  1. anyone watching Mayorga/Cotto this weekend? its gonna be brutal.

ive been watching a lot of Mayorga stuff this week, total maniac. I love combat sport hype, and a lot of it is hype/playing up for the camera's, but with Mayorga's it's legit. that guys got an element of danger about him, he seems unstable. It makes for exciting viewing, i love it!

Mayorga's fight with Sugar Shane a couple of years back was a classic! How Ricardo got KO'd with 1 second to go in the 12th while seemingly winning the fight, I'll never know.

I think Cotto will win - either by early KO or most probably on points. However his recent brutal fights against Pacquaio and Margarito may still hold some mental scars. The later rounds should be interesting if Mayorga weathers the early storm.

  2. Pacman comes in at 142Ib's

De La Hoya at 145! :omg:

Rumours are circulating that the scale was put in De La Hoya's favour and was not calibrated correctly.

At the press conference afterwards, both Manny and Freddie Roach claim Pacman weighed himself before and after the weigh in on his OWN scales and weighed 146!

If that's the case, Oscar may have been 149Ibs at the weigh-in - 2Ibs over the limit and $6 million out of pocket (there was a $3m fine for every pound both fighters went over the limit).

Hope Pacquaio wins but Oscar's power will probably prove too strong...

  3. Judah vs Cotto was a cracking fight! Loved every minute of it. I was out of my seat when Zab stunned Cotto with that upper cut in the 1st round! His legs were gone! Shame he wilted under the pressure later on. I don't think a rematch is out of the realm of possibility...especially since this fight was so exciting!Anyone else enjoy Zab's 'Didier Drogba style' dives? I think Ricardo Torres showed the world what can happen when you connect with Cotto's chin. Ever since then I don't think Cotto's been the same fighter...I think that aura of invincibility has now gone. Even Malignaggi gave him a good run for his money last year, and he's no puncher.Who's next for Cotto then? Aside from a rematch, I guess the smart money's on him fighting the winner from Williams vs Margarito.Although we can all wish for a fight against Mosley or PBF...

  4. Just got back from the States and the hype for the De La Hoya/Mayweather fight is amazing!Anyone been watching De La Hoya/Mayweather 24/7? I saw 3 episodes in the States and honestly cannot wait for the fight now! They're showing it on Sky Sports too.Would love to see De La Hoya win but I'm pretty sure Mayweather will win on points. Lets hope its not a fight where PBF just runs around the ring for 12 rounds and we actually see a classic.I still think Sugar Shane Mosley is the one guy that can actually beat Floyd though...

  5. I just got a txt from a friend telling me this news - I'm knocked for six! Can't believe it!RIP Mike - will miss the mullet, the 70's outfits and of course those brutal matches with Masato Tanaka.A real shocker :(

  6. I just finished watching the Pacquaio/Morales III fight. Wow...what an incredible atmosphere! Rey Mysterio was there carrying the Mexican flag for Morales.I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet but its a cracking little fight.Shame Sky didn't show it - but Bit Torrent is your friend if you want to see the fight in full. Or check out YouTube for highlights. Also don't miss AC Slater doing the post-fight interviews :D

  7. Is anyone showing the Corrales/Casamayor fight tonight or on a delayed basis? Can't seem to find anything on Sky Sports' website.Apparently Corrales has failed to make the weight and has been stripped of his WBC lightweight title. The fight will still go ahead though...

  8. Definitely one of the British fights of the year. It was really close but I had Woods edging it by a round or two, so I think he was a deserved winner in the end. Great fight though and who knows, maybe a fourth outing could be in the offing somewhere down the line?By the way, is anyone showing the James Toney/Samuel Peter fight from last night?

  9. Some mouthwatering fights coming up over the next few months! 10. He'd get absolutely murdered against Hatton.

Agreed. And against Mayweather too.Gatti vs Baldomir was an exciting fight but the step up in weight has proved too much for Arturo who should definitely hang up his gloves now in my opinion. He's been in far too many wars already and at the end of the day, we don't want him to get seriously hurt in there.Gatti said afterwards that Baldomir had the hardest punch he's ever been hit by- yet the guy doesn't even have a decent KO record. At the end of the day it was a bridge too far for Gatti, but the likes of Hatton, Mayweather and Cotto will be licking their lips at fighting Baldomir and adding another title to their ranks. The guy seems very beatable...It will be interesting to see who Hatton does line up next though...
  11. Why? There was no coverage of the fight. If there was then I would. If you have to download a fight to see it then it's not a spoiler.

The fight is being shown on Sky Sports on Wednesday night :/
  12. Disgraceful by Castillo! All week he's been saying that weight would not be an issue and he's been having checks all week. On top of that they were meant to be penalties in place by HBO is he didn't make it - which I guess will be enforced now.Was really looking forward to the fight as well

  13. Did anyone see that cracking fight yesterday between Kevin Anderson and Young Mutley? They've dubbed it the British version of Corrales vs Castillo! Truly was an excellent fight.Couldn't believe my eyes in that 10th round...what a great comeback! On the subject of Chico, can't wait for the third fight on Saturday night! Smart money is on Castillo but I'll be cheering on Corrales and hope he gets some measure of revenge for the weight-debacle last time out. Plus he's probably more likely to fight Hatton this year if he comes through :)

  14. Colombia's Edison Miranda became the first man to stop London's Howard Eastman in their IBF middleweight eliminator in Hollywood, Florida. Both fighters landed big shots in round three before Miranda rocked Eastman in the fifth with a big right hand. Eastman staggered Miranda in round six, but the fight was stopped after a barrage of unanswered punches from Miranda in the seventh. The loss could spell the end of the road for the 35-year-old Eastman. Miranda will now fight IBF champion Arthur Abraham, who beat Eastman last July.

    That's a shame :/ always liked Eastman...
  15. It ended in a majority decision draw, with 2 judges scoring it even and one putting Rahman way ahead.

How does that work? Surely if its a split decision and one judge gave it to Rahman while the others scored it a draw- it would go to Rahman wouldn't it?
  16. Sorry Ebb :( Doesn't look its gonna be shown anytime soon. It might on Friday Fight Night in a couple of weeks though. I heard Sky showed the Vargas/Sugar Shane fight the other week so we'll probably get it on a delay.Really wanted to see this fight live though! "Has-been" Rahman has been talking a good fight up to this point. Lights Out has been pretty funny too. Smart money's on Toney I guess...

  17. I got a question, who should Ricky Hatton's next opponent be?Baldomir?Freitas?Gatti?Castillo?Corrales?Witter?Anyone else? Baldomir fight would make sense and add another recognised scalp on Ricky's hitlist. It would also set up a nice little earner against the winner of Judah/PBF fight somewhere down the line. Also is anyone in the UK showing the Sugar Shane/Vargas or the Glen Johnson/Hall fights next weekend?
