  1. Anyway... as much as we all hate Samwell I thought that ending was really good, because it was creepy as hell.

Last night was the first time I became aware the fat kid was called Samwell and not just Sam. Rest of the episode was ruined as I just had

    going round my head.

Regarding the guy who chopped his mates heads off to impress Khaleesi - is he meant to be some super handsome lothario? He kept pouting and trying to look seductive which just didn't fit his Dean Gaffney a-like face.

  2. Someone remove this bullshitter please.

What did the little dingbat say? He's edited his post.

Based on him not understanding you get your stake back with a winning bet I suspected he was talking out of his arse.

  3. I don't know if it's been mentioned, but The Walking Dead: Episode 1 is free to download on XBox 360 at this moment in time. I don't know when the offer ends, so I'd act fast.

Oh man! I just bought that a few weeks back and have only played around 20 mins so far (it was great). This is like the time I bought Caddyshack on DVD. Purchased - Dinner - Home - TV on - "And coming up next Chevy Chase and Bill Murray in the classic comedy, Caddyshack".

Edit - came in here to talk about assassin's creed. Played number 2 recently, loved it, picked up Brotherhood, enjoyed it - is Revelations any good? Reviews seem a little tepid and I'm considering jumping straight into number 3 (similarly tepid reviews but at least it's a new setting). Any AC experts out there able to advise?

  4. So, absolutely my favourite thing right now on tv is Inspector Montalbano on BBC 4.It's a detective series set on Sicily, and it's fucking great. Every episode basically involves the laid-back hero investigating a murder whilst seducing one of a series of incredibly, incredibly beautiful Italian actresses. It's got great characters, good stories, it's got absolutely bags of charm, and each episode is an hour and a half so you sink right into it.Only slight drawback is that I appear to have missed the first 7 series :(

Spot on, I only wish Salvo would actually treat himself to one of the countless stunners that throw themselves at him. Gorgeous show in every way and very short seasons (2-4 episodes each) some of which you can grab on DVD now.
  5. ANyone who thinks Garcia got "lucky" against Khan oviously know nothing and should go back and study that fight, the pre-fight media quotes and Garcia's past fights. Khan can learn, and fight him again and maybe win, but that was no stroke of luck, Garcia knew what he was going for and it worked a treat.

Also the Gomez thing, NO ONE would have called that guy world class, even if they lost to him.

Who on here is saying that? Who are you trying to have this lucky argument/debate with? People have said Khan was caught, which he was, but I can't see anyone saying it was a lucky shot.

People wading into threads with premeditated responses to comments they've seen on the bottom of articles and/or facebook and/or anywhere but this forum seems to happen a lot. Probably doesn't but seems to (and now that I've posted this it's almost guaranteed that someone on here has said something that I've missed).

Edit - yup, just seen David refer to Garcia getting lucky in that fight! Bloody typical. (though he doesn't refer to it as a lucky shot... anyone who says I'm clutching at straws is lying).

  6. Tim Vine's first couple of DVD's are a great watch if you like one-liner's and childish humour.

Fans of one-liner's should also check out Mitch Hedberg. Died a few years back but has 3 comedy albums you can pick up (all good) and a load of TV appearances floating about the net. One of my personal favourites in style, delivery and intonation*. The fact he's hilarious helps too! Props also to Demetri Martin, Stephen Wright and Aziz Ansari.

  7. Not exactly pro-related but over the weekend I finished a game of 501 using 20 darts total and with a check-out of 65 (semi, double top). By far and away the best game I've ever had (and likely will have).

To all UKFF'ers who sling - what's your best/favourite check-out and have you hit that elusive 180*?

    * - I hate you Congratulations if yes. I've hit 140 a number of times but my speciality is 123. Damn I hate that score!

  8. Since when does repeating something that's already been posted warrant a suspension?

A link to the article was posted, people read it and vaguely referenced it. Nobody had picked up on the address being mentioned until Loki decided to highlight it. Not the worst thing in the world but also completely unnecessary - he was adding fuel to a fire that any reasonable person could see needed to be extinguished. If you're so cut up about this horrendous miscarriage of justice why not drop Neil a PM to air your grievances. No sense in having a third topic on this.

  9. I think we can all agree on Ecco the Dolphin being pretty boring though.

I don't think we can - Ecco is great fun. Or at least it was great fun when I originally played it back in the day though now it's just fun. ish.

The only good thing about Decap Attack Starring Chuck D Head is the name. It was the first game out of the Megadrive collection I played based entirely on this.

Flicky is brilliant fun, even the bonus levels are great.

Altered Beast not so much and I'm really struggling to see why anyone would play through it.

Gain Ground and Alien Storm are not games I would recommend to anyone though I find ESwat strangely fun despite its limitations. Not tried Dynamite Headdy yet but will be giving it a whirl based on the love in here.

This post has been formatted in loving memory of DJ Stevie C. RIP.

  10. Further to that where's Joe The Lion these days? Haven't seen him for a while. Or bAzTNM - haven't noticed him around for a few weeks. Hope mumzie's ok.

Bemused that ButchReedMark's "Wahay I'm a just a lad sinking jars and pounding fluff" gimmick won funniest poster this year. Occasionally amusing he's far more miss than hit. Though in fairness if there wasn't the Garrows crew backslapping the hell out of each other I'd probably find him far more tolerable.

  11. Les Miserables is nothing like what it used to be, same with Blood Brothers, Lion King, Grease and Phantom of the Opera, and there are loads of new, awful shows like Hairspray, Dirty Dancing, Sister Act, Legally Blonde, Priscilla and Mamma Mia.

Have you seen the original and current runs of all these shows? And have you seen all the newer shows? And if not, how can you make these judgements with such certainty? Genuine question.

  12. Dearest Comic Fans,

I have an overwhelming urge to spend my Saturday morning watching superhero cartoons and note there are a great deal to choose from. Can any kind soul recommend a good offering from Marvel or DC? Justice League, Bats, Spidey etc. Willing to give most anything a go but would prefer it to feature established characters (though not sure if they even do cartoons for the lesser characters?).

Anyone who says I'm particularly keen on something featuring Power Girl and her gravity defying chest is lying.

    Yours,

    MV.

  13. Trials HD on the 360. It's destroying my life as I'm utterly addicted to it. Unfortunately I think I've reached the end of this game now as the skill level required to get the final few silvers, golds and (majority of) platinum's is a little beyond me. Still, I'll persevere for another month or so just to make sure.

Also been playing a lot of Nazi Zombies on COD. The most recent downloadable level is great and many an hour has been spent busting undead ass with my juiced up wunderwaffe. I've also played this solo a bit recently - always after midnight while massively high and alone in my flat. Incredible fun and absolutely terrifying. There better be some undead terrorists waiting for me in MW2.
