  1. I simply questionned what the criteria is for suspending/banning users because I'm curious as it's not like the normal experiences I've had on other forums.

I've never been on a another forum with so much bitching, flaming, whinging, crying, trolling and outright stupidity. This place is pretty unique to me.

It's hard to have an absolute set of rules because so many circumstances are unforeseen. How do you plan for someone admitting to a sexual assault for instance?

I think if everyone keeps the banter friendly, posts with a point of view rather than just to antangonise and works out their extra-testosterone elsewhere, then there'll be no need for mods to do owt.

I certainly agree on your first point there. The UKFF to me has been an absolutely unique place on the Internet and I don't think there will ever be anywhere quite like it. You NEED to have a tough skin as a user to survive here and if you're easily upset/offended, then you might as well delete your account and go somewhere else. For all the bitching, flaming and outright stupidity, there are however poster gems out there who provide good chat and funny banter. However like you say, I've never seen such displays of extra-testosterone release anywhere else online. Whereas most forums probably can have a set of rules, I think the UKFF has seen so much of it's share of unique cases, that such rule sets probably can't exist.

Thank you for taking the time to reply and for a sensible response.

  2. Again what is with people today. How do you know he was not taken to one side and asked to calm it on a subject matter. He has been banned for a reason. He will be back whenever the ban is over and it will be like he never left.

I am sure there is no conspiracy people get banned for reasons. You don't know the reason because you are not a Mod.

Did I say anything negative about Rick? No.

Did I say anything negative about anyone? No.

Does that answer your question of "what is with people today?" Tart.

  3. Did anyone report Gladstone though? Fair enough about the thread with Triple A, myself and Butch, because enough people on here thought it was the correct decision to suspend Butch and Triple A because there was a few posts deleted and nobody (apart from me, AAA and Butch) saw what was originally wrote. At least that one was up for debate, but for this one, I cant honestly see how Gladstone got a suspension for anything he said in the paypal thread. You even said something along the lines of not caring about what he said. This isn't even about you as a mod. This is about suspending a fairly popular member on here, for nothing. I dont think anyone's got any hatred for him on here. He's never been one to be a cunt for no reason. I just dont think you acted fairly on that one. I really dont see how anyone can defend the decision to suspended him.

If I can just say, I'm not here very often anymore and nobody probably even knows who I am but there are certain posters that I enjoy reading contributions from and Ian, Butch and Gladstone are three such examples. I have seen some real pondlife come in and go out of the UKFF, some of who seem to get away with their shenanigans for some time before any action is taken, classics which include wishing cancer or AIDS on people. I just think it's a shame that Gladstone couldn't have been taken to one side first before suspending him, after all he is clearly one of the more intelligent people that could have been reasoned with, rather than the more moronic trolls who won't listen to anything other than a ban.

This is nothing against you either Rick, as I count you as one such smart poster who provides interesting discussion. I just am a bit curious as to how the 'discipline' system on the UKFF works compared to a couple of other forums I visit.

Not the clearest image of The Yeti there, but the whole Hulk Hogan versus Wrestling that seemed to be going on in WCW at the time, was summed up by this disaster of a character. Having started to watch the complete set of WCW Nitro, I deserve to be punished for putting myself again through the nonsense that was Hogan burying 90% of the roster during 1995 up until the nWo greatness.

  5. The one 'comment' about PTW/my mother/etc alone is both untrue, and unnecessary, and bearing in mind it came from the mouth of a 'man' who lies more than he breathes, Nick 'I spit water over people because I can't get heat any other way' Bourne; who no sane person has ever listened to in their lives - speaks volumes about how much you people dislike me, if you'll believe a scumbag like that. I mean, you might want to ask people their personal views on the bloke who's saying that before you say anything about me.

The photo of me you've used is from 2007. Living in the past much? I've lost two and a half stone since then, and shaved my head. Want my new proper promo picture? At least get your facts half straight if you're going to do all this.

As for the police thing, it's just a situation at football that has been blown ridiculously out of proportion (why don't you ask Bedfordshire Police? Oh, no, that'd mean not assuming things on your behalf), that has nothing to do with PTW.

As for the comments about 'young females', I'll not even react to that on most levels. I'm certainly not married, and never was, I'll say that much; and my children are at a lot of PTW events (want to criticise me for that too? go ahead...some of us are proud to be a father), so if you want to assume (there's that word again, it's what people do when they only have rumour and hearsay to use against someone); go ahead. I can't stop you, but it shows how desperate people are when they have to sink to these comments. If you know me personally, you'll know I have the most amazing girlfriend who I am thoroughly unashamed to admit I am all loved up over, and am even trying to grow up for. Take the piss all you want there, because I simply don't care.

On a booking note, I never book myself to 'take glory', if anything, you can ask the people I work with; all I do is book myself to help put others over, and bump around (okay, I'm not great, try asking people I work with, I'm ridiculously humble on the subject, and I'm still learning; but who the hell isnt still learning?) for the boys. Wow, what a sin, the promoter that doesn't have to do it but wants to help, gets thrown about a bit to make his lads look good.

But I'll make the day of all of you, I'll tell you that I am legitimately not booking Dan Edge anymore. No, that's not a 'work', or a 'shoot', and anyone nearish to the situation will tell you that's completely genuine. Also, that wasn't the main event the night of our 'match'; as James Mason vs Johnny Kidd was. I doubt it actually will, as I have never been given any benefit of the doubt on this forum, but perhaps that will go someway to you all seeing some changes; same as the upcoming main event of PTW's October 9th show, which is James Mason vs Jonny Storm. I don't suppose either point will get the majority of you to see things even remotely differently, but I figured both things were worth a mention.

Anyway, deep down I always dreamed of making your little list, and am only quite disappointed in an odd way; that I didn't make first. There's always next year, I guess, and I will now go off and promote three PTW shows in three different parts of the UK in three weeks; to attempt to overcome and come to terms with my disappointment. Eitherways, despite the inaccuracy of most of what was posted; thank you for putting me on your list. Professional/two faced enough for you?

    I love you guys!

Yes because you really are the nicest guy on the planet aren't you?

You've never been a dick to anyone in your life have you?

  6. The greatest worked shoot ever. In order to make it seem real, he got Easy E to give him his release, in order to make it look realistic for an angle down the line, but making it actually real and received McMahon's first ever guaranteed contract. Then he broke his ankle, and it's all downhill from there.

    Thank you for that mate.

Brian Pillman was one of a few bright spots in an often frustrating period of time with WCW before we got the awesomeness that was the nWo.

  7. Two question please:

    1) Just prior to WCW Uncensored 1996, Brian Pillman would randomly show up from the crowd to involve himself in the angle revolving around the Megapowers and the Alliance to End Hulkamania. I thought he had been fired before that when he walked out of the strap match between him and Kevin Sullivan, where he was replaced by Arn Anderson. What's the full story behind Pillman's departure from WCW?

    2) I've not found this anywhere else on the forum but judging by the remarks on RAW recently concering Jericho will quit if he doesn't win the WWE Title in the 6 Pack Challenge, am I right to assume Chris is done with the WWE?

    Thanks guys,

    Paul

  8. That's really knocked me for six. I didn't know him on a personal level but I remember him posting here and corino_mark was instantly recognisable to me. Wrong place at the wrong time and now a life has been tragically ended, it's just not right. RIP Stu and as someone who lost a child myself, I am definitely thinking of his parents and family.

  9. That HBO interviewer was absolutely shit as all hell. I wanted to see a bit of hype and needle, isn't that what you want in order for your fight to be money?

Loved how Floyd owned the interviewer at the end, nicely done.

  10. Met Sven Goran Erikkson over at West Ham, quietly spoken but very pleasant and actually seemed interested in talking, even though you knew he had better things to do.

Matthew Upson, top man and a stunning wife too.

The majority of the TNA roster were really decent guys too. I can't speak highly enough of Kurt Angle who was the nicest celebrity I've met.

On the negative, James Storm and Robert Roode were both arrogant bastards.

  11. I have started watching Battlestar Galactica. About 7 episodes into season 1 and it had a strong start and seems to be growing into something really special. I know alot of people love it, and while just know I only just really like it I can definitely see it becoming a favorite if the episodes keep getting better and better like they have so far.

It's amazing and I'm surprised there's not a thread for it on here to be honest. The final ever episode is tonight so I recommend you picking up the full box set when it's all over.

  12. Having just bought SFIV, I'll have to wait until Pay Day for my next purchase. However I'm strongly leaning towards picking up Watchmen. I'm a big 2000AD man, Rogue Trooper, ABC Warriors, Strontium Dog, Bad Company, Slaine and of course Dredd himself. Is this likely appeal to me given my tastes?

I may finally try some new tastes as well, having recently dipped into the Essential Punisher.

  13. Help me make a decision please.

Left 4 Dead or Fallout 3? I know, different games entirely but I need some kind of decision maker to tell me what I should pick up next. I'm so torn between them both and really not sure where to go with it. Is there a big UKFF take up for L4D?

  14. I was thinking flashy as in flashy moves. To see LDN labelled as flashy makes me laugh. I've only seen it a couple of times, but I was impressed at just how mat based the stuff was. Enjoyed it.The reason I gave the thread attention is because PS basically labelled the internet fans as worthless. He deserves every failure he gets for undermiming the fans.

I know for a fact he isn't the first promoter to have said that about the Internet fans. That person simply covers their tracks better perhaps.
  15. Some people love the flashier promotions such as LDN

    LDN is flashy?
LDN to the casual outsider would be seen as flashy and successful based on it's TV deal, compared to other UK promotions that have not achieved this status. For a company that is so hated, it sure gets a lot of attention on here which would promote possibly morbid curiousity leading to people going to see it. This thread actually reads as the "UKFF Obsession With Peter Staniforth Thread" rather than anything else. I'll never quite understand the Internet.
  16. Forgive me, I'm new to all this and I'm going to be completely neutral here.I'm aware that PTW doesn't seem to have the greatest reputation and that it is probably at the other end of the scale to somewhere like LDN Wrestling (simply as an example). Is it not a question of tasters choice though? Some people love the flashier promotions such as LDN, while others don't mind a smaller promotion that might not be as slick and polished. It just seems to be there is an intense divide going on in this thread that I don't quite understand. Is the rivalry really that fierce that the UK industry seems to spend a lot of time turning on itself, rather than pushing forward? Like I say, completely new to the business workings, but it's my two pennies worth.

  17. Call of Duty 4 is so much better than Halo 3 in the battle of the big FPSers of 2007.Both campaigns are short, but I found COD4 much more enjoyable and it's multiplayer is great fun.I can't stay away from it, although Mass Effect is battling hard for my attention. ;)
