  1. Brent Albright is gone from Ring of Honor. There had been rumors going around that he was gone, and it was confirmed in the last few days. He could come back to the company down the line, as he has a close relationship with booker Adam Pearce. [Credit: Pwinsider.com]

Only about 18 months too late but oh well.

  2. Has anyone seen Go Shiozaki vs. Necro Butcher yet? Sounds pretty damn good, but I'd only be buying the DVD for that, so I'd appreciate an opinion on it.

I thought it was good, nothing blowaway but still worth a look. I'd probably only buy the show though if your into Kevin Steen as he's the star of the show.
  3. It's finally going to happen

April 17th: Ok, we know you've waited long enough. The first three matches for the 5/10 Hammerstein Ballroom debut in Manhattan will now be announced. GHC Heavyweight Champion Takeshi Morishima and Bryan Danielson were given a chance to pick each other's poison. They have selected each other's opponents for the card. Morishima has decided to match Danielson up against a man that has held every title in NOAH. It will be Danielson vs. Naomichi Marufuji in a battle of two of the best that ROH and NOAH has to offer. These two met in 2005 at ROH's "Final Battle 2005" event, but they have each matured and gotten so much better. This one has the makings of a classic. Danielson has gone a different route with Morishima's opponent. He wants someone that can beat Morishima up. 5/10 in NYC will see a first time ever battle of the brawlers as Takeshi Morishima fights The Necro Butcher. OUCH! Danielson vs. Marufuji and Morishima vs. Necro already bring two unique, different matches to 5/10 in Manhattan. Now one of ROH's hottest feuds will come to the Hammerstein Ballroom, but with a different twist. Just signed for 5/10 is FIP World Heavyweight Champion Roderick Strong vs. Erick Stevens vs. Go Shiozaki. Since either Strong or Stevens will walk into the Hammerstein as FIP Champion after their 4/26 Crystal River, FL match, the FIP Title will be on the line in this one fall three way.

  4. Thank You B.J. Whitmer Thread from the ROH boardSome of the shit here is hilarious

The only time I've ever been more disappointed in seeing someone leave was Samoa Joe. I can only hope and pray Whitmer will return one day.

In fact, of all the live shows I've been to (about 10), I don't remember seeing a bad Whitmer match at any of 'em

Man it feels so weird he is gone. You will be missed BJ!

    My personal fave

This news just made my day.Man I just feel great

  5. This is just my opinion but there's is no one on the indys that can draw you into a match like Kingston can, he makes you believe his feuds are real and that there's genuine animosity between whoever he's feuding with, and thats a hard thing to in the indys. His matches with Tim Donst are a prime example, after the beating he lays on him physicaly and verbally through out you really want Donst just to beat the shit out of him by the end, I'd say he single handidly made Donst after that first match they had.

  6. Reborn Again is average, I remember Sydal & Marufuji being quite good but the rest is quite forgetable IMO.Fight @ The Roxbury is pretty decent, the 4CS with Hero/Nigel/Claudio/Quack is very good though as is Sydal vs Generico. Skipped United We Stand but I heard good things Dragon/Nigel vs Morishima/Marufuji.As for Caged Rage, the Briscoes/Steenerico Cage Match was entertaining but not as good as I thought it would be, didn't really care for the Jack & Roderick Cage match. I did like the World Title 3-Way though but overall quite a mediocre show. Hope that helps.

  7. You cant go wrong with any of the Austin Aries/Bryan Danielson matches from the late 07, the Glory By Honor match in particluar is great. Claudio vs Morishima & Briscoes vs Steenerico Streetfight from Death Before Dishonor Night 1 are both highly enjoyable, the Claudio match may be my top Morishima defense (apart from said Danielson match of course).Death Before Dishonor Night 2 is also very good, it has Danielson vs Quack and another really good Morishima defense afagainst Brent Albright. A favourite of mine that seems to have been slept on is Quack & Jigsaw vs Steenerico from Domination which is a superb undercard tag match that includes THE best nearfall of last year IMO. Other favourites of mine-Claudio vs El Generico, Race To The Top Tournament Night 2-Naomichi Marufuji vs El Generico, Motor City Madness 07-Nigel McGuiness vs Chris Hero, Glory By Honor Night 1-Danielson vs Morishima, Glory By Honor Night 2 (Killer match, thoughts on the previous page)-Hero vs Aries vs Morishima vs Danielson, Final Battle

  8. Didn't think it was that long ago  To all the Whitmer haterz you may like/love/be ecstatic at this bit of news

March 17th: Larry Sweeney has started his hostile takeover of Ring Of Honor. Sweeney has made it clear that he isn't after ROH management or ownership. Sweeney has sent word throughout the locker room that he is signing as many talents as he can to representation contracts. Sweeney then says he will lead these men to the top of ROH and increase their value. He will then sell them to Vince and make a profit for himself and for whoever signs with him. Will Sweeney lead ROH talent out of ROH? So far Adam Pearce, Brent Albright & Shane Hagadorn sold their souls to Sweeney as The Hangmen Three have dissolved into Sweet & Sour Inc. BJ Whitmer refused and as a result is out of ROH and off all upcoming shows after an attack. It is possible that last night was Whitmer's final night in ROH. However, all is not coming up aces for Sweeney. SHIMMER Champion Sara Del Rey has taken a leave of absence from Sweet & Sour Inc. and several members of the ROH locker room have privately expressed disgust to Sweeney's plan. This is going to be something to watch closely as Sweeney brings the business side and politics of sports to try to corrupt ROH.

  9. Sounds like Tyler had a break out match. Glad to see the end of the H3 but Whitmer as a face again  , it only seems like he turned 5 minutes ago. The Steen push continues :D if the crowd was losing it for Tyler the heat for Steen's title shot should be off the charts considering how over he's become recently (especially in NYC). Why the fuck would they use Mireno, no wonder the angle never went down well, where was Joker?

  10. Vulture Squad vs.Aries and Danielson is up now.Eddie Kingston is in the crowd and has bought a ticket and is harassing the ROH students.Teamwork defeats Vulture Squad when Kingston is distracting J-Train and Ruckus which allows Aries to put the Horns Of Aries on Jigsaw for the win. After the match Danielson cuts a promo saying when I do something you cheer, when Aries does something you cheer, when Ruckus does something you cheer but when Jigsaw does something all you people do is tell him to put his mask back on.

 Finally, i was wondering if he was ever going to make to ROH.
  11. The Manhatten Mayhem II match was definately my favourite, but the stories in the 2 & 3 matches are just great, both of them play their roles to perfection. Hopefully they get to have a blowoff match (Fight Without Honor, maybe a Cage) but with 'Shima winning the GHC Title if they do get to, it's only going to end one way.Edit ~ That tag should be awesome, their match in PWG was superb and it was Face/Face so with nice bit of story leading up to it it could be even better.

  12. ROH officials wanted to book Ibushi in dream matches that would give the fans the most action and highlight Ibushi's immense talents. Ibushi's ROH tour will see him compete in these bouts: -4/11, Boston, MA: Ibushi vs. Davey Richards -4/12, Edison, NJ: Ibushi vs. Austin Aries -4/18, Detroit, MI: Ibushi & TBA vs. Jay & Mark Briscoe -4/19, Chicago, IL: Ibushi vs. El Generico

The Genercio match should be THE shit but I can't beleive he isn't being paired up with Claudio, considering how well he works with flyers an all. Also I watched the GBH shows over weekend, what a match Morishima/Danielson was, 10 minutes of bad ass brawling with a great story, and the DQ finish fit into the context of the match perfectly. Great post match too as Nigel comes out to break up the brawl, only for Dragon to proceed to kick him in the injured bicep and then do a wonderful impression of the Jawbreaker Lariat  Anyone else enjoying Nigel's slow turn??? The stuff with Hero & his promo over said weekend were great.
  13. Well, I was a little hasty in pulling "The Larry Sweeney Show Starring Larry Sweeney" from the 6th Anniversary Show DVD (mostly due to my lovely & beautiful wife yelling at me over it). After putting together the DVD last night, I felt that this segment needed to go on so you could judge it for yourself.I stand by my apology and once again apologize if you were offended. Our goal in ROH is not to be controversial or offensive like some promotions. Our goal is to give you an enjoyable wrestling product. I still maintain that you will not see anything like this from ROH again.Hopefully we'll have this DVD out in the next few weeks. Myself and our production staff are all very proud of it with Shiozaki vs. Aries, Strong vs. Stevens vs. Necro and Nigel vs. Bryan all being stand out matches. Thank you.

Well at least we get to see it now and judge for ourselves weather it was too offensive.
  14. Ring of Honor will not be releasing the controversial Larry Sweeney-Allison Danger-Bobby Dempsey angle from their sixth anniversary show on DVD and the footage won't be used "in any form" in the future. The planned Sweeey "hostile takeover" of ROH storyline will continue

    &

According to ROH sources, The 5/10 Hammerstein Ballroom show has been one of the hottest selling tickets in company history, perhaps ever. They have already sold most of the ringside seats and are back to the ninth row on the floor.

    Suprised they binned it completely.

  15. Aries Vs Genki?! :omg: That's fucking ace.

I'm looking forward to that one myself, good to see Genki get a singles match.Heres the current cards,
