  1. Cost of manufacture was big back then. Distribution smaller too so bigger costs per run.

It was even bigger for longer tapes hence some WWF PPVs being released edited down to two hours.

Was this the reason Harley Race vs King Haku ("battle of the Kings") was cut from the video/ dvd release of Royal Rumble 1989? I always wondered why they cut his match...

  2. What always surprises me is when I see those old Coliseum Video advertisements in WWF magazine from the 80s. A videocassette of a WWF PPV in 1988/1989 cost $ 39,95 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

Even in 2017 that is a LOT of money for a dvd, let alone thinking about how much it must have been back in the 80s. How can this be justified?

  3. Still bummed about missing last night's show.

READING about Vader vs Ospreay, it's a shame there was so much interference, as I'm always hoping for a one on one contest. Vader needing someone else to win? Vader? The unstoppable monster? I'd assume Ospreay would be getting the win, perhaps by interference of Ricochet.

I saw the intros/ introductions on Youtube. At one point Ospreay turned his back to Vader during the introductions to mock him. Doesnt seem to be right. Who would turn his back to Vader?????

  4. Anyone here also saw the Virgil and his travelling merchandise table shoot? Def the worst I've ever seen. He is full of shit and doesnt remember anything.

He gives a new meaning to "carny con artist"...

  5. This morning finally made my decision and booked a VIP ticket for the Hulk Hogan show. Since I'll be travelling from the Netherlands, I had to give it some thought as the total package incl travel isn't cheap, but...

Since 1986 he has been my childhood hero. Now, almost 30 years later, he still is my hero and I have great childhood memories of him. I have never met him before, and realize that this is probably my only (and last) chance of meeting him, as he doesnt come to Europe a lot and he isnt getting any younger. So I decided to make this childhood dream come true.

With the risk of sounding "mushy", I would like to thank neil180 and Ant for posting it here on UKFF, as without you guys chances are that I wouldn't have known about his UK appearance and I probably would have missed out on this unique opportunity. Thanks mates!

  6. How come there is so little footage available re Bad New Brown? I know WWE won't release a dvd re his career, but I am surprised no other company has released a "best of" dvd (to the best of my knowledge only a shoot interview is available - nothing else).

He was such a talented wrestler and also an interesting character.

  7. Jericho is a typical case of overstaying your welcome. I loved him in WCW, very original, lots of charisma and great wrestling skills. When he went to WWF/WWE his act was not original anymore. Even his skills couldnt be shown to the fullest anymore as everyone there needs to wrestle the same toned down style.

Imo his books are amazing, the first one def being the best.

Fozzy on the other hand... pffff... Jericho acts like it's the second coming of Metallica/ Iron Maiden, but in reality it's more of a boy band than a true metal act. Main stream seems to be the word here, Jericho loooooves main stream so he thinks he will appeal to everyone. I once attended a Fozzy concert in a small bar, just for the opportunity to meet Jericho afterwards. The concert sucked. Meeting him afterwards also was a bit of a let down. He didnt seem to care at all. He posed for a pic, but it was clear that he didnt gave a damn.

RVD the same thing. The problems start to arise once the wrestler knows he is amazing. Same with RVD. In the mid 90's amazing. Afterwards, same old shit every time. In the last few years Ive noticed how much he has toned down his style. On top of that, all of his matches lack flow. He does a flashy move. Pauses. Poses to the fans. Next flashy move. Pauses. Poses to the fans. Give it up already!

  8. Pure Dynamite is an amazing book, def one of my favorites. It starts in the UK and takes you to Canada, Japan and WWF. It also gives insight in his life after he wrestled his final match.

It comes across as bitter sometimes, yet always honest.
