shine. Looked a little too forced in some instances, but Moriyama did hold his ground landing a fine Frankensteiner and beating Ikeda bloody. But Ikeda is THE man in the company and was naturally winning with a neck/headlock for the submission after knocking Moriyama down enough times.

11:22 of 11:22 - Ikeda made Moriyama submit to a kesa hold

2. Koichiro Kimura -vs- Kazuki Okubo [* 1/4]

--- Mostly about the submissions with veteran Kimura being the king at that game and winning without too many challenges.

9:26 of 9:27 - Kimura made Okubo submit to a standing cross-heel hold

3. Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei -vs- Takeshi Ono & Ryuichi Sekine [* 3/4]

--- Still weird seeing the Sato's in this kind of style, but they still do their thing double-teaming and and spitting water all over the place to get a yellow card in the process. Ono and Sekine tried to fight the cheating off and got in some short moments of glory, but it didn't last as Shu threw Sekine down with the Zombie King before applying the pressure on a Camel Clutch for the win.

12:48 of 12:50 - Shu made Seikne submit to a Camel Clutch

4. Makoto Hashi -vs- Manabu Suruga [**]

--- Headbutts!!! Hashi murdered Suruga with a bunch of them resulting in the referee having to stop the fight! Cool end to a overall solid fight where Suruga had to fight hard to stand up to the former NOAH guy.

11:26 of of 11:27 - Hashi defeated Suruga by TKO after headbutts

5. Kengo Mashimo -vs- Takahiro Oba [** 1/2]

--- Didn't know what to make of it at first with Oba being kind of abnormal, but you got to love the moment where he mocked Mashimo straight in his face only to get royally knocked down! The match got real good in the later stanges with the powerbomb into a triagle hold being one of my favourite moments. The main gist of the match was that Oba nearly was getting on Mashimo's level, but would fail regardless even if he did do a lot of damage and they both was nearly KO'ed together a few times. In the end the Kaientai Dojo ace got the better of Oba as expected making him submit to a cross-armbreaker.

14:05 of 14:06 - Mashimo made Oba submit to a cross-armbreaker

COMMENTS: Another fine show by Futen with the main event growing nicely and a ok undercard to back it up with some spirited fighting.

NEO on COMM - June 27, 2010, Sapporo - (2 hrs)

June 27, 2010, Sapporo Teisen Hall (223 fans)

1. Tanny Mouse -vs- Sayaka Obihiro [1/4*]

--- Tanny didn't have to be that dominant with the rookie. But that's what she was. A squash.

8:43 of 8:43 - Tanny pinned Obihiro with the European Clutch

2. Emi Sakura & Aya Yuki -vs- Hiroyo Matsumoto & Hamuko Hoshi [*]

--- Fun match. Nothing extraordinary. Only a crowd pleasing action match with Yuki winning with the Death Valley Bomb with the originator Etsuko Mita in the crowd enjoying what she was seeing.

14:37 of 14:37 - Yuki pinned Hoshi after a Death Valley Bomb

3. Yoshiko Tamura & Hikaru Shida -vs- Natsuki*Taiyo & Tsukasa Fujimoto [* 1/4]

--- More action of the happy brainless kind. Easy fun, a few nice moves, a bunch of near falls and Tamura beating a Ice Ribbon girl.

16:19 of 16:20 Tamura pinned Fujimoto after a Patriot Buster

4. Manami Toyota -vs- Makoto [3/4*]

--- Makoto got support from Etsuko Mita. Or Makoto ran and hid behind Mita rather. It was interesting to see how Mita guided the match by just being in the crowd talking. The way she directed trafic to stop Toyota from jumping off the turnbuckle and send Makoto up there to jump instead. Not that it helped matters much. Toyota was always going to kick her ass anyway. Regardless, this match really got me thinking. Makoto has got a really nice ass. I hadn't noticed that before, but we got a very nice shot of it as she was doing a test of strenght with Toyota.

15:09 of 15:09 - Toyota pinned Makoto with the Japanese Ocean Cyclon Suplex Hold

5. 13-Woman Battle Royal [1/2*]

--- Battle Royal time with the undercard girls with Tanny winning the damn thing. Best part though was the slaps Tamura and Emi Sakura gave each other! Now that was fire!

(0:24) - Sayaka Obihiro eliminated

(1:26) - Manami Toyota eliminated

(1:34) - Makoto eliminated

(2:15) - Natsuki*Taiyo eliminated

(2:52) - Hikaru Shida eliminated

(3:33) - Tsukasa Fujimoto eliminated

(3:56) - Hiroyo Matsumoto eliminated

(4:27) - Aya Yuki eliminated

(5:33) - Emi Sakura eliminated

(7:05) - Yoshiko Tamura eliminated

(7:57) - Megumi Yabushita eliminated

(8:14) - Hamuko Hoshi eliminated

8:14 of 8:25 - Tanny Mouse win the 13-Woman Battle Royal

6. Nanae Takahashi © -vs- Yuki Miyazaki - (JWP Title) [* 3/4]

--- They tried. And it got fairly exciting at the end, but this was a very sloppy match. Weak execution in true Miyazaki mode. Nanae and her shakey style didn't help matters much and a long time there it looked like this match was going to be wasted. The excitement did kick in toward the end with Miyazaki taking control and landing big moves like the consecutive moonsault spot, second rope Tiger Suplex and most of all Miyazaki landing the moonsault double-footstomp! But we all know Nanae is unpinnable so she kicked out as she always does and landed Nanaraccas again and again until she had the NEO girl beat to retain the JWP Title.

18:41 of 18:41 - Takahashi pinned Miyazaki with the Nanaracca to retain the JWP Title in her 2nd defence.

COMMENTS: The tour ender for NEO's trip up north of Japan and it was the best show of a bunch of average ones much thanks to the main event.

WAVE on COMM: WAVE MANIACS 2 - March-April 2010 - (3 1/4 hrs)

March 9, 2010, Tokyo - Shin-Kiba 1st RING (180 fans)

1. Ryo Mizunami -vs- Moeka Haruhi [1/2*]

--- Haruhi tried at least, but she's so weak she doesn't really have any credibility as she worked over Mizunami's arm and soon found herself tapping instead when Mizunami had her locked in a shoulder hold.

4:17 of 6:30 - Mizunami made Haruhi submit to a shoulder hold

2. Shuu Shibutani & Fuka & Misaki Ohata -vs- Gami & Mio Shirai & Io Shirai - (2/3 Falls) [* 1/2]

--- This was Fuka's final WAVE before retiring so naturally the match was a lot about her. The first couple of falls was mostly about her friend Shibutani and her trading falls with Io having some decent running around wrestling. The final one was Fuka with some of her old friends wanting to join in before Fuka got the tribute win beating Gami with the F Doll kick!

6:37 of 9:52 - Shibutani pinned Io after a top rope senton

1:03 of 1:12 - Io pinned Shibutani with a bridging backslide

7:22 of 14:05 - Fuka pinned Gami after the Doll F headkick

3. Shuu Shibutani -vs- Fuka [*]

--- .....and before quitting as a pro-wrestler Fuka wanted a little singles match with her fellow Jd' trained friend Shibutani. 5-min exhibition with more sprint style fighting. At least a little more focused then the tag, but too short to become anything more then a small tribute.

3:37 of 5:00 - Shibutani wrestled Fuka to a 5:00 Time Limit Draw

March 20, 2010, Osaka World Hall (204 fans)

4. Kana & Cherry -vs- Shuu Shibutani & Bullfight Sora [* 1/4]

--- Decent tag and Sora didn't stink up the place. But what was most interesting about this match was Shibutani getting bloody face around eye area on a freak accident. Kana was going for a kick with Shibutani in the corner and Shibutani was supposed to duck it. But she couldn't slide out of there in the right direction and slipped her head right down to get her face sliced open by Kana's boot/kick pad. At first it looked like the kick had missed as it was supposed to but the reaction from the girls in the ring singnaled something was wrong and you could see Shibutani not feeling all that well from the accident. Regardless she finished the bout as a pro while Kana got the win taking care of the cow.

10:53 of 16:19 - Kana pinned Sora after a uraken

5. Mima Shimoda & Yumi Ohka -vs- Hiroyo Matsumoto & Misaki Ohata [* 1/4]

--- The Ohata stuff was what made this one. She had a thing with both Shimoda and Ohka. The Ohka part was the best and how the bout ended with Ohka kicking out of a bunch of stuff before getting Tiger Suplexed for the three.

9:51 of 14:59 - Ohka pinned Ohata with a Tiger Suplex

6. Ran Yu Yu & Toshie Uematsu & Ryo Mizunami -vs- Gami & Mio Shirai & Io Shirai - (2/3 Falls) [*]

--- Yeah, it had it's moments, but with all the running around it was too messy to really be good. Ran finished Io with authority. Gami finished Mizunami with authority. And Uematsu finished Mio with authority. Veterans night!

1:35 of 1:35 - Yu Yu pinned Io after a elbow smash

6:18 of 12:18- Gami pinned Mizunami after a wrist-clutch fishermans buster

4:04 of 6:24 - Uematsu pinned Mio with a Dragon Suplex

March 24, 2010, Tokyo - Shin-Kiba 1st RING (112 fans)

7. Kana & Cherry -vs- Mio Shirai & Io Shirai [*]

--- Typical Shirai and Kana action without doing anything too special with their qualities. Kana shows she is the strongest knocking down Mio with some kind of punch.

9:18 of 12:12 - Kana pinned Mio after a Russian Hook punch

8. Bullfight Sora & Sakura Hirota -vs- Misaki Ohata & Moeka Haruhi [1/2*]

--- Sora & Hirota coming out as Road Warriors copies..... best part was the backstange interview with the two after the match trying to speak english!

6:06 of 11:07 - Sora pinned Ohata with a small package

9. Yumi Ohka -vs- Shimono Sawako [*]

--- Sawako had made her pro debut only 3 days earlier on the first Osaka based Daijo show. So this makes Sawako's WAVE debut facing the promotions spirit girl. And Sawako seems ok strong, but not really anything special. Plus she's on the short side. But she put on a decent attempt here considering it was only her second match. But naturally Ohka took care of business in the end.....

8:21 of 12:27 - Ohka pinned Sawako with a neck-hanging bomb

10. Ran Yu Yu & Toshie Uematsu -vs- Gami & Ryo Mizunami [3/4*]

--- Comedy WAVE with Lumberjacks with plastic baseball bats as one of the ingredience. Mizunami also did impressions, but things got disguisting with a long lespian kiss with her and Gami.....

12:05 of 23:42 - Ran pinned Gami after a elbow smash

April 4, 2010, Tokyo - Cinema Club (151 fans)

11. Tojuki Leon -vs- Gami [* 1/2]

--- Memorial match for their ARSION background I guess. But the best part of this was Leon's big springboard dive....diving straight into the balcony which is too close to the ring area in the Cinema Club! As for the match itself, they had one of those competitive action bouts typical on the joshi scene. First to the time limit and then 87 seconds into the time extension Leon managed to beat the veteran!

7:34 of 15:00 - Leon wrestled Gami to a 15:00 Time Limit Draw

1:27 of 1:27 - Leon pinned Gami after the Captured Buster

12. Toshie Uematsu & Kazuki -vs- Jaguar Yokota & Cherry [*]

--- Uematsu's all over the place! Yokota was being a wonderful Uematsu impression! I nearly mistook her for the real one! Yokota & Cerry were wearing the modern Uematsu costume while Uematsu & Kazuki were using the more rookie based Uematsu style. And naturally the match was all Uematsu style wrestling. Almost too much Uematsu for me.....

8:51 of 14:02 - Uematsu pinned Cherry with a modified small package

13. Misaki Ohata & Moeka Haruhi © -vs- Ryo Mizunami & Kagetsu - (TLW Young Women's Tag Title) [**]

--- A good action bout for these new tag belts. The Sendai Girls side of Mizunami & Kagetsu were all over the WAVE girls in this one and gave them tons of trouble and were clearly the top team even if the belts were not theirs. But regardless of their efforts they were not able to catch the gold as Ohata managed to take care of the weak link on the Sendai team beating her with a fishermans buster after Mizunami had been nearly unstopbable through-out the entire bout!

11:46 of 18:46 - Ohata pinned Kagetsu after a fishermans buster. Ohata & Haruhi retain the TLW Young Women's Tag Title in their 1st defence.

14. Yumi Ohka -vs- Asami Kawasaki [*]

--- Old Jd' Star friends. Ohka is like the younger loser ace of WAVE while Asami has been out of the business a while. And while they tried to have a competitive one with a lot of big boots to exhaustion, Ohka was clearly the better of the two in every way and beat Asami with neck-hanging moves.

8:25 of 14:03 - Ohka pinned Kawasaki with a neck-hanging bomb

April 20, 2010, Tokyo - Shin-Kiba 1st RING (117 fans)

15. Misaki Ohata & Io Shirai -vs- Ryo Mizunami & Mio Shirai [* 1/2]

--- Mio and Io on opposite sides and with Mizunami and Ohata having a rivalry going making it a ok bout even if it was of the usual joshi running-around kind. The match went to time limit with a whole bunch of cradles being traded at the end before the bell rang.

10:59 of 15:00 - Ohata & Io wrestled Mizunami & Mio to a 15:00 Time Limit Draw

16. Tomoka Nakagawa -vs- Moeka Haruhi [3/4*]

--- Not as terrible as one could expect with Haruhi there. She's weak, but she's managing not to look totally embarrassing which is the best she can aim for. But there was little doubt who was winning this one.....

7:23 of 12:30 - Nakagawa pinned Haruhi after a low-angle lariat

17. Kana -vs- Shuu Shibutani [* 3/4]

--- Shibutani back from the eye injury Kana caused in March, so whats more natural then the two fighting it out? And it was a fairly good battle. Not all perfect or original, but they put in enough energy to make it work and they played up the corner kick well and with Shibutani wanting extra hard to beat the stiffer. But no way was that will strong enough as Kana knocked her down with a uraken and other moves before locking in a modified leglock with focus on the ankle to make Shibutani tap.

11:28 of 18:16 - Kana made Shibutani submit to a modified ankle hold

COMMENTS: Two months of WAVE and the TLW Tag Title match was the highlight along with the curiosity of Shibutani's bleeding face, but there as usual wasn't much sticking out. It was the normal sprint action.

WAVE on COMM: WAVE MANIACS 3 - May-July 2010 - (3 1/2 hrs)

May 11, 2010, Tokyo - Shin-Kiba 1st RING (132 fans)

1. Ayumi Kurihara & Misaki Ohata -vs- Ryo Mizunami & Moeka Haruhi [**]

--- A fairly well executed action bout. Nothing revolutionary, but they girl worked had and managed to work it well as long as they kept Haruhi out of it. Haruhi did land her top rope double-footstomp/hipdrop nicely too to add to the experience which made you feel like you were watching good wrestling. Kurihara is the natural star in such a match and won trashing Haruhi with the Hiroshi Hase suplexes.

9:59 of 13:29 - Kurihara pinned Haruhi after a throat slam suplex

2. Toshie Uematsu -vs- Io Shirai [* 1/2]

--- Io looked good in this singles match against veteran Uematsu. Serious and focused, but I kind of missed more of Shirai's personality shining through. But wrestling wise the match was fine until Uematsu got her win with the Solarina style inside cradle.

8:33 of 11:05 - Uematsu pinned Shirai with a modified small package

3. Gami & Bullfight Sora -vs- Aja Kong & Sakura Hirota [3/4*]

--- Comedy, but it wasn't all that painful at the start as Aja would play with Sora. Loved the face punch Aja did when Sora tried to stop Aja from climbing the turnbuckle! Then it turned painful with Aja doing slow-mo wrestling with the others and sour milk was spilled all over the ring resulting in Hirota slipping in it for the pin.

12:54 of 18:05 - Sora pinned Hirota after she slipped on milk

4. Shuu Shibutani & Cherry -vs- Yumi Ohka & Asami Kawasaki [* 1/4]

--- A mixed bag as far as execution goes. A straight forward joshi action match, but most of these girls isn't exactly known for their excellent timing so some of this was half-off without getting too terrible. But it prevented the match from growing. Asami was the main offender and she fittingly did the job once Shibutani landed the top rope senton.

11:41 of 17:04 - Shibutani pinned Kawasaki after a top rope senton

May 19, 2010, Tokyo - Shin-Kiba 1st RING (145 fans)

5. Yumi Ohka & Kana -vs- Gami & Io Shirai [* 1/4]

--- Had it's good parts, but it did feature Gami which took the main edge away and prevented this from being too memorable. Solid action when the younger girls was on attack and the extra good point being Gami doing the job to Ohka!

12:26 of 16:28 - Ohka pinned Gami after a big boot

6. Moeka Haruhi -vs- Senri Kuroka [1/2*]

--- Two not so tallented facing each other. Expect the worst and you'll be pleasantly surprised that it didn't suck too much donkey balls. Still very basic and it was Haruhi's footstomp variations that was the main thing sticking out and a top rope one ended it all.

7:48 of 11:19 - Haruhi pinned Kuroka after a top rope double-footstomp/hipdrop

7. Toshie Uematsu -vs- Mio Shirai [* 1/4]

--- Now it's Mio's turn to lose to Uematsu after Uematsu beat Io a week earlier. Mio was competitive a while, but once Uematsu was looking for cradles Mio was out-matched and it was only a matter of time before Uematsu got the pin. A more decisive finish this time. A Dragon Suplex after all the cradles variations had failed.

7:26 of 12:41 - Uematsu pinned Shirai with a Dragon Suplex

8. Ayumi Kurihara & Tojuki Leon & Bullfight Sora -vs- Shuu Shibutani & Misaki Ohata & Cherry - (2/3 Falls) [**]

--- The first couple of falls was all about Sora. That being the silly stuff and her getting beat and then equalizing setting the table for a good final fall where the better girls was in focus running around and landing their big moves. Cherry's Swanton Bomb landed real hard, but by all her teams efforts they were unable to get the deciding fall. Instead Kurihara won with a schoolboy after the throat slam had failed.

3:24 of 4:30 - Shibutani pinned Sora after a top rope senton

3:30 of 10:43 - Sora pinned Cherry with a cradle reversal

8:37 of 9:30 - Kurihara pinned Shibutani with a schoolboy

9. Ayumi Kurihara -vs- Bullfight Sora [*]

--- Kurihara wanted a singles match with Sora before she retires and got her wish getting a short 5-min match with the cow. And they had a fairly ok sprint with Sora getting a couple of near wins using cradles before Kurihara put in a hard effort adn won seconds before time.

4:29 of 4:58 - Kurihara pinned Sora after a throat slam suplex

June 9, 2010, Tokyo - Shin-Kiba 1st RING (81 fans)

10. Yumi Ohka & Bambi -vs- Moeka Haruhi & Misaki Ohata [*]

--- They tried to make it special for Haruhi letting her get to live long and do fairly well, but it was mostly questionably executed even if the WAVE fans don't mind that. But there is only so much a terrible worked like Haruhi can survive and Bambi beat her down until she had the girl where she wanted her.

11:37 of 14:08 - Bambi pinned Haruhi after a Shining Wizard

July 4, 2010, Tokyo - Cinema Club (214 fans)

11. Cherry & Io Shirao & Tomoka Nakagawa -vs- Gami & Yumi Ohka & Toshie Uematsu [* 1/2]

--- Joshi sprint. The usual. Ok. Even with Gami. Because she did the job losing to Cherry.....

11:05 of 13:43 - Cherry pinned Gami with the Fantasy Illusion schoolboy

12. Sakura Hirota -vs- Shimono Sawako [1/4*]

--- Sakura Hirota as.....GAMI!!! Yuck......

5:48 of 9:58 - Hirota pinned Sawako after Sawako tripped

13. Moeka Haruhi & Misaki Ohata © -vs- Basara & Bambi - (TLW Women's Tag Title) [* 1/4]

--- The weak TLW Tag Champions lose their belts to the whippin' girl Bambi and the Sendai wrestler formerly known as Tyrannosaurus Okuda. Ohata kind of had to fight for two as Haruhi wasn't going to look good no matter how much they try. They did manage to get a tiny bit of decent action going on with Haruhi doing the job with a slow German from Basara.

11:54 of 13:36 - Basara pinned Haruhi with a German Suplex. Basara & Bambi become the 3rd TLW Women's Tag Champions.

May 30, 2010, Tokyo - Shin-Kiba 1st RING (326 fans)

Sora Retirement Series:

14. Kyoko Kimura -vs- Bullfight Sora [1/2*]

--- Bullfight Sora having a 5-Match series for her retirement and first up is her usual tag partner when she doesn't wear a mask in Kyoko Kimura. And one of the highlights was Sora threatning to kill a banana......

4:47 of 7:21 - Kimura pinned Sora after a big boot

15. Tomoka Nakagawa -vs- Bullfight Sora [1/2*]

--- ....then it was fellow stable mate Nakagawa's turn to beat her using the Strong Arm lariat on her.

3:20 of 7:20 - Nakagawa pinned Sora after a low angle lariat

16. Toshie Uematsu -vs- Bullfight Sora [3/4*]

--- Uematsu got help from Ran Yu Yu who also got in her last touches on the cow. But she did also assist in Sora's big babyface moment of the match when Ran rolled Uematsu in position for Sora to land the top rope splash! Soon after Ran smashed and elbow in her face and the rest is hitory....

4:21 of 5:06 - Uematsu pinned Sora with a Dragon Suplex

17. Akino -vs- Bullfight Sora [1/2*]

--- Joke fighting as always with Sora and even against Akino she manages to slip into her comedy persona....and gets deservingly beaten again!

5:05 of 6:30 - Akino pinned Sora with a huracanrana

18. Bullfight Sora -vs- Gami - (Sora's Retirement Match; Slow Motion Lumberjack Punishment Comical Death Match) [3/4*]

--- So finally no more Bullfight Sora......!!! She does get to win her final match beating the lady thats been supportive of her through-out her career. And it had to be a stupid comedy match with slo-mo rules and plastic weaponed lumberjacks to add to the pain (for the viewer). Still it had it's charm as one don't really expect anything else from these two and when a bunch of other girls invaded the match to add to the spirit it almost put a smile on my face......

12:43 of 16:32 - Sora pinned Gami with a small package

COMMENTS: A few ok tags. But not too many important matches or moments apart from the TLW Tag bouts and Bullfight Sora's final.

WAVE on COMM: OSAKA RHAPSODY 9 - June 27, 2010, Osaka - (1 3/4 hrs)

June 27, 2010, Osaka - Matsushita IMP Hall (512 fans)

1. Misaki Ohata -vs- Ryo Mizunami - (Catch the WAVE - Young Block) [* 1/2]

--- Competitve and fairly motivated, but with such a short time limit which took away a real finish as it ended a time limit draw. But at least a positive start to this Osaka absed WAVE show.

9:33 of 10:00 - Ohata wrestled Mizunami to a 10:00 Time Limit Draw

2. Cherry & Kanjyouro Matsuyama -vs- Sakura Hirota & Kuishinbo Kamen [1/2*]

--- Then for the joint-WAVE/Osaka Pro production comedy match with Sakura Hirota as Ebessan! Was never going to be super funny, but still Hirota can be a crazy one....

12:35 of 13:21 - Matsuyama pinned Hirota after the Jindaiko

3. Tomoka Nakagawa & Moeka Haruhi -vs- Mio Shirai & Io Shirai [*]

--- They worked ok hard, but anything with Haruhi would stink and I was scared they'd actually give her the win over the Shirais. They almost did too! But saves was made at the last possible moments and it whole ended as a time limit draw.

9:56 of 10:00 - Nakagawa & Haruhi wrestled Mio & Io to a 10:00 Time Limit Draw

4. Carlos Amano & Chikayo Nagashima & Sonoko Kato -vs- Kana & Ayumi Kurihara & Shuu Shibutani [**]

--- Oz Academy vs WAVE regulars for a real solid joshi-style action match. A little on the light side, but plenty of energy and good action. Shibutani was the weak link and the one too keep this one down. Her timing was off several times with Gami on commentary laughing at it. Still this was a fun match to watch and did have it's share of moments to like before Shibutani was taken care of.

13:54 of 13:59 - Kato pinned Shibutani after a reversed piledrvier

5. Black Buffalo & Tigers Mask -vs- Ran Yu Yu & Toshie Uematsu [3/4*]

--- Osaka Pro's male super team of Black Buffalo & Tigers Mask against one of the main regular joshi teams on the scene in Ran & Uematsu. But it didn't have too much to offer I felt. It was just a throw-away inter-gender tag in which the males won fairly easy in the end.

8:03 of 8:20 - Buffalo pinned Uematsu after a backdrop suplex

6. Aja Kong -vs- Yumi Ohka [* 1/4]

--- Solid at times, but not nearly as intense or good as this should be as one of WAVE's main stars face an experienced legend like Aja. Ohka tried her best to stand up to Aja, but always looked lightweight next to her and that became the legacy of this match as Aja had little problems powering Ohka down.....

13:26 of 15:25 - Kong pinned Ohka after a uraken

7. Meiko Satomura & Kagetsu -vs- Gami & Shimono Sawaki [* 1/2]

--- Long main event which is not the best thing considering Gami in involved, but with that said it had it's moments and didn't totally stink as Satomura made sure it was at a certain level. But of course with two unexperienced girls it wasn't going to be a massive match regardless. Only better then expected. And at least Satomura beat Gami knocking her skull in!

20:20 of 23:03 - Satomura pinned Gami after the Scorpion Rising

COMMENTS: WAVE in Osaka for a special show. No super match, but overall fairly enjoyable on the lower scale.

SECRET BASE on COMM - June 28, 2010, Warabi City - (1 1/4 hrs)

June 28, 2010, Warabi City Isami Wrestle Budokan (56 fans)

1. Amigo Suzuki & Ferist -vs- Kazuhiro Tamura & Blue Bicycle [3/4*]

--- There was some cool action in there, but they're not performing with the highest of confidence so a lot of the time it really looks like amateur hour. Blue Bicycle is getting better. Not better then his name, but still did a few positive things before Suzuki beat him with a Tiger Suplex. Oh, and Chango kept helping his combat pal Suzuki in this one.

10:22 of 10:20 - Suzuki pinned Bicycle with a Tiger Suplex

2. Bear Fukuda -vs- Spark Aoki [1/2*]

--- Boring squash as Aoki tries his best which just isn't even close.....

9:31 of 9:30 - Fukuda pinned Aoki after a brainbuster

3. Takeshi Minaminno -vs- Chango [3/4*]

--- A bore. And Minaminno looked winded from doing nearly nothing. This was like a challenge match for Chango fighting off the yakuza dude and he did sme damage with the Death Valley and kept up with Minaminno toe-to-toe fighting to exhaustion. They were booked to do a 20-min competitve bout and to prove they were not going to do anything extra beyond that Minaminno ended it as quickly has he heard the 20-min mark being called over the speakers.

20:21 of 20:15 - Minaminno pinned Chango after a Death Valley Bomb

4. GENTARO & Kamui -vs- Mototsugu Shimizu & Jun Ogawauchi [*]

--- Jun getting the spotlight giving GENTARO a lot of trouble, but GENTARO is a lot slyer and still won with one of his speciality cradles. And not a sound from the fans when GENTARO was declared the winner! How passionate!

15:36 of 15:37 - GENTARO pinned Ogawauchi with a neckmare cradle

COMMENTS: No total stinkers, but Secret Base doesn't exactly put on a product that captivates the fans.

NJPW on ESPN - June 28, 2010, Tokyo - (2 1/4 hrs)

June 28, 2010, Tokyo - Differ Ariake

1. Taichi Ishikari -vs- Kyosuke Mikami [3/4*]

--- Taichi back from Mexico! And now he wears a long-haired mask looking like a girl or that blond one from the Young Bucks. And he faces the fresh rookie Mikami and squashes him rather easy. Too easy as it became a slow and lazy fight with Taichi going after the taped leg of Mikami. He had one strange standing 69 position submission which didn't result in anything before pulling off his long pants and landing kicks to the head for the win.

7:13 of 7:13 - Ishikari pinned Mikami after a sliding kick

2. Shinsuke Nakamura & Masato Tanaka & Tomohiro Ishii -vs- Riki Choshu & King Fale & Tama Tonga [*]

--- The heel side of Nakamura, Tanaka & Ishii didn't have a tournament on the first day and faces a very random side of the Tonga's Fale & Tama and legendary Riki Choshu! Easy work for the most part. It wasn't like this bout was going to be anything special. It was rather a very condifent win for Nakamura knee'ing Fale down with the Boma Ye.

12:03 of 12:02 - Nakamura pinned Fale after a Boma Ye kneekick

3. Hirooki Goto & Prince Devitt & Ryusuke Taguchi -vs- Manabu Nakanishi & Koji Kanemoto & El Samurai - (J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament - Round 1) [* 1/4]

--- First J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament bout and it's two different generation that meet with the veteran side seemingly in control a lot of the time with Kanemoto controling the juniors and Nakanishi being a brute. But Devitt is the new junior ace in the company and almost out of nowhere beat the most experienced one in the match with the Bloody Sunday!

12:18 of 12:17 - Devitt pinned Samurai after the Bloody Sunday DDT

4. Yujiro Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito & Dick Togo -vs- Yuji Nagata & Wataru Inoue & Mitsuhide Hirasawa - (J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament - Round 1) [* 1/4]

--- No Limit teaming with Dick Togo! Up against the Blue Justice stable. And No Limit had a lot more to offer in this rather low priority match. They annoyed the Blue Justice guys enough to make it fun and naturally stole the win taking care of Hirasawa the No Limit way.

12:13 of 12:13 - Naito pinned Hirasawa with a jack knife cradle

5. Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma & Austin Creed -vs- Tamon Honda & Makoto Hashi & Kentaro Shiga - (J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament - Round 1) [* 1/2]

--- Old NOAH rejects Honda, Hashi & Shiga facing current IWGP Heavyweigth Champion Makane and his sidekick Honma and......Austin Creed?! Sure, why not! He's a very colorful person. However this match followed the trend on this show of acceptable matches without anything special happening. Even with the NOAH flavour it didn't create too much excitement. Then again these former NOAH guys are rather washed-up anyway so it's not like they have a lot to offer. At least they made the IWGP Champion look strong with Makabe landing the King Kong Kneedrop to beat Hashi.

13:51 of 13:50 - Makabe pinned Hashi after a top rope kneedrop

6. Hiroshi Tanahashi & Tajiri & Kushida -vs- Takashi Iizuka & Toru Yano & Gedo - (J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament - Round 1) [* 1/2]

--- Yeah, these matches have the same formula, same lenght, and same amount of easy quality. This one is interesting because of the new-found friendship between Tanahashi and Tajiri with SMASH student Kushida following along. At least the faces won even if the bad guys did do their best to stop them. And it ended close to out of nothing with the Buzzsaw. But Iizuka does not like Tanahashi and nearly passed him out with a sleeper.

12:38 of 12:38 - Tajiri pinned Gedo after a Buzzsaw headkick

COMMENTS: Professional set-up, average wrestling.

NOAH on Samurai TV - June 29, 2010, Fujisan - (2 hrs)

June 29, 2010, Fujisan - Fujisan Messe (1,150 fans)

1. Kento Miyahara -vs- Alex Payne [3/4*]

--- First time in Japan for Alex Payne? Probable. He looked kind of out of place. Not strong enough body and had a little problems communicating with Miyahara for this match. Still it was kind of interesting seeing how well they could do. It wasn't really a good match, but they kept it alive well enough regardless for it not to be terrible. And thankfully this gave Miyahara a rare win!

8:43 of 8:14 - Miyahara pinned Payne with a German Suplex

2. Akira Taue & Shuhei Taniguchi -vs- Katsuhiko Nakajima & Satoshi Kajiwara [* 1/2]

--- Taue only wanted to do comedy, but when Nakajima started beating him up Taue had to up his game a little bit. Plus Taniguchi was suplexing quite well while Kajiwara wanted to show off. Well, he showed off too much as he tried a hand-spring move and leeped straight into a German Suplex for the three. Started real uninteresting, got ok toward the end with the Kensuke Office guys giving the NOAH wrestlers more then they'd bargined for.

15:13 of 15:14 - Taniguchi pinned Kajiwara with a German Suplex

3. Akitoshi Saito & Takuma Sano -vs- Mohammed Yone & Ricky Marvin [*]

--- Marvin saved this one with some of his more fancy stuff as the others wasn't really interested in doing anything with this tag. Still Marvin was the junior in this one and was beat up by the big guys.

10:49 of 10:50 - Sano pinned Marvin after a Northern Light Bomb

4. Takeshi Morishima -vs- Eddie Edwards [*]

--- Not exactly a exciting match-up. Wasn't like Edwards had a chance. He tried a little, but of course Morishima squashed him!

9:01 of 9:01 - Morishima pinned Edwards after a backdrop suplex

5. Go Shiozaki & KENTA & Taiji Ishimori -vs- Jun Akiyama & Yoshinari Ogawa & Masao Inoue [* 3/4]

--- House show action match with the stars and KENTA's leg got worked over quite a bit in the early stanges. Ogawa showed what a cunning guy he can be and Inoue showed what a loser he is. Easy fun with some cool stuff mixed in. Could have been worse. At least they kept bringing the action even if the execution was very house show flavored.

20:07 of 20:08 - Shiozaki pinned Inoue after the Go Flasher

6. Bison Smith & Keith Walker -vs- Kensuke Sasaki & Takashi Okita [* 1/4]

--- Big guys. Not too much sticking out except Okita getting a trashing.....

10:17 of 10:34 - Walker pinned Okita with a neck-hanging Ligerbomb

7. Takashi Suguira & Naomichi Marufuji & Atsushi Aoki -vs- Yoshihiro Takayama & Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Genba Hirayanagi [*]

--- This one is leading up to the Sugiura vs Takayama and Kanemaru vs Marufuji GHC Heavyweight and Junior Heavyweight Title matches for the July 10th show. And it did nothing to build interest. Instead it becamse Genba's match with him losing in 10 minutes! Whats wrong with this booking?!

10:14 of 10:15 - Sugiura pinned Hirayanagi after a Olympic Slam

COMMENTS: Small show. None really interested in making it a memorable one for the Fujisan fans.

NJPW on ESPN - June 29, 2010, Tokyo - (2 1/2 hrs)

June 29, 2010, Tokyo - Differ Ariake

1. Takashi Iizuka & Toru Yano & Gedo -vs- Manabu Nakanishi & Koji Kanemoto & El Samurai [* 1/4]

--- These two teams was knocked out of the 1st round of this 6-man tag tournament and got something to prove. So the stubborn beating was on. Not in any way spectacular, but at least it was on point with the heels doing the business with Iizuka passing out Samurai with a sleeper.

10:46 of 10:45 - Iizuka defeated Samurai with a sleeper

2. Tamon Honda & Makoto Hashi & Kentaro Shiga -vs- Yuki Nagata & Wataru Inoue & Mitsuhide Hirasawa [* 1/2]

--- Two more teams that was knocked out of the first stage of the J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament. The ex-NOAH side against Nagata's Blue Justice stable. Standard stuff from them, but still interesting seeing the New Japan and NOAH based side clash even if it's years too late for it to become anything really good out of it. Hirasawa shows he's got a long way to go yet being the loser as always when Shiga rolled him up in a speciality cradle.

14:00 of 14:00 - Shiga pinned Hirasawa with a grounded Cobra Twist

3. Hirooki Goto & Prince Devitt & Ryusuke Taguchi -vs- Super Strong Machine & Pink Strong Machine & Tonga Strong Machine - (J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament - Round 2) [*]

--- Super Strong Machine teaming with two fresh Strong Machines. Tama Tonga and Yutaka Yoshie! And what a let down that Yoshie didn't play more a part in this as it became a very ordinary match with very few highlights. The closets was when Yoshie accidentally splashed Tonga which was pretty much the end of Tonga.....

9:59 of 9:57 - Taguchi pinned Tonga after the Dodon

4. Yujiro Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito & Dick Togo -vs- Giant Bernard & Karl Anderson & King Fale - (J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament - Round 2) [* 1/4]

--- The match was there....yeah, just there. Nothing bad. They just didn't get it to become too exciting. Fale did kick out of Yujiro's German Suplex, but once Yujiro landed a top rope legdrop it was over. Maybe it'd the Differ Ariake effect of low crowd response that kills the atmosphere.

14:41 of 14:43 - Takahashi pinned Fale after a top rope legdrop

5. Hiroshi Tanahashi & Tajiri & Kushida -vs- Riki Choshu & Akira & Taichi Ishikari - (J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament - Round 2) [* 1/4]

--- Got to love how Taichi thinks he's more then what he is. Ripping off his pants for a flashing moment and in the next fucks up a quebradora con giro taking away any light he tried to create for himself. The match was your average tag bout without creating too much fanfare until Tanahashi had Akira beat with a splash. After the match Iizuka attacked Tanahashi again leaving him nearly dying on the floor.

13:31 of 13:30 - Tanahashi pinned Akira after a top rope bodypress

6. Shinsuke Nakamura & Masato Tanaka & Tomohiro Ishii -vs- Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma & Austin Creed - (J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament - Round 2) [* 3/4]

--- Again ordinary stuff from the New Japan wrestlers. But what seperated this from the other matches was the end where Zero-One's Tanaka managed to beat the IWGP Heavyweight Champion!!! With a little help from Nakamura who Boma Ye'ed Makabe setting up thge Sliding D to give Tanaka the strong win.

15:23 of 15:22 - Tanaka pinned Makabe after a Sliding D

COMMENTS: More average wrestling from this special J Sports sponsored tournament.

NJPW on ESPN - June 30, 2010, Tokyo - (2 1/2 hrs)

June 30, 2010, Tokyo - Differ Ariake

1. Manabu Nakanishi & Koji Kanemoto & El Samurai -vs- Super Strong Machine & Pink Strong Machine & Tonga Strong Machine [*]

--- Pretty much awkward heavyweight fighting and not much more from the juniors. Funny watching Nakanishi do his thing, but it was hardly quality or high impact. And as expected the gorilla used his Argentine backbreaker to beat the lowest ranked guy in the bout.

10:56 of 10:55 - Nakanishi made Tonga submit to a Argentine backbreaker

2. Tamon Honda & Makoto Hashi & Kentaro Shiga -vs- Riki Choshu & Akira & Kyosuke Mikami [*]

--- The former NOAH employees picks up another win when Hashi MDII'ed the rookie nicely. The rest of the match however didn't offer much. A Choshu lariat, Honda suplex and that sort of thing done without much excitement.

9:32 of 9:31 - Hashi pinned Mikami after a Michinoku Driver II

3. Hirooki Goto & Prince Devitt & Ryusuke Taguchi -vs- Dick Togo & Yujiro Takahashi & Tetsuya Naito - (J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament - Semi-Final) [* 1/2]

--- First semi-final out of the way and Goto nailed Naito down with the Shouten to get the fall. The wrestling was ok, but they are not giving the J Sports viewers the best they can. Not even close. Yet, it was still fun watching No Limit and Apollo55 go at it.

10:23 of 10:23 - Goto pinned Naito after the Shouten

4. Hiroshi Tanahashi & Tajiri & Kushida -vs- Shinuske Nakamura & Masato Tanaka & Tomohiro Ishii - (J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament - Semi-Final) [* 1/2]

--- Not enough Tanahashi vs Nakamura. A little bit of the ECW'ers Tajiri vs Tanaka and a lot of Ishii it felt like. The weakest link and usually the one who has to carry the workload in such matches. But even he struggled a little bit working with Tanahashi almost losing his turnbuckle suplex when lifting up. But the two landed a few good blows before it was over with a Sling Blade and a crucifix roll-up from Tanahashi.

12:10 of 12:09 - Tanahashi pinned Ishii with a crucifix cradle

5. Yuji Nagata & Wataru Inoue & Mitsuhide Hirasawa -vs- Giant Bernard & Karl Anderson & King Fale [*]

--- The bland Inoue wins over a big guy with a spear. There wasn't too much happening here, but I did love the way the foreigners kept dropping one move after the other on a hopless Hirasawa who just couldn't get up.

11:11 of 11:11 - Inoue pinned Fale after a spear

6. Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma & Austin Creed -vs- Toru Yano & Takahsi Iizuka & Gedo [*]

--- Oh, how ordinary......

12:33 of 12:32 -Makabe pinned Gedo after a top rope kneedrop

201006300011-spnavi_2010063000014_view.jpg

7. Hirooki Goto & Prince Devitt & Ryusuke Taguchi -vs- Hiroshi Tanhashi & Tajiri & Kushida - (J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament - Final) [* 3/4]

--- Solid final, but this was like most of the tournament very average. Only a real good ending by Devitt and Kushida created the excitement a match like this should with Kushida surviving a few hard blows including a well-landing rop rope double-footstomp before it became a Bloody Sunday! Goto & Apollo55 win the tournament and Devitt keeps winning in 2010 after always being #2 in 2009.

13:59 of 13:59 - Devitt pinned Kushida after a Bloody Sunday DDT. Goto & Devitt & Taguchi win the J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament.

COMMENTS: Not enough focus to make this J Sports Crown Openweight 6-Man Tag Tournament anything special. It was just a workday for the wrestlers who did their things professinally, but gave absolutely nothing extra.

July 2, 2010, Tokyo - Korakuen Hall (1,800 fans)

New Generation Army vs Non-Partison Army vs Voodoo Murderers Singles Match Series:

20100703063.jpg

1. Big Daddy Voodoo -vs- Ryota Hama [**]

--- The big boys! Got to love these kinds of matches. Everythings looks ugly and spectacular at the same time. Very raw. On June 20th Hama took a top rope bodypress from Akebono. In this one he took one from Big Daddy Voodoo! Hama should be glad he has that airbag of a stomach to protect the impact a little. Didn't stop him from jobbing in another fat boys match.

6:58 of 7:10 - Big Daddy pinned Hama after a top rope bodypress

2. Lance Cade -vs- Taiyo Kea [* 1/2]

--- Cade getting the Stan Hansen push managing to fight off Kea's drops and instead kill him with lariats to win in little over 6 minutes! Impressive push for a man that would die before they could have any benifits of this booking.

6:26 of 6:26 - Cade pinned Kea after a lariat

3. Masayuki Kono -vs- Rene Dupree [* 1/4]

--- Had a few highlights with Kono nearly losing Dupree on a vertical suplex before impressively lifting him back up again to delvier the move was one of them. This was another to the point quick singles match with Kono landing his kneedrop from the top rope for the clean pinfall in less then 6 minutes.

5:51 of 5:51 - Kono pinned Dupree after a top rope kneedrop

20100703039.jpg

4. Minoru© & Hate & Toshizo -vs- Hiroshi Yamato© & Shuji Kondo & KAI - (Captain's Hair Match) [**]

--- On June 20th it was Hate who lost his hair. Here is another Captain's Hair Match which Yamato and Minoru's hairs on the line. And they got more drama into this one. Especially with all the twists and turns at the end mixed with the spectacular dives out of the ring from the babyfaces. Because Hate got his revenge beating Kondo. That doesn't mean Kondo loses his hair. No, poor Yamato was the sucker who got bald here. Good fun.

8:08 of 9:57 - Hate pinned Kondo with a small package

5. Masakatsu Funaki -vs- TARU [*]

--- TARU went almost shoot style against former Pancrase fighter Funaki, but of course he was put in his place in that style so he had to start doing the Voodoo Murders tactics instead with assistance from the other group members. Funaki was still pretty much in control and had TARU tapping to the cross heel hold except that the referee was down. And thats when Big Dabby Voodoo came in a splashed Funaki flat with the other Voodoo Murders continuing the assult before the referee stopped it and awarded Funaki the victory by DQ.

10:01 of 10:01 - Funaki defeated TARU by DQ

6. Minoru Suzuki -vs- Seiya Sanada [**]

--- Sanada opened with a bang and then probable regreted ever trying to disrespect Suzuki like that because from then on Sanada was trapped in one hold after the other looking totally helpless. Mostly sleepers! And it looked like Suzuki was going to get the win at any moment. There was one short moment of suspence when Sanada got in a Japanese leg roll clutch hold for a near fall. He tried it again later in the match, this time he was trapped in another sleeper and it was soon over after that with a Gotch.....

8:32 of 8:31 - Suzuki pinned Sanada after a Gotch-style piledriver

20100702048.jpg

7. Kohei Suwama -vs- Akebono [* 1/2]

--- Heavyweight slugging! Not pretty, but thet got some meaning into it in the end with Suwama moving out of the way for the top rope splash and then going to work on the leg locking it in a ankle hold to make the 64th Yokozuna tap.

7:27 of 7:27 - Suwama made Akebono submit to a ankle hold

20100702027.jpg

8. Kaz Hayashi © -vs- Taka Michinoku - (AJPW Junior Title) [** 1/2]

--- A lot of history here. Both started out in the Universal/Michinoku Pro connection in the early 90's. Both had careers in the US for WCW and WWE. Taka was the one to end Hayashi's first reign as junior champion in All Japan back in 2005. Then Taka had 12 successful defences before losing the belt to Kondo. Hayashi has 12 successful defences going into this match so he'll pass Taka on the record list which would leave him second only behind Masa Fuchi's 1989-93 run with 14 successful defences. And these two have faced each other countless of times and know each other so well, but at the same time it doesn't feel like they had anything fresh to offer. It's been a while since Taka was on fire and Hayashi's run as champion of late hasn't produced that many memorable defences. This one was good with the work over Taka's legs, the big Taka dive out over the railings and Taka locking in the Just Facelock and landing the MDII without making the cover. But Hayashi was as stubborn as ever and fought it all off lifting the Kaientai Dojo boss and panted him down with the Power Plant to make his V13.

22:01 of 22:02 - Hayashi pinned Michinoku after the Power Plant to retain the AJPW Junior Title in his 13th defence.

COMMENTS: Quite a enjoyable show with all the heavyweight stuff and junior heavyweight title match at the end.

WRESTLING NETWORK on COMM - July 3, 2010, Tokyo - (1 1/2 hrs)

July 3, 2010, Tokyo - Nishi-Chofu Combat Arena

1. Konome & Tsugeo Yoshie -vs- Ariya & Italian Greek [1/4*]

--- Oh, this is indy shit sleeze. A almost mongo version of Yoshie Yatsu, a couple of bitches and a generic indy wrestlers with a stupid name and style parodying modern wrestling. Strangely shit and with them loving being shit. And the crappy bimbo won it.

9:02 - Konome pinned Greek after a Shining Wizard

2. Naoshi Sano -vs- Konaka Pale One [1/2*]

--- Ai, it's freakin' loser Naoshi Sano and that zombie dude fighting..... better then expected....?

11:03 - Sano pinned Konaka after a brainbuster

3. Kazuhiro Tamura & Yuki Sato -vs- Kamui & Konaka Pale One [*]

--- At least some decent indy wrestling even if this wasn't a match with much flow. Only some highlights here and there and they leeped off the ropes and Tamura did his submission work leading to the win for yet another loss for the zombie man.

12:46 - Tamura made Konaka submit to a armbar

4. Ken Kataya -vs- Hirayo Koga [3/4*]

--- Never very interesting, but it had it's moments and the wrestling wasn't terrible.

10:37 - Kataya pinned Koga with a cradle reversal

5. The Winger & Yuji Kito -vs- Motosugu Shimizu & Yamada Man Pound [*]

--- Typical small-time indy action match going long. Some simple fun and pleasure, but very forgettable and unimportant stuff going on until a accidental smashed stop sign spot happend and Kito could nail Yamada with a lariat for the pin.

17:18 - Kito pinned Yamada after a lariat

COMMENTS: Really low-rent production.....

NEO on COMM - July 4, 2010, Osaka - (2 hrs)

July 4, 2010, Osaka Minami Move On Arena (228 fans)

1. Hiroyo Matsumoto -vs- Hanako Kobayashi [3/4*]

--- Competitive and very so-so executed. Neither really convinced, but at least Matsumoto won with the backdrop because Kobayashi doesn't have too much to offer.

9:25 of 9:25 - Matsumoto pinned Kobayashi after a backdrop suplex

2. Emi Sakura & Tanny Mouse -vs- Makoto & Sayaka Obihiro [1/2*]

--- Sakura trying to be Tanny's regular tag partner Miyazaki doing the saving and not really being that good at it. Otherwise Obihiro was humiliated and as always so was Makoto. The usual nonsense.

13:23 of 13:22 - Tanny pinned Obihiro with a reversed cradle

3. Kaoru Ito -vs- Aya Yuki [*]

--- It's not that many years ago Ito was one of the top workers around. Now she is out of shape and as round as a bowling ball and has trouble moving around carrying all that weight. It was facinating to watch that fat old gal could move around and still be able to execute all her old moves. Including the TOP ROPE DOUBLE-FOOSTOMP which she did here with nearly twice the weights as in her prime! Poor Yuki.....

14:51 of 14:51 - Ito pinned Yuki after a top rope double-footstomp

4. Kana -vs- Mai Ichii [1/2*]

--- This just didn't click. They tried the Battlarts kind of fighting, but Ichii kept missing and landing weak shots and Kana didn't seem to be in the mood to take the show as I guess this was Ichii's match to take the lead. Let's just say she didn't and the match sucked establishing nothing before Kana out of nowhere grabbed the leg for the quick tap.

11:59 of 11:59 - Kana made Ichii submit to a ankle hold

5. Black Buffalo -vs- Yuki Miyazaki [* 1/4]

--- Ha ha ha, they were streaching out and Buffalo got on Miyazaki's back and made her tap. Re-start of course. And Buffalo was a wonderful bully. Slow and calculated making sure Miyazaki hurt. You almost had to root for Miyazaki as he made her comebacks getting a few near falls on the Osaka Pro man. But it couldn't last as the man was truly the man here running the lady down with lariats to beat her second time over.

0:32 of 0:30 - Buffalo made Miyazaki submit to a backpress

9:35 of 9:35 - Buffalo pinned Miyazaki after a running lariat

6. Yoshiko Tamura & Ayumi Kurihara © -vs- Mio Shirai & Io Shirai - (NEO Tag Title) [* 3/4]

--- This was more relaxed and structured. A step in the right direction. But the execution was somewhat weak and lacked the hate needed for this to really work as they didn't really get much crowd response at the old Delfin Arena. Some cool moments though. Especially Io's moonsault to the outside! The champs seemed to have control which was a bit strange way to make this match, but watching Kurihara in there she worked nearly as a heel, way too confident. And I guess with Tamura as partner there wasn't much to worry about with the kawaii team as Tamura took care of Mio quite easy winning with the Patriot Bomb. Kana entered the ring after the match which sets up the next defence as they trade out that loser Mio so that Kana & Io will face the champs next time.

17:18 of 17:18 - Tamura pinned Mio after the Patriot Bomb. Tamura & Kurihara retain the NEO Tag Title in their 3rd defence.

COMMENTS: Not a ultimate show on their visit to Osaka. A couple of weak matches kind of hurt the atmosphere and ruined it for the main event which could have been one of the more memorable matches of the year had they wanted it to be.

OKINAWA PRO on SKY-A - July 4, 2010, Okinawa - (1 1/2 hrs)

July 4, 2010, Okinawa

1. Agu -vs- Kijimuna -vs- Guruken - (3-Way) [1/4*]

--- Typical Okinawa nonsense with the piggy winning.....

10:20 of 10:24 - Agu pinned Kijimuna after a double-arm facebuster

2. Super Delfin & Kaijin Habu Otoko & Mozoku Man -vs- Menso-re Oyaji & Eisa 8 & Yanbarukuinna [3/4*]

--- New character in Okinawa Pro. A girl under a terrible looking masked gimmick called Yanbarukuinna. And she looked suspisiously like someone from the Revolucion Amadola. He he, Kyoko Kimura. And in her Okinawa Pro debut she loses, but not after giving the boys a piece of her powers aswell. Well, she did lack a little power on that suplex she tried there, but otherwise mixed well with the guys until the snake guy took care of her.

15:31 of 15:36 - Otoko pinned Yanbarukuinna after a top rope bodypress

July 3, 2010, Okinawa

3. Shisaou -vs- Golden Pine - (Okinawa Pro Title Tournament - Semi-Final) [*]

--- The closests you'll get to a power fight in Okinawa Pro as the two biggest guys in the company fight it out for a place in the title final. And Pine looked better then usual, but naturally it was the wrestler formerly known as GAINA who lashed out the hard beating and won once landing enough impact blows.

6:21 of 17:04 - Shisaou pinned Pine after a lariat

4. Mil Mongoose -vs- Kaijin Habu Otoko - (Okinawa Pro Title Tournament - Semi-Final) [* 1/4]

--- More flying and fancy moves in this one and Mongoose was looking strong against the more established Otoko and eventually got the big win over him to go on to meet Shisaou in the final. Decent action.

6:24 of 15:24 - Mongoose pinned Otoko with the Speed Coaster

July 4, 2010, Okinawa

5. Shisaou -vs- Mil Mongoose - (Okinawa Pro Title Tournament - Final) [*]

--- Decent action again. Not as exciting as the previous tournament matches, but they did a lot of the same. The end looked awesome though as Shisaou powered Mongoose down super hard with a massive cross-arm powerbomb! Shisaou is the new Okinawa champ!

13:13 of 13:18 - Shisaou pinned Mongoose after a cross-arm powerbomb to become the Okinawa Pro Champion.

COMMENTS: Decent wrestling on this one, but of course there is limited how serious one can take these gimmicks as they wrestle in a serious style.
