  1. Masters bets for next few days:

    Cameron Smith @ 45/1

    Corey Connors @ 80/1

    Matt Wallace @ 125/1

    Dylan Fritelli @ 150/1

Eleven places each way at Skybet for Wallace and Fritelli and slightly bigger stakes on Smith & Connors at Bet365.

  2. Very sad news.

The attitude era still just seems like 'a few years ago' in the same way high school does to me when, infact, the reality is it's now 20 years ago 😞

I guess father time catches up with us all......That's Fink a few months ago, now Pat Patterson and, without being too morbid, Vince himself looked ghastly at Survivor Series.

Loved the skits with the Stooges in particular; for some reason the most quirky/random memory of mine was his inability to pronounce the 'Helmsley' part correctly whenever he referred to HHH by his full name !!

And of course those not so subtle double entendre's and digs that JR always seemed to slip in when he was doing the stuff with Briscoe in 1998/99.

  3. 3/4 quarter swing and use a hybrid club off every tee.

Never hit anything lower than a 7-iron off the deck.

That should at least get the ball in the air and keep it respectable if you are a complete newbie.

  4. As above, looking for a wee bit of help.

Possibly going back too far for some of the newer members but the original bastard of the UKFF and someone who was trolling before i even knew it to be an actual term 🙂

Dan and I were quite pally through here off and on over the yesrs, and,  by virtue of a hell of a set of pretty surreal coincidences / circumstances actually ended up working together for a summer in Florida many moons ago.

Not seen him in person in 15 years now (although we did keep in contact through internet and phone since) and in between various house moves, kids coming along etc on my part i've misplaced any and all details i had for him and lost touch completely.

Not even sure if he posts anywhere else or even still has much of an interest in wrestling but if anyone of the old crew on here happened to know him and/or could pass on contact details it would be greatly appreciated.

  5. Have to say these have been really good. Pretty balanced and objective too which i didn't think they would be.

Going slightly off on a tangent, how does it work for the documentary makes using archived WWE footage? Is it as simple as once they pay the fee(s) to use licensed material they can just fit it around their own narrative? Wouldn't have thought they would allow any of their official stock footage to be used on stuff like this, particularly the stuff that was a bit more 'nudge nudge, wink wink' like the Snuka and Moolah episodes.

Favourite episode for me woul be the Brawl For All purely because i missed it at time it originally aired and was always very curious especially with all the urban myths that go with it. Dino Bravo one was also very interesting as for some reason, despite reading (and assuming) i'd read all the dirt, rumours and internet gossip over the years i can honestly say hand on heart i had never heard the theory or background story they he died in an alleged mafia hit.

  6. On subject of Brawl 4 All, i remember reading an interview with Vinny Pazienza (referee for Butterbean match at WM 15). He said, as a boxer himself, that he was sure it was going to be a worked shoot despite it being drummed into him constantly by Vince, Pat Patterosn etc in the build up that it was 100% legitimate yet he still couldn't get away from the "wrestling is fake" mindset.

In normal circumstances he said he would have called it off after the first knockdown but decided to let Bart continue.as he thought it would go down like a lead balloon backstage with the show piece match done and dusted inside 15 seconds.......ouch!

They've crept up again price wise i've noticed since Christmas time.

Added to that, even getting a standalone console and getting games individually isn't much of a saving as the 2nd hand market for Switch games is mad; they hold their value something crazy.

Well, a week on for this, bloody hell.......

Don't know if they've stopped production or the supply chain has just hit few ripples due to corona virus but they appear to be sold out pretty  much everywhere and not much evidence when they expect to have more stock coming in.

As a result the 2nd hand market has went into silly season. Pal at work tested the waters and manged to shift his console (original box, 3rd party case and four half decent games) for £535 😮😮

Thought he was pulling my leg but from having a browse through Ebay he definitely wasn't. If you've got one sitting about not getting much use out of it then now could be the time to cash in.

Anyone played COD: Warzone? I've not played a Call of Duty game since the original Modern Warfare but saw Warzone was free-to-play and thought I'd give it a go.

I'm shit. Every other player just seems faster, has better aim and knows what they're doing whereas I'm running around like a headless chicken getting sniped everytime I pop my head out a door.

The best I've done is come 27th and that was only because I nicked a jeep and sped off everytime there was a bit of trouble.

Yes mate. You are not alone with thinkingoke that. It's a wee bit skewed in that whilst it is indeed free (which is great) the people who have had the full game since late 2019 carry over all their XP and perks etc.

Whilst it doesn't really affect the initial drop and loots - same basic guns for everyone - it is a big disadvantage when the load out drops come and these guys are pulling out the equivalent of the gun OJ Simpson has in Naked Gun 2 due to them levelling up and unlocking them from thebase game.......sniper rifles with crazy scopes and assault rifles with thermal vision etc etc whilst you are left with the equivalent of a water pistol by comparison 👀

You really need three guys on a team all on the same wave length whobare co-operating and, ideally, all mic'd up communicating via headset.

One really good bit of advice i've had and been using is to put a marker down to land awaaaaaay on the outskirts onto one of the yellow magnifying glass icons and do that contract; it'll make you pick up 3 or 4 boxes in relative close proximity which gets you off on a decent footing with some half decent weapons and (usually) quiet enough to fins your feet and get your bearings without landing immediately into a total cluster fuck and being killed within 30 seconds. You can then gradually plot your way back into the middle circles as the game goes on, slow & steady. Had three wins so far using this method.

I'm not particularly good but always looking for folk to play alongside, used to play a regular 4ball on blackout with a bunch of pals but since it's now teams of three i'm always the last one to come online and they are already away in a game 🙄

Alright hive mind.   I want to buy a Switch, Mario Kart and Zelda.

Having trouble, understandably, finding somewhere with stock that’s not way too expensive.

  10. Was thinking over the last few days, with the current situation and everything, and further more with tonight's new from the PM of floating an idea for some sort of UKFF game swop shop style thing?

Everyone could put up a list of the games they have on their respective format and if you see something you fancy from their list and vice-versa you could request a trade.

Obviously would rely on a fair bit of goodwill and honesty but it think it would work quite well; you could put a post on from each person acknowledging when they had received the game at their side so it was kept transparent and somewhat audited just incase there were any bad apples.

    Thoughts?

  11. Good stuff on here.

Although she works as a lecturer now the missus is a primary teacher to trade with specialism in additional support needs. I'm in awe of her the way she has been with our two (5 + 6) so Primary 1 and Primary 2 level.

If anyone is looking for anything specifically i'm sure she'd be happy to share, feel free to PM me.

One particularly nifty thing she put together was a tuck shop. They each get a 'virtual' £1 a day and once it'd gone it's gone; crisps and chocolate are 50p for example, fruit 20p, haribo 30p, diluting juice 10p and water is free etc etc. Really good for a wee bit of self discipline and stops the "mummy i'm hungry!" every fifteen minutes.

  12. Excellent interview from IFL that Kugan put up a few days ago with John McDermott covering all things Fury and, of course, that controversial first fight when the vast majority of people felt McDermott was robbed of a win.

McDermott looks younger now than he did when he was boxing! Comes across really well in my opinion; decent humble bloke and maybe if he was 5+ years down the line and around in this time period he could have made some serious £££ as he was a very decent fighter.

Interestingly enough, i did some reading up on the first match and one thing i never knew - just to fuel the conspiracy theories - is that Terry O' Connor (who refereed the first fight) was apparently knocked out during his own boxing career many moons ago by none other than McDermott's old man.

Had to do a double take skimming through youtube as i thought it was Mark 'Beast' Labbatt from the Chase at first..

  13. Had this on an old hard drive which i found a few months ago so decided to upload it. Don't know the proper term for it as it's not a televised event but not a bog standard house show either, some where in the middle as it's got the usual TV production feel to it and full commentary.

Warrior is champ so based on that i'd loosely date it somewhere between mid-1990 to very early 1991.

I had the Fox feed, they would cut a 2 person panel now and then and it was Abdo & Mark Kriegel

Crystina Poncher was her name apparently - typical a daft americaniZZZZZed spelling threw  me but go there eventually. Apparently she's with Top Rank / ESPN; i must have had some syndicated foreign market feed with English commentary as i swear it was plastered with FOX logos all over the place. Anyways, she was still dire.

  15. When i had norovirus last year i literally sat with one of the kids plastic mini ikea chairs in the shower cubicle in our ensuite whilst the matching seat was positioned a few feet away with their ipad on it for entertainment.

Saved my hole from looking like a shetland pony blowing it's soup cold (from constant wiping) and an added bonus of being in 'solitary lockdown' living in the bathroom for a day was, miraculously, that my wife and both kids managed to dodge it which if you've had said bug before (especially with a young family in the house) is pretty much unheard of.

The woman in the booth was Katie Abdo, she's a Brit, used to be on Sky Sports News.

ringside view of the 3rd round knockdown ^

Nah it wasn't Katie, Egg. Defo someone else.

The three person team was a dream, lead commentator then Merchant blethering utter shite and then Foreman and more latterly Roy Jones as the expert ex-pro chiming in with their few cents (usually telling Merchant to stob blethering shite lol).

I'll download and watch the FOX version again later and try catch her name.

  17. I'd be surprised if he took the rematch.

The clause is in pretty much every big match contract. If there has been an injustice in scoring or refereeing (Holyfield v Lewis , Froch v Groves) it's logical conclusion but not so much of the guy has taking a comprehensive beating. I remember Naseem banging on about a rematch clause after the Barrera pasting when, in reality, he didn't want to go anywhere near him again.

Wilder certainly won the entrance ring gear battle.

Was somewhere between Shockmaster and Dynamo from The Running Man.

On another note - i watched the American broadcast - i don't think i'll ever fully appreciate how good we had it growing up with the HBO broadcasts.

FOX had a two person setup on commentatory and the female in the booth was asbolutely attrocious. No if she's a boxer herself but it was a million miles from the like of Jim Lampley, Harold Leterman and Big George.....even Larry Merchant was better to listen to than that.

  19. Shit load of money has went onto Wilder in the last 2-3 weeks at the bookies. Fury was as short as 8/13 around Christmas time and it's drifted out to just over even money in some bookies now. Quite a shift.

Really looking forward to it though, biggest HW fight since Lewis v Tyson for me and i've not had this kind of nervous excitement ahead of an event since the Lennox Lewis / WWF PPV heydays of the late 90's & early 00's.

Fancied Fury on points since it was announced but for some reason over the last two weeks i now think he's going to get knocked out. Hope i am wrong.
