  1. So I take it by the TNA Knockouts specials thats been in Impacts place for the last few weeks on Challenge TV mean MVP & Kenny King burnt the place to the ground like they promised on the last Impact!? Poor British Boot Campers competing all these weeks for a spot on the equivilant of Sky's foreign channel. They can aspire to top Nigerian Idol's ratings :(

Maybe a stupid question but where does that leave TNA on UK tellys? Do we even get Destination America or are they likely to keep it on Challenge as we didnt get Spike either?

  2. I remember me and Iandrewdiceclay went to see his standup (we enjoyed Ken Dodds standup more and left midway through Dodd)

He was canny with me cause I took Tietam Brown for him to sign but was proper arsey with Ian as he had a Hogan shirt in saying something like "I hope you wear a Mick Foley shirt when you go to meet Hogan" Petty we thought. Every appearance he makes now I get a horrible 'oh give it a rest Mick' feeling. His faux angry promos that he cut on CM Punk were cringe inducing. He's pervy with any young lass (and wears sweatpants you can see a hard-on through) and I remember Test had a go at him once backstage from creeping round Stacey Kiebler (good on Test, rest his soul) and I for one am embarrassed by him. Great thread!

  3. Marketing folk, I have an interview tomorrow for a marketing asst position at a local agency. Always seem to choke at interview stage so fully prepped up with answers to any of those weird 'trick' questions and going to relate all answers back to the job/person specifications. Any other hints or tips anyone can pass on?

  4. For the first time in weeks I was intrigued by the Storm/Gunner fued. I love seeing people who have no business in wrestling on TV like Gunner's Dad so was great to see him blasted over the head with a bottle. He went down like a bag of shit. Did a little research into Gunners Dad and Storms made a rod for his own back cause he's picked a fight with www.lail-law.com

  5. The Willow gimmick is fun but strange at the same time. He's now an alter ego of Jeff Hardy and is essentially Jeff Hardy in a daft mask i.e wears the same clothes. I thought he was built up well on the vignettes and they shit all over him at Lockdown. I don't know why they have to mention Jeff Hardy at all and stick him in his Beetlejuice suit for matches?! He'd look the bollocks!

Magnus is a beacon of light in TNA every week for me. He's given chicken shit and turns it to chicken salad. It's only his matches (very green and made to look like a bitch every week who needs the entire heel roster to help him win) which let him down. I'd love to see how he'd fair in WWE.

I've noticed in recent weeks the TNA die-hards (Roode, Gunner, Storm, Young etc) all have the same promo style and just end up screaming at each other in 'intense' stare downs. Load of shite!

Spud's over acting and comedic schtick actually grew on me on the post Lockdown impact. Crowd seemed with him aswell.

    Bring back Rob Terry!!

  6. Put it this way: TNA are severely lacking in speciality PPVs, which would add a bit of depth to the few they have. WWE have the Royal Rumble, the Elimination Chamber, and (sometimes) the Survivor Series, and (before) the King Of The Ring. WCW had WarGames and SuperBrawl (I think).

Superbrawl wasn'r a gimmick PPV, and War Games was a type of match held and several different PPVs rather than an event.

Uncensored started out as a gimmick PPV, and Battlebowl was a shit one in 1993.

    Once again, I stand corrected.

So WCW didn't have much in the way of gimmick PPVs, then? Very surprising when you read about all those reports of gimmick matches and insane booking, you'd think there'd be more of it.

I think it was more of a case of failed gimmicks rather than no gimmicks.

World War 3 for instance, the idea of putting 92 rings togther and 3,000 wrestlers doing battle for...no not a title shot but a ring?

I am pretty sure stuff like the triple cage match that we saw in 2000 was another attempt at creating a gimmick match to rival WWE's own (in this case hell in a cell). They also had Spin The Wheel, Make the Deal at Halloween Havoc.

However the ideas ethier never stuck or they just didn't put the right amount of effort into them.

All great ideas IMO. Was just thinking of the WWIII gimmick the other day thinking how class it was. Remember someone going for a suplex when the cage wasn't high enough to keep his legs under the roof. Class. I even like Feast or Fired & Full Metal Mayhem when TNA churns them out.

  7. CM Punk's in a rich vein of form, isn't he? He's been canny class since his commentary schtick last year. His fued with Cena, joining Nexus (which I thought was excellent) and his title reign have been class and all peppered with his charisma-rich promos. Only bad thing was his 'Sheamus' esque face turn in which he ended up pandering to the fans with lame jokes and never sold anything. I fucking hate Sheamus.

  8. I saw the trailer for The Dark Knight Rises at the MTV Movie Awards. Looks class. Christian Bale is the finest method actor of his generation and Tom Hardy (Bane) is excellent in everything he's done so far. Should be an amazing watch.

I'm going to use that to segway nicely into asking if anyone has seen this...

    James Belushi FTW

  9. Mayweather is still the best money spinner in the fight game. He generates such interest and drama in his fights. Looking forward to Gary Sykes taking on Adrien Broner for the World title too. Like both fighters and I'm a big fan of domestic fighters like Gary over here so it'll be interesting to see how he fairs.

  10. Remember watching a match on youtube of a giant indian (of Pakistani style desent) bloke (who was the drizzling shits in the ring) and a really old Japanese wrestler (THE really old Japanese wrestler. Wrestled into his 60's)

The Indian tried shooting on the old bloke but the old bloke knocked him about and made him humble.

Who is the Indian in this match?
