  1. I remember Fludder once saying he keeps all the photo money - is this a standard thing?

It depends on the deal he's made with the talent, from my very small & limited experience with this kind of thing - you either pay wrestler £X and then split photo money or you pay wrestler £X + another relatively small fee and keep the 100% of the money.

Give the fact that PCW probably split the airfare for Ryback & Cody Rhodes between a few different shows and the massive queue for both at the Bradford show, he made his money back and then some.

While it may work from a business sense, it makes awkward booking decisions in PCW like that weird 6-man tag with Al Snow, Juventud Guerrera, The Hurricane & Uhaa Nation from a few years past.

I personally disagree with booking talent and then pulling them before the show because no-one buys a photograph. I buy tickets to see wrestlers wrestle, I'm not that fussed for paying over the odds for a photo taken on a smartphone that's just going to get uploaded onto Facebook.

  2. I think all of those comments are pretty unfair. Uhaa Nation was nowhere a big US Indy name when he got signed. He wasn't in ROH and he wasn't really in EVOLVE. Had some matches in PWG but his most notable stuff was in Dragon Gate and over here, because of the PCW connection.

As for Lionheart, didn't he win the belt as a swerve after "retiring" over social media?

Plus I see no harm in putting the belt on Noam Dar. He's been a guy who's received opportunities in PCW and really got over from it and despite a few dodgy moments with the heel turn and the promos where he kinda hinted he was into drugs he's been up in the main event scene for a while. More than enough to have a title run. Even if he wasn't off to RAW, he'd have had a run eventually.

I've not been to PCW for a while, mainly due to me not being too interested in the imports they bring over and the storylines being a little confusing. Am interested in the November weekend though, mainly because guys like Joey Janela, Keith Lee and what not being guys who haven't been seen over here but IMO are guys likely to really get over.

  3. Anybody worth seeing in CZW these days?

Am well and truly out of the loop. Last time I saw it Danny Havoc and Masada were using gusset plates on each other.

From what I've seen, Joey Janela is pretty decent, been having a few blinders with Lio Rush over the past year. As for Xavier & Wentz that's in the Cruiserweight tournament, they've been a team and are quite a fun little flippy team. Xavier is clearly the standout.

Keith Lee from BEYOND will probably surprise people and get really over, maybe like Uhaa did, in the sense that you see him and you don't expect a ton of flips and dives.

I actually weirdly prefer this and am considering the whole weekend.

  4. I wish they'd just pull the trigger on Zayn vs. Owens. I reckon they could make it "WrestleMania worthy" with 4 weeks of TV. I reckon with most modern day WWE crowds, if they are over with the vocal internet fans, it can translate to the rest of the crowd. Definitely helped the likes of Punk, Bryan and more recently Ambrose in recent years.

Chuck in a big US Title Ladder Match and some how get a situation where it's New Day vs. Wyatt Family and I'm a pretty happy camper.

  5. You're all forgetting that Undertaker is a desperate man when it comes to Wrestlemania. Brock beat him clean at Wrestlemania 30 and still Undertaker returned, cost him the WWE Title and low-blowed him before giving him a Tombstone. Pretty hellish behaviour from The Deadman, and all because his complex about "losing" at Wrestlemania.

The Undertaker vs. Triple H Hell in a Cell was built on the same concept that Undertaker couldn't accept that although he won, he didn't walk out.

No matter WHO Undertaker is against at WrestleMania and WHY he's fighting him, it's all redundant to him at this point. It doesn't matter if it's CM Punk stealing the Urn or Bray Wyatt spouting his rhetoric or the McMahon's having another quibble, the Undertaker will walk into WrestleMania and win, regardless of who it's against.

Putting him in this match is the smartest possible move for Vince. He knows his son is (in storyline terms) one of the most tough guys going, and what he may lack in experience and ability, he makes up for with daredevil antics and the refusal to die. Having him fight Kevin Owens on SmackDown is a pretty big gamble for Vince, so if he's going to make this deal, it has to be one that Vince will be certain on.

And in WWE terms, there's only 1 real certainty and that's that the Undertaker is pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to beat at WrestleMania. Sure Brock Lesnar did it, but that's Brock Lesnar. Brock who squashed John Cena at SummerSlam 2014 and is insanely difficult to knock off his feet, never mind actually defeat.

Admit it, if you where in Vince's shoes, this is the exact way you'd go.

Sure, the match is probably not going to be a MOTYC, but I reckon story should come first, and this is certainly an interesting story heading into Mania.

  6. I have no idea how they think the solution to them not making new stars is to have HHH on top and put Shane McMahon (who must be like 50) in one of your main events. Why would babyface Undertaker take such a weird order from old heel Vince anyway? Dumb.

It would be weird if Undertaker was fighting Shane at Fastlane or Payback or some shite like that but logically, it makes complete sense. Undertaker won't take it easy on Shane given his attachment to Wrestlemania and so will probably kick the fuck out of him dead easy, just as Vince wants. It doesn't matter who is in Undertakers way, if it's wrestlemania, he's kicking your head in.

If you were Vince and needed to book Shane in a match he can't win, surely the obvious choice is to book him against Undertaker at Wrestlemania. It's a guaranteed win. Only person that could do it was Brock Lesnar and even that was a struggle so some 48 year old business man stands no chance.

  7. I can completely understand reasons why they need to hotshot that match, but their storyline explanation for it is one of the dumbest things I think I've ever read.

"We don't have number one contenders, so we have to make the champs split up and fight each other". Seriously, that's the best they could come up with. Again, guessing why they have to do SOMETHING, in storyline world wouldn't the answer to the problem of "no contenders" be "decide some number one contenders"?

EDIT: also, front row once again, yeah!

It's all a bit odd. I can't really have seen Andrews keeping the fact he has a TNA contract from promoters (especially in his main gig of PROGRESS) so they could have hinted at something on the last show so this didn't seem so out of the blue. Plus it seems like a major dickhead move from the uber-face PROGRESS Management.

In terms of a actual match, I'm a big fan of it, but in how it's come about, I'm not so much a fan of.

From the looks of things, this show will be the game-changer for PROGRESS. The last NPS final saw the fantastic Jimmy Havoc angle. This show has the 2nd final, what looks to be the pay-off in the Will Ospreay redemption storyline (going from constant loser to THUNDERBASTARD to the destroyer of REGRESSION) and now this.

I'm utterly convinced the moment Havoc loses the belt, he'll turn face again. He's had the deck stacked against him that much, that they have to say "he's still a cunt, but he brought prestige to that belt" at the very least.

In fact, PROGRESS shows are awesome but their storylines are a bit all over the place, I think. If you watch Jimmy Havoc's current set of title matches back, they could be played out the exact same way if all the heels were faces and all the faces were heels. Only majorly prickish thing he's done was leave The London Riots.

  8. Easiest thing to do is go for Bryan/Lesnar and then a Rollins/Ambrose/Reigns three-way. They've already established that Bryan hasn't been cleared by the doctors, he's just decided to return. So the idea of the monster destroyer Lesnar against the much smaller and potentially career-threatened with injury Daniel Bryan is a fantastic story that writes itself.

Ambrose hasn't had his retribution against Rollins so they can build to that. It wouldn't be a stretch to shoehorn Reigns into it. Potentially they could have Reigns pissed off that Ambrose completely ditched The Shield after Rollins left. Maybe Reigns can accidentally cost Ambrose a match against Rollins. Ambrose is known to hold a grudge against those that wronged him (his feuds with Rollins & Wyatt have both started with "you beat me up, now I'm going to beat you up")

I know they want Reigns to be the next megastar, but for the time being, WWE still have the ultimate megastar in Cena, so until then, he should be a silent vigilante type, who just comes out, smashes people up and then leaves. Like what happened at TLC.

  9. Is there some app I need to download on the X-Box One other than the WWE Network, because at the moment all I keep getting is that it is unable to play the video and to try again soon.

Is it just a glitch or is there something other I need to do with the X-Box before I can get it to work.

EDIT: Figured it out. Ignore me.

  10. I haven't watch ROH in ages but try to keep up-to-date with results. So the question I wonder the most when checking them is how on earth do you pronounce ReDRagon?

    Is it Re-Dragon? Red-Ragon? Re-Dee-Ragon? Re-Dee-Arr-Agon?

It's just Red Dragon. I have no idea why they are called that. I presume it's something to do with Davey Richards, hence the DR in capitals.

  11. There was a also group of knobheads with standing tickets that just pushed their way to the front and refused to move saying stuff like “Make me”.  Later on they were shouting stuff like “FAGGOT” at Chuck Mambo and then later started lobbing bottles in the ring.  Some people on the balcony quite rightfully started shouting at them for that shocking behaviour, and the main knob tried to start on him to the point Jim Smallman had to break it up over the mic.  Funny thing was, this twat was taking the piss out of the guy on the balcony for his appearance, calling him four-eyes and stuff, but he himself was one the weirdest looking fucker in there, with a completely bald head apart from then these two stupid wisps of hair right on his forehead that were spiked up like devil horns.

The guy was a complete bell-end. From my point of view, the argument started because the guy started shouting "Stop riding our dicks, Jim - Jesus didn't win", over the fact that Ali Armstrong got the win over William Eaver, while myself, I also would have enjoyed an Eaver win, I'm not going to have a bitch fit because I didn't get what I wanted. I'm sure Ali will do fine (and surely he'll draw Zack Gibson in the next round, that plus Dunne vs. Flash Morgan seem like the obvious options).

Anyways, that guy's comments led to guys on the balcony shouting "Shut The Fuck Up", so the weird fella started putting fingers up and doing the DX chop at them. Really bizarre moment until Jim Smallman broke it up. Mental Scenes.

It was my first PROGRESS show, and I loved it. Had a fair bit to drink and went mental over Samoa Joe, despite the fact I was trying to cheer for Rampage. I agree though, he is the absolute best in the country right now.

  12. I thought he was Bulgarian?

Not that it makes a difference to WWE audiences.

A few weeks ago, they had Lana come out and announce that Rusev has taken residence in Russia and so will be announced as being from Russia from now on.

What this Damien Sandow thing all about? I've heard people describe it as a "Pipe Bomb", but it sounds pretty rotten from what I've heard of it.

  13. It'd be interesting if Dean Ambrose turns on The Shield and joins the Wyatt family. Leading to a tag team match between Reigns/Rollins against Ambrose/Wyatt, holla! Rollins would make a good babyface and it would be a great opportunity to turn Reigns.

I think Reigns actually needs to turn, rather than turn by default due to Ambrose turning mega heel. Plus he needs to turn as a single entity and not joined with Rollins. He has that much star power, he demands it.

However, I am beginning to think that Rollins is the only one come across as a face. He's the man in the middle and he's trying to stop his friends from falling out and be the cool mediator of the group. Reigns (while awesome) is still willing to have a petty game of one-upmanship.

  14. Emma failed because they brought her in, in the completely wrong way. You don't make the shit dance the focus, it's just something that ironically gets popular over time. I'm a big fan of Emma on NXT and even that utterly pandering performance made me hate her a little.

She hasn't failed yet but yeah, that was the worst, most defeating way to bring her in.

Oh yeah, I'll apologise there, she's not failed yet but I can see her failing if that continues. She should have debuted by having her be the rookie who beats AJ in a Non-Title match leading to an Elimination Chamber match. And all the while have the goofy dance be on the sidelines. It can be picked up by the announcers but never the main focus.

As for the Ladder Match, I'm calling a Bo Dallas victory. I think he's better with the belt than without it. Plus, based upon Corey Graves's promo, he's not forgotten about Neville, so this seems the perfect opportunity to make a name for himself.

Speaking of which, will there be a person happier at CM Punk buggering off than Corey Graves? You might as well put the merchandise on him and do a Fake CM Punk gimmick.

  15. I think they should do some kind of Piper's Pit segment with Hogan, Austin & Cena. Cena's looking to be the spare part this year (if he's going up against Wyatt), so maybe if you make the main feature of Cena's WM appearance being a Piper's Pit segment that can lead into the match. I think the idea of Austin, Hogan & Cena all back to back at The Wyatts or The Shield circle the ring would be a pretty powerful WrestleMania moment.

    Other than that, I'd go with;

    Batista vs. Brock

    Bryan vs. Undertaker

    Punk vs. Triple H

    Orton vs. Sheamus

Maybe swap Bryan for Orton and then do Bryan vs. Michaels. I'll happily sit through 'Taker vs. Orton if the rest of the matches pan out as they do. I think Orton & Bryan are the safest options for Undertaker. You never hear of them 2 hurting anyone. Brock vs. Undertaker is asking for Undertaker never coming back.

  16. If he went would he even make the main roster? Or would they hero him? You can never tell with wwe

Hero/Ohno got released because he continued to look like a condom filled with porridge and refused to do anything about it. AJ, barring a few wobbles, is usually in decent shape.

That said, Styles has a massive tattoo displaying the name of someone else on the roster. The only thing that coukd save him is shoving him in MVPs old outfit (and that probably wont help in the long run)

I really need to see Styles & Red vs. Young Bucks though. Some promoter just needs to run Styles vs Red again. Take it back to 2003.

  17. In the early-to-late 00's, TNA was practically constantly epic.

That's debatable. There was tons of shit booking ruining otherwise good matches.

I seem to recall Low Ki vs. Chris Sabin featuring some rubbish with a blow-up doll.

Foley's turn as World Champion was also incredibly self-gratifying but complete crap for anyone else watching it.

No idea why just those 2 stuck out but there's tons more, enough to fill a dozen threads.

  18. Did anything happen during the afternoon show to explain why Doug and Lionheart were suddenly tagging together like bezzy mates even tthough they've spent the last few months fighting over the title?

I think the deal was whoever got the pin got to challenge for the PCW Title at the next show, but if Lionheart won, he got to choose his own challenger.

I suspect there may be a promo somewhere where Lionheart promises Doug the shot if Lionheart gets the pin or something along those lines.

  19. Bryan's still a star. He managed to get the crowd to go along with a SHAWN MICHAELS heel turn and got cheered when he beat him up. Bryan can do no wrong, holding him down will probably do better for him in the long run, especially if he can cap it off with a big Mania win.

In other news, the whole show was fucking bizarro land. Sandow cashed in and lost, and the fact he's the 1st guy to cash in and complete lose was treat like it was nothing. Bray Wyatt kicked the shit out of the only 2 main eventer faces not called John Cena, The Shield teased breaking up, Kane dropped the mask and turned heel in a promo and the guys who lost to Los Matadores and got beat up by a midget afterwards beat the Tag Team Champions.

It's like someone's started an new EWR games and fucked off everything that might have been planned previously.
