I was going to write competing like I did the last time, because I knew some smartarse would say "the referee was British", but oh well...TJ Vs. Hero is fine
I can testify that the referee was :pI'll go with my TJ Cain vs Chris Hero at GPW Hero's Return nomination then.but he couldn't because it didn't actually have anyone British in it
-
Was it RAW? I put it as a seperate entry for now.
Or? Which one? Or both? I can't decide for you :)About the Hero/Double C match from GPW, my mistake. I never actually realised he was meaning he wanted to vote for that but he couldn't because it didn't actually have anyone British in it, and I thought he meant that he thought he couldn't nominate it due to someone else already having done so. You can't nominate a match without at LEAST one British competitor in the UK Match of 2004, however you may nominate that match in the Match of 2004.Just another thing:And can you PLEASE put the EVENT of the match as well as the match itself, even if its been said already. Makes it easier for me to search/add into my spreadsheet and not to have double entries. Esspecially FWA matches.Alex Shane vs. Steve Corino from FWA HotwiredorJack Xavier, Aviv Maayan & Ross Jordan vs. Hade Vansen, Stixx & Martin Stone from the same show.

The duration of each nomination is 4 days, then it'll close. I'll be doing 4 more groups on Sunday, which'll be Funniest Moment, Billy Gunn Award - Biggest loser of 2004, Heel and Face of 2004.After all the nominations are done (2 weeks from day I think) I'll post the poll for the award with the 10 (maximum) most nominated in that nomination. They'll go on for a fortnight (extended from a week due to Christmas and New Year) and then I'll post the results. Then the forum will shut down for another yearcool that stevon is doing thesepretty shit that the ones i would have voted in arent open to me
-
You have a fair point, although I asked Moorish when we were setting up the whole thing and he said they could vote for more than one and obviously it has its disadvantages, but I'm sure it won't effect the final result too much.
-
You still can, the idea is the match with the most votes goes in to the final poll. You can vote for both matches if you wish. Please make it clear if you're actually voting and if so, what for. Thanks!I also wanted to go for Chris Hero vs Double C at hostile Takeover.Failing that i'll go for Steve Corino vs Alex Shane - FWA Hotwired

I don't see what harm it does.Does it make sense to allow a poster more than one nomination in any given topic?
Almost certainly will, but they still only get one vote from that person, so unless (as Moorish has said) a significant amount of people vote for that person they won't get into the final poll.I'm referring to the UK wrestler of the year topic. I'm concerned it could lead to manipulation of the nominations. For instance someone could post their ten mates they wrestle with and that's not really fair on the other posters who've made nomination (you know what some of the people on here are like bigging up their promotions and co-workers).
These are just the nominations, the most popular ten (maximum) voted for in the nominations will be put on a final poll to determine the winner. In some topics it is going to be hard to make just one nomination but surely that's the point of year end awards.
Theres no too much I can actually do about that, its just down to the exposure of the match and the promotion. You can only vote and hope for the best, its just like in politics, you may think your party has the best policies and such, but everyones still going to vote Labour/Conservatives/etc. at the end of the day.As I say, theres nothing anyone can really do about it, so sorryI hardly watch any WWE for example and I think I'd be really annoyed if in a match of the year section after whittling down all the top matches to just one a few posters then go on and list teir top ten WWE matches. It's going to be hard to get any puro or indie matches in the finals anyway due to the fact that much more people only watch WWE anyway.Â

No points or prizes in finding big loopholes on who is actually British, just name who you think is the best British wrestler of 2004 and if you think that its Harry Smith, I worry.
-
Nope.Does the UK wrestler of the year have to have wrestled at least one match in the UK this year?
-
No problem brett, if I can do the job half as well as you I'll be happy
-
Is that a vote for Johnny Moss as well, Majik? You can vote for more than one person, just not the same person more than once.Chris Charizma - has ruled MPW, SWA and recently 3CW. A class act.Close second to Johnny Moss who has been stunning this year, but injured for some of it.Majik
-
You're refering to Spud vs. Aviv Maayan vs. Ross Jordan @ British Uprising 3, right?Just to make it clear: Can you please put the name of the people in the match as well as the event name, so that everyone is clear as to what matches you're refering to. Thanks.bu3 next gen 3 way
-
Where was he born? What about Harry Smith? He's spent the last 10 years of his life in Canada & His mother is canadian but his father is British. DOES HE COUNT?
-
I should have noted, the UK Match of 2004 has to have at least one British competitor in it. Sorry Pyrotechnik.
-
To answer TMAs question in the other thread, yes, Nigel McGuiness counts as a UK Wrestler of 2004 candidate. Anyone who was born in Britain and is actually BRITISH counts.
-
Yes, at least one. You can nominate other matches of the year in the Match of 2004 nominations. It also has to have taken place in the UK as well.
-
You can vote for as many different wrestlers/matches/angles as you like, but you can't vote for the same wrestler/match/angle more than once.
-
Thanks Moorish.I've opened the first two threads for nominations for UK Wrestler of 2004 and UK Match of 2004.

Hi,
Could you PLEASE put all questions about the nominations here please. It makes it easier for me to answer them and to tally up the votes and not having to read through pages of conversation/questions/responces/etc.
Â
The first nominations will be up shortly. Before asking a question, check the How the UKFF Awards work thread to make sure your question hasn't already been addressed by Moorish.
Â
Thanks.

I wouldn't hit her back, I'd try to grab her wrists or something and restrain her, but thats probably it. I just think hitting women is wrong.
-
Never actually been in a fight I dont think. I've been in a fighting "atmosphere" twice, both times I didn't touch the other guy, I just stood there, taking punches Don't know why, I just dont hit back unless I'm angry.I did however hook a friend of mine today who took it too far when talking about my mum... Although to be fair we do call him a jew and say that his dad sexually mollests him and his little brother
-
At least this has got Alex Shane over as a heel

Jambo and friends arrive....

Just like to update everyone a little...Theres not a lot of votes between being nominated and not being nominated at all. Because so many people are voting for the same thing (ie. Jonny Storm) that leaves the rest really competing for the votes and ultimately nomination for the final poll. Even some of the matches with 4 votes that have qualified so far, could lose out by other matches (currently with three nominations) getting an extra vote, then there would be more than 10 in total with 4 or more votes and the final poll won't have the full ten in them. What I am saying is, your vote does count and make sure you vote for ANY matches or wrestlers that you thought were top class this year.
