  1. Edit: Oh yeah, and I must agree that the bird levels are fucking awful. They're just not fun to play. The Monkey Ball style ones are still shit as well. Hmm.

Not a fan of either levels too, ok they use the features of the wii remote. Id just rather do all that using the nun chuck or in my case the analogue stick on my 360 pad since I'm playing Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 on the PC.

Oh well might try this Brtual Mario World on the Snes (Remade Game).

  2. I've just beaten Bowser, with 91 stars at the end. Some I haven't got because I just haven't gone back for them yet, I need to find comet coins to open a few more up, and there's a couple that I haven't got because they were so infuriatingly tricky that I quit before ending up throwing the remote at the TV. I haven't done any of those cleaning jobs either, where you have to smash boxes using fireballs, because I really really hated those in SMG1. And I haven't found any of the elusive green stars yet.

You cant get any of the Green Stars till you get the 120 stars. If you have the Homebrew channel installed you can get a program which can use action replay codes like to say IE disable the timer.

Try the tree slide collect purple coin challenge, one of the worst mission since mario has a hard time jumping on cue which leads to death, and collecting these coins are hard enough.

But then this is the Finale SPOILER ALERT

    The Perfect Run

  3. What are you on about? It's the same game but with different levels!

Having spent this afternoon with SMG2 (thanks, Game!), I found no faults whatsoever with the controls. The camera did spin round a bit too far one time, but I corrected it with the buttons (the ones that within the first 10 minutes of the game it tells you to press if you ever need to change the angle). It isn't the best game ever, but it's a solid 8 creeping up to a 9.

Ive had several control issues, when walking arround the planet Mario seems to get confused running around in circles instead of the correct direction but then it isnt a easy task to solve. Galaxy 1 seems more "simplified" than Galaxy 2. Agree it do deserve a 8 out of 10.

  4. Now, for the explicit purpose of making ajmcstyles's blood boil:

Super Mario Galaxy 2 - better than perfect?

Not just the game of the year, or even of its console generation - could Super Mario Galaxy 2 be the best video game ever made? GameCentral gives its verdict on Nintendo's latest masterpiece.

    http://www.metro.co.uk/tech/829948-games-r...er-than-perfect

    Cheers for that.

Going through Galaxy 1 its nice just the same as number 2 just more basic. It would be perfect if we could use a REAL controller rather than the remote/nun chuck, but then these people say COD6 is amazing when its nothing more than your average first person shooter no worse no better.

Im currently going through MGS 4 too for the FIRST time, as ive played the other 3 in the series, its different still trying to get to grips with it.

AND WTF Earthworm JIM on XBLA where did that appear from? The Graphics on that are amazing, im not overally fussed about graphics vs gameplay but its brilliant. Tempted to splash out 800 points for it.

Sorry for being harsh on the gaming world, but when a game gets a "perfect" rating but when actually playing it, its "average" or has bugs or faults which if fixed would VASTLY improve the game.

The "best game of all time" which is apparently the Legend Of Zelda - Ocarina of Time on the N64/Gamecube/Rom. Do you agree?

  5. ajmcstyles, I haven't played SMG2 yet, but if the jumping is unresponsive to the point of causing deaths then I'll be absolutely stunned, given that this was never the case in Mario 64, Sunshine or Galaxy. The camera will occasionally screw you over in a third person action game or platformer. It's almost unavoidable, and developers have been trying to sort this for well over a decade now. That said, the aforementioned 3D Mario games have handled it about as well as you could reasonably expect, so again I'd be surprised if it's that big a hindrance to gameplay. I think the real issue is that collecting 70 stars didn't give you any gamerpoints because it's on the Wii.

Gave up with my gamescore since my 360 drive died so moved onto the wii and ps3 which im really enjoying.

As for possitive, well I fell head over heels for Perfect Dark on the XBLA, Banjo Kazooie and Tooie (Even though I couldnt beat that Bird Race in cloud coocoo land). I grew up gaming on the Commadore 64 since I was 3 and gameplay and fun was the big issue over graphics. Mario on the N64 and SNES are solid gold cos it was fun.

I have flower too since it was on offer. Thats good for graphics and working well with music.

It just as TripleA said makes my blood boil when a game gets a perfect score when its FAR FAR from perfect. As for Mario id love that game if the camera were sort but as mentioned they tried there best or I could use the Classic Controller over the nun chuck and remote and just have teh right stick act as the pointer.

  6. So we don't know if you'd have the same complaints about that, then. Shame.

Give it time. Its not much better, the camera angles doesnt help the game. I was really happy with the level from Mario 64 in Galaxy 2.

Might aswell be a professional games critic.

  7. compared to say Mario 64 or Sunshine

I was going to ask this in the other thread - have you played the first Galaxy game? Even though I doubt it's anywhere near as poor as you're saying, it would be handy to know if you're including SMG1 in your comparisons, because that's the most obvious measuring stick.

Nah I havent played Number 1 yet, well not fully

  8. I dont know what the BIG fuss with Mario Galaxy 2?

Ive just completed the fucker, with the 71 stars outta 120. I completed it, I loved the 2D parts of the game but the 3d parts is shocking,

Id love the game if it worked. I have several issues with the game not jumping when ordered to which led to loosing a life, the camera angles suck compared to say Mario 64 or Sunshine, and mario doesnt do his spin attack when promted on some levels which really lets it down
