  1. An amazing influx of attention seekers and people who are already established members becoming highly irritating and self indulgent.

That is such a true statement of this place, well said sir.
  2. I have a question.Presuming these co-workers from the text messages to be close friends of Chris, Chavo being one of them (?), why was nothing done sooner? If I got just one of those messages, I'd be majorly concerned if it was my friend, particularly after having lost another in Eddie a year ago. At that point, I'd be dropping everything and flying to GA to find out what the hell was going on.

  3. I just feel like there has to be a reason. Not that any reason would exonorate Chris from killing his seven year old son but just SOMETHING must have happened!

True enough, although there can be a lot of psychological explanations to what happened that weekend.
  4. I'll appreciate Benoit's work the same way. I don't see how the end of his life, this tragedy, in any way affects what he did in the ring or who he was in the ring. If Mozart had murdered five hundred people he'd still be one of the greatest composers of all time. Though, like Chris is destined to be, I don't think he'd be remembered for that. American wrestling has lost one of its virtuosos, you might argue one of the last great American wrestlers. The world's lost three more people in tragic circumstances. And wrestling itself's picked up yet another bruise.

Mate, nobody will be 'allowed' to feel that way about Chris. Hell, even I feel somewhat dirty by mourning Chris after what's happened. I just feel so uncomfortable with it all at the minute.
See, I think you're wrong there. Certainly there'll be some pressure to hate on Chris, we've seen evidence of that in this here thread. But I think Chris is going to be quietly ignored by the wrestling world from now on, ESPECIALLY if the report into his death opens up a massive can of worms. Lets not forget, if its decided by the media that WWE, its lifestyle, or the drugs or whatever is 'really' responsible for this, a lot of the focus of the anger is going to go away from Chris onto the big E. That's always what happens when some report or other decides something else is 'really' responsible. So in the end its down to each fan to come to terms with it their own way, either to look past the end and focus on the life, or to burn the idol and hate him to soften the blow of the deaths. You feel uncomfortable, and that's perfectly understandable, because this is one of the biggest shocks ever and there's a whole lot of issues to come to terms with. But eventually you will come to terms with it one way or the other. From what you've said, I think in the end you'll mourn Chris as much as his family. But I don't know you, and I'm just guessing.I'll fly a flag for him, no matter what anyone says.EDIT: I'm probably way too active in this thread, considering what it is, but I think getting my feelings out about this and talking with you lot is part of my own way of dealing with it. In a way I guess its led to some good, because I haven't posted on the UKFF in ages, and now I feel the need for a little digital company. I mean really, who the hell else is going to be able to share relevant feelings on the matter?
    You have a PM mate.

  6. I've seen all the latest news and all I can say is, that I feel very sick.Physically sick.I can't get my head around dealing with one of my heroes falling so far from grace and having killed his family and himself. I think some people should be more patient with those who feel the same.

  7. I find this all too distasteful to stick around for to be honest. So many people seem to be too busy playing amateur detective, rather than having any kind of sympathy for the psychological reasons behind why it happened, and what it means for those left behind. Not that anyone will pay attention to this, because it's just not as fun as being Sherlock Holmes is it?

  8. Sky Sports just had an update, pretty much saying the same strangulation/smothering/hanging allegation.Similar to people not believing the deaths until they came from more than one source, I think it's best to wait until multiple sources confirm the same thing.

Agreed but unfortunately some seem more keen on finger pointing and making up stories than mourning the loss of a family, which no matter how sinister it could end up being, is still just as tragic.Frankly some of this thread worries me.
  9. IF Benoit did this, surely it must have been something huge to tip someone over the edge like that. It's tragic that Benoit's wrestling legacy may be tarnished by the way his life has ended. I don't know Chris the person, none of us do, but as Chris Benoit the performer, R.I.P.What a horrible, horrible story this is. I am shocked, just totally stunned. My prayers are for the family left behind who have to deal with this huge loss.

I think that's the point that everyone is missing here, something tipped him over the edge. We've seen how much Chris Benoit loved the business, how much he loved the fans and the things he did for his colleagues. He was being used to bring rougher talent up to the levels they should be at, by going to ECW. For everyone who sees this as black and white, it really isn't. SOMETHING or SOMEONE tipped Chris Benoit over the edge, of that I'm pretty sure. Chris had a blemish free record, you didn't see him acting the way that many in the business do and he was a hard worker. I'm struggling with the idea that Chris, without provocation or reason, suddenly decided to phone it in for Vengeance and kill his family for the hell of it. You don't suddenly become a murderer overnight without some kind of trigger. There are people out there ready to damn him straight off the bat, making others feel guilty for mourning him but not me or anyone else here will know the truth of what happened in the final hours of the Benoit family. We won't know what was said between him and Nancy, or what happened to start this off. Why is it so 'moronic' as another poster put it to, to question the act as being Nancy's responsibility? The only truly innocent and most tragic part of this, is the death of Daniel who was a child caught in the middle and those family members left to pick up the pieces for the children left behind. At the risk of being frowned upon - RIP Chris, Nancy and Daniel Benoit.
  10. RIP John Tenta. In my opinion, Quake was the best big men to have graced the squared circle. He had the immense size but used it brilliantly and had the charisma to put across the heel side of Quake. His battle with cancer was a long but determined one and I really do feel for his family. I have experienced the disease a number of times within my own family and friends so know how painful it is.Thank you John for the memories.

  11. I'm playing:Lord of The Rings - The Third Age on PS2.Football Manager 5 - PCGTA: San Andreas - PS2Star Wars Galaxies - PCNot that inspired by GT4 which pissed me off because I thought it would be blinding. I just cannot get into it :(

  12. Star Wars GalaxiesThey've just done their big 'combat upgrade' and the new expansion is out today, so of course the servers are down at the moment! Still enjoying it but it can drag on sometimes.

I'm playing that too but it's way too much like Everquest II set in space. I really don't see what was wrong with the original game. Still, I'm downloading Jump to Lightspeed and Rage Of The Wookies later, so that might be okay.
