  1. I can't believe you write for Britain's top wrestling magazine, whilst Norfolk's top wrestling writer, Julian Radbourne, doesn't.It just makes yours truly violently ill.

Great. I hope you die as a result.
  2. Have you had some sort of breakdown?

Quite clearly. It's genuinely worrying. He's even lost the ability to troll effectively.
C'mon Bobso- can't you see this for what it really is?
  3. Thanks for the plugs, Mo. I've already had a couple of well-paid jobs stem directly from this forum, so this type of publicity is much appreciated. Making sure to include the links to the individual pages on my site was particularly kind of you.

Just trying to babyface you after BR's awesome job of turning you heel, kidda. ;)
Does that lighthearted tone and smiley mean you were not being serious in your arguments and were in fact merely seeking to provoke a response?
In much the same way you were trying to provoke a response by posting three troll threads on MMA after I posted mine?

  5. Taking stuff from someone's pro website and calling it "Big Ego Material" is mental.Everyone bigs themself up when trying to sell themselves (just like any product), he's hardly gonna go to the trouble of paying for a website to boost his writing career then fill it with stuff like, "I'm quite a good writer. I know a little bit about the stuff I write. I sometimes write good things. I'm not very good at spelling (LOL), but I do use spellcheck, PAY ME TO WRITE SOMETHING!!!!!"Jesus!

Eddie,The postings were in response to this utterly insincere 'I'm just another fan' comment:

Have I ever claimed that? I know a fair bit about wrestling, but no more than anyone else who's paid attention over the years.

Also, if you've ever read Lister's posts at RIM on its various public and hidden forums, then you'll know he looks down on most of the people here, yet on the UKFF he always tries to play safe and be Mr. Popular (two UKFF poster of the year awards and counting!). Basically, he's like our version of Mick Foley.
  6. Erm, what? You've cut and paste a post I made recapping my year. Which I posted in an off-topic thread that asked people to recap their year.If you're trying to use this as evidence of me trolling, it's a non sequiter. If you're trying to back up the original troll's allegation that I claim to be more knowledgable than everyone else and am better because of being in a documentary and writing for PowerSlam then, again, there's no logical connection. If you're instead simply shouting "You've got a big ego" as a debating point, then try reading what I actually posted. I've effectively written that at the age of 29, I'd never cold-approached a woman, was still ludicrously skinny, had never gone on holiday with a woman, and still slept in a single bed. That's not exactly the comments of somebody bringing the big 'I am', is it?

Nah, I just posted it because it's hilarious. From the 'Lister has a giant ego' evidence pile (courtesy of his website):

This is the online portfolio for freelance writer John Lister of Manchester, England. Combining NCTJ-approved journalism training with six years experience running the press office at Plain English Campaign, I am particularly skilled at writing on a variety of subjects in a clear and concise manner. I can explain complicated subjects in a simple but accurate way that is appropriate to the intended audience. As well as being a specialist in the subjects of clear communication and the professional wrestling industry, I am highly skilled in general writing including web content and ghostwriting.I am also heavily experienced in writing public relations material such as newsletters and press releases, and have given more than 500 radio and television interviews.

Most recently I have prepared an article for the website of The Sun about premature wrestling deaths. This research has been quoted around the world including on numerous US television networks.

    *cough* Meltzer *cough*

Professional wrestling is not a genuine sport, but it is a genuine industry. I am one of the most experienced and knowledgeable writers on that industry, with more than fifteen years' experience.

  7. Apologies to all for feeding the troll,

:laugh::laugh: You calling someone else a troll.:laugh::laugh:

Enough of the passive aggressive trolling already Mo. Its really obvious

Since when have laughing smileys been aggressive? :)Doing this might be 'passive aggressive'- A Lister post from December summing up his 2006:

I've had a superb year. Things I've done for the first time:* Got a plasma TV* Sold an article to a national newspaper* Sold the 1000th copy of my book* Printed business cards AND got my own (professional) website* Made enough money from freelance writing during a full calendar month to cover my living costs - ie, been a professional* Saw a game at Anfield* Saw Ian Rush, Kenny Dalglish and John Barnes play* Finished transferring my video collection to DVD* Shot past the eight stone mark.* Swum in the sea* Yoga* Rock climbing* Salsa* Approached a women I didn't know at a bar* Thrown a television from a high ledge* Gone overseas on holiday with a woman (as opposed to going overseas to go on holiday with a woman)* Gone to Greece* Turned 30* Tiled a wall* Been out of the house socially every day for a week* Arranged two dates for the same evening* Owned a double-bed* Owned a four-poster bed* Had somebody else share a four-poster bed

Yep, no ego to see here. Move on.
  8. So does this mean Powerslam is out early this month? I saw an issue in Tesco today with Cena on the cover. I can't remember if he was on the cover last month (probably), as their dated design does tend to leave everything blending into one...

Yep, it's out a week early because of the PS50 coming out the week before Christmas.
  9. A bit of a quickie. Why hasn't Sting (the singer) not sued Sting (the wrestler)?Thank you brahs.

Good question, I can never remember any legal dispute getting out. Maybe Turner just paid him off, or maybe it just flew under his radar. Wheres Lister? he's good with wrestling realated legalities.
I'm sure I remember seeing a photograph of them (Sumner & Borden) sharing a stage in a copy of WCW Magazine circa 1992.
Indeed, there was a close-up pick where Sting the wrestler had his arm around Sting the singer from that period- in a matey and non-gay way, of course.
  10. I recently read that in July 2005 CM Punk wrestled Delirious in IWA:MS which went to a 60 minute draw.Anyone know if it was any good?I am a fan of both but the undercard looks shite so unsure whether it's worth tracking down.

    A review from 411mania, sir:

60-MINUTE TIME LIMIT: CM Punk vs. Delirious IIIThis is CM Punk

  11. Also posted in the DG thread, in case anybody skips it:

Dragon's Gate announced today in Japan that they would be sending CIMA, Masaaki Mochizuki, Susumu Yokosuka, Dragon Kid, Ryo Saito, Genki Horiguchi, and Shingo Takagi to the Ring of Honor events in Detroit, Michigan on 3/30 and 3/31 during Wrestlemania 23 weekend. Dragon's Gate sent many of the same talents to last year's ROH events in Chicago the weekend of Wrestlemania 22. That led to one of the best matches of 2006, a six man tag featuring Blood Generation of CIMA & Naruki Doi & Masato Yoshino vs. Do Fixer of Ryo Saito & Genki Horiguchi & Dragon Kid during ROH's "Supercard of Honor" event.

  12. Man, third in Poster Of The Year AGAIN, this time by one measly vote. This year, I'll organise the Burn closer to December, that should tip the scales.I think the awards reflect what a truely uninspiring year 2006 was for wrestling.

Or that no matter how shit the WWE is, people are too lazy to seek out much better stuff.
  13. In the interests of EWW, I think EWWChris needs to strongly curtail his posting. As others have said, it's not that he's the biggest retard on the forum, but more the biggest post-whore, and that kind of stuff is a lot less tolerated than in past years.

In fairness, I can think of someone else who, though he doesn't post with as much frequency, has a higher post count than Chris and I can't recall him EVER having posted ANYTHING of ANY substance ever (no, not me!). Yet nobody says anything about that. Regarde.

  14. I agree. Mickie James was absolutely the drizzling shits. Whereas nearly every other WWE 'diva' is a model that they've trained to become a wrestler, Mickie was a wrestler before joining the WWE and she's really not much better than Ashley et. al. Her movement around the ring looks uncomfortable, she always makes at least one mega-botch every match and the rare occasions when she actually assembles something half-decent, she then fucks up just before, or at the finish.Of the proper wrestlers in the WWE, she is only slightly better than Khali and Boogeyman.

  15. Its Edge vs Foley that's winning actually, although I echo your sentiments. I thought Edge vs Foley was okay but nothing too special. It was a spot fest built on promos prior to the match ending with a 'Holy Shit' spot - fun to watch perhaps but MOTY, no.

Oh shite. You're quite right though my point was made about Edge vs. Foley. I thought Edge vs. Cena was better and if any WWE match was to win this award then that match would be a deserving winner (even though I've seen loads of matches elsewhere that have been better).Really, we need to have three match of the year categories next year; one for the WWE, one for British wrestling and one for everything else.
  16. I went with KENTA. No fewer than four of my top ten matches of this year featured him (including three of my top four) and he had a whole bunch of other matches that were all sorts of great. Honorable mentions to Danielson and Marufuji.

  17. I can't believe Edge vs. Cena is leading this. I probably watched a hundred matches this year that were better than that one. Jeez- I know most UKFFers only watch the WWE but there were several better ones in the WWE itself lastyear, nevermind elsewhere.

  18. The main forum was subdued for most of the year and even up until October, nobody really stood as poster of the year. However, like last year, I've gone with Supremo. It was a travesty that he didn't win last year and his contributions have been great this year. If we had second and third votes, mine would have gone to Moj and Rick. Moj didn't post all that regularly, but when he did, his contributions were invariably fantastic. Rick did a great job of drumming up discussion and brought a great debating style to his posts. It's interesting how the winner from the last two years didn't even receive enough nominations to be shortlisted. John didn't really post less than he's done in previous years, and I didn't think what he posted was of an inferior quality to his contributions from past years. Either this so-called 'Lister backlash' has substance to it or he was overseen because he's just taken for granted.
