  1. Which ROH show was outside in a big city?

Are you talking about the infamous match which was shown on TV? If it's the one involving Azrieal, it was in the city of Manhatten, New York and was used to promote an upcomming RoH show in the same city.
I just seen it in the background of a DVD menu. I think Aires was hitting a 450 in it if that helps??
It was an exhibition on a morning news program intended to promote ROH. The segments are featured on one of the ROH DVDs.
  2. just been watching the bret hart dvd extras and at in your house 1 when bret faces hakushi as bret comes out there seem to be loads of letters in the enterance way. why where they there i guess they where letters from fans

To coincide with the first In Your House pay-per-view, the WWF gave away a house that the entrance set was based around. The letters were from the contest entrants. Some kid won and a few years later the family gave up the house because of the higher living costs (I think it might have been in Florida).

do TNA have any rules that make sense. i watched impact the other week and during the main event cage, steiner and tomko vs rhino, joe and angle. the match ends in a dq when abyss comes down and attacks someone (can't remeber) but earlyer on in the match A.J Styles attacked Rhino(with the ref watching) but theres no dq? So one man can intofear but another can't

Don't think about it, you'll do yourself an injury.
  3. The Rat Pack was a heel stable consisting of Ted DiBiase, Jim Duggan, Matt Borne and Mr. Olympia, and it's name came from a group of mainstream entertainers (most famously including Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr.) which had connections to the Mafia and played a big part in campaigning for John F. Kennedy and the Democratic party during presidential elections.

  4. I think their promo from Starrcade 1994 and match from SuperBrawl V are pretty good (the finish to the match is a shame though). The UnCensored 1995 strap-match is most definitely not pretty good. And I've only seen clips of the cage match from Bash At The Beach 1995 but Vader was pretty much dead in the water by that point anyway (though of course, after having been killed WCW still put him over Ric Flair [and Arn Anderson] in a handicapped match no less).

  5. The Gold Club was a strip club in Atlanta that a lot of WCW personnel liked to frequent. Bischoff, Raven and Disco Inferno definitely were fond of it. The 'incident' you're probably referring to is the time Bischoff allegedly paid for a prostitute to have sex with his wife, and I think she came from the Gold Club.

  6. 4. With the relationship between Aisu and Gauntley's family who's to say that Gauntley wasn't running the 3CW show under their banner and taking the money. Maybe the outpouring of support *cough fanboy money cough* has given you enough to run another show .... maybe!

I'm not sure what this relationship is supposed to be (I know on the RIM forum it was alleged Aisu was close with Gauntley's daughter but I know that hasn't been the case for several months now and I don't believe they talk at all anymore), and I also know Gauntley definitely wasn't running the show on Saturday and isn't involved with the management of 3CW. As I understand it, Gauntley was not wanted at the show and had agreed to stay away from the backstage area. With that said, he did end up backstage and was asked to leave altogether before the show would continue. He was back again post-show though I don't know why.Aisu was simply looking to save the show for the fans (and of course to help get the 3CW name out in the precess) and was one of the people to ask Gauntley to leave the Dome when he (Gauntley) broke his word, and all these 'conspiracy theories' being presented as fact about supposed relationships and shady dealings are complete bullshit. I now understand what wrestlers really mean when they talk about hearsay rumours getting passed off as fact on the Internet just because one fan decided something was true and the rest of the 'smarks' chose to believe it because it made for a nice, juicy talking point.

And workers dont forget. Spud cried like a kid, and while Burridge he didnt seem far off either.

Given that he made mention of his late grandfather, I'm not surprised he cried.
  7. Ah yes, the time HHH, after four years in the company not really going anywhere or getting over, suddenly got to pin the Rock in a strap match, main event SummerSlam (and be protected from losing), pin Mankind for the world title, lose by a fluke to Vince, survive a series of five matches in one night vs people in their favoured stips, win a six-way match by pinning the Rock to regain the title, pin Steve Austin, lose the belt to Big Show with the excuse that he was a surprise replacement, ruin Test's wedding by stealing his wife, pin Vince after stealing his daugher, regain the world title, pin Mick Foley in a street fight, pin Mick Foley in Hell in a Cell to retire him, pin the undefeated WCW champion Chris Benoit on their first meeting, and become the first heel to ever win the main event of WrestleMania, at the end of which he was over big time.Still, as he says, success is down to how hard you work - pushes don't come into it.

Nice point, clever post. But pushes always come into it you silly prick.Clever for the sake of clever = cunt.
Erm...I think he was making the point that Triple H believe his success is down to hard work and not his monster push, not that he himself feels that way.Sounds to me like you were trying to be clever for the sake of clever....;)
  8. :yinyang: Can someone please explain to me what the Doomsday match was in WCW. Namely who was in it, what were the rules, who won it and how many times has it happened.

Doomsday happened just the once. That it was allowed to happen that many times is an outrage in itself. The match pitted Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage against Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Kevin Sullivan, Lex Luger, Meng, The Barbarian, Z-Gangsta and The Ultimate Solution. Ultimate Solution was originally named Final Solution (after Hitler's plan to wipe out the Jews) but this was later thought to be a bad idea and changed to Ultimate Solution. Z-Gangsta was formerly known as Zeus in the WWF. Both Zeus and Solution were actors, not wrestlers. The bout took place inside (and outside) three cages stacked on top of each other with The Monster Maniacs fighting their way to the ground level. The match ended after Savage and Hogan smashed all the heels up with frying pans then left the cage (for the second time). Then went back in so Savage could actually pin someone to end the carnage.Naturally, Ric Flair did the job.And yes, everything written above is completely, 100% the truth.-------------Question: Am I right to assume that Monday's RAW (UK version) will be a 2006 Best of given the Iraq tapings this week?
  9. Kobashi vs. Morishima has happened in tags but I don't think they've ever had a singles match (just having a look for any info now)

In fact, I've already found out that it has. I knew I remembered it from somewhere.

  10. As far as I could find, the Sabu-Funk-Douglas match was the first in the US with three singles wrestlers in the ring at the same time under pinfall rules. (Incidentally, Funk only entered at the end of the first 15 minutes.)

As a further tidbit to the three-way thing, SMW ran Tracy Smothers vs. Brian Lee vs. Dirty White Boy on 25, 26 and 27 December 1993 with pinfall rules. The one report I have of the Christmas Day show says that White Boy got posted at the bell leaving Smothers vs. Lee and after Smothers was pinned, White Boy made his comeback for a White Boy vs. Lee match with Lee again getting the pin. From the sounds of it they did two singles matches rather than have all three in at the same time though I guess they were all in together 'officially speaking'. I'd assume they ran the same match all three nights since the results seems consistent. Also, was the Vader vs. Sting vs. Guardian Angel 1994 match the first Triangle match in WCW and was the Flair vs. Luger vs. Sting triangle match from Starrcade '95 the first time they'd done it with all three men legal as opposed to two singles matches? And another thing...how often do triangle matches take place in Japan? I can't recally any from New Japan or NOAH though it seems vaguely familiar that All Japan or one of the smaller leagues would have run some?
  11. What/where would be the best place to get me some OVW and DragonGate dvds?

OVW footage is owned by WWE now so OVW no longer sells official releases. Your best bet would be to trade or buy from a trader or download.

How often does Pro Wrestling Noah run Tokyo Dome shows? Where can I find reviews? And where can I purchase dvd's of Pro Wrestling Noah? Thanks

They have only ran the Tokyo Dome twice - it's a once a year occasion if that.NOAH merchandise is available from http://www.noah-usa.cc/merchandise.html
NOAH ran the Tokyo Dome in 2004 and again in June 2005. There was/is no Dome show for 2006 because NOAH doesn't have a main event match big enough to fill the venue but a Dome show is expected for 2007.
  12. Why is the ring called "The Squared Circle" ? It's always bugged me :/

It's most likely from amateur wrestling, where the actual fighting surface is a circle (which is painted on to a square mat). The professional ring 'squares the circle'.Alternatively, it may be from a similar process in boxing, which originally took place informally in a circle marked on the floor before professional rings were used.
What!?...I was always under the impression it was simply because it's a square ring...?
And how did you think it even got the name "ring" to begin with?
  13. And BTW, to clear up any confussion - getting on TWC is as easy as ABC - don't be fooled by thinking you have to be something special to get on it - just look at 1pw

When does your show debut? Given that it's as easy as reciting the first three letters of the alphabet as you claim.
