  1. If someone is trying to lose fat then the best way is to drop a lot of those carbs, if you do that your body will start burning up fat instead taking energy from carbs.

Not 100% convinced on this, are you talking from experience or is there science behind it?

There is science behind it, it is called Ketosis, if the body isn't getting enough carbs to replenish the glycogen stores in the liver then the body will eventually enter a stage called Ketosis. This is where the body will start to break down fat to replenish the glycogen. It is how very low calorie diets like Lighter Life work, although doctors are still at odds on how safe those sorts of diets are.

  2. I've finally found some time to edit a few photos I took in Venice back in March. They were all taken on my Sony NEX-5N. I was happy with the images as holiday snapshots but felt I could pull more out of them, so I took the RAW files and created -1, -2, +1 and +2 exposure compensations in Aperture, I then used the photo merge feature in Elements 10 to create the following HDR images. I am pretty pleased with how both turned out, they've taken an ordinary looking snapshot and turned it into something a little bit better.

The exterior of Cafe Florian on Piazza San Marco, a beautiful cafe that has been around since the 1700's, very very expensive though

A shot that nearly everyone takes when in Venice....

  3. So how exactly is it that the Luxembourgian commission can sanction a fight in the UK? Also, does it mean West Ham could represent Luxembourg in the Champions League? (One of these questions is serious)

It's a loophole in the European Free trade laws that allows the Luxembourg Boxing Federation, or any other Boxing Federation that is a member of the European Boxing Union for that matter, to licence boxers to fight anywhere within the European Union.

Oh, twenty dollars...I wanted a peanut!Homer's brain: Twenty dollars can buy many peanuts!Homer: Explain how.Homer's brain: Money can be exchanged for good and services.-----------------Homer: Marge, don't discourage the boy. Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals!...except the weasels.

  5. This is our gorgeous son George who was born on Thursday 1st July 2010 weighing a very healthy 8lbs 5oz.

He's perfect in every way and seems to have recovered from the trauma of an assisted delivery quicker than his Mum and Dad have. He didn't even cry (that much) when the Twisted Genius Dean Ayass came for a visit yesterday to say hello.

  6. In which case you'll be happy to know they've got a follow up currenly in development... Same team working on it, and the style/format is the same, but it's not called Band of Brothers.

It's currently called The Pacific and should be released next year. Like Band of Brothers was based on the book of the same name by Steven E Ambrose this will be based on the memoirs of two US Marines (Eugene Sledge and Robert Leckie) who served in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. It's going to star Joe Mazzello and James Badge Dale (Chase in series 3 of 24) as Sledge and Leckie. Jon Seda, who played Dino Ortolani in Oz, will also star as a third main character. Unfortunatly the two authors passed away a few years ago so I don't think we'll see as many interviews with the veterans of the stories which is what gave Band of Brothers such a real feeling. Hopefully with the same team working on it though it will still be a decent series.
  7. Well I've legitimately, genuinely, not just in my head, fucked an Emmy winner (female). What do I win?

In all the arguing and making Sprules look like a cunt this revolation from Lister has gone un-noticed. Come on we want a name, I've narrowed it down to Kim Zimmerblgl_k1.jpgMarcy Walker250px-Marcywalker2.jpgMaryam Hassounifotocrop_11-21-2006_124263d.jpg
  8. Suprised Charlie Rage is so low down the top 50. He's been getting better and better. His new "Feel The Rage"/ HEW Hometown Hero gimmick has shown signs of being very entertaining.Travell dropping isnt a shock as he has had less exposure this year but I am suprised he's fallen so far and only just made the top 50.

  9. Very sad news, I can't believe he was only 42, which is no age. He had been around for what felt like forever, and was quite young in his major run with the WWF, he achieved so much in such a short time.I'd had the pleasure of briefly chatting to him after an All Star show and he was a very passionate man with lots of time for fans, which he showed when he was a member of this very forum.RIP John Tenta.

  10. I got 24 on PS2 a few days ago and have played the first mission and thus far it looks okay (took it back today but will carry on playing thanks to the glory that is HDLoader). I picked up Godfather today and am looking forward to playing that, was going to take it back after copying it onto the hard drive but I like the funky metal box it comes in so might keep it.

  11. I think a lot of people are misreading into the reasons as to why myself and others have put "yes" as there answer. I would hate to see the BNP in power as much as the next person

So if you would hate to see the BNP in power why would you consider voting for/supporting them? This thread is titled "Would you support the BNP?" so therefore answering yes indicates you would support them and possibly help them get into power. You cannot have it both ways, I would support them but wouldn't want them in power, you cannot pick and choose which policies you want the party you vote for, its either all or nothing.
  12. I have never called anyone a 'paki', but I don't see how it is racist. Is calling an Australian a 'pom' racist, is calling someone from New Zeland a 'kiwi' racist, is calling someone from Britain a 'brit' etc?

"Paki" isn't just used to describe someone from Pakistan, it is generally used as derogatory way to describe someone from the Kashmir region of Asia regardless of where they are actually from. With the very long history of hatred and fighting between Indian and Pakistan over the Kashmir region (they have come very close to going to war a few times in the last couple of years) you can understand why an Indian would consider being called a "Paki" an insult and accuse you of being racist. Pom is used by the Australians to describe the British, its often used in an insulting way (mainly by Alf Stewart in Home and Away) but over time its become more of a joke than anything with racist undertones, although I guess it depends on the context of how its being used. I don't particularly thing that "Kiwi" is a racist term, New Zealanders often refer to themselves as The Kiwi's in sporting events. Its the nickname of their Rugby League side and in the past has been printed on the shirts, I have never seen a Pakistani sporting team have the word "Paki" on any of their shirts.
