Some people still claim Montreal was a work FFS; so if it ever comes out it was after 20 years, they can say "I told you so". Seems very stubborn & stupid.

It is crazy that anyone could still think it was a work, I remember explaining on here back at the time, there is actually no way it could ever be a work because of one interesting fact that I can't believe many other people haven't noticed, especially even last year I am pretty sure the American commentator that used to the 1PW shows made a DVD with a lot of ex-wwe guys and indy guys debating if it was a work, I am sure Cabana, Corino and Raven were on it.

When Owen died, his wife was in the process of trying to sue WWE, and Bret sided with her and was banging on about how bad he was treated, his inclusion in the case was thought to add additional weight against Vince and WWE.

WWE / Vince used the montreal incident to basically have Bret tarnished and nullified in the eyes of the courts as "bitter at how his employment ended" and his "evidence" was rulled as baised due to the historic relationship with WWE

So in the lawsuit against the death of his brother and supporting her wife, all Bret had to say when they objected and accused him of being bitter or having a vendetta, was to declare it was all just a fake storyline and it would have kept Bret's evidence and credibility intact, if there was any kind of possibility it could have been a work, Bret would have to have lied in court during the trial of his dead brother to keep a wrestling storyline a secret. Er Yeah!

  2. Awesome - thanks for those, Mark.

Since you're a hoarder like me, I must ping you over the backstage footage from Showdown - shot mostly by Dean. Lots of cool footage with mostly FWA crew. 2 DV tapes, I believe. I can MP4 it and WeTransfer it over to you. PM me your e-mail!

Sounds great, my email is mark at amerchandise.co.uk

I am pretty sure I have seen buts of it before, but I swear there is a bit where me and Jonny Storm are chatting and it's interupted by Bill Apter, and a playfight ensures and it ends up with either me or Apter taking Storm down, while apter puts a legit figure four on Storm who tries to laugh it off before realising how much it bloody hurts! His laugh to grimmace was brilliant!   I am sure it ended up in the skydome loading area or something!

Hopefully it was that show, or it may have been elsewhere!

  3. here is a random photo I found earlier.

This is the first day PRE-ORDERS for International Showdown, all awaiting the delivery to turn up that day. We processed and packed them, was well over a 1000 pre-orders

    showdown_dvd_preorders.jpg

The location is a mess as we were moving the entire FWA Academy building that week too!

We took them all to a local post office too! Was funny to see us bringing in over 1000 packets in boxes, by the time the packages had the DVDs in them it was probably 10 or 12 times as many boxes lol!

A few more international Showdown bits and one of the TWC shop flyers art

  4. I felt the same way about the Wyatt choir, while I liked it, it would have been infinitely better if the kids had been wearing the masks all the way through. Having them show their faces with cheesy grins before donning the masks made it far less creepy.

I thought it would have been even better if the lights went out, they all appeared around the cage all wearing CENA shirts and doing the can't see me gimmick. Cena doesn't know what to make of it,

Then the Wyatt music bit and it all goes dark again, wyatt appears on the stage and says "one minute the Cenation are with you and then..." the lights go out

the choir all start singing and when the lights come back on then don't have cena shirts on but have the sheep masks on.

  5. Devistating news.

Especially after his speech where he told his girls the best thing he will ever do is be their father or is going to be the ultimate father.

I was much more of a fan of his after his career, his intellect and speeches were very interesting to watch.

His hof speech was by contrast a little off. He seemed to be struggling at times although that was easy to put down to emotion.

When it was announced he has signed a deal to become an ambassador for wwe be seemed so genuinely please and for this to go down days later, especially after appearing on raw is just incredible.

I did wonder what was wrong with him, when he didn't shake the ropes at raw. He spoke the night before about pushing his body beyond the limits and how blown up it go him. However just 48 hours later be couldn't do it. WWE even cut the cameras away when he was doing it. Strange he didn't run to the ring. The suit and getting on could have explained that. It couldn't explain the ropes gimmick

From his YouTube videos to his warrior show to his final wrestling appearance, I always enjoyed listening to him voice his opinions and his true beliefs. I am gutted that we won't be able to hear it again

Thoughts and prayers to his family

    RIP Warrior.

  6. Is it too much to read into that AJ Styles isnt on it?

I was actually thinking about going down to Dublin to go see TNA, cause im sure the house shows would be okay, filled with some nice wrestling, and it would be fun to see Aries and Roode and a few others but TNA just inspire lethargy in me at the moment, I dont think I could be arsed about them.

As I mentioned above, these are the first 10 names, no other conclusion should be drawn other than these are the first 10.

  7. Sami vs Antonio beat all of their previous indy encounters by far. The high spots were spaced out so the moments had time to breathe and settle in. Also you had a crowd who went from lukewarm in the opening fall to fucking nuclear by the third fall. Fucking awesome.

This lived up to all the hype. Astounding.

  8. Did Mark Sloane ever do a shoot interview or write a book? That'd be a very interesting story would love to hear his dreams when starting the FWA and how he felt about his baby basically being taken off him.

That's the thing, while FWA was the pinnicle for some people, it was their peak and it defines them - it was their "book" so to speak, with me - while significant, FWA was a small chapter in my life/story/career/journey etc. It doesn't define me and more importantly I am not deluded enough to think that my thoughts and memories should cost anybody finanically. With the advent of podcasts and streaming video these things can be made available for free. In reality the rambled thoughts, wild inaccuracies, rose tinted, factually incorrect memories might make interesting reading but I am not one to throw people who I used to call my friends under a bus for a 69p download. I was never one to pretend to shake hands, or smile and falsify that I was friends with people but we were all in it for what believed may have lead somewhere at the time and that created a bond and a fondness from the majority of those helped build FWA and I wouldn't sell out that friendship for less than a price of a dairy milk. All of those involved in the FWA that are content in their lives, have moved on, it was a great/interesting/harsh/incredible experience when we all look back, so many unanswered questions and even more untruths, a fair few in this thread unsurprisingly, but we all learnt so much and while there are a million stories to tell, the true story of FWA would make a HELL of a DVD, but the only way it would ever happen is if we ALL sat down and made the definitive DVD, you know! little things like checking facts and interviewing the people that matter. Do you want to hear from the guy who made 2 or 3 shows or the Butler who tore the roof off broxbourne? The story of standing on the outside pretending to be a part of it or the harsh reality of being in the thick of it? It's a great story when the whole truth is told and one that shouldn't be soured or taken lightly. It would cast a whole different light on the FWA....FWA wasn't about kool aid, backstabbing, trainees in the front row. It was about a large group of people striving to do something with Wrestling in this country and would stop at nothing to try and gain that. The story of the stuggle, the personalities, the friendship and the achievements is a fair greater story and if people like myself, Alex, Elisar, Dino and the majority of the roster hadn't moved on to do bigger (or better) things then there probably would be a "Rise and Fall of FWA" type deal but the man hours to made a documentary that would do it all justice is something that none of the core team can muster at this time. The story of being so close to a terristral TV deal, the huge mistakes that cost the company dearly and the major accomplishments which nobody knows about is really a story that should be told. But only if done right. Anyway, after reading the above you can see a book, that doesn't come with a free grammer & spell checker might be a bad idea and as for a shoot interview? You can all have a free personal shoot interview if you see me at a show or something, if I am not busy, then say hello, I am always happy to chat about all things wrestling and i'll be more than happy to answer questions :)
  9. After listening to the AOW and seeing that picture it's still incomprehensible that Pac with all that talent and that look would struggle with confidence and self belief. Maybe that's whats pushed him to be a cut above.

He doesn't, but it's not my story to tell, the AOW podcast was superb but I think he didn't really explain what he meant so much, and that can happen on the spur of the moment. Colt said it was a spur of the moment interview and as we know PAC doesn't ever do these kinds of things, it is only the respect he has for Cabana which lead him to do it, anybody else and he would have turned it down, and from knowing PAC well and having alot of discussions with him, he doesn't lack confidence and self belief, he is insanely humble and really respectful.

His mindset really is that he isn't better than anybody else and that he is always learning and working hard to better himself. He is very confident, but just doesn't believe he is anything overly special, that isn't lacking confidence, that is him not thinking he is as talented as everybody else does.

  10. Fucking hell, PAC 2012 looks like someone shrank Giant Gonzalez's suit in the wash. Just insane.

    Happy birthday, Mark.

That is what happens when PAC added correct nutrition to his routine. He has always been in good shape, he started to eat right and it went went to another level.

I don't mind being honest and telling you when I met up with PAC last year months before the DG show I had to ask him (with all due respect) if he was taking an enhancement, and he to hear he is totally natural blew me away. It's mental.

Here's a photo, no specific lighting, just taken taken before a show and probably just around warming up time.

    PAC1.JPG

  11. WWE it is then. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy really, he has been one of the best cruiserweights in the world over the past few years so he more than deserves the opportunity to break out in America and make some serious money.

Side note, but happy birthday Mark.

Whatever happens, Japan, US, UK, you are exactly right, PAC is an incredible human being, one of the nicest guys you could EVER meet, his dedication and respect for pro wrestling and the people involved in it is unmatched. I really can't say enough about him, anyone who has spent any time with him will attest to.

He rarely ventures into the public scene as he keeps himself to himself, I think alot of people misinterpretated his Cabana podcast but he rarely does non wrestling interviews, questions and media work. His respect level for the business is top notch and if there is more to the story that simply thanking the crowd then I am sure it will known soon enough, but not before

People are always going to jump to conclusions but all we know right now is PAC is in DG and July 22nd, PPV, Kobe World.

    Cheers, Apreciate it.

  12. Everyone's reporting that PAC's left Dragon Gate and is heading to WWE or TNA. Mark Sloan, sort it out, mate ...

    PACbroxbourne1.jpg

Ripped to shreads, flawless execution, breathtaking moves, all natural, the best highflyer in the world

Remember I said PAC was the most sought after talent on the planet a few weeks back?

. At Yesterdays Korakuen Hall show he bowed on all four sides of the ring and waved to the fans after his match. He is still one third of the Open The Triangle Gate Champions and they have a defence on the 22nd at Kobe World, he appeared on DG's show in Gifu today, but if Kobe World does prove to be his last match in Dragon Gate, yesterday could have been his last match at K-Hall so that might be why he said farewell then.

Dragon Gate has been PAC's home for years, if the reports from Japan are as them seem, he isn't going to New Japan, PAC is very loyal and loves Dragon Gate, I can see no reason why PAC would leave DG and move to NJPW.

As Dan Read pointed out. PAC was a invited guest at WWE's UK Tour, they didn't "have a look at him" they have been chasing him for years and I mean CHASING him. I wish people knew the full story behind it, it's awesome. But both TNA and WWE have been trying to get PAC on their books for many many years that much I can tell you. The lengths they have gone too have been amazing

Oh and the guy who said PAC is 1000x better than Mark Haskins, I am surprised such a ridiculous statement was made by such a well travelled fan, Haskins is soo good, hence why he was snapped up by Dragon Gate on ther first viewing and was signed by TNA straight after that. There is no denying his US experience so far hasn't been up to his standard, but that statement is madness. PAC undoubtably is one of the best in the world, but Haskins, for years was Europe's top cruiserweight and I am sure next year he'll more than prove it.

In regards to PAC, I am sure all will become clear soon, all we have right now is that PAC saluted the amazing DG audience at K Hall, and people are jumping to all different conclusions. As mentoned he is scheduled for a Triangle Gate Championship July 22nd at Kobe World,

  13. I understand your point, I just find a bit of a white noise effect from individuals/promotions that are promoting themselves every second and hyping every movement as the biggest thing in history. None of it registers, I end up not looking at any of it. I know I'm not the only one either.

Very true, but then again "individuals/promotions that are promoting themselves every second and hyping every movement" they are doing their job and that is why you know about them because they are infact promoting themselves. If more people made the same effort then there would be more variety, but my posting above explains the TWC situation.

Plus to be fair. So i just opened up the latest FSM. 2 Stories.

1 about 2 British people possibly being signed by WWE, 1 regarding the huge event/disaster/success/situation* (delete as you see fit) at 1PW,

I would much rather read about this that some jabrone who has flown himself off to the US to work some no name group or because comapny x is having "jimmy v johnny 4" in it's once every 3 month venue infront of a local crowd. I am based in Portsmouth, I am never going to travel to Cumbria to watch that show, neither is 99% of the rest of the country, so what is the benifit to readers? They have to cover stuff of interest. More people are likely to goto Thorpe Park at some point, goto 1PW because of the US draw, likely to go see WWE and see British Talent - see above (Every Show needs more Britani/Saraya Knight to be fair)

and the final page is a profile on one of the bright prospects we have in this country.

I know everybody says this guy is the best, our guy is that, best in the country, our guy is the best prospect, that and the other, but the question is who cares? nobody cares about another nobody unless there is a reason to care. The subject of this month's One to Watch is Colossus Kennedy - why should I care? Well they have a good photo of him in action in what appears to be a big show, he has a wicked picture (very different to most others i have seen in the mag) - this draws me and the more I read, the more interested I get. If it wasn't for the cool picture, I would have skipped past it, but it is simple promotion to make himself standout and he did indeed do that.

I picked up a random copy from the pile, it has a section on arguebly Scotland's biggest show, A section about EVE, about BWC training expo, a show report for IPW and about European-wide talent Johnny Moss, who are these people who are missing out? I have seen stuff about just about every group in there, the only one that "I" think are really misrepresented are All Star.

  14. But, equally, the UK scene shouldn't have to be one of relentless self-promoting.

Yes, yes it should. You can't wait for anything these days, you have to be relentless - anybody who is successful in any field will tell you the same thing, the people that prosper do so through hardwork and making the effort. Can you imagine WWE waiting around thinking they have a right to be covered? Not a chance they attack 24/7 to get everything they can.

  15. I notice this point has been overlooked twice now by Brian despite giving feedback on other points above.

I honestly can't get why people don't understand it. I'll cover it and give you the definitive answer.

There are a number of points.

FSM is a BUSINESS, not some kids playing at wrestling and picking favourites. It is funny because the people who winge about not getting coverage should maybe be more professional and seek out HOW TO GET COVERAGE. This is how it works, FSM have an allocation of space for British Wrestling, they know, like we all know, does nothing to actually sell copies of the magazine. It's a prividlige that they cover it at all.

So the question I ask somebody is to define "promoter" - the aim is to promote (to push to the forefront) of everybody else and make your product noticed. FSM allows great promotion of your event direct to Wrestling Fans. It's FREE, but this is where the stupidity creeps in. FSM work on a budget, they have to spend the budget on items that will help shift magazines. They do not have it to spend on a photographer to go photo said events. They do not have the budget to pay a writer to goto the events because they need to spend the money on the areas that will generate sales (i.e WWE / TNA news, interviews, pictures etc etc) But it would seem that people are unwilling to do the PROMOTIONAL side of it. You need to make the effort if you want in. The UK news is heavily based around the FWA / BWC / Showstealer productions stuff, it is. But for good reason is because nobody works AS HARD to make it happen. Interesting stories, great pictures, constant effort, I bet they have enough stories each month to fill the section twice over and often miss out on stuff they would like to have got in.

Send your stuff in, do NOT expect FSM to go to huge lengths to do YOU a favour, they don't have time to goto your website, chase you for the news, they do not owe you anything, you infact owe them, because they are offering you a space of advertising (

  16. Leaders vs Pac and Haskins (IPW:UK)
