  1. Is there a decent website to watch old matches on? I'm going through a real wrestling phase just now and I want to catch up on some old classics I've never seen (this might be blasphemy, but I only saw Flair/Steamboat from WrestleWar 89 and Eddie/Rey from Halloween Havoc for the first time last night).

Also, is there a comprehensive list or anything like that of the considered 'greatest matches of all time'?

  2. An oldie but a goldie. Some guy called "Ali" walks headfirst into an oncoming bus in Glasgow.

The language in this is NSFW. So put your speakers down. No gore in it either.

Haha, that video never gets old. Such a typically Glasgwegian reaction to seeing your mate being run over by a double-decker bus: "aw, fuck off, Ally!"

  3. Last night's episode was (unintentionally) hilarious. The effects and the acting were woeful. The total no-selling of the explosion in the club is ridiculous. not to mention the falling "debris" that looked like bits of rolled up newspaper. That spoiler picture is interesting. The only blokes in danger are Todd and Peter and Peter must survive or else there's no wedding?

I presume you mean Jason?

It's fair to say that Ashley's story is the least meaningless out of the people likely to be called Daddy (Peter, Tyrone, Ashley) so it looks like curtains for him.

Peter and Tyrone's storylines surely have bigger pay-offs to come than the "ride off into the sunset" that Ashley and Claire would have done.

Plus, when Ashley was bevvied on the stag do, all he was talking about was how desperate he was to go home and be with Claire. On a lad's night out, all he was talking about was his plain Jane missus. He is deid as a dodo.

  4. The worst date I can remember was at the beginning of term a few years. On the Friday beforehand I had pulled a nice wee Polish lassie who was just new in Glasgow (her English was better than mine, right enough) and my best mate had coincidentally shagged her friend, also from Poland, who she stayed with.

So we agree to go on a retarded double-date on the Monday evening - they were big into Guy Ritchie films for whatever reason, so we went to see Rock N Rolla in the cinema. About 15 mins before we were due to meet them, we got off the bus and my mate whipped out a joint. I was a bit wary, but his insistent tone in "aw come on man, it's only one" was too persuasive.

The weed he had turned out to be really strong, and we stood outside waiting for them pissing ourselves laughing. They arrived: we laughed the whole time in the queue, we laughed going to find our seats, we laughed through the trailers, we HOWLED with laughter when a trailer for Wall-E came on and my one did a cutesy wee Wall-E impression, and we sat through the entire film trying not to burst out in hysterics whilst hitting each other to try and get the other to do it.

They weren't impressed, and we didn't see each other again. It wasn't a particularly bad date, but being with two stoned cabbages is probably not fun for the ladies.

  5. Right now I am pretty addicted to The Mentalist, after getting round to watching the first few episodes (I had bought my brother the Season 1 DVD boxset as he and his girlfriend were fans of the show). Just approaching the end of the first series at the moment.

It is ridiculously watchable and entertaining. Sure, it's not must-see, tense drama like The Wire or most HBO shows - it's a glossy Hollywood-type production full of beautiful people, but I can look past that. Also, I'd gone off "freak of the week" style shows a few years ago (Angel and Buffy did it well, but I lost patience when Smallville did it), but the premise and setting of The Mentalist means it translates very well to that style. It's also helped by having a primary plot feature driving the narrative forward with the Red John serial killer that crops up in a number of the episodes.

The characters are, for the most part, very likeable, and the whole package is aided by the presence of Simon Baker who plays the lead character, Patrick Jane. He clearly enjoys the role a lot and I have developed a man-crush on him. Seriously, he is a very handsome man.

  6. Hassan was fucking incredible. Mark Copani must have been shitting his keks every time he went out, because some of the reactions he got were insane.

Was way too short-lived for my liking and I think it's a bit unfortunate things transpired the way they did. Am I right in saying that the episode of SD! with "terrorists" who attacked Undertaker with the piano wire was taped on the Tuesday before 7/7 and it was just rotten luck it happened like that?

  7. I am not particularly a fan of any soap, but I guess if you had to force me into watching one it would be Coronation Street. I really don't understand how anyone can enjoy watching Eastenders - it is the most miserable, depressing and soulless show of all time. The accents are fucking insufferable and well, I for one find it very hard to tolerate.
