Best moment -- Grado "wins" the ICW title; Jericho's troll return.
Â
Biggest anticlimax -- Everything Jericho did afterwards.
Â
Funniest moment -- Paul Bearer dies for the 978,309,554th time; Sheamus pins Daniel Bryan in eight seconds; the Dolan sign on Smackdown.
Â
Best bang for your buck -- Jesse.
Â
Best non-wrestler -- Joseph Parks; Paul Heyman; Ricardo Rodriguez.
Â
GTFO -- Alboreto; Tensai; TNA's musical department.
-
Wrestler of the year -- Grado.
Â
Worst wrestler -- Tensai
Â
Best face -- Grado
Â
Best heel -- Brock Lesnar
Â
Best tag team -- Daniels and Kazarian
Â
Best performance --
Everyone involved in Grado vs. Red Lightning at Super Smokin' Thunderbowl. Within a few minutes, this had me emotionally invested more than anything wrestling-related in years.
Â
Best feud -- Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena
Not a good year for dualism, but there's been a number of isolated angles that've sustained my interest. "Best feud/angle" might be worth consideration when compiling next year's awards, perhaps?
Â
Match of the year -- Ryback and Team Hell No vs. The Shield (WWE TLC)
In a year full of excellent matches but no clear stand-out, this was a last-minute epiphany. Packed to the brim with fun ideas, with all six men on career form.

The boarding bits on Megaman are annoying, but they only take up 2 parts of the entire game and last about 30 seconds. I could do without them but they don't ruin the game for me.
Â
Except the second is dumped right at the start of the first Wily stage, meaning one has to replay it, like, three hundred times by default. No thanks.
Â
The ruined spin dash is the main problem in the game for me as Sonic games are known for the spin dash and the ability it gives you to get to places. It'd be like if they made a Mario game where he couldn't jump properly.Â
... assuming you're not a fan of Sonic 1, then?
Â
I'd say a lot of people could nameÂ
Â
over
Â
Â
That'd be since around five people owned a Mega CD.
-
What? I'd take Mega Man 8 over Sonic CD any day.
Â
JUMP JUMP
Â
SLIDE SLIDE
Â
I honestly don't get the love Sonic CD gets, it's a dull, badly controlled, mess of a game.Â
It's perfectly ergonomic, accommodating well the shift in emphasis from speed to navigation. The spin-dash is gimped, granted, but it's worth taking into consideration the game entered development before Sonic 2. Besides, the super peel-out, with its greater efficiency and flexibility, more than compensates.
Â
It has rubbish boss fights,Â
And Sonic 1 and 2's bosses are the stuff of legend, yeah?
Â
a time travel system that just turns stuff brownÂ
Â
Â
Â
Â
No.
Â
and instantly forgettable levels and music.Â
Sucks to be you, then. CD's soundtrack is often ranked amongst the best in gaming history. Unless you're saddled with the US version, of course.

Sonic CD
Â
What a poor game, and a bitterly disappointing Sonic game
Â
Only one game for this so far. The pretty awesome Megaman 8.Â
Love this game. It's my favourite behind Megaman 2.

I thought No Mercy was the best PPV of 2002 and is one of my favourite ever PPV's though I doubt someone will agree with me there.
Â
No I'd agree with that. Two of the best tag matches of the decade (Sexy Beasts/BookDust may even be the most underrated PPV match of the decade) and my favourite ever Hell in the Cell, plus a decent Cruiser match. I thought it was one of the better B-Shows they've done since 2000-01 (when everything seemed to click). Shame about Hunter/Kane though.
Â
Heh, thought I was alone in that regard. Best in a fantastic string of PPVs at the time.
Â
From the choices available, I opted for SummerSlam 2000. X-Seven may be regarded as the "official" Attitude-era curtain call, but 'Slam 2000 to me is more significant, marking the end of a four-year hot streak in quality. Oh, and an excellent show to boot -- there was Angle/HHH/Rock, which easily ranks amongst the most underrated PPV main events, fuelled by what was at that point one of the hottest storylines ever; as well as the birth of the TLC match; the first of many ridiculous Shane McMahon stunts; the surprisingly decent Lawler/Tazz; tremendous backstage segments and overall storyline progression... awesome, awesome, awesome. The only downside I can think of'd be the Benoit/Jericho two-of-three, which couldn't hold a candle to their previous encounters, but even that was still pretty damn good on its own merits.
Â
If Vengeance 2005 made the cut, I'd have voted for that.
-
I'm assuming most vote for WrestleMania by default, then?
-
C'mon, Austin/Rock!
-
Surprised Batista's face turn didn't make the cut. Most phenomenal crowd reaction to any WWE development in years.
Â
As it stands, Edge's first "cash-in", which restored my faith in the WWE product for approximately 24 hours; whereas the alternative I considered - formation of the ECW/WCW alliance - only succeeded for around two minutes.
-
Vote Nash, etc.
-
Can't choose between the two Cena/Orton bouts...
-
HHH/Steiner. At least Goldberg/Lesnar had a surreal atmosphere going for it.
Â
Sprules/Tyler shouldn't be here on account of the greatest commentary in industry history.
-
Edge and Christian, though I'd have thrown in Kurt Angle for good measure. "Team ECK" represent the apex of wrestling-related comedy.
Â
Disappointed Booker T. and Goldust didn't make the cut, mind.
-
Brock/Eddie > a shitload of finishers.
-
I'd opt for Cena/Orton, but "too much of a good thing" syndrome let the team down.
Â
As it stands, Jericho/Mysterio.
-
Consider the... *checks*... May 21st, 2007 Raw added to my nominations. The one with around fifty consecutive Lashley matches. Because if a single wrestling broadcast was to ever push me to suicide, that would most definitely have been it.

John Cena, for demonstrating his 2007 was no fluke with an equally strong timespan. Absolutely stellar outings opposite Edge and Orton, and made the best of bad situations with TBS, Miz and Sheamus.
Â
Randy Orton, for persevering the most asinine, arse-backwards booking in years and cementing his status as the industry's premier heel.
Â
Rey Mysterio, for having the most surprisingly decent year of anyone since... well, ever.
-
Booker T. vs. Buff Bagwell -- WWF Raw (July 2001).
Â
Diamond Dallas Page vs. Sara Callaway -- WWF Raw (August 2001).
Â
Triple H. vs. The Undertaker -- WWE King of the Ring 2002.
Â
Scott Steiner vs. Triple H. -- WWE Royal Rumble 2003.
Â
The Big Show vs. Kane -- WWE Backlash 2006.
Â
I'd nominate Sprules/Tyler, but the commentary dub redeems it spectacularly.
