  1. Aren't TNA fucking off the free matches because they have an On Demand website with all the DVD's available to buy as a stream?

I wouldn't be surprised if that were the reason why they've taken them down - they must have lost a fair bit of potential revenue judging by the amount of views some of them got.

I like the idea of their On Demand service and if I remember correctly the matches aren't too pricey on there are they?

  2. Is it just me or have TNA removed a load of the matches from their Classic Matches channel or whatever it was called on YouTube?

There was a ton of awesome stuff in high quality on there before and the majority of the matches were getting a lot of views. I'll be gutted if they're gone for good, it was such a varied collection of old TNA footage.

Is this what you're on about? http://www.youtube.com/show?p=KO9tnQbw8JU

I'm not sure how many matches have been on there, and they may have taken a couple of them down recently. There's still some great matches on there...I think I might watch Angle/Nagata.

Yeah that's the one. I still need to get round to watching Angle/Nagata all the through actually so I'm pleased that's still on there.

So there's definitely been a fair few taken down, most notably all of the Samoa Joe matches that were on there. There were definitely the following Joe matches on there that I remember:

    vs. Sabu, Lockdown '05

vs. AJ Styles, Turning Point '05 + Sacrifice '05

vs. Kurt Angle, Genesis '06 + Lockdown ('07?)

  4. This month's issue of Power Slam has Joe vs. Styles vs. Daniels from Turning Point 2009 at number 73 in a list of the 100 greatest matches of the Power Slam years. Their superb and much talked about three-way from Unbreakable '05 made it to 26.

I've watched the Unbreakable match on numerous occasions and it was every bit as good as fans make it out to be; however, I've not seen their TP scrap and subsequently have never heard much about this one. The list in general is very good and I'm just wondering if anybody who has seen this match could tell me whether or not it deserved to included in a top 100 matches of 1994-2011 list.

  5. Hell in a Cell 2010's main event was Undertaker vs Kane, so does that count as the last match where Cena and Orton were on the under card. Randy Orton was in a title match, but that was the second match on the show.

I completely missed that one somehow.

I'd still be interested in what the last one before that was, though.

  6. As far as I'm aware, Cyber Sunday 2008 was the last WWE PPV not headlined by a Randy Orton or John Cena main event. However, neither Cena or Orton appeared on this card; which was the last PPV which featured either of them on the under card, without the other performing in the main event?

  7. It would be absolutely incredible, without a shadow of a doubt.

I'm adamant that the streak will never be ended and I hope it stays that way.

However, if it were to be ended, then it would have to be Hunter, Cena or a returning for one-more match, HBK. I personally wouldn't mind Barrett too much but that's debatable.

'Taker staying down for the pedigree would be one of the biggest moments in wrestling history.

  8. If thats the plan as of now, I'd imagine thats the plan all together now. The Undertaker's storyline going into WrestleMania starts on Monday, so we will find out then. I hope Triple H is the man to take on the Undertaker. I've missed the both of them and a Taker vs HHH match would be great, I think.

Couldn't agree more with you here, pal.

I will mention that I read it on 24wrestling.com, which I find very reliable, for what that's worth.

  9. I read on a site that Hunter versus 'Taker is the plan going into Wrestlemania as of now, with Trips putting his career on the line a la HBK.

However, I'm sure that he has at least another six month run left in him so I'm skeptical as to whether he will do or not. A match between the two without the career-threatening stipulation would be brilliant and certainly something I'd like to see.

  10. Not read through but id be amazed if no one has thrown HBKs name into the mix for these vignettes.

My thought exactly - the only reason I never posted this was due to the fact I didn't have time to trawl back through this thread to see'f it had already been mentioned.

I think there's as much chance of seeing it being HBK as it would be for a lot of other names mentioned - it's not like he was given a huge Flair-level send-off anyway.

It's the same Johnny Cash track that was played during the hype for their feud last year isn't it? Plus it was at the Elimination Chamber last year when HBK super-kicked The Phenom (not you, Dill).

  11. Got a 4 hour train journey on Tuesday, plus the return journey the following Monday so wanna get some new podcasts on my iPod to kill some time. Anyone know any good wrestling ones worth a listen?

I know it's not quite the same but I've started using this to download the audio from interviews and shoots off of You Tube. I've never had much look finding decent podcasts online so find this the next best thing.

  12. Right this has been bugging me for a while. Another Night in China - this can't really be Chyna and X-Pac, can it? It's promoted as starring "Joanie and Sean", and they do both look the spitting image of Chyna and X-Pac, but it just can't be them.

    It's not, is it?

    Is this a serious question?

Little clue, X-Pac isn't his real name... (geddit?)

Yep deadly serious. And what does that have to do with anything?

Are you meaning Another Night in Chyna as in a sequel to One Night in Chyna, because that's the first I've heard of it?

Edit: Got pre/sequel mixed up like a nonce.

  13. Sorry if it's been posted already in here already but I'd love a book soley dedicated to some wild road stories and other could-only-have-happened-in-wrestling tales.

WWE have two of those books out, though they're probably not very wild. More along the lines of "lol my luggage got lost" and "lol Andre was too fat for Japanese hotels" stuff than the stories of arse-raping underage groupies you might be (and I'm definitely) hoping to hear one day.

Yeah, it's the latter I'm after!

I suppose a load of them wouldn't be able to be published for legal reasons, but I'd love to hear some of the crazy shit that's gone down over the years.

  14. He should have packed it in there, to be fair. I can't see anyone getting another retirement like that. They really pushed the boat out. Great video.

Without derailing this thread too much, I have to completely agree here.

How another retirement could be half as good or emotional as this is well beyond me. Wrestling has changed way too much since Flair (or even HBK) started in the business, so to see a wrestler now witness such a storied, decorated and illustrious career as the Naitch is damn near unfathomable. Even if they did come close, to have them go out on a final farewell against probably the greatest in-ring performer of all time would make it even more unlikely. Just like Hogan slamming Andre, and Rock facing Austin at WMX7 before this, there's only so many times pro wrestling can expect to catch lightning in a bottle just like it did here.

  15.

gets me everytime, and you know what it doesn't even matter he is wrestling in TNA!

    Absolutely!

Nothing I've seen in wrestling before or have since has had me so emotional as I get watching this (bar watching the actual match on the DVD followed by the Raw send off). Wrestling at its finest.

  16. Sorry if it's been posted already in here already but I'd love a book soley dedicated to some wild road stories and other could-only-have-happened-in-wrestling tales.

  17. It has to be Sting - 10 years since WCW went under, WM's in Atlanta and not only was Sting one of WCW's greatest success stories, he's also the last true legend never to have worked for the WWE. From what I've read over the years, there's never been any friction between the two parties and with both Sting and Vince knowing just how much potential there is to be had from "The Icon" going to the Dub (WM, Merch, DVD, Book etc), then I can't see why people seem to think that there's no chance it could happen.

The only two feasible (though highly unlikely) alternatives are that it's a) 'Taker, or b) a new 'dark', Undertaker-esque character coming to face 'The Deadman' at 'Mania.

I very much doubt that it's Taker because, as has already been pointed out earlier in this thread, they wouldn't bring him back with a vignette which bares such resemblance to Sting's Starrcade one, with it being so close to the Atlanta 'Mania.

I doubt that it's b) either; to debut a complete newcomer who could realistically pose a serious threat to Undertaker's WM streak would be nigh-on impossible.

Only a couple of years ago Hade Vansen was apparently slated for the Taker Mania match, and he hadn't even appeared on WWE TV (and ultimately only appeared in 1 vignette before the plan and his WWE career was aborted).

I've not heard of that before. Do you remember when was this planned to take place? For example, six months before 'Mania could be seen as sufficient time to build up a character. We're only a couple of months off Mania now, and having gone over Michaels the past two years on the bounce, it's going to take someone with a serious amount of credential to pose any sort of threat to Taker's streak.
