Off to see The American tonight...
Â
Last movie I saw was Seven Pounds (after seeing someone post about it in the tear-jerkers thread) and it was so heartbreaking! I love Will Smith and he didn't disappoint. Although I really need to stop watching such sad movies. I felt the impact of it for a couple of days, made me think about my own mortality. Rosario Dawson was a great as always too.
Â
Saw Karate Kid (remake) last week too. As there was no way I was paying full price to watch it, we went to see it at the cheap theatre. Which is when a movie has been out for a while or doesn't do very well, they play it there. It's only $2 so I'll go and watch the movies I'm not sure about instead of paying $10.
Â
I thought it was shit, quite frankly. Far too long and at one point I actually fell asleep.
Â
The only other stuff that came out here recently is Takers, Lottery Ticket, Piranha 3D and The Last Exorcism.
Â
The first three look like utter garbage. I refuse to pay to see ANYTHING with Chris Brown in it. As for The Last Exorcism, every Exorcism film I've ever seen (except The Exorcist) has been a massive fail.
-
Remember Me. My husband didn't wanna watch it because it has Robert Pattinson in it. He ended up in tears at the end of the film. It was one of the best films I've seen for a while, and it was nice to see him in something that wasn't Twilight or Harry Potter.
-
Going to see The Expendables tonight. I just had to, with that cast.
-
The Other Guys and Dinner For Schmucks were the last couple of films I saw over here. They were both hilarious.
Â
I have no idea if they've been released in the UK yet or not.
Â
Before that I saw Salt. It was okay, I just believe Angelina looks far too frail to pull off the action.
-
Inception.
Â
Went to see it at a special midnight showing last night. I'm not gonna say too much because most won't have seen it yet but it's not very often I walk out of a cinema with chills. It was without a doubt the best film I have seen in years. I was completely amazed and will definitely be seeing it again at the next opportunity.

Ewww, all this talk of having sex with pregnant women is making me feel sick... Don't know why but whatever floats your boat..Looking blooming lovely MAT, the bump suits you!
-
Congratulations MAT, hope everything goes well with the pregnancy. I'm hoping my little sister has some similar news over the next couple of years. Don't want to put a downer on things but she's had 2 ectopics within the space of 18 months and now has no fallopian tubes so is now on the IVF waiting list. I would happily give up my child bearing abilities if it meant she could have children, even though I want kids eventutally. It's just been so heartbreaking to see her go through it, once was bad but the second time was devastating. Especially since the first time it all happened due due to NHS neglect. They told her she was pregnant and sent her home ignoring the fact that she had severe pain all down once side. 12 hours later she was having emergency surgery clinging onto her life. Could have all been avoided. On a more positive note things are looking good for the future, she has a very very good chance of getting pregnant and having a child through IVF. It's not the getting pregnant that's the problem it was getting it through the tube down into the womb but IVF should sort that for her. Bless her, she's totally my hero. She's been to hell and back over the past couple of years and is still smiling!!

Without giving me any spoilers, what do people think of Whats Eating Gilbert Grape? I've seen practically every film Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio have done but have never seen this. I've got it on DVD and I'm going to watch it tonight, can't wait!
-
I watched Notes on A Scandal yesterday. I thought it was brilliant. Has anyone else seen it? Thoughts?

Found this on Ebay today http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Chris-Benoit-Commemo...1QQcmdZViewItem
Â
May be offensive to some people so don't look if you think you may be offended. Personally I think it's sick and I was quite shocked. Does anyone know ebay's policy on this type of thing?

I'm currently playing Tomb Raider Anniversary on PS2, it's stunning graphically but the control system is rather annoying.
-
This post is a bit late and I haven't really got anything more to add than what's already been said/discussed. I honestly cannot get my head around what's happened and find myself sitting watching TV and my mind wanders onto Chris, Nancy and Daniel. I'm still pretty much shell-shocked by it and that Chris could do such a thing. Every day I'm hoping to wake up and look on the internet to find it's all been a big mistake which I know is never going to happen. The thought of what Chris did to his wife and son makes me feel physically sick and I'm absolutely torn because I can't bring myself to hate him. I don't know how to feel at all!

The last film I watched was 'Dirty' with Cuba Gooding Jr in it. I really didn't like it.
-
Elizabethtown - This film really moved me, I thought it was excellent. Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst were both fantastic in it. I wasn't sure what to expect upon buying it but I've been left feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
-
The Untouchables - Believe it or not the first time I've seen this film was last night and it's over 20 years old. I thought it was amazing, Kevin Coster looked soooo young!Walk The Line - Wow, just wow. Not really much else I can say!
-
RIPEarthquake was one of my favourites when I was a nipper because he had the same birthday as me. I found that out from one of the sticker albums I had when I was at Junior School. I have fond memories.
-
I've seen loads of DVD's recently but the one that springs to mind is Dicso Pigs. It was really good but it's so tragic. Cillian Murphy is amazing, that it all. Also, has anyone seen Glengarry Glen Ross? It's a film we were all told to watch by one of the Senior Directors of the company I work for to inspire us!!
-
I'm currently reading Deception Point by Dan Brown. It's excellent so far, very complex but easy to read at the same time. I've also read The Da Vinci Code, Angels + Demons and Digital Fortress. Angels and Demons is my favourite by Dan Brown. I'm really looking forward to The Da Vinci Code film. Although I am slightly disappointed at the casting of Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon. I am prepared to eat my words though!Tess Gerritsen is also one of my favourite authors and have just bought some more of her books.
-
I watched Cinderella Man today on DVD, I though it was awesome. It also made me cry. I've always though Russell Crowe was a fantastic actor but in this I thought he was amazing. Should have won an Oscar this film!
-
Yup, I think the graphics are breathtaking. It's very different to any of the other games but it's nice to see Lara back doing what she does best. I liked Angel of Darkness but it just didn't feel like Tomb Raider plus it was full of bugs.Has anybody played the new Tomb Raider? Thoughts?
-
From what I've read about the film, no it's not.Is the gay sex explicit in Brokeback Mountain? I don't fancy sitting in an empty cinema whilst two cowboys are rodeo-ing each other.I must see it however.
-
Funny you should say that, I've just been reading about this film on IMDB.If you haven't seen Brokeback Mountain watch it. It's brilliant.
-
I saw this on Friday evening. How gory?? Very enjoyable though.I want to go to the cinema tonight, anything else good on at the moment?Final Destination 3 - Very enjoyable.. for me with Destination films its all about the death scenes and FD3 had the goodies. Cool shit, check it out!

Last film I saw was 'The American' at the cinema last week. It was dull as fuck. Usually I'm a fan of George Clooney movies, but I didn't enjoy it at all.
Â
We rented Ghost Writer this week, it's definitely worth a watch. It has Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan in it. I'd never heard of it before I saw a trailer for it on another DVD we rented weeks before. I'm also quite disturbed that Pierce Brosnan seems to be in a lot of movies I've seen recently. Ewan plays a Ghostwriter that's been employed to complete the memoirs of the former British Prime Minister. It's a Roman Polanski movie.
Â
The next movie I want to see is The Town with Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner. It came out here today.
