quite possibly the album of the year. Misery Index are one of the few bands that literally made my jaw hit the floor when i saw them live. The band don't really do anything original, but they definately have their own sound, it's heavy as fuck thrashy version of grindcore (Napalm Death fans should love em). They also have perfected the art of being stupidly heavy yet remaining very catchy, great tunes. They also have one the most underrated/fastest drummers in metal. Their last album Traitors was good, but this thing crushes it. Get it!

Totally Agree!! This Album is killer. The solos are nailed so well. everyone should own this album!!

  2. Been Listening to these lately

Still Waiting for my copy of Kalmah new album 12 gauges. I think both metal hammer and Terrorizer got it right "unknown underground band for fans of Children Of Bodom and Amon Amarth"

For Today as just your normal deathcore band but i love this album. I really wish we weren't off for easter at work. a guy at my work when i told him about christain deathcore he said "there is no such thing no true christain would play that sort of crap" ok telling him a band called impending doom are christain was stupid he was never going to believe that but i wish i could show him this album as it has quotes from the bible and ever song is named after somebody in the bible

    1.Immanuel (The Challenger)

    2. Saul of Tarsus (The Messenger)

    3. Nicodemus (The Seeker)

    4. Joel (The Watchman)

    5. Immanuel (The Redeemer)

    6. Elijah (The Forerunner)

    7. Benedictus (Song of Zechariah)

    8. Ezekiel (The Visionary)

    9. Isaiah (The Willing)

    10. Talmidim (The Servants)

to be hontest the guy is doing my head in. its a good job i only see him only a week. he hates everything i m into and gives me a speaking to about what god would think. he told me on monday "god wouldn't like wrestling. man trying to hurt each other, cutting them selfs and using the world "Hell" and did they try and burn somebody once?"

my reply is always "you only live once live life your way" but he even has a comeback for that telling me "is that what you'll tell god when you meet him?"

i ve never had a problem with peoples religion but this guy is so in your face

  3. BLOODBATH%20-%20Fathomless%20Cd.jpg

    Fucking Yes!

so glad these guys got announced for Bloodstock, because i aint heard em before that (which is a abit embarrasing considering im a bit of an Opeth fan - this is the singers side project). Basically a place for the 'supergroup' to just bash through some straight forward death metal. This fucking crushes! i'm a bit picky with my death metal, i like mine to kind of mix traditional death metal with some added groove and nice headbanging moments if you get what i mean...anyway's this fucking has em in a plenty and i fucking love it.

Best metal album ive heard in ages.

Bloodbath are awesome I love that album. I also liked the 4 song ep they brought out just before it

    Unblessing The Purity

Went to see Machine Head,Hatebreed,Bleeding Through and Man Must Die (who replaced all shall perish).

missed man must die becasue we didn't wanna stand out in the rain to long so we got there dead on 7 (when doors up) but we still had to spend 20mins making are way through the que. so when we got in at 7:20 the band where just leaving the stage (little bit pissed off casue i like the band alot and missed them last week in london casue my mate who had tixs had to work)

    Bleeding Through I didn't like

Hatebreed I though I wouldn't like. heard a couple of songs but was convinced but I have to admit they are damn good live. not much talking to the crowd just straight to the metal

Machine Head where fucking amazing. the 3rd time i ve seen them at brixton and everytime I love'em. they may not be my favourtive band but i'd easier watch them play all down over Bodom

On the Sepultura front. a club in my area. Sub89 has them playing

  4. So i've listened to Master of Puppets. And i really wasn't that impressed, it's ok i guess. It's the vocals that i don't like and it puts me off nearly any Metallica song.

As for Slayer, love them. Yeah alot of there stuff is the same but it's great. I like all their albums.

I'd recommend Beneath the Remains by Sepultura if you prefer Slayer to Metallica, you may like the two previous albums by them but the production is a lot less and they have more of a death metal sound.

I own Beneath the Remains, and as you mentioned it, realised i haven't listened to it in ages. And after listening to it today, i should listen to it alot more reguarly. Awesome album!

I have quite a few friends into metal but we all seem to have pretty different tastes. Theres still plenty of bands/songs we can agree on that we can listen to when at someones house.

yeh, im somone who got into Sepultura through Chaos A.D. & Roots, now ive firmly changed my stance and prefer their thrash orientated stuff. I think i prefer Arise to Beneath The Remains, but it's a toss up. Desperate Cry is one of the best thrash songs ever imo.

I've been listening to the Derreck Greene era stuff recently. The band have pretty much carved out their own niche now. Most fans can't see past the fact that Max isn't in there anymore. I think it's more a case of, you have to look at it as a new band. They lost their chief songwriter and vocalist, so the new stuff is a little different. They keep some of the Sepultura elements in place, but there's definatly a new twist on the sound.

    I've been listening to Roorback...

    17867.jpg

it's a pretty good album. There's no denying though that the best tunes on this are the ones where they just let off the shackles and pick the speed up. The Rift is a fucking tune, get it.

I'm gonna go see the band in May, first time since '96! i'm looking forward to it.

have you got the 2 disc version? the 2nd disc has a brilliant exodus cover track

  5. So i've listened to Master of Puppets. And i really wasn't that impressed, it's ok i guess.

It's at this point that you leave the thread, and never return.

what happened to the "lets not fight over what is and what isn't metal" I don't like master of puppets, to be honest i don't like metallica at all. I would never pay to see them and only have the "black" Album in my collection (and I have no idea where it is).

    I'd rather listen to bands like Cannibal Corpse,Dimmu Borgir,Children Of Bodom,Insomnium,Behemoth,Unearth,Legion Of The Damned,Obituary,Misery Index,Parkway Drive,Bloodbath,Machine Head,Rotting Christ,Vader,The Haunted,Chimaira,In Flames the list goes on

I don't own a Iron Maiden or Megadeth album.

I know a few people on the Bloodstock and hellfest forums who don't have a single metallica, maiden, megadeth or slayer album. I wouldn't say they wheren't into metal.

Just because it seems like every "metalhead" love the mainstream stuff (maiden, metallica, slayer, trivium, bullet for my valentine, etc) there is about 25% of "metalheads" who don't wanna listen to the mainstream stuff

I think it would be hard to find a Metalhead who listens to the rubbish BFMV or Trivium puts out ;)

I use to go to a club called the fez In Reading on monday nights for their Rock night. we use to be the 1st one's in most of the time and the DJ sort of knew us and played more heavier stuff (we found out later he only had headbangers ball vol 2 the cd) machine head, unearth, cradle of filth and chimaira. once the club was full he wouldn't play any metal apart from Trivium. I ve never seen some many people run up to the stage and start headbanging to "pull harder on the strings of martyr". all these people have trivium or bullet or maybe madien shirts on brought from the local HMV. made me and my mates look stupid wear chimaria, devildriver, suicide silence,Emmure, behemoth, etc shirts on.

I don't go to the fez which is now called something else as I know the DJ still plays the same set every monday. my mate still goes and keeps telling me "i haven't been out for a monday for ages" even though on his facebook there are pictures of him in the club with dates on them. i don't care if he wants to listen to the same stuff every monday

do you guys have friends who listen to metal?

I have 2 friends who do but i swear one of them is going cold turkey on metal. he wears emmure, suicide silence,Parkway drive, etc t-shirts but when we go down to a club that has one room with sing a long stuff/mainstream (disturbed, drowning pool, metallica, etc) and another room that plays more heavier stuff (suicide silence, cannibal corpse, emperor, etc). I make a move for the hardcore room but end up sitting there on my own and thats not what i go to a club for.

  6. So i've listened to Master of Puppets. And i really wasn't that impressed, it's ok i guess.

  7. Controversial opinion alert! Does anyone else reckon that Slayer are completely shit ?

    :omg:

Slayer fucking rule. If you take the big 4 of thrash and i put em in order of how i like em, it goes:

    Slayer

    Anthrax

    Metallica

    Megadeth

    so fuck y'all Slayer haters!!

i'm weird in that i got into the big 4 and weird times. I was a metal fan long before i became a Slayer & Anthrax fan (if you find that hard to believe). Before the internet it was easy to just skim over bands, and the big 4 were the ones i skimmed (except for perhaps Metallica, but everyone had heard The Black Album).

Megadeth are a band ive never really gotten into. I know i should give them a little more time, because i dont find them as instantly appealing as Slayer. I will download Rust In Peace though and give it my full attention.

Favorite Slayer albums people??? Reign In Blood is the popular choice, but for me it's Seasons In The Abyss & Christ Illusion. This kinda changes from month to month, but im sticking with them at the moment. Heck, i even love the Slayer albums your meant to hate (Diabolus In Musica, Divine Intervention).

    SLAYER!!!

Atleast someone elsw who likes Christ Illusion. must people just say "its ok" or "nah the new slayer stuff is shit". I fucking the album. whats the new slayer album like? i m not the biggest slayer fan i only have region in blood,2 disc live album,Divine Intervention and Christ Illusion.

can i add dittohead is a class song on Divine Intervention

  8. been having a death metal day today ready for Decapitated on monday here the list i ve what i went through

Malevolent Creation-The Best Of (a collection by roadrunner)

    Decapitated-Nihility

    Disposable Heroes

    Maiden:

    Recorded:

    The Trooper

    Powerslave

    Aces High

    2 Minutes to Midnight

    Sunlight on Steel

    Running Free

However there are some tracks that you need to experience live if you want to appreciate them fully. Foremost are Fear of the Dark and Hallowed be Thy Name.

    Anyway...

At the moment I'm listening to a lot of Deicide. Bastard of Christ, Father Baker's, Bible Basher, Scars of the Crucifix and The Gift that Keeps on Giving are on heavy rotation.

I'm also enjoying a lot of Sabbat and Skyclad at the moment. Really enjoy the depth of some of the lyrics.

Melechesh are fucking awesome. They tend to be labelled as black metal, but they're not really. They have that raspy vocal style, but there the similarity ends. Catchy death metal heavily influenced by Middle Eastern music - much more so than Nile.

Never heard of Melechesh but though i'd give them a go. have to say i m really enjoying them.

Have been watching Party San best of dvd which i got off ebay some really good stuff from Grave,Malevolent Creation,Vader and Bolt Thrower.

just seen that vader are touring the uk. anyone heard the new album? the one with an all new line up?

  10. just got the new metal hammer through my door. has Him on the front.

    nothing amazing in this mouths.

I reckon Rob Zombie and Airbourne will be at download this year. if a band appears in metal hammer 3 or 4 times (this time of year when they are nameing bands) then they are at download.

would be awesome if rob zombie was there. not that i'm going but i do like his new album after the last one its a lot better. just got halloween 2 today so i m going to watch it later. I actually like his movies. house of 1000 corpse was really good up to the bit with dr satan at the end, devils rejects was better and Halloween 1 wasn't that bad. I enjoyed seeing micheal as a child

  11. 5FDP's 1st album i didn't like to much but the new one is awesome. I reckon it will be the third album that will make or break them. they where good live on the lamb of god, dimmu borgir and unearth show i saw them at.

Pantera cd was ok. enjoyed Unearh,Machine Head and Chimaira where good.

anyone else not got into the new/latest chimaira album? the infection? I love The impossility of reason and the self title album/Resurrection where good albums but the latest one i was always waiting for the songs to kick in.

Not really the best of the best black metal line up but a damn good one Ov Hell will be the next album i buy. have a listen to the song on their myspace.

    the line up is:

    Vocals-Shagrath(Dimmu Borgir)

    Bass-King(Gorgoroth)

    Guitar-Ice Dale (Enslaved)

    Guitar-Teloch(God Seed)

    Drums-Frost(1349 and Satyricon)

  12. been listening to way to much Behemoth. their albums seem to get better and better. I am praying for a new dvd. I love live dvds with backstage stuff, its just cool seeing bands fuck about.

going to see man must die,Kataklysm and Decapitated (although its a whole new band apart from Vogg on guitars) on monday in lodon. i m really looking forward to it. never seen any of the bands before. not heard much from Kataklysm, have a few decapitated albums and have both man must die albums. I saw a youtube video of decapitated before in birmingham they sounded awesome should be a good gig.

doesn't seem to be many good gigs coming up. I only have the above gig and Machine Head,Hatebreed,Bleeding Through and Man Must Die (All Shall Perish have pulled out) Gig

alot of people seem to think metal isn't for christains. well check these guys out. they even played a gig at a church

    Impending Doom

  13. Out of interest, a few people on here said they were reading The Dark Tower series and was wondering if they had all given up or stuck with it?

I've tried to stick with it, but I'm stuck on book five - I can't find a copy anywhere, for love nor money. I can't find any later volumes either - it's almost as if they've withdrawn the series from the shelves. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    have you tried looking online?

  14. I think you show a lot of potential, keep writing and improving. You'll get there.

thanks. it's nice to know someone out there likes it.

i don't want to be a writer i just do it as a hobby. i know its pretty shit by my mates and family like it

as for the big chicken. all i can say is that comes from my nan who always says "I ve done you a big Chicken". my mate still says it when she cooks for her kids

  15. Out of interest, a few people on here said they were reading The Dark Tower series and was wondering if they had all given up or stuck with it?

i ve started. got to the bit where the gunslinger meets the oracle. i ve never been albe to get into series of book i like reading just one and thats it finished. i ve never read stephen king book (seen all the movies). i am reading a stephen king book at the moment called cell

  16. my 1st short story didn't do to well. (it was called End Of The Line)

my new one called Death Waits For No Man Part 1 (its in 3 parts) isn't doing too badly has a +2 rateing on papertank (end of the line got -20 but more people did view it)

someone (i guess on drugs) has given it 4 and half stars out of 5 on another site.

i ve let or my friends and family see it and they like it. one work mate asked me to sign a copy (think she was on drugs too). now i want to see what you guys think of it

4 and half stars from one person

    +2 rateing

    my offical blog site

  17. All Chinese people look the same?

not all of them. but watch The Host. the lead is a guy with blonde bits in his hair. At the end their is two people eatting after all the horror. I couldn't make out who the 2nd guy was and why he was there so i looked it on this morning and its the lead but without the blonde bits

  18. I got the twist in 2 almost straight away

bullshit!! more than likely you read an article intitled "Saw 2 Spoiler" then tell everyone "I Saw that Coming".

whoop de fucking do i can see that Reading FC are going down another league but i Won't be telling people "I saw that coming" I ll be saying "its only Reading FC lets talk about a real club Blackpool"

Do all your posts lose sense of meaning near the end like that?

    Also was the pun intentional?

Either way, you're a mong and should go kill yourself like you hinted at a while back.

    Unbelievably harsh.

    cloo.jpg

"Well, that's just a matter of opinion. And I don't give a shit about yours."

I m a mong? thanks for that I ll add it to my list of names I've been called in my life. Trust me its not the worst

Count yourself lucky you've never suffered depression. never had suicide thoughts

anyway back to dvds i ve watched

The Host-Not really into subtitled flims but I really enjoyed this. Wasn't to hard to follow. Got a bit confussed with the ending as all chinese people look the same and without his blonde bits in his hair the lead person looked like someone else

  19. I got the twist in 2 almost straight away

bullshit!! more than likely you read an article intitled "Saw 2 Spoiler" then tell everyone "I Saw that Coming".

  20. Wrong Turn 3 Left For Dead-I loved the 1st flim and 2nd was pretty good. hadn't read anything about this but though hey i ll give it a go turns out wrong turn 3 is really good. its never going to win an award but as a series of movies wrong turn hasn't gone down hill just yet. the story starts with the normal group of kids out on canoue's(sp?) (small boats) when they stop to find a camp grown they are picked off by the mutant in the woods with his cross bow (staright through the boobs of the hot girl goes one of the arrows). only one girl gets away. flim then goes to a prison where they are getting ready to move a prisoner. you can guess the rest. the prisoners/cops get attacked by the mutant with his barbed wire/their bus crashes. they all get picked off one by one in the wood as they try to look for help. the gore is still there, in one death one of the prisoners steps into a ring of barbed wire where it springs up onto a hook which is conexted to the van the mutant drives. he than drives the prisoner who is cut to pieces along the road and lowers the hook as they go so eventally he gets dragged on the road.

it gets in the 1st movie as the prisoners and cops try to find the ranger station in the middle of the woods as its up high in the tree's but they find it burnt to the grow (which happened when it was set on fire in wrong turn 1)

it ends leaving it open for a wrong turn 4 as they think the mutant is dead but at the end you seel someone holding a sort of weapon and attacks the only prisoner left (i don't think its the mutant though casue he looked pretty dead in the next to last scene)

The Hangover-Awesome comedy movie. it got a little boring towards the end but some of the small jokes where wicked. the bit where they had the little baby pretanting to jack off was funny as was the bit when the naked japanese man attacks them and you hear the comment "hey i m with you i hate godzilla to" classic. according to some websites there is going to be a 2nd
