  1. Hello there, it's been a long time since I've really contributed, mainly due to my exciting news...

So, just over a year ago, I was single and feeling pretty bad emotionally, although I had just lost a bit of weight and I went on TInder, and I met someone. She lived about an hour away so I met her and she was amazing, funny, pretty and a little bit quirky. I spent most weekends up with her, and well in December she told me she was pregnant.

She now lives with me, and we couldn't be happier. Our baby is due in July and I've been very preoccupied preparing as best I can.

Yep this is me gloating :) I am a bellend, but I'm her bellend

    Take care everyone

  2. I would strongly recommend DC's Hitman. It's written by Garth Ennis and tells the story of a hitman in Gotham City's Irish section who gets the power of x-ray vision and telepathy. I know a lot of people either overlook or just don't like the premise but I found it to be some of the best character writing and it genuinely made me laugh out loud and then a few pages I had a tear in my eye.

Also, Transformers More Than Meets the Eye is really enjoyable. I've only picked up a couple but found it really fresh and entertaining without being all broody and gloomy

  3. I know we say this all the time but the Johnny ace booked fussiest media erase (late 2000 -2001)were half decent events. Apart from maiming Sid they reformed mysterio kid man team for the cruiserweight tag team titles, pushed a decent Shane helms, had the elite group being fantastic heel ducks, decided to push Sean O' Haire and chuck palumbo and other things which is cool. Obviously steiner killing 2/3 of the cruiserweight division in one match wasn't the best but you can't have everything

  4. Seemed as good a place to put this.

I learned my granddad died this morning.

I also learnt that I was in shock this morning and breaking down in work is bad for everyone's morale. That's a bit harsh, they were really good I've just been lucky that no one that close to me has passed away since my early childhood before and this has shaken me to my core

  5. Meh, didn't mind Cacophony but I couldn't say it was a favourite, pretty much forgot it existed until this thread.

And the Grant Morrison run with Dick Grayson as Batman is fucking brilliant. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Don't read Battle for the Cowl as it's shit but Grayson and Damien Wayne had some cool chemistry and the stories are just Morrison level good.

  6. Oh God, I don't want another Dark Knight from Miller.

Dark Knight Returns was so brilliant on so many levels, but Strikes Back was an absolute mess. Wasn't even a Batman story, it was a pretty poor Superman book. After ASBAR and Holy Terror I've pretty much written off Miller.

Hopefully it'll be good, but after Strikes Back I can't help but doubt it. But do read the original Dark Knight Returns, still fantastic.

  7. Reading some Marvel stuff the two things I'd say are:

    1. Read the recent Deadpool stuff. Starting with Dead Presidents and ending with The Death of Deadpool. They really created something that was gripping, creative and genuinely moving in parts.

    2. I hate the concept of Axis. I really felt it was arse about face considering what Marvel was based on. I'll put the next bit in spoilers:

SPOILER - Highlight the black box to read
Axis basically revolves around an effort to stop Red Onslaught results in a spell being cast and the people born bad turn good and the good people turned bad. Considering the best characters/villains in  Marvel have all blurred that line i.e. Magneto will do awful things because he lived through a huge atrocity and wishes to protect his 'people'. This concept was fucking stupid too. Dr Doom turns good and decides to 'liberate' Latervia, even though communists aren't inherently evil. And Havok turns evil but Cyclops doesn't change despite standing next to each other.

  8. He didn't feud with Jarrett but he had a backstage brawl where Jarrett sold it like he had no idea why he was being randomly attacked. I piss myself everything I watch it.

That was a great angle. Basically, Bischoff hated Jarrett and decided to demean him by making him to really horrible jobs like selling hot dogs and ticket stubbing, but Jarrett excels and loves it. So Bischoff tells him to clean the bogs, but Jarrett enjoys that too so Morley gets a referee and jumps Jarrett in the toilets. It was one moment and I think Venis left after that.

  9. I'm sorry I have sat on this for long enough.

    I hate AJ Lee.

Why the fuck is everyone crowing about her now she's 'retire' (i.e. will turn up in Shimmer or equivalent to cut another 'shoot' promo on how awesome she is and slag off everyone else cause you know, they get over) even WWE.com are still doing lists and videos and tributes to the daft bint, she really was not anything special!

Truth be told,I didn't always hate her. When I first saw her in NXT season 3 I quite liked her, and Kaitlyn. Then she became the bland girlfriend of evil Daniel Bryan during the best phase of his career ('I don't know... it just looked so much better on the mannequin') and she got dumped, and I thought  maybe they would do a good story of AJ gaining the confidence to confront Bryan and have a great miniseries with some wrestler.

    Instead she went crazy.

That's right, when a woman gets dumped her first instinct is to go doo-lally-tap.

Except the way in which she became crazy was to smile and *GASP* tilt her head. She thought being chemically unbalanced and have a crimp in your neck were the same fucking thing. Her promos were grating at best and they decided she should be the GM and control Raw. Then she got with Dolph Ziggler and wasn't too bad to be fair. Dolph and Big E looked the part of a faction designed to get Ziggler over and AJ faded into the supporting role alright.

Then she became Divas champion, the first thing she did was run down the Divas talking about how great she was. I wouldn't mind with her slagging off Eva Marie but Natalya isn't a 'real woman' compare to AJ? Does not compute love.

Finally, she decided to become the CM Punk of the woman's division, she spent her whole time running down the Divas in various forums, media and on WWE. All while proclaiming to be the better female wrestler. That's fine but come on, both the Bella's have worked hard and look good in the ring, Alicia Fox was the best character driven wrestler in the ring (I love Alicia Fox), Natalya is and always was fantastic, Paige is just gifted as hell , but AJ never put any of these girls over as threats. She poo-pooed them all.

Now she's retired, everyone's all sad apparently but was she really that good. OK I'll admit she was decent in the ring, but I still fast forwarded the Divas matches as the character was far too up herself in the ring and if she wasn't in the ring she was on commentating, and she'd be even worse. Never accentuating a rivals strengths and more concerned with telling the world she's the superior person in the world.

My personal opinion and against everyone else probably, but I really don't understand how she warrants a week of dedication telling her she's great, especially since she spent the best part of five years doing it to the detriment of others.

  10. Sorry to interrupt... whatever's happening here but just had to bitch (I know shocker)

I left the LV job after a lot longer than I wanted to thanks to lying cunt face making the atmosphere fucking toxic and got a job doing PPI. Good money, knew someone there and it was a very nice place.

Anyway, after all the training and the agency never ending to hound me, I failed the accreditation and had to leave. I am absolutely gutted because, even though it was always meant as a stop gap I messed up a few stupid things and let myself down. I just wanted to put it out there cause I feel so... stupid really. Stupid and gutted.

But I came home and applied for three jobs already. Kinda had to, otherwise it was sit and mope. That does no one any good.

  11. Chris Sabin is now gone apparently. Would love to see some US and UK indies book the Machine Guns. Sabin is a bit of a Jannetty for me. The guy is incredible when he's with Shelley. Not much interest as a single. Leaving TNA might be the best thing for his career at this stage of the game.

Leaving TNA is fine but I disagree with the idea Sabin had no personality outside of Shelley. The past few months when he became a absolute dick proved he was solid character and quite fun to watch.

Eric Young... I don't know what to say. Magnus wasn't the best choice but he had much more upside to him than Eric Young, and I felt he was growing into the role. Shame really, hopefully there'll change it next week.

  12. Finally caught up with my Raw's (I've been running behind since before Summerslam). The last one had great moments (CM Punks promo, Daniel Bryan's first promo against Orton and HHH, Cody Rhodes.) and had some dire bullcrap, pretty much all from The Big Show. Stephanie wasn't very good, I get she was trying to be fake sincere and caring but walking up to someone and saying 'hey you're going to die soon, frowny face' was pretty crap.

Daniel Bryan I'm still firmly behind. But I'm guessing what will happen is Bryan will feud until the next ppv (unless he's killed at NOC) then Big Show (boo) then say Dolph Ziggler or Cody Rhodes then John Cena will be back and the angle will die at Wrestlemania.
