  1. Caught Swerved and the Tough Enough post - show discussion this morning. I can't believe that Miz hasn't been used more as a presenter for shows on the network. He made what is a very one dimensional show rather interesting.

Swerved is ok, it's easy viewing but I won't be going out of my way to watch any future episodes. I forsee it will be the sort of show I view whilst trying to keep myself awake on the early morning baby feeds!

  2. What were WWF playing at with Shot Gun Saturday Night? The shittest Indy in Britain had better lighting than these shows. They looked horrible. Like a down market ECW. It looked so minor league. Its like watching those Incredibly Strange Wrestling shows. Surely they didnt think filming shows from a nightclub with Todd Pettingill in a denim jacket was going to make the company "cool."

I liked the inital idea of 'Shotgun' but it was obviously one of those ideas that was awesome on paper but not executed correctly.

The show that took place in the train station (think that's right?) looked great. I always thought they'd done it in order to make them viewable to a wider audience.

I think if they'd kept away from the nightclubs and had the shows in more obscure places then it would have been way more successful.

  3. Great stuff watching through random episodes of 'attitude era' Raw. I was probably too young to appreciate the era the first time around but I'm finding them so fun to watch.

Vince is excellent in his role as a complete douchebag.

Whilst dated I still find it very easy viewing. The mid card storylines seem very mediocre for the most part. However, the main storylines are so gripping and fun.

  4. I've not really paid attention to this thread as I never intended to subscribe to the service. However, after Wrestlemania I decided to give it a punt and I'm pleasantly surprised.

Just getting through Tough Enough and reliving my youth. Even though it's fairly dated I'm still finding it as easy viewing. It's beyond its time in my opinion as far as reality shows go. It's a shame that more didn't come of those taking part in the show.

It'd be interesting to see what folk are upto now who were in Season One.

  5. This is probably mentioned already somewhere in this monster thread but here's a list of all the stupid stuff TNA have ever done.

Not to say WWE are squeaky clean but there's some shocking stuff in there. Worst of all is the repetition, doing the same dumb things many times.

Cheers for that, taken a good portion of my evening to read but worth it. I know the WWE has screwed up in the past and made some piss poor decisions but reading that makes those decisions look pretty damn awesome.

  6. I missed the Torres / Maeda fight when I originally watched WEC 34 and after reading the thread earlier I took some time to watch it and it was immense. Both Torres / Maeda come out of it looking like warriors, it wasn't the crispest of fights but they made up for it in the way they battled and battered each other. Not too sure if it beats my choice of Pulver / Faber but it was a truly exciting fight.

  7. Went and saw The Orphanage the other night.Awesome film. Thoroughly reccomended. And see it properly!! Either cinema, or if you're gonna d/l it then at least wait for a proper good copy to be available

Just to let people know, a DVD quality copy is out there on the net. That's how I saw it. Great film.
Yes, yes and yes. I've been trying to get everyone and anyone to go see this. I went with a friend a couple of weeks ago and he had seen Pan's Labyrinth which if I am correct was directed by Guillermo del Toro who produced this great film, he mentioned how great Pan's Labyrinth was and how he had heard very good things about The Orphanage so I decided to go along and see it with him. At first I thought it would be hard to get into watching the film with subtitles, I watch plenty of foreign language films but really find myself struggling at times to find a happy balance when concentrating on what is going on and what I should be reading. However, I was fully immersed within the story and with the added bonus of being in a criminally empty cinema meant that I really felt as if I'd gone through the whole film without even acknowledging the subtitles. I even remarked that it felt as if I'd just watched an English language film as I couldn
  8. This is just insane. I have only just got home from work and thought that I'd catch the last bit of Raw and when I turned it on I saw HHH in tears talking about someone. I instantly thought that it was related to the McMahon storyline and I got the feeling that it was a little too far having someone in such a state over a fake death and then HHH said 'Chris' and it all sort of fitted together and it was made worse when JR and the King came on and begun talking about Benoit. I may be blind in my faith but I really can't see the WWE exploiting this death, maybe it's blind hope but I really do hope/wish/pray that they don't.

  9. My advice on getting your money back would be that if you bought your tickets with a credit card from 1up/1pw and you have insurance, get them to get your money back for you. It is what I have just done. HSBC don't fuck about.

That should be in the adverts.HSBC. We don't fuck about.
It really should be, they are fantastic at sorting out such problems. I had a problem with a company a while back who I'd never dealt with before but their name kept cropping up on my credit card statements. One call to HSBC and they were sorting it out, sending me letters updating me on the situation. Really like LotM has said, if anybody has purchased tickets through their credit card don't hesitate to ring them straight away and tell them about the problem.
  10. Does 1PW have any assets to pay for it's debts?

I'd assume stock from 1-UP and whatever assets they have in terms of equipment used for the main shows. Other than that I am not too sure what they could or are allowed to take.
  11. Just a thought, (ill-educated speculation, if you will, with Farepak in mind) but won't the appointed insolvency practitioners discharge any commercial debt where they can before giving anything back to customers for ticket sales? It also seems strange that the aforementioned insolvency practitioners have set up a hotmail account to deal with this. I wouldn't hold my breath for ticket refunds.

It certainly doesn't look good for those who have already purchased tickets and who will now be looking for a refund but I'm not an expert on these sort of issues so hopefully someone with more experiance within the field may be able to fill us in on what is going to occur from now.I won't hide the fact that I used to love going to the 1PW shows, early last year I thought they were amazing and it meant I was able to get my brother into wrestling which I thought was fantastic. Though rumours started flying around, shows seemed rather unorganised so I left it at that and didn't really want those good memories ruined for me or my brother, plus I'd worked out that he enjoyed other smaller British shows just as much which cost me a fraction of the price so it saved me a lot of money in the long run.I do sort of feel sorry for the die hard fans, those who have put a hell of a lot more time and money into the product than I have but I don't feel sorry for Gauntley who was warned time and time again, it would be a shock to me if it already wasn't predicted some several months back. I can see Moj skipping happily home from work now, beaming from ear to ear.
  12. I *heart* this thread so much, mainly not because of the news it's giving out but the fact that Detective Sprules seems to believe that he has all the answers when in reality he hasn't got a clue what the hell is going on. My 'Profiling and Investigating Serious Crime' lecturer yesterday stated something that sort of sums this all up for me, he'd been asked by Sky News to do a profile on the ongoing saga in Ipswich but has declined numerous times because not even he or those other people within the field that he speaks to has a clue what is going on. He can speculate and he did, he drew out a profile of the sort of person he thought had committed the crimes and he then proceeded to crush his profile by saying that it was all aload of rubbish because the only way to form a proper profile would be to have all the information that the police have on what has occured. How do we know that this isn't being done by a group of people of even a woman? At this moment in time no profiler can write out a profile and be one hundred percent sure on what they have written, unless of course they have the information that the police have and I'm sure even the police at such an early stage haven't got a great deal of stuff to go on.

  13. Really sad to read such news, he really did battle against cancer and seemed so upbeat when posting on his message board, though I guess it was only a matter of time. Like others he was a fav of mine when I was younger and will be missed by many.RIP

  14. Wow, people do like to drag arguments out. Is the simple solution to this 'ignore'? Rather than using the 'report' button? If you feel the mods aren't doing anything then just ignore this whole topic, maybe thats not your style and I respect that but it comes down to that you know that your not going to quit and that those arguing back aren't.Using the language that you have is not the way to go about things, certainly at the age of 29. If someone of under 20 can decide that this isn't the way to go about this whole situation then I am sure someone over that age can. If they annoy you so much 'ignore' them. Simple, the mods aren't going to change the way they mod just for the sake of a petty argument about some shit no one apart from you gives a damn about. You want to prove the mods are corrupt? Maybe they are, Moo owns the place, he can moderate however he wants. That 'nomination' you have...it's nothing bad. Heck, the rest of those on the list from what I have read have taken it fairly well without self promoting themselves and just getting on with it. Some even willing to change though many of them seemingly don't need to change as they are fine the way they are. It's an 'opinion' everyone has one, if someone at the other side of the country doesn't like you then laugh it off. If you feel that they are doing 'wrong' to you, ignore them. It's as simple as that. It may be hard in such a closed enviroment but it's simple enough to do. But do whatever you want, it's your choice.

  15. Sometimes i hate this board.I've never had problems with stingersplash, but this thread is sickening. His lame attempts at 'sucking up'..."I'm going to do this and i'm going to do that"No one gives a shit, just get a different account and start afresh.I've never understood taking a message board seriously, but this thread takes the hob nob.Oh, and ElSupremo is by far one of the best posters on this thing, and i believe we have a mutual hatred of the "It's my opinion" line. He wins life. Also, Seven owns also, it's a disgrace he got in here.

I have to agree, this sort of stuff shouldn't be taken too seriously. I haven't had an argument on here, maybe because I shy away to a certain degree and don't follow the bait that some people sometimes leave but for me this place isn't about arguing. Ok some people will disagree and dislike each other but for me thats where it should stop. I'm don't really hate anybody, there are those who annoy me but if they do say something that boils my blood I'll either say something to an effect which wouldn't start an argument, more to the effect of letting them know my feelings or just avoid it all together. Maybe some people can't do that and heck, it can be accepted as I'm pretty shy in those situations so I just avoid arguments whereas some people will be the opposite and want to fight for what they think is right.I think the feeling of being placed in here is that your 'hated' which isn't true really. Ok some people may think those above in the poll are annoying but there are only a few people who did vote which isn't a big thing. It's just a matter of opinion over a person, nothing to lose any sleep over. For example, Mr Seven and Ashley, while some may not agree with what they post or say there are many who do. It's just a matter of opinion so I don't think anyone should take it to heart.Just to pimp up the ElSupremo love without sounding like a total psycho, he may have views that I sometimes don't agree with but like many others on here he is a top guy and I will go as far as to say that I missed his presence in the TNA 'Final Resoultion' thread. It was a quiet night without him. I'm not going to suddenly dislike him because I don't agree with some of his opinions as they aren't really anything to cry over or worry about. His opionons are just that. Though I hate the 'm8' and 'LMAO' in quite an odd way, they either rile me in the way that I am confused about why they have been placed within a message or just the ironic use of them which has been overused to a certain degree. Not pointing any fingers, [cough] Neil [cough]. Anyhow, I'd say let's all be friends but I can't see that happening anytime this decade so I'll just sit back and enjoy the view.
  16. Sorry if this has been asked before but I have heard many people talk about being taxed when they have purchased stuff over the net from the US and had to pay up when the stuff has been delivered. The reason I ask is that I am wanting to buy a few things from ROH Wrestling but I don't really fancy being hit with this. Mainly is there a limit as to how much you can purchase before having to pay this 'tax' and how much is it if so?Sorry for the lack of detail and the poor wording of the question.

  17. The S.A.T's. :( .I personally thought they were and still are a great Tag Team though that is just my opinion and I am very biased. It would be nice to see them around alot more, hopefully they can get their act together and possibly make it back into ROH. Only time will tell.Seismic
