  1. I'm not an expert by any means but this is how i think it works.

Full time workers doing a 5 day week are entitled to 28 days holiday per year (some companies include bank holidays, others don't).

When working 4 days a week  you are doing 80% of days you get 80% of holiday entitlement : 22.4 days per year.

Yours is a bit more complicated as you do 4 days 1 week, 3 days the next week.

But presumably same principal applies  : you are doing 60% of days so get 60% of holiday entitlement :16.8 days per year.

So week 1 (mon to thurs) you get 11.2 days per year / week 2 (mon to wed) you get 8.4 days per year.

Added together you get 19.6 days holiday per year.

Simply, a regular mon-fri shift over 2 weeks someone will work 10 days out of 14 : you work 7 days out of 14. You work 70% of days so get 70% of holiday.

Hope that's correct. Then again i could be talking complete rubbish.

Probably the best people to ask are citizens advice.

Seven draws all season, the late one against Arsenal and bottling it with 4 draws in 6 games when they had a chance to take a clear lead.

Bottle job may be the wrong word but they should have won the league. Whatever anyone says, they lacked a killer instinct at a time they needed it and its been City's to lose for months.

Drawing near a fifth of your games just isn't good enough to win the league, no matter how good they played in the other games.

They did have a clear lead, they were 10 points clear of City at one point, even after City won their game in hand they were 7 points clear.

I absolutely hate the overuse and misuse of "bottled it" by football fans but  Liverpool not winning the league from that position when it was well within their own hands comes close.

If Man City win the FA Cup the Europa League spot goes to 7th place. If Watford win then they will get the spot.

Pretty much, but i think it's complicated by if an English team win the CL or the El or both but finish outside the top 4 or top 6. Stupidly complicated but somehow it could end up with 5 teams in the Cl and 2 in the EL, those 2 teams in the EL would be either 4th and 5th place or 5th and 6th.

So if City win the FA cup then 7th should get Europe but there's an outside chance it doesn't, unless i've got it horribly wrong.

Having mentioned The Beast of Jersey in the Films thread, and this thread having gone in a serial killer-y direction - is there any real knowledge of this case outside of the Channel Islands? I've always assumed not.

The Beast of Jersey was Edward Paisnel, a serial rapist of women and children in Jersey between 1960 and 1971, and suspect of at least one unsolved murder case in the '60s. In addition, a man who spent 30 years in prison for stabbing his 11 year old sister to death in 1965 has claimed that Paisnel was actually the one responsible.
His wife owned a children's home, and he was known to visit there and play Santa Claus, and most likely visited Haut De La Garenne (the children's care home that got a lot of press as the centre of Jersey's historical child abuse enquiry a few years back). So it ties into familiar themes of long-term neglect and corruption in an insular society.

What makes him stand out as more than just a run of the mill wrong'un, though, is that he styled himself as this monster. "The Beast of Jersey" was a name he gave himself in a letter to the press - it's been claimed that the police found a shed in the woods full of satanic and occult paraphernalia, where he would sacrifice small animals prior to his attacks, and that he believed he was the reincarnation of Gilles de Rais, the 15th century occultist and child murderer, though it's hard to know how much of that was just gossip or invented in various sensationalist books about him (his wife's book is the most cited source, and most likely largely fiction).

He would wear a horrific, torn up rubber mask, with a black woman's wig on top of it, like a sort of proto-Michael Myers. He wore a leather trenchcoat with nails in the lapels, and leather wristbands studded with nails. There are accounts of men who stayed at his house overnight while doing building work waking up to him leering over them in the mask, though several of his victims said he never actually wore it during the act. All very, very odd.

One of the sadder sides of the story - and one that really illustrates the sort of insular community it was happening in - is that suspicion first fell on a man called Alphonse Le Gastelois, seemingly for no reason other than him being a bit of an oddball who vaguely matched the police description of the Beast (in that he wore a dirty old raincoat). He was arrested and let off due to lack of evidence, but public opinion was so against him that his cottage was burned down, and the arson never satisfactorily investigated. His was the only suspect's name released to the public, and the police did nothing to silence gossip about him being responsible long after they had decided he wasn't a suspect. He went into self-imposed exile as a hermit on a small island for 14 years, with no running water or electricity.

I've got the book his wife wrote, obviously child rape and murder is bad enough by itself but the whole get up he used to wear just makes it seem that little bit more worse, the picture of him in the mask on the front cover still creeps me out when i think about.

  5.

JR, Michael Cole and Kevin Kelly make a really smooth announce team on the first Raw of 1998. Don't remember them being that good.

Agreed. Whats the story behind the Shane and Cornette Raw announce team on an episode in Sep 1998.

    1998 WWF is fascinating.

I think that was when JR and Lawler were off shooting Man On The Moon.

  6. A couple of months ago i was in the shower and i turned round to see the sillhoutte of what looked like a huge body of a spider near the top of the shower curtain and 2 hairy legs poking over the top.

I freaked out and sent it flying and god knows where it went. I'm not usually that bothered by spiders, in fact there's pretty much always several in my flat any one time (the ones with small bodies and long thin legs) but it totally looked like a scene out of some B-movie where the spider was about to crawl over the top of the shower curtain and eat me.

  7. Just Googled her. I've seen her in a few clips, notably one where she sucks off a bloke who looked about 96. She's quite the filth.

That video on efukt of her is absolutely disgusting.

Its probably the same one i just watched, if its worse i'd be surprised.

After sucking off some random old men who look like the kind you'd find homeless on the street with a can of special brew in their hand she decides that thats not enough.

So then sucks off some big fat Ricky Tomlinson lookalike on a toilet. Then shoves her fingers up his ass and then in his mouth. The sucks him off some more. Then flushes his head down the bog. Then sucks him off some more. Then starts to beat him up. Then sucks him off some more. Then tells him he stinks.

    Just eww.

  8. I have no problem with people who wish to be vegan/vegetarian but it is one of my absolute pet hates when said people think that it gives them a right to jump on some meat-free pedestal whereby they're better than the rest of us. I'm pleased that you gave him that reply, Thunderplex, good work. It made me laugh

He probably only said it because he was sick of people going in his shop thinking they were being funny and original asking where the beefburgers are.

  9. The best British porn ive ever seen was produced by Relish.

Always looked pretty professionally done with hot girls and men who actually look like porn stars.

Plus they used to do "themed" stuff which made it different but in a good way.

God knows if they still do though, it was about 4 or 5 years ago i think.

  10. Watched The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang yesterday which is from the creators of Napoleon Dynamite. At first this put me off watching as I've never really 'got' ND. But I thought it was brilliant, not in a laugh out loud kind of way but I did have a few chuckles to myself. If you've 90 minutes that need filling I'd certainly give this a go. :sneaky:

Yes, i love this film. Odd characters and a strange storyline but a very enjoyable film.

  11. And they're really living it up, aren't they?

I'd like for the tinfoil brigade and their sceptics to have a pact. We'll keep an entirely open mind on the whole 2012 thing, and then when the date passes without the end of the world, the conspiracy/numerology guys will agree to admit they were completely wrong, shut down their computers, and head out into the blazing sunshine to rejoin the real world.

And if the world does end in 2012 and we all die then all us sensible open minded people will apologise.

  12. My V+ taped cricket highlights instead, but it was definitely on because I was skipping up to SS News I seen GSP and quickly skipped on because I thought I was recording it. I don't know if it was on later or if they switched channels. Doesn't look like it is being repeated this week either.

Anyone know what episode it was so I can look for it on Youtube and still avoid spoilers?

Yeah i believe they changed channels, i went to watch poker as advertised on the epg and it was Ultimate fighter which was supposed to be on the next channel, but was showing cricket instead.

  13. I just dont get why the government/home office are so determined to protect Venables.

Thompson I can understand since it "seems" he has kept out of trouble.

Because you know what would happen if they didn't don't you.

Sure most people wouldn't care if it did but the Government can't really allow it can they.

  14. I understand what you're saying and there is definently a connection between peoples upbringing and there actions, but I don't buy that everyone is a murderer down deep. I know a guy who was abused as a kid, neglected by his mother and being beaten by both on occasions they felt like it. He grew up in a rough part of Bristol and ran with the wrong crowd for most of his life. He never took a life, all of his bad experiences urged him on to make something of his life. Now he's a good father with a respectable job in an insurance company. He did some stuff like drinking, heroin and car theft, but he drew the line at violence.

But my point wasn't that if you have a bad childhood you will be a bad adult automatically. Like the guy you knew, and like how some people who have a "decent normal" upbringing go on to be criminals, its the ubringing, and the things which happen to them in their life.

Plsu one very important factor : their inbuilt programming.

Child A bought up with the exact circumstances of situation B will turn out different to Child B. And it can only take 1 very slight difference in situation B to make child A a completly different person.

Its just a huge mismash of things which make us become the person we are. And theres not a damn thing we can do about.

Basically my point is my view of life is there are some people (a small minority) who have a default setting to cause pain and violence.

I'd say we all have that ability, its part of being human, but we also have emotions such as remorse and emapthy etc etc which nullify them. But in some people those emotions aren't developed as much, sometimes not at all.

  15. People still defending him? LMAO. Is it because it cool to be anti media?

What does he have to do to make it his fault? You people need to wake up and smell the coffee. If we made him what he is which is ,lower than an animal then tough shit, im feed up of paying for his life if we cant kill him then lock him up and throw away the key.

Here's something for you mate :

The only reason you are here posting on the internet and Venables and Thompson are 2 convicted child murderers is circumstance. Pure and simple.

It could of been you. You could of grown up to become a hated murderer. Same as everyone could if the circumstances of their upbringing were different.

What do you think of that?

I dont care what upbringing you have at 8 years old i knew murdering a baby was wrong.

Yeah so if you didn't know murdering a baby was wrong we'd all be talking about how quote the raven should be strung up cause he's a baby murdering pervo.

Glad you could see my point and admit it.
