Did any fathers out there have dreams about their child before it was born? Reason i ask is I had a very vivid dream last night, where my baby was born. Cut a long story short, it was a boy. Anyone else have a dream like this, and was it accurate? We still dont know what we're having, we want the surprise.

Any news yet about MAT's baby?

Those pics are great MAT. Did you get them done at a private place, or just pay the NHS for them? We're probably gonna get one done, got the 20 week scan on 1st august. Not gonna find out what it is, we're leaving it as a surprise!

Just got back!Everything is going well! We're a bit less pregnant than we thought we were, moving the due date to....24th december!!!! Looks like i'm not cooking the xmas dinner then. Had the scan, everything is moving along nicely and no problems at this stage. Got to admit, i started welling up when i heard it's heartbeat! Currently measuring 1.67cm...bit like a bean. Didnt realise - we got a 4D scan with this!! My scanner isnt working so i cant show it off at the mo, but i'll try to get it onto the computer. It was amazing - could see the face, arms and leg stumps, even though it still looks a bit alien. Dead chuffed

I think ( i may be wrong) that generally they tend to arrive a few days later than the due date. As long as its before 24th december, i'm happy ( I get 2 weeks paternity leave, so that means I get all of christmas and new year off, for the first time in 6 years!) Seriously though, as long as its healthy, I dont care when it arrives.

Wow.. they really try to rinse as much money as they can out of eager new parents-to-be, don't they?It seems pretty harsh the way they play on your hopes and fears selling you a bunch of what really is some pretty unnecessary stuff, that you're buying for peace of mind and extra reassurance, but wouldn't have thought you needed before they told you you did.

Yeah, too right. But then again, we dont HAVE to have this scan, its done privately. Like you say, a lot of it is unncessary stuff, but then we're keen to know that everything is going as it should be, so that if ( god forbid) there was anything seriously wrong with the child, we'd be able to look at our options. We can also get a Downs scan in a few more weeks, but it costs 180 quid, and even then it cant guarantee anything - it can only give a high or low risk. I don't think we'll be going for it, as I don't think we should " play god", so to speak, with nature.

We're off for a "viability" scan at 12.15 today. Just a bit of extra reassurance really, plus we get to find out an accurate date and if there are more than one in there. Costs

MAT, in response to your last, we're waiting to get a date through for the scan, although it should be around the 11th of june or so. According to the midwife, our due date is 20th December. GUess who's NOT working this christmas I swear that Mrs. Silvera is a bit bigger than she should be at 8 weeks though. Plus, we have twins in the family...might be buying double everything!Those 4D scans look awesome, whats the earliest you can have them?

For a girl, we both like Paige or Charlotte. For a boy, Matthew or Tyler. For some strange reason, the missus won't let me call the baby Rocky. Cant think why....
