  1. Oh, and surely the idea of a faction called "The Resilience" is that they lose a lot, but come back and win in the end... with their "Resilience", see?

That still doesn't make a whole heap of sense - in kayfabe terms, did Aries set up a group called called the The Resilience, and say "ok lads, we'll lose a lot, but keep coming back"? There's more than one way The Resilience could have been made to look competitive up to this point without necessarily winning a lot. But they've been beaten cleanly, consistently. For example - why make the first 6 man tag elimination rules? Make the first 6 man one fall, and then you build up to the elimination match. But not only did they give away that match straight off the bat, the NRC wiped the floor with TR. And even if we grant you the logic behind the whole Resilience idea, the fact is compelling viewing thus far it hasn't been.
And what made it worse for me was when they lost the big 8-Man Streetfight, I mean surely this would be where they get the big win, but no, they lost again. Also there's a new Jimmy Jacobs promo up at www.ageofthefall.com, tremendous stuff IMO, if you think the whole AOTF thing has been a let down so far I suggest you take a look .
  2. God that Scramble was horrific, 20 minutes of bullshit and blown spots. Looking back it's hard to believe he would even consider making that the main event of your first anniversary show. Cide/Joe was also shockingly dull when you hold it up againsty there earlier ROH matches. I remember beingh extremely dissapointed after seeing that one as I thought they had a chance of topping there revious efforts but all we got was a mega phone in job.

  3. Shelley & Sabin Invade ROH Thursday, February 21, 2008 Something has been eating away at Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin, The Motor City Machine Guns, since ROH's "Good Times, Great Memories" event last year. They lost a classic to Jay & Mark Briscoe on that show that ended up at the top of many match of the year polls. That loss has been haunting them. Now they are set to return to ROH to try to even the score. Shelley & Sabin are signed for ROH's April 18th Detroit and April 19th Chicago cards. Right now, they are only scheduled for those events. They have issued a challenge to The Briscoes. We will find out Jay & Mark's answer next week. The Motor City Machine Guns are regarded as one of the elite teams in the entire wrestling industry. ROH's tag team scene is red hot. Shelley & Sabin want to conquer the world. They know that in order to do that they have to beat ROH's best teams. Things are going to get very interesting in Detroit and Chicago. Tickets are on sale for both shows at ROHwrestling.com, Tickets.com or by calling 215-781-2500. Stay tuned for more news on the surprising return of Shelley & Sabin.

Great bit off news, hopefully they get to wrestle another team as well beacause MCMG vs Steenerico or AOTF (there match in PWG was a corker) has SERIOUS potential.

In other news concerning March 28th, Florida's own Roderick Strong of No Remorse Corps has made a challenge. "Live In Osaka" last July saw the NRC battle a team that featured wrestlers from Dragon Gate, ROH and NOAH all tagging up. Strong was not in that match, but is upset that the NRC dropped the contest. Now he wants a rematch. Strong has challenged ROH, Dragon Gate & NOAH to get a team together on 3/28 in Orlando for a six man vs. himself & ROH World Tag Team Champions Rocky Romero & Davey Richards. &

February 6th: We aren't done with the huge news about "Supercard Of Honor III" on 3/29 as it will be a true ROH supercard!!! The show will be headlined by a double main event. The first main event will be the Dragon Gate six man. The second main event will feature a rematch from ROH "Rising Above" (set to debut on PPV on March 7th) as Nigel McGuinness will take on Austin Aries!!! If McGuinness is still ROH World Champion he will put the belt on the line here. Dragon Gate six man action, McGuinness vs. Aries, this is what a supercard is all about!!!

    Speed Muscle vs Steenerico please.
  6. I loved that show, the 6MM is easily the best one they've done IMO, and Mori'/Shingo was the perfect sendoff for Shingo and quite possibly his best match in RoH. Not really much more I can say about the tag match that hasn't been said already, simply awesome.

February 4th: Larry Sweeney told ROH officials that he will hold out Sara Del Rey forcing the 2/23 SHIMMER Title Match vs. Daizee Haze in Manhattan to be canceled unless he gets his own talk show segment on the live events. ROH officials have agreed. Sweeney's first talk shows will be on 2/22 in Long Island and 2/23 in Manhattan.

  7. Awesome to hear its Kota thats coming in

January 28th: We are very pleased to announce that Kota Ibushi from the DDT promotion in Japan will come to ROH for a very special one week stay. Ibushi will wrestle on 4/11 in Boston, 4/12 in Edison, 4/18 in Detroit and 4/19 in Chicago. ROH officials were blown away when they saw Ibushi live at NOAH's 7/15 Budokan Hall event. Efforts were made since that time to bring Ibushi to ROH and now he will make a very special one week only appearance in April. Ibushi will face main event quality opponents on all four nights. His opponents will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

This is what I'd like to see4/11 vs. El Generico4/12 vs. Roderick 4/18 vs. Danielson4/19 vs. Claudio (With how Claudio works with smaller guys this has to almost a cert to happen at some point and its somewhat of a dream match for me)
  8. January 24th: There will be an announcement this Saturday in Chicago about a new Japanese wrestler set to debut in ROH. We'll give you a hint. He's not from NOAH or Dragon Gate.

If it's any one of these I'l be incredibly happy, Kondo, Kensuke or Kota.
  9. From 2-15 to 3/2Doug Williams(9 millionth trip) 6'0" 231 lbsJay Briscoe(third trip) 6'0" 211 lbsMark Briscoe(third trip) 6'0" 207 lbsChris Hero(second trip) 6'4" 229 lbsClaudio Castagnoli(first trip) 6'5" 231 lbsSource: Official NOAH website.

Nice to see Claudio finally get a shot in japan. Shame they won't be on the Anniversary show though.EDIT- Son of a bitch, no Hero or Claudio at Chikara King of Trios :dickin:
  10. January 22nd: Go Shiozaki is coming to make his United States debut in ROH on 2/22 in Long Island and 2/23 in Manhattan. You can expect to see a lot of Shiozaki in ROH in 2008!!! Can Shiozaki make the same impact that Morishima, KENTA and Marufuji have? We will get an immediate answer as he starts with two tough opponents. 2/22 in Long Island will see Shiozaki vs. FIP World Heavyweight Champion Erick Stevens in a non-title bout. The 6th Anniversary Show on 2/23 in Manhattan will have another first time ever match as Go Shiozaki takes on the ace of ROH Austin Aries. We'll see exactly what Shiozaki brings to the table after this weekend.

Oh yeah, Go/Stevens has some potential, probably looking forward to seeing this more than the Aries match.

January 22nd: We regret to report that The Necro Butcher sent word and will now have to pull of the Chicago show. We apologize for the lineup change. Necro has a commitment that he can't get out of, but he will be on future ROH events. The surprise that The Age Of The Fall have lined up for Dayton will now also be in Chicago to fight Mark Briscoe. Word leaked out of TAOTF camp that this man is known to national TV audiences.

That definately rules out King, I'm starting to think it could be Joey Mercury.
  11. I'm expecting someone in the Tyler Black mould like Josh Abercrombie or one of the Thomaselli's, someone popular in other areas looking for a chance in RoH.

He was the other guy I thought it could be, but what reason would he have for hating society? Being blessed with a tremendous moustache an all
  12. January 20th: We are sorry to report that The Necro Butcher will not be able to make this Friday's event in Dayton. He will still be in Chicago. Jimmy Jacobs told the Age Of The Fall followers not to despair. Jacobs sent word that he has recently heard from a top talent that is not in ROH that believes in the Age Of The Fall cause. Jacobs says that this man has a reason to hate society. This individual will team with Jacobs in Dayton on Friday against Roderick Strong & Rocky Romero. Jacobs would not give us any other hints as to who it is besides the fact he has been a champion in other promotions, he has a reason to rebel against society and he is not on the current ROH roster.

    I hope its Kingston
  13. Apparently the first six minutes were so bad they had to be clipped. A realsuprise at the time, as Daniels vs Homicide was an indie dream match at the time.

The real surprise was that Daniels can at least usually be relied on to have a clean and good looking match, even if the matches can sometimes be completely emotionless. However, some of the stuff in Homicide/Daniels looked awful. Homicide went on to have an amazing 2003, which just added to the surprise.
Didn't he put it down to being nervous about teaming with Dusty or some shit like that?
  14. I've seen the PPV ladder match. It's pretty insane. It's a shame ROH has such god awful commentary or it would be a new favorite. El Generico is a fucking bump machine though.

Commentary doesn't harm it one bit for me. I've watched the match a few times already and I just won't get bored with it. The Doomsday Device spot is just lunacy though. Generico takes a pretty impressive bump in their 2/3 Falls match as well.
You can see why there not going to do another one, you'd pretty much have to kill yourself to top it. The package piledriver & J-Driller spots are especially nuts.
  15. Trios Tournament 2007There will be 3 first round matches. There must be a winner in these matches. The victors will then advance to the first ever 9-man, 3-team Scramble to determine the winners of the tourney. Each member of the winning team will get to book themselves in any match they want on future dates. Here are the first round matches:Trios Tournament First Round Match #1ROH World Tag Team Champions Jay & Mark Briscoe & Claudio Castagnolivs.Sweet & Sour Inc. of Chris Hero, Tank Toland & Bobby Dempsey with Larry Sweeney & Sara Del ReyTrios Tournament First Round Match #2The Age Of The Fall of Jimmy Jacobs, Tyler Black & The Necro Butcher with Laceyvs. The Vulture Squad of Jack Evans, Ruckus & JigsawTrios Tournament First Round Match #3No Remorse Corps of Roderick Strong, Davey Richards & Rocky Romerovs. The Hangmen Three of Adam Pearce, Brent Albright, & BJ WhitmerTrios Tournament Finals Three Team Scramble1st round match #1 winner vs. 1st round match #2 winner vs. 1st round match #3 winner
