NEW BOOK: The Challenge Report 1986

Hey everyone, as a wrestling fan of nearly 4 decades and a historian who's spent the last few decades writing for major wrestling sites, I'm ready to launch my book: The Challenge Report 1986. The first in a series of books reviewing and telling the story of WWF WrestlingChallenge from the very beginning. 

While diving into the tape libraries and historical records, I wanted to focus heavily on the wild, sometimes undocumented backstage culture of that exact transition era as well as match by match and promo by promo reviews of each weekly episode. 

Two massive milestones from the back half of 1986 really stand out: September 1986 (Flint, Michigan and often mistaken for occuring earlier in the year): A notoriously undocumented house show hosted a near-fatal locker room brawl between Dan Spivey and Adrian Adonis. Adonis was known as a legitimate tough guy, but Spivey was an absolute enforcer. I've put together a full breakdown of how that night went down behind closed doors.

December 1986: Just a few months later, the tag team landscape changed forever when Dynamite Kid suffered his catastrophic, career-altering back injury during another house show loop.

I wanted to create something that captures both the on-screen nostalgia with the Wrestling Challenge review and the real-life backstage grit of 1986. I’ve compiled all of these investigative backstage stories, historical context, and deep-dive match reviews into a comprehensive book perfect for anyone who wants to learn about or relive their wrestling history.
