  1. I can't stand BMTH and I just left the arena on the Machine Head tour while they were playing. The loudest cheer of the night was when their banner came down.

So I've never had the displeasure of actually seeing them live, but it is pretty apparent from all the reports that Oli Sykes is an utter cunt. And from what I've been hearing, Machine Head will never be working with them again, Demmel and Duce were apparently absolutely furious with how they spoke to the crowds, and by the second show no other band on the tour was speaking to Sykes, and the rest of his band suffered from the silent treatment by association!

  2. Crewe v Crawley Town

    Crawley Town @ 4/6

    Notts County v Leyton Orient

    Notts County @ 10/11

    Carlisle v Wycombe

    Carlisle @ 8/11

    Peterborough v Coventry

    Peterborough @ 8/11

Accumulator at 8/1 and trebles for me this week. Was a pretty tough week for the coupons!

    Oh... and

    Queen of South v Falkirk

    Draw @ 5/2

    Bristol City v Nottingham Forest

    Draw @ 23/10

    Hartlepool v Colchester

    Draw @ 12/5

Treble worked out at about 39/1, so worth a couple quid, and got doubles on as well. Not that the draws ever work out for me!

  3. Glad I didn't bother with Pan Am now that it's been canned.

Been really enjoying the new season of Bored to Death. Just got the finale to watch. No idea when Sky Atlantic will get round to showing it though.

Thinking of waiting on Channel 4 showing Homeland, but with the reviews it's been getting, the temptation to get the jump is there - especially as there's no news from C4 on broadcast dates.

  4. Sonisphere said they were looking at Foo Fighters and Chili Peppers a few months back. I'd imagine Machine Head will headline a night at one of them. Tool I see as a second on the bill band, but if they do have the album out, I'd imagine will play.

My festival next year is Wacken. Pretty good looking line up so far, and I'd wager a fair bit still to be announced.

  5. Can't beat some sludge metal. All contributions duly noted, and will be reviewed at the earliest opportunity. To go along with the non-mainstream deal, how about we all throw some recommendations out for people to hear of bands that we've uncovered along the way? If you're feeling adventurous you can even toss in some words letting us know where, when & how you heard them.

That is a good idea. I'll have a look through my iTunes and see what I can uncover.
  6. Now I wonder exactly what Craig Hunts... possibly women who deserve it?

Sadly these days I hunt for cheap beer and food. My days of hunting women are over...
You look like a bigger version of Simon Neil.
Not the first time I've heard that. The ladies seem to like him, so I take it as a good thing
  7. See I actually quite like FFDP, they put on a good show. The new album sounds alright on first listen, but it's nowhere near the levels of some of the other stuff that's been out recently. The new Opeth album is in no way an instant classic, but after a few listens I realised just how good a record it is. Mellow, progressive and really powerful. An excellent effort. One that's maybe slipped under the radar is Graveworm's new one, Fragments of Death. As brutal as you'd expect, really good stuff. And, has anyone heard any of Iced Earth's new stuff with Stu Block on vocals? Sounding great, the album, Dystopia is out on Halloween. Can't wait. Also on Halloween, I'm going to see Faster Pussycat on their first Scottish show since the early 90s. In Bannermans Bar of all places. Promises to be a fun one!
